Reviews of Trentham Estate
M. H.
A nice place to walk around with a large garden centre and great restaurant. The village has many shops and food outlets. The gardens would have been great in the summer but there was no colour. I recognise it’s winter but a few winter flowers would be nice.
There are many food outlets and the toilets were all clean and well maintained.
Well worth a visit for all members of the family.
Accessibility wise, this is probably one of the best locations for wheelchair users as every footpath I saw is well maintained and on the flat or marginal gradient.
A. F.
Great place to meet up with friends and have a walk around and a cup of tea. I love all the little shops inside the garden centre, but more than anything I love their outdoor garden which has hundreds of plants and flowers. I only took a few pictures, but they have so much more to offer. I like their water features and gazebos, as well as variety of garden sheds ( more like private room with the view) and green houses. I could spend hours in there, and I always come back again in another season. Highly recommend.
M. H.
Beautiful Italian Garden , lake and surroundings. We spent over 4 hours here and could easily have stayed longer. Fantastic shopping village as well where I duly stocked up with cheese. Trentham is definitely worth a visit.
H. C.
Lovely walk around the lake, flat path that is easily navigable for wheelchairs. Italian gardens are nice but think they'd be spectacular mid summer. Ice cream is lush in cafe and play area for kids looked fab. Only downside doggos on lead at all times, which for water mad spanners was hard work.
K. R.
It's been a little while since I was last around the lake so the difference was measurable. The gardens look spectacular so there is plenty to see and enjoy. Well done to the gardeners but make sure that the Himalayan balsam doesn't take hold!!
E. J.
Absolutely loved it !! Animals well cared for and cleaned up after. Staff helpful, friendly, informative. I loved that the staff approached me to offer information and ask me if i wanted to know anything. No rip off buying monkey food as all are well and regularly fed. Clear markings to follow route around site. Definitely going to go again. Then went on to garden centre. Well laid out. Knowledgeable staff. Lovely home items, reasonable prices. Good plants.
Finally on to shopping outlet. Prices a bit steep but clean, tidy and hood selection of shops. A lovely day out. Thank you Trentham.
J. S.
We had such a beautiful late afternoon walk around the gardens. There’s so much flora and fauna to see around the lake. I adore the black swans with their bright red beaks. They are such a delight to see. The estate are doing really well keeping the environment in such beautiful condition. Very peaceful, and very relaxing. I felt like I’d been on holiday.
S. W.
Everyone must go here. Beautiful gardens. Fun parks and activities for children. You can't get around it all properly in one day. Well worth the money.
j. x.
Nice shopping village , plenty of different shops to choose from and reasonable prices .
The garden centre is huge and has two cafés /restaurants service decent quality food .
The actual Gardens are lovely and peaceful .
Well worth a walk round .

1st Visited this place awhile back just to see the fairies made by fantasy wire they did not disappoint. It's an hour away from Manchester can't believe I've never been here before came today with two toddlers and a dog it's just as impressive as the 1st time the play areas are perfect sand everywhere toddlers loved it. Plenty of water bowls out for your pooches lots to explore for both dogs and kid's plenty of shops outside the garden s reasonably priced we took a picnic for lunch and ate tea before we left at the Riverside chip shop fab food good price great portions 1 kids meal could've fed them both will definitely be returning soon.

The gardens cost £12 to enter and are free to RHS members at certain times of the year (November to March). There are a number of walks around the gardens. The gardens contain a lake which has black swans, herons and a number of other birds on. There are two cafes at either end of the lake. These are reasonably priced. You can obtain cream teas, ice cream, oatcakes, other snacks and drinks from.
a. h.
Had a fantastic day walking around the lake and formal gardens. Stop halfway around at the coffee shop. Dog friendly and a fantastic shopping outlets out side the entrance.
r.
A shopping village with various eating places and a garden centre. The gardens (entrance fee) include a large lake, fountains, lots of sculptures, ruins (not accessible), a cafe and sometimes a small train that runs along one side of the lake. There are also boat trips i think though none seemed to be runing today.
P.
Wonderful lakeside walk and shopping outlet village. The light display and fairy statues they had up for Christmas were so wonderful, full of character and mischievous energy! A great place to go with family or kids
R. C.
One of our favourite places to visit. The gardens are wonderful and the retail Village is a charming area with interesting shops selling everything from gourmet foods to fashion, luggage to beauty treats. There are lots of benches to rest on which is great if you have mobility issues. The Garden Centre is excellent. The main path through the centre leads you through a houseplants section and then onto an area showcasing gorgeous smells of bath bombs, soaps and oil diffusers. Then you walk through the kitchenware/ gadgets section. After that you can enjoy beautiful pieces of art and home decor. Next is the clothing area with clothes, shoes, bags and accessories. The toy section is next with lots of traditional toys and pocket money toys. The book section is next featuring unusual greetings cards and stationery gifts. Lastly is the gourmet foods and alcohol section. The Garden Centre has a path leading outside and over the River Trent and displays stunning plants for sale. The restaurant is excellent with good quality food. Or for a lighter choice try the coffee shop with its deep comfortable sofas and armchairs. The cakes are worth trying! The Garden Centre is so much more than just a plant and garden tools shop!

Beautiful garden, full of metal fairy's and an array of wooden creature carving. Nice long walk, with cafes inside the garden.
D. L.
Very big Area and big Park. You can come with family, and walk, relax.
Many people come this place, running or fishing.
This place have Amazing view.
e. c.
Monkey forest! Wow!!! This place is outstanding... Spotlessly clean inside and out.. Staff all an absolute credit.. Cafe staff so lovely and cafe manager lovely.... Shop assistant very nice tooo... Would highly recommend to anyone after a fun day out
A. K.
Beautiful gardens and lake to walk around. Bit pricey to enter though, would have cost me and the wife £25 but we tripled our Tesco clubcard points towards the cost. Will have to save up some more clubcard points before we go again.
P. S.
Amazing place, best time to go would be May/June due to all flowers starting growing properly. Best for family day
D. S.
Picturesque gardens and a nice pathway around the lake. It is dog friendly so I enjoy bringing my dog along too. There are plenty of options for dining as well as shopping. The garden centre also has a huge range to browse.
d. d.
Excellent day out around the lake and gardens, also there's a large shopping outlet plus a garden centre on the same complex
J. P.
Visited here and hapened to be a market going on. Fabulous!! Stall great and food amazing. With that added to usual shops, of which there is a great selection, great day out. Main shop had some nice things for sale but mostly rather expensive stuff which we would never buy. Spent afternoon walking around Trentham Gardens - £25 for two. Felt slightly pricey but gardens are so well done we felt it was worth it after we had made it around the lake. Overall loved it.
S. A.
Great experience for relaxation and comfort.
The cruise trip is stopping due to the pandemic
J. C.
We had tickets for the Christmas lights trail on a rather cold Friday night. To be honest we hadn't got a clue what to expect and at £20 each we were a bit apprehensive. However we thought the very impressive scale and effort of the display made it well worth the entry fee. Unfortunately I am not sure I could say that the food and drink were value for money though. A bit more illumination of the paths would have been helpful to navigate the puddles.
Unfortunately the photos don't do it justice.
The garden's access is from the centre of the shopping village.
G. M.
I'm annual pass member, great place for a walk and coffee or quick lunch. Often have a walk round the lake. Only complaint is they open at 8am for members, but I can't seem to get coffee until 9, 8:30 Cafes open in the shopping village so I have not be so early.
S. W.
Nice place to go limited amount of monkeys but you do see them eat at feeding times they walk past you on the paths, good play area and café.
D. B.
A nice place to visit, but it is often very busy and parking can be problematic during these times. Especially, during the Christmas and New Year period. The place often appears to be busier than the city center. Trentham estate has a lot of nice shops and is a good place for a walk with or without pets, such as dogs.
P. F.
I love this place. The gardens are so beautiful with lots of wild meadows. The stumpery in the forest is really beautiful. It is a gentle walk around the lake with a coffee shop at either end. The Italianate gardens which are planted in a more seen style are stunning. There are sculptures throughout the gardens, some of which are carved into the trees. The fairies dotted throughout the site are a great addition and children will love sear hung for them. I cannot recommend this place enough. There is loads of parking and level access into the site.
A. F.
Visited Trentham on a weekend and a pod booked for Afternoon Tea. Great experience and service.
Plenty to do for kids in the Gardens with 2 large sandpits and a small kids and big kids play areas.
A. M.
Great Christmas lights would highly reccomend. Lovely touch with kids rides although you had to pay extra.
K. A.
Absolutely love it here. The garden centre is lovely, the shopping area is also great. Always clean. Both Do get quite busy if the weather is nice or at weekends.
Only downfall is there should be more disabled/ accessible parking, as we arrived at 10am and all spots taken. We need the space to open the door fully to get in/out of the car which is not always possible in standard spaces.
D. H.
Great place to go for a few hours or more. Lovely gardens, a lake to walk around, independent shops and a garden centre. Well worth a visit.
D. C.
Lovely day out wandering around the gardens at Trentham Gardens. Great food and drinks at the Tearoom to.
T.
A stunningly beautiful estate!!! 💯% Recommended and 💯% worth the visit. The grounds are very well kept. The contributions and funds to the estate enable it to be kept up to date. Clean, neat and tidy. The boutique shops are a nice touch and there’s also a selection of eateries at reasonable prices. Parking is Free. Entrance into the gardens is approx £12. It might seem steep but it is well worth it. The walk around the lake is gorgeous. Plenty of picturesque scenery and photo moments. It can take a few hours if you enjoy the stroll as opposed to speeding round. The wild flowers and gardens are an aspect to take in and appreciate. A perfect date day out on a hot summers day. ☀️ ❤️👩🏻❤️👨🏽
A. W.
Beautiful place for a nice and quiet walk if you decide to come later in the afternoon. Great views and lovely gardens. I particularly liked the Perseus and Medusa statue and their variety of roses. Ticket was £12.50 each.
C. J.
Trentham Gardens was beautiful today, as it always is, but this weekend definitely doing Jubilee festivities fabulously for families with fun themed activities, and a programme of fitting musical experiences on the open air stage.
S. D.
Excellent place to spend a day, plenty to see and plenty of places to eat and drink
S. D.
Lovely day out. The estate is just big enough for a decent length walk without feeling like you are miles from the start at any point. As expected, the gardens are beautiful, but there are interesting flowers, trees and shrubs all the way around the lake. Disc golf is good fun.
I didn’t explore the shopping arcade too much, but what I did see looked interesting. Adventure play ground looked great for kids (and even a young at heart adults who wanted a go on the swings when it was a bit emptier in the evening).
Willow restaurant at the entrance was great.
L.
Absolutely stunning place, so beautiful and colourful! Kids enjoyed Alice in Wonderland Easter trail as well.
T. H.
Great experience walking round the estate. Mainly around lake, lots to see. Far end lovely Italian garden. Fairy trail throughout. Well laid out and flowers and shrubs beautiful. Would return. Love the shopping and dining afterwards. Easy parking friendly staff.
K. F.
we went to see light display it was absolutely breathtaking, they did a brilliant job with lights well worth the money look forward to next year.
W. K.
Lovely tranquil Lake, fairies and other sculptures to spot as you walk around, great restaurant and cafe, a lovely day out
L. G.
Lovely place to visit. Garden Centre a must, plus all the great individual shops in the Log Cabin Village outside. Never made it yet into the Gardens, because there is so much to see outside. Next visit that is top of the list weather permitting. Plenty of parking, toilet facilities and places to eat to suit all budgets. Plus, Premier Inn on site, if you need a stop over. Lots of events, concerts held in the ground too. A great day out.
M. P.
Beautiful place to visit, full of colourful flowers, river, and play area are main attraction.
c. b.
Lovely gardens, walks and cafe and free parking.
M. S.
The Estate have clearly worked at making this an attraction with a range of interests from shopping and eating through to the estate gardens and garden centre.
We found the gardens disappointing though; the planting is limited and look like they haven't been tended properly for some time with lots of weeds getting hold. The estate landscape was unquestionably impressive but beyond that there's little interest for anyone keen on garden design and planting schemes.
N. P.
Nice place to take a short walk. Shopping, cafe, cakes. A bit expensive but nice especially when weather is fine. Best place for grandparents wih their granddaughter :)
P. W.
Amazing relaxing yet vibrant. Lot's on offer for all ages. Especially like, how it is dog friendly and that there is something for and from small children, that just want to run, play, explore the freedom of vast areas mother nature's glory. Through to those who just want to wander and soak up the beauty and energy of hectares of forest and beautiful manicured gardens. A delight for a staycation UK break.
R. K.
Great place, enjoyed our afternoon out lots of little shops and the garden centre has something for everyone.
K. L.
Nice place for a day out. Walk around the lake is about 1.8 mile, with a cafe and toilets halfway. Well kept grounds and gardens. Large play area for children. Good selection of small shops on site too.
J. P.
Great day out but being a bank holiday when we visited it was pretty busy. Would recommend if you can visit during the week. Haven't been for a few years and the gardens and the facilities have really improved, we will definitely revisit in the future but in the week.
P. P.
Good selection of shops nice enjoyable walk around them lots of cars in the car parks but the shops didn't seem too busy. Maybe most people were enjoying the the walking around the estate. I did purchase a gift from one of the shops and so did my sister. The shops can be quite pricey. Enjoyable afternoon though so would recommend
I.
Lovely day out. The garden are so beautiful with lots of wild meadows. There are sculptures throughout the garden's. The fairies dotted throughout the site are great addition. We loved the fairies they are out of this world.we will definitely come back again.
L. W.
Didn't have time to do the gardens but will return. Great variety of places to eat. Good collection of shops. Some mainstream others more niche. Really friendly staff everywhere. Relaxed atmosphere.
N. S.
Love this place, it has plenty of parking, shops, nice walks, beautiful lake and gardens. Its a garden centre, so don't come expecting B&M prices; but its not overly priced either.
Best time to visit, is anytime you have a friend with you to walk around.
A. P.
Great range of shops unfortunately didn't visit the garden as it was so wet but loved the shops and Gandeys circus and the monkey forest
A. W.
Lovely place to visit with family albeit a little pricey. Great childrens park, fun maze bare foot walk(no thanks) .. good cafe facilities. Nice gardens to view. Lack of Picnic benches they now charge for a picnic hut ..ugh. Nice walk around the lake with another cafe at the end although they have stopped doing milkshakes that the children were disappointed about.
D. K.
Beautiful gardens. Everywhere was so clean around the gardens and lake. A fantastic day out - can't wait to re-visit in spring and summer.
C. G.
Lovely gardens and lake recc doing the circular lakeside walk .Alot of wooden carvings
E. T.
Lovely Mothers Day treat (belated). Very tranquil, lovely lakeside walk, and a perfect afternoon tea.
M. K.
A pleasant family fun place with something to please all ages.
K. S.
Pricey but you can get a full day out of it. Lovely walk round the lake, cafe at the other end for a break. There is a decent sized kids park again next to a cafe so you can put your feet up while the kids terrorise each other in the giant sandpit!
The gardens are stunning in full bloom, however I recommend visiting the Christmas lights show if they do it again, it was magical lit up at night!
I've seen the gardens change over 35 years and it's now the best it's been.
Loads of parking but be prepared to do a bit of walking when it's busy!
R. W.
It's great to have a safe walk around The Lake & gardens also stopping for a coffee at the lakeside cafe on the way watching the wildlife.
J. G.
Had a great day, was loads of fun and there was a lot to see
E. L.
Beautiful gardens and lake to explore, the perfect place to go for a day with the dog and take a picnic as there are benches on the lake side too. Such a nice place would highly recommend it.
J. a.
I went to the free light switch on and most of the lovely shops were open the Christmas entertainment was fantastic!! Free parking too
J. C.
Amazing to wander around all the unique shops and grab some food and drinks. I did have a wander around the garden which for an adult would usually be nearly £13 each. I probably wouldn't have paid this but there was a food festival on for entry of £15. It was fantastic and the gardens were beautiful. Fully recommend and will be going back
H. S.
The gardens here were stunning plenty of photo opportunities.
There was also the garden centre and shopping outlets with something for everyone
M. M.
Beautifully kept gardens, a lovely day out if the weather is nice
D.
This is one of my Favourite places to visit, I can happily lose myself for a few hours here. I can recommend the restaurant in the garden centre, gluten free options although they had run out of gluten free fish & chips oh the disappointment so had the usual go to jacket potato. I Love all the quirky shops here, always come away with something, great places to find presents. Plenty of options to sit outside too. There is also a pie shop which does gluten-free pies but will leave a separate review for that as think it deserves one. I have not been into the Gardens this time but that equally worth a visit too.
B. C.
I absolutely love the gardens and the shopping experience. I took my mum round the gardens for the first time and she found it magical
c.
The monkey forest and Trentham Estate trip we took was a good day out . The shopping village was a little pricey for me but the wife didn't seem to mind lol. Beautiful gardens very photogenic n relaxed
T. R.
I love looking around the shops here and on a lovely sunny day what could be better. There is something for everyone. The food outlets are always busy. Today we ate at the crepe and waffle place. Don't think we'll be going back. Crepes were fine but the waffle and pancake meals stodgy and under cooked. The toppings no problems but if your speciality is pancakes and waffles learn to cook them properly. Trentham itself is always worth a visit some quirky shops, you can always find a gift or two.
The gardens are beautiful to walk around. It's a real gem.
C. S.
Absolutely beautiful! booking online was easy, plenty of parking, well sign posted and easy to find. Covid restrictions were good, lots of hand sanitizer stations, 1 way only around the lake and not crowded. We had a great day here - spotted all the fairies and tried the disc golf!
C. F.
Absolutely love it here. Lovely walk around the lake, with a little cafe at one end where you can get drinks, lunch for the kids and not drinks (they may do food for adults but not sure). There are fairy's for the kids to look out for whilst they walk along, statues for them all to see and then a fantastic park at the end of the walk. There is a little train track that goes part way round the lake but I haven't seen it running. At the other side of the lake there is a restaurant but we tend to take a packed lunch, so dont know about quality or prices of food. There is also a little cafe here for drinks and ice-cream. You can then walk through the gardens on your way to the exit. We absolutely love it here. You can have canoe lessons too, there were quite a lot of people doing it when we last went. I would highly recommend going even if you don't have children
p. b.
love it here as its local. We are very lucky to have this place on our doorstep, the garden centre is amazing as is the food, the wooden village shops are beautiful, some are a bit pricey. Ideal for families and dogs.
J. “. C.
Love Trentham Estate, lots of little quirky stores where you can find a unique gift or two. Garden Centre well stocked and very good value for money. Plenty of places to eat or just have coffee and cake. Although we didn't go into the gardens today, they are beautiful and should be visited at least once. There's an extra cost to visit them but well worth it. you do need to spend a whole day there if doing so. So much to see and fo , definitely a good day out
k. c.
Wonderful place to visit well worth the money
A. W.
Can't fault here for a few hours out. Love going on a regular basis. Great shops with something for everyone. Not the cheapest of places to visit but everything is of top quality and really good products of high standard.
R. L.
Beautiful gardens to explore, a lake to walk around. Perfect for a leisurely walk on a nice day, and lovely to run around with kids. What makes these gardens special are the fairies. I can never get enough of them!
a. g.
As someone who visits Trentham Gardens quite regularly in my spare time, the gardens and lake are very beautiful at any time of the year and its definitely one of the best areas of both Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire. Its always nice to walk around the lake and garden area or even ride the boat there on the rare occasion and the area certainly has changed a lot over the years, mostly for the better considering the beautiful surroundings (I remember when I was a kid, the lake used to be free to access and walk around before it got integrated with the Italian Gardens to make it what it is now). Alongside the gardens and lake area, the shopping village and garden centre are both quite nice with a lot of variety of stuff sold and the restaurants are good too for the most part, and at times when I don't visit the gardens itself, I usually visit the garden centre and the shopping village. My only issues with Trentham Gardens are that the ticket pricing can be a bit expensive (although since I use an annual ticket, its not a huge issue for me at the moment) and the miniature railway seems to be inactive most of the time I go (years ago I used to see a train going along that railway more regularly). However, apart from that, Trentham Gardens remains an area I still love going and no matter how much it may change later on, I will still visit it whenever possible.
P. G.
A reasonably pleasant shopping experience
All the shop staff we met were knowledgeable & chatty
K. M.
Very enjoyable day out. Garden centre typical Blue Diamond but that's not a criticism and the shopping outlet was a pleasant comfortable change. Used to McArthur Glen Outlet which is similar but not as aesthetically charming. Would recommend.
D. D.
Lovely, relaxing place to walk and appreciate the gardens. The price of admission isn't cheap. Shopping village good variety of shops. Lovely meal inside garden centre at the Italian.
m. k.
Just an all round ..all seasons fantastic place to visit
g. C.
I love trentham, it's a stunning garden, amazing plantsmanship, lovely lake walk, good shopping village etc and I visit(Ed) once a year up to last year of course. However, this year's bedding in the formal garden was dire. The box hedge needs either a feed or replacing and to be honest it all seemed a little bit lacklustre. More weeds than I have ever seen in the display borders and just a little disappointed to be honest. There were new sculptures and plenty to walk around on the plus side.
D. B.
Great for all the family. A little pricey for entry to the gardens themselves. Tesco annual membership available so that helps. Staff friendly on the whole. Whittards do samples perfect for after a walk. Lots of tea rooms and great garden centre shops too.
M. B.
10/10 absolutely mesmerising. Lovely place for shopping and for walks. Really dog friendly. The park is impeccably clean. Can not fault.
S. B.
Trentham Estate is a brilliant place to take the dogs for lovely walk.
The Estate grounds are always changing, beautiful colours most f the year.
Best to take your own sandwiches and a flask of tea or coffee. The half way café is over priced ad never well stocked.
C. L.
One of the most beautiful, well kept garden I have ever seen. I will be back!
S. W.
Lovely place to walk around and browse the shops. Dog friendly too. Lots of unusual querky shops if you are lookin for something just that little bit different. The beauty outlet is great, the staff are lovely and very happy to help.
S. F.
A grand day out with lots of opportunities to spend your money. We'll worth a visit for the day. Gardens have an admission fee. The Garden Centre sells everything and the Willow Tree restaurant is quality with doggies welcome. Lots of free parking on site.
D. D.
Wonderful place to go. Stroll round the lake and the gardens then go for coffee, light bites or full lunch. There's enough to suit all budgets and you can get a pint now. What's not to like 🙂
E. G.
Looks like an amazing place for people who love small independent retailers. Unfortunately we only had time to stop off for gluten free pie lunch at Pieminister (very nice thank you) and went in the amazing glass art shop. Wow. Need to go back.
L. C.
always enjoy a visit, usually once a fortnight, good garden centre and lots of good shops in the cabins, plenty places to eat and drink. good walks inside the gardens too 2 miles around the lake!
N. B.
Plenty to do with the garden centre, retail outlets and gardens to wander around
K.
What a gem of a bar. A great bar, a a wide range of fantastic beers and sprites. The bar is split into two a live DJ playing dances and RB music and a quite section, where you can site and talk. Great places to meet and chill.
H. H.
Outstanding display art of a very comprehensive stock.
A. S.
Ample parking with disabled bays. Fully wheelchair accessible. Good selections of food and shops in the shopping village. Beautiful gardens. Caregiver entry scheme.
D. P.
A nice relaxed way to spend a Sunday afternoon. £12.50 to enter the gardens is a bit steep.
The shopping outlet has some nice shops and restaurants.
E. S.
Lovely gardens, pity we didn't get to see them at their best this Summer.
The weather was fantastic so the walk around the lake was leisurely. Love the fairies dotted around.
One way system so good social distancing. People were observing it in the shopping village too. Not so good in the garden centre restaurant where few staff were wearing masks to serve customers food.
S. E.
Came to Trentham Gardens for a parkrun. What a fabulous venue, I felt privileged to be able to run there. Spent some time in the home and garden centre and various retail outlets around there too. A great morning out.
G. D.
Very well run estate & retail village with independent traders to suit everyone. Lots of free parking & numerous food outlets to test the taste buds. Well worth a weekly visit.
R. C.
Just love this place. Walked for about 7 miles around the lake and grounds. Everywhere was different to the next. Dogs welcome
M. S.
Only visited the shopping area. Lots of free parking including plenty of disabled spaces. Lots of free toilets available which were very clean and well equipped. Plenty of shops to peruse and lots of choice to buy food.
S. H.
A very good 👍 shopping 🛍 experience and a number of excellent eateries our favourite being in the garden centre.
J. W.
Shopping area had a good variety but the gardens were very gray. Nicely set out but dull.
Been there, seen it and don't need to go back.
P. S.
The Estate itself as almost a ruin , but still nice to look at and go for a short walk around it. It is great for Christmas lights show though 🎄⛄️👍
R. M.
Great place. Loads of space, pic nic seating and places to set up camp for a few hours or the whole day. More eating in the shopping area than in the gardens, but if you know you can plan. Rented gazebos look like a reasonable idea (could be more spaced out tbough). Good family day out, on lead dog friendly too.
I.
A fabulous visit in good weather surprisingly a day after storm Denis passed 😱. I’d been meaning to visit Trentham for a few years. We took our daughter and our pooch lurcher. Parking is ample and free if you only want to visit the shopping village & garden centre but the garden and wider estate are so worthwhile visiting. A number of eateries in the shopping village and two either end of the lake. Some lovely sculptures to check out. I’d imagine in the spring/summer with the plants in bloom this place is beautiful. We walked all around the lake which is a level well laid out path and takes about an hour. The estate has surrounding woods so you can stretch your legs further if you want. Both cafes have nice outside seating areas. Most shops allow dogs but the odd few don’t, they must be kept on a lead understandable. We very much enjoyed our visit. There is a monkey world on the estate that you pay extra for which we didn’t have time to do but maybe in another visit.

We visited the Trentham Estate recently and had an amazing time in the park. The gardens were a bit disappointing. I've been before some years back and they were brilliant. I don't know if it was because we visited in March but it seemed like the gardens were neglected
C. B.
Great walk, lovely mixed gardens and even a fun maze. Not too childish or too adult, a nice blend. Very well kept gardens. Did not find any dog poo. All in all a good way to spend a couple of hours. We went to the monkeys first, took us about 4-5 hours to do both gently. Kept my 12 year old entertained for hours!
C. H.
What an amazing place full of character. We loved the fairies they are out of this world.. the place is very clean, tidy and well maintained. Will definitely visit again
a. m.
Very good garden centre with lots of seats in the restaurant and a great variety of goods.
Add the separate shopping area and country park and you might have everything you need.
4 🌟 because I don't think I have ever given 5

Wow!!! 🤯
Check it out 👍
The Statue of Persius and Medusa is worth a whopping £156,000 😲
Well worth a look, and if you get time, you should checkout the history of the statue, it mind blowing 🤯
All the gardens and facilities are awesome too.
You could probably spend an entire day here without getting board 👍
R. D.
Public area is delightfully, rustic, good for getting in touch with nature. The private part is well maintained, and more civilised. So overall Trentham Gardens caters to most tastes.
M. M.
An amazing place to walk n just chill. Take in there view, n scenery n wildlife. .always a places relax and have a brew. By lake or in retail Village. Great place to unwind. Avd think. Plenty places sit n pause for thought

Lets start with positives: I love the garden centre here. Theres so much inside to look at, from indoor plants, cooking pots, utentels, candles, oils, food, pet and wildlife care, clothing, footwear, outdoor buildings, garden furniture and outdoor plants, it can be overwhelming. The shopping village is nice, with a couple of unusal sellers, mixed in with regular shops. Food choice is just ok. Last but not least the gardens, beautifully kept, with fantastic specimens (canadian Redwoods)and a nice walk. Negitives: A few years ago you only had to pay to go into the right side of the gardens (Italian) now, you have to pay to go in altogether (aprox£13 pp)!. Oh, theres a little train which goes nowhere other than a 100 metres down the lake. A couple of tea rooms, barefoot walk, some weird bubbles to stand in, and basically thats your lot. Honestly, maybe I am becoming more frugle with my money but for me, its just not worth my money to go inside anymore. Theres no denying Trentham estate is beautiful, however there are many places in Staffordshire which are beautiful and free.
D. S.
My favourite retail centre. A regular stop on our trips to see family up north. Lots of free parking with good choice of outlets and eating options.
S. J.
I attended the food festival, Gardens are well maintained and very picturesque. The food show was not as was to be expected hardly any vendors and lack of choice for drinks and limited food options.
P. W.
Amazing tourist attraction set in amazing surroundings. Can't fault it. The walk can be long with little ones or elderly but there is the ability to get a boat up and down the lake which comes every hour or so. The walk is amazing in a sunny day and the gardens are out of this world. Would highly recommend. Shops are as you walk in and lots of places to eat. Cafe inside estate was very good.
M. W.
Initially I thought the admission fee of £12 per adult a little on the steep side but after a few very good hours discovering the gardens and lakeside/woodland walks I thought it good value for money! I would estimate there to be 90% or more wheelchair accessibility, there are areas with steps and some areas with rough terrain, though most points of interest can be reached by taking the circular paths. Parking at the complex depends on when you wish to visit, the venue has a large car park but this can be full to capacity on a fine sunny day and is even more difficult to park at weekends in fine weather! There are refreshments and conveniences at both ends of the lake which is a good hour and half circular walk at a steady stroll. The gardens are well maintained and the gardening staff are often seen going about their business during your tour! Dogs are allowed to visit as long as on a leash, no cycles other than kiddies cycles! You may practice outdoor Yoga, by appointment! After paying admission, your ticket allows you to come and go as you please for the day! There are literally a hundred picnic tables dotted about the site and this is the most difficult decision you may have to make, which table? Great place to take the kids as there is an adventure play area and the woodland/lakeside walks will help to tire them out too! I've not covered all aspects of Trentham Gardens, you have to visit to draw your own conclusion which I'm sure will be top rated!
P. N.
Free parking, easy access including disability friendly. Public conveniences. Mix of boutique shops and a large garden centre. All in all a good afternoon out!
M. B.
Great place to visit. Lovely garden and walk around the lake. Sensory will for the kids and plenty of cafe's
R.
Worth a visit if the suns out!
S. B.
A really good day out & weather was glorious
J. B.
Nice day out. Not to expensive to enter the gardens, but we'll worth it. Plenty of places to eat, shopping village with some high street brands
s. f.
Amazing show , my kids 1st experience of a circus, they were in just aw and amazed and your staff were so friendly and polite . Thank you again.
Looking forward to seeing you for Halloween
Thanks again
I. D.
A great place for the whole family, you will not be disappointed. We will certainly be visiting again.... especially for the Trenham butchers and bbq platters they offer. Quality produce at an affordable price.
E. H.
Very beautiful and massive garden! Open till 9pm in summer. A wonderful place for picnic, couple, family or anyone like reading in a quiet relax place under lovely sunshine. Lots of chairs are prepared in the garden. Tea room offers food and drink till 5:30pm.
S. S.
Love the gardens so much I have a season ticket and there is a good mix of shops. Plenty of of places to eat and drink too.
A. C.
Went in December time and it was a little cold and windy but still a really pretty gardens to walk round and explore. The fairy walk was lovely seeing the amazing wired metal fairies that had been made that you had to find on the way around the gardens. Will be returning when all the flowers and gardens are in bloom!
P. D.
A lot of lovely little shops, can always find something and alot of places to eat that cater for all sorts including fussy eaters plus the big garden centre on site is brilliant again with 2 different places to eat, well worth it even better when the Market isn't on as it makes it more worth while
k. r.
Not the cheapest place but the Garden Centre has a good selection of Terrarium plants.
S.
Service was ok at garden centre coffee shop. bit awkward as you have to pick a seat get the number before ordering. Not enough vegan or vegetarian options on menu. They had ran out of what we ordered so had a alternative made up by chef... as no other options.
c. g.
Well worth a visit, beautiful gardens, and wild plants around the lake. The fairy sculptures are amazing to see too.
P. C.
Wonderful garden, something for everyone. Could certainly spend a full day here which makes the entry price more acceptable. Lots of willow sculptures, tree carvings and the amazing Fantasy Wire Fairies. Bee friendly planting throughout with informative signage. Loved it.
A. M.
Visited the gardens and can highly recommend, had a fantastic family day out! Mostly disable friendly although a few steep areas. Vegan ice cream options. Plenty of picnic benches and an amazing play park for the kids... As well as the stunning surroundings, such beautiful gardens. They have implemented lots of hygiene stations and one way systems for covid too, great day out.
S. L.
Good experience in the shopping Village. Wide range of stores, many offering discounts on their goods.
We did not go in the gardens
E. J.
Went on father's day which also coincided with food festival. Car park was rammed . Facilities are well kept and clean. Fair range of shops.
M. A.
Wow. This place is stunning. Biggest garden centre I have ever seen. Next to that are wee shops that look like chalets. All in the middle if amazing scenery, stunning trees. Lots if places to eat there too. There is a monkey park too. Bit pricey at £20 entrance fee. Never went to that but would definately go back. Would look amazing at Christmas
R. C.
A great day out for families, couples or anyone just needing some time to recharge surrounded by nature and well kept gardens. Just outside of the park there are plenty of options to dine or snack, as well as some interesting shops. The nearest hotel is just a stones throw away and there’s plenty of good parking available. Be sure also to get a look into the monkey trail walk and boat hire for the lake. A perfect example of an English country garden, especially to be enjoyed in the midst of summer.
S. B.
Lovely gardens, great food and drink, garden centre offers so much more than garden items. Loved it. Will be back.
P. M.
One of my favourite place to visit. Whether you walk clockwise or anticlockwise, doesn't matter around the lake, it's how a stroll was meant to be. Leisurely. Hot drink at the far end of the lake, halfway, alongside the rowing club station. Floral displays in the summer months. Well kept estate. Themed nights of Musical Tribute Acts during summer. Advisable to purchase an Annual Ticket if you intend to frequent Trentham Gardens.
J. A.
Nice and steady, can be very busy at times. Everything you should need is there somewhere. You can go around the gardens but there is a cost.
K. C.
Beautiful place to go and visit and have a meal.it would be very nice if they can build a children playground as they have lots of space and families with kids would be very happy.
C. s.
Café and food exceptional as usual but was really magical this weekend with the Alice in wonderland theme the cast were absolutely brilliant and really talented, it was a joy and suitable for children young and old
A. O.
My partner and I had such a wonderful day at Trentham Gardens the weather was lovely which made it even better. Trentham Gardens is a great place to go to spend a family day out or just a day out, it's very relaxing, it also clears the mind. There's loads of wooden shops and few restaurants. The only issue I would point out is I wish there was more variety of restaurants to choose from.
A. B.
The walk around the lake is one of the few things keeping me sane during the lockdown! All feels very Covid safe with a one way system implemented, alongside the need to make reservations. The walk is gorgeous (especially on a clear day) and super quiet; midway round you'll pass by the monkey forest - keep an eye out towards the top of the fence and you might see a monkey or two - I spotted one jumping between the trees.
G. J.
Large free car park for gardens and shopping Village. If you pay the entrance fee to the gardens, then it's a great place to stroll and take the day slowly with a walk and picnic by the lake. There are also play areas for kids of different ages next to the coffee shop and restaurant in the gardens.
E.
A great day out with family, the park and estate are amazing and very relaxing. I recommend visiting café for a fresh scoop of local ice creams.
S. M.
Fantastic value day out for the family. We enjoyed the fairy trail, the huge adventure play area and barefoot walk, a ride on the miniature railway and a lovely walk around the lake.
This is a huge place with so many little hidden areas for little legs to discover. Absolutely loved it. We’ll be back.
N. G.
Great place a walk around the lake plenty to do.Get the children to find the Fairies around the Gardens.
J. B.
You can walk at your own pace around the large lake ,taking in the natural landscape. There are places to picnic and things for children to explore and do. The formal gardens offer an array of different colours throughout the year.
D. M. C.
Fabulous gardens and a wonderful walk around the lake. The planting is spectacular. Loved it and would definitely return.
Reasonable food in the cafe overlooking the lake.
B. F.
Nice place for a visit, lots of local businesses and big names, and some great local beers. Very busy the day I went, but still easy to get around.
S. S.
Beautiful gardens with sculptures depicting dandelions and fairies. A walk around the lake is easy enough for us oldies and you can ride back on the ferry if you want to for just £2. Reasonable admission prices, we used tesco club card vouchers and got excellent value for money. The shops cafes and restaurants just outside make this place a combined experience. There's a playground for the little ones and picnic tables nearby. Unfortunately on the day we visited the barefoot walk was closed but it is on my to-do list for our next visit.
J. A.
Still renewing my annual each time. Each time we go, it wows me still and we find more and more beautiful areas. Hats off to the staff for keeping it as they do. For anyone that lives in the area, definitely recommend an annual because there is no place like it. (Especially round here!!) You can spend a whole day in there with the kids, you feel so relaxed and content. Children love it.
C. R.
Fantastic evening would definitely recommend
M. K.
Really nice really nice place to go to and I enjoy going here it's good in the summer and you go with your family tent buy things different things good I enjoy it and I'm recommend it to anyone.
L. B.
Visited after a trip to Monkey Forest, which is really close.
Huge area of natural and man-made beauty, including a large lake, gardens and historic architecture. Visited on a really nice day, which made it all the better.
Lot's of nice shopping to be done as well at the myriad of outlets that are located outside the main entrance. You can even purchase old fashioned sweets and Yankee Candles.
Had a really nice time overall.
P.S. Don't forget to look for the 'hidden fairy sculptures' on the way round...
K. K.
Amazing place to visit in the height of summer, beautiful gardens, play areas for kids, excellent boat trip for a small charge all round fantastic day out.
Been here on 3 occasions over the years.
Highly recommended for all the family.
R. D.
Always enjoy trentham estate. Good atmosphere, food and toilets available, maybe a few more bins located around the picnic areas
m. m.
Great place to visit, lots of different shops to go to and lovely coffee shops and restaurants, plenty of parking
L. D.
Lovely walk around the lake and gardens.
Small ride on train for little ones. Doesn't go all the way around though.
Fantastic play area also.
Amazing replica of the Perseus vs Medusa statue from Florence.
N. P.
Outstanding garden centre and a range of interesting shops and places to eat. Didn't visit the gardens this time but they are lovely.
M. D.
Beautiful surroundings, good shops and eateries, surprisingly calm for a sunny Friday afternoon
A. M.
Love visiting Trentham Estate it's ever changing new things added . Beautiful what ever time of the year you go .The Black Swans and other wild life are so interesting on the lake .The shopping experience some thing for every one , great places to eat plenty of out side eating areas .garden centre well worth a visit .A great day out for every one .
J. B.
£12 to walk around the gardens is a bit steep however it is lovely and very nice to see
G. B.
Trentham Gardens Estate is a beautiful place to visit. The grounds are extensive and the gardens are beautiful. The Italianate house and other buildings, although in disrepair give a glimpse of how magnificent they must have been in their glory day's.
It would be wonderful if the building's could be restored to their former glory!? Again, money!
There are a variety of lovely shop's with good quality merchandise.
Plenty of places to eat and drink at reasonable prices.
There is a large free parking area. Admission into the gardens is not free. Look up the prices on the website. You can pre book. A good day out for all the family. Dog's are allowed on a short lead, but any problems with their behaviour and your dog and you could find yourselves ejected.
K. W.
Beautiful gardens with a fairy hunt trail round the lake and a barefoot trail that the kids will love. Good adventure play area and plenty of places to picnic. Scooters and bikes only allowed for under 4s. Tickets can be bought with clubcard vouchers which makes them much cheaper (normal adult price £12 or £4 of vouchers)
L. J.
Beautiful place, great children's park. On a sunny day it's great. When in the gardens food and drink are pricey but you can take your own. You also have to pay extra for the boat and train.
M. H. (.
We visited Trentham Estate which is situated next to Monkey Forest, which we had just visited, I did seem expensive compared to visiting the monkeys, but situated around a lake with separate pathways for the more active users, which has a few steep parts, plenty of sculptures around, along with the fairy sculptures, some of which can be hard to find, although there is a map available,
wheelchair users can use either path but unless you are active or the person pushing you is then I would avoid the rough path and stick to the level path, power chairs will manage most of the rough path, unless it’s a low-powered chair, and I did lose traction a few times, but managed it.
one downside is disabled toilet is very tight and if you need assistance there isn't room for anyone else, also shutting the door behind yourself is an issue due to lack of space
J. W.
Wonderful day out with the family with lovely picnic area beautifully planted out and spacious. The walk around the lake was tranquil and cool with large thoughtful planting. Plenty for the children to enjoy.
P. H.
What a beautiful experience visiting Trentham Gardens is. They have everything you need for a full day out, shopping, restaurants, sculpture, history, walks, boat trips, gorgeous picnic areas, and of course the gardens. I can't wait for our next visit.
B. T.
Only went to shopping village
Plenty places to eat and drink also my favourite shop for casual clothes cotton traders always tempted to buy
J. S.
Beautiful place. A must go. Only draw back is £12 each to get in. When theres a family of you its a bit expencive for somewere to walk round
D. L.
Every time I visit there is something new to notice.
A. Y.
Lovely gardens and a good selection of shops. Went with a gardening group and found the gardens very nice.
E. H.
Fab place. Very dog friendly. Nice little shopping village. Plenty of choice for food including vegan, gluten free and dairy free. The fairies are worth the visit. Definitely back again soon.
D. H.
Always a pleasant walk around the lake then a stroll around the shops and plenty of choice when it comes to food and drink
P. F.
Loved it it's great, we go as often as we can. The gardens are lovely at any time of year and on our visit yesterday although not too much colour it was still beautiful
S. H.
We had a lovely time walking around the gardens and then the lake! It was a windy but sunny spring day when all of nature seemed to begin to wake up again after a long sleep! We enjoyed a snugberrys ice cream at the end!
R. T.
An amazing place to visit with the family. Treated to a brass band on the stage by the lake. Huge children's play area. Dog friendly. Beautiful grounds. Couldn't ask for more from a day out.
D. G.
Beautiful place, well worth the entrance fee. Plenty of places for kids to run and play areas to go wild in. There are a couple of choices for places to eat too with great food, perfect for a sunny day
C. B.
The gardens are truly beautiful, lots of good walking. Cafes, ice cream, kids areas, and a great walk around the lake (or you can catch the little train, or the boat). If you don't have a pass you need to go to the main entrance, otherwise you can park at monkey forest end or the main entrance. It's a good day out. Dogs welcome but have to stay on leads.
R. B.
Great place to visit fantastic cafe in the gardens, best cream teas in the area must be booked mind
A. T.
This was a 'dog owners day'.
A dog jumped up and literally took my cake as I was eating it!
The owner was mortified and apologised but spoilt my day.
If you don't like dogs, don't go on this day.
J. H.
Great Day out the food was a bit on the pricey side but overall a nice family day out.
C. J.
Love this place, plenty to see and do. Trails, park, gardens, train, boats and even fairies.Set in such beautiful surroundings. I have visited for years and we never get bored. I have loved seeing this place evolve.
M. C.
This place is amazing! We just loved it! The selection of shops you can't find on high street is great if you're looking for something special. The gardens itself are vast, so much to do! The playground is one of the best we've seen. We especially enjoyed looking for the fairies as the sculptures were just extraordinary and the sensory walk, particularly walking through the muddy part!
Ps. A little tip! Bring a towel and soap to wash out the mud! There are lockers and facilities to wash your feet but the water is cold and it's proper mud!
D. H.
Lovely place in summer, bleak in winter but the garden's are beautiful all year round
S. K.
Wonderful before it gets mega busy at lunchtime! Stroll around the gardens early morning and it's lovely. Find a shady table by the playground and enjoy a cup of tea while the kids play.
M. H. (.
Great set-up. Lots of free parking
Large variety of shops and eating places. The gardens are spectacular, the best part, especially if you love grasses, designed by Piet Oudolf. The Italian gardens are also beautiful, and to set it all off, there's a large lake to wander around.
F. A.
Nice place to take the little one out for the day. Beautiful scenery. Play area. 15-20 outlet shops and a couple of restaurants. They also have a place called monkey forest. You have to pay for this separately which wasn't clearly advertised. That's the reason for the 4/5.
R. M.
Very nice with unique and quirky shops, however don't expect a cheap day
R. S.
Great gardens that have something to look at all year round. Great playground for the kids including an awesome barefoot walk. The lake can freeze over in winter which provides much amusement for the kids to skid pebbles over. A good walking track around the lake for the dogs and a nice array of sculptures. We are annual pass holders but I think the entrance fee for casual users is a bit steep. The café inside the park does good food.
G. A.
A walk through the gardens spotting fairy structures on a blustery day with showers. Stipped on the way home from another trip and glad we didn't drive 3 hours each way just to see the gardens - expecting more of a wow factor.
S. W.
Interesting destination!
Missed out on the monkey forest due to adverse weather but managed to take in the gardens, grounds and strangely, retail village at the entrance.
The gardens are spread around the lake constituting a decent 30 minute stroll with lots of unique and interesting carvings and sculptures dotted about. Interesting arrangements of snowdrops in the shape of flocks of swallows on the lawn-like areas. The house itself is derelict and looks to be undergoing some repairs but looks like it could be picturesque. There are also some adjoining and adjacent buildings of the same vintage but in somewhat better states of repair. The main garden in front of the house looks like it would be pretty but in the dead of winter didn't have much to show. There is a deer park skirting the path around the lake on the side near to the monkey forest and on the opposite shore, a miniaturised railway (not the type that can be ridden)
There are a number of cafés nearby, mostly concentrated in the log cabin retail village.
The village itself has a strange selection of shops from boutique outlets selling art, clothing, souvenirs etc along with various eateries and coffee shops. All well staffed, tended and selling quality goods. There's also a newsagent and a branch of the works!
Notable among them are a shop selling their own plethora of flavoured liqueurs, balsamic vinegar and oils; and a small cabin stocked with a rich selection of hats and gloves.
Surrounding the large carpark are a couple of more commercial restaurants and a hotel.
Definitely a good variety for a day out. Perhaps more suited to families and children on days when the monkey forest is accessible.
i. g.
It's a beautiful place. Well worth the time for a leisurely stroll. A bit over priced but enjoyable 😉
C. W.
Fabulous venue for a summer evening concert! Great band recreating the seventies sounds.
D. C.
Fabulous gardens and easy accessible. A joy. Lots of choice in the shopping village. Great atmosphere, variety of places to eat. Delightful
R. B.
Lovely place to walk around and relax. Lovely food places to choose from in and out of the garden. Great for kids place for them to play as you sit and relax and even have an ice-cream. Great to revisit to see how the gardens change thought out the year.
F. B.
Love going here with my mum and son. Good family day out. Lovely big garden centre with multiple restaurants and cafes. The lake walk is perfect for kids and dog walkers. It's really looked after and pretty. Lots of shops and retailers to. Decent amount of parking but come early on weekends to get parked up.
G. B.
Fantastic shopping village with a veriety of shops and large garden centre .
Also gardens to enjoy with entrance fee but allow plenty of time to do both as you can spend all day round the garden's.pleanty of places to eat and drink with wide variety of prices. A good day out .
b. s.
Trenthem is well worth a visit. Plenty of individual shops and assorted eateries, plus of course the lovely garden centre and it's gardens. Superb parking and toilet/disabled facilities.
j. j.
Beautiful lake and gardens with quirky sculptures and amazing views. There are play areas to entertain little ones and places to sit and eat. A lovely day out for all.
P. B.
What stunning displays of wild flowers it was a feast for your eyes everywhere you looked was a delight Fairy sculptures were beautiful and the Butterfly display for the Donna Louise Hospice for young children was a work of art.
M. R.
Always a great place to visit with family, friends or just to get away from the working blues.
A great place to find those unique gifts not available in regular shops.
Plenty of food choices to chose from and coffee shops.
P. G.
A great day out. A very good large garden centre and indoor main shopping area with restaurant and café. An outdoor shopping mini village with a variety of shops, some popular names, also cafés and bars. Two eateries by the carpark.
Then there are the Gardens which you have to pay on entry. A large lake with footpath all the way around, lots and lots to see and do. Check the website for more as I couldn't possibly tell it all here. Recommended.
C. O.
It was beautiful day we really loved the walk around the lake but £12 each l feel is expensive just for a walk
M. M.
Huge park, nice views and lots of space to walk around. There was a lot of people in, but never felt crowded. Definitely worth the price and an two hour journey.
M. W.
What a fantastic experience for young and old. Good weather helped to make it a special visit. We will be back!
a. O.
Beautiful grounds and gardens. We had a lovely walk along the lake side admiring the views and birds along the way. Good cafe facilities available and a fab playground area too. We enjoyed the formal gardens, which weren't quite as manicured as some you see, but very beautiful nontheless
R. E.
A lovely set of gardens well worth the current entry fee. There is a huge lake, children’s play area, mini train and boat rides, several trails and statues, and plenty of food outlets just outside the gardens. A really nice day out regardless of the season in which you visit.
r. b.
Love visiting this place, we used to live nearby and when we return to the area we always try and stay here.
D. L.
Beautiful relaxing place certainly gives your mental health a big lift as well really enjoyed seeing the wildlife and our first ever sighting of a kingfisher over the small river absolutely fantastic xx
S. M.
Large garden walks. Great shops. Easy to spend entire day. Lots of parking. Country walks. Tesla Superchargers. Couple of none Tesla chargers.
A.
Well maintained gardens and a couple of miles walk round the lake. Good if you have a push chair / wheel chair. It's quite expensive at £12 entry. I have a year pass which I got through Tesco Clubcard, which was a bargain. As well as gardens there are also large areas of wildflowers and a river which runs along one side. There is a bird hide by the river where I've seen a kingfisher. Lots of swans and also a pair of black swans.
B.
Lovely place to take a little one for a walk. Decent shops too. Toilets and baby changing facilities are nice and clean.
G. W.
Beautiful place for a winter walk, loads of bird wildlife including black swans, great shopping zone with some great bespoke shops and restaurants. Walk, shop, eat, drink!!! Love it....
S. W.
Beautiful estate, take your dogs and go. Even now worth a visit. Plenty of outdoor activity,do the barefoot walk, see the fairies, enjoy a Staffordshire oat cake for lunch!
J. K.
A must visit place beautiful walk around the lake and plently of places outside the gardens to eat and drink also some very good shopping outlets
D. U.
Lovely, pretty spot with loads of space. Easy parking with good cafes, quality children’s play area, and even some shops just outside. Often have extra seasonal events in the shopping village too. Excellent value annual pass, but is a bit too expensive for day tickets.
R. A.
A special place, walking the gardens & lake are tops.
M. C.
Great place to take a walk. Entry fee is a little on the steep side but at least you can see that they're investing in the place.
E. K.
Beautiful place...lovely walks around the lake...fab shops...when open...lovely food and the garden centre is great...the flowers around the gardens and lake are beautiful in any season...and the metal faeries and sculptures are fab....some piccy's from last summer...🌿🍀🌻🌼🌸
T. M.
Had a fantastic day today especially after yesterday when my power chair was flat and garden staff helped us back to the car. Thanks guys you couldn't have been more helpful and made a stressful time ok.
The flowers plants and sculptures all look fantastic lots of work has been done yet again. It's well worth our annual subscription where I can safely wheel around.
r. p.
Great place for a wander with range of eateries etc. Interesting Capability Brown landscaped gardens.
M. S.
We stayed at the premier Inn on the trentham estate and it was amazing. You can fill an entire weekend with interesting things to do. There's the estate itself, the garden centre (wow),the restaurants, the logcabin styled shops, the monkey forest and the hotel itself.Summer or winter it's just a lovely place to be and it's quite central to everywhere.
H. R.
Super garden centre but definitely on the pricey side. The shops are attractive but many empty units. Several food outlets but nothing plain and simple for families.
D. S.
Garden centre good..... shopping outlets great... large queue for the gardens hence only 4 stars.... can't wait to experience on the next visit.
D. H.
Lovely gardens & lake - the shopping and dining experience was pretty poor due to the preponderance of tatty ‘jubilee’ bunting and merchandise🫣
A. C.
Trentham Shopping Village, Delightful Wander Around in the Sun... Down Side is the Hundreds of Dogs!
Did Not Venture into the Gardens. Not Tempted at the Price, Is it Amazing???
A. H.
Great place to visit with the family or just walk round the shops and have some lunch with the other half, loads of different and interesting shops, nice garden's and some great places to eat.
b. r.
The Christmas Lights Displays were so Wonderful and Magical. Well worth the visit, and would Recommend to not Miss them, a Delight for young and old. Would give 10 Stars xx
P. D.
Expecting a Spring floral display. Bit disappointing but the sculptures, greenery and water were lovely. Loads of nice shops.
A. D.
The Christmas 🎄 event was unbelievably good better than Blackpools illuminations in my opinion
M. K.
Great day out walking beautiful gardens and woodland
D. W.
Visited Trentham Estate on Wednesday, hadn't been before and it was lovely. Even a bit out of season there was plenty to see. Highly recommend it, will certainly be going again.
J. W.
As a season ticket holder I get to arrive early and took full advantage to walk round the lake , catching glimpses of herons through the trees. Felt very special. My grandchildren loved the play area and the very tame swan who visited. Only problem was persuading them to stop and eat
C. G.
Lovely gardens, cafe to eat, events at certain times, you need good weather, very good for walking, adventure playground for children.
C. P.
Lovely gardens and good park & barefoot walk for kids. *Take a towel with you*
The small ride-on cars for kids need renewing, as people allow their LARGE kids to use and break them. Overall a good day out, can easily spend a full day here.
A. M.
Excellent day out on a warm day,no rain! Lovely scenery and facilities will definitely visit again
C. J.
Never visited before but will definitely go back in the summer to see the gardens in bloom. Enjoyed walking around the gardens and lake. The fairy sculptures were lovely. Enjoyed lunch and shopping in the shopping village. The garden centre was amazing.
L. B.
Great day out. For families of all ages. Take a picnic as we had a long wait for food. Dogs welcome.
J. K.
Stunning gardens , a hidden gem and not far off the M6 if you are travelling near Stoke. Shopping village is lovely but the garden centre is amazing!
J.

R. E. (.
We have an annual pass so can visit as many times as you like_ we love the walk around the lake and the Italian gardens are looking great at the moment

M. s.
Nice place. I enjoyed the village shopping experience too
H. C.
Had a lovely morning browse around the shops. Was nice to get out in the sunshine even if it was a little windy .
A. T.
Lovely dog friendly shops
With lots of out door seating
Brought a beautiful fragrance diffuser from a store called Jeanies smells divine
S. L.
We went very early spring and it was lovely but I feel like the gardens would be much better in late spring/summer
J. C.
Absolutely fabulous. It is such a beautiful place. Went for the parkrun and stayed for brunch and shopping. So much to do and see.
S. C.
Very quiet on a Monday - and a good proportion of stores weren't open. Sadly, this potentially popular destination seems to need a bit of a refresh.
M. S.
A good day there today, although the cafe by the lake is card payment only, they have no trays, no water bowls for dogs, and the biggest no no the drinks cups clearly marked biodegradable all go in bins which are not recycled
E. H.
Stayed overnight at Premier Inn Hotel at Trentham, so we had a look round the shopping precinct & we were very impressed 👌👍definitely going to return. Eddie & Val Hutchinson Co, Durham.
J. R.
Great visit for the Christmas lights, expensive but you gets what you pay for! It was well organized tranquil and the decorated trees with fairy lights etc were fantastic it reminded me of what Disney World has been doing for years.
N. F.
Only went to the shops and cafe in the garden centre. But all super lovely shops, friendly staff and very clean place. Would visit again.
A. L.
Members and the gardens constantly change with the seasons love walking around them.

C. A.
Didn't walk around the gardens but the garden centre and shops outside are fantastic for different idea's
I. D.
A beautiful location with a lovely path all the way around the lake. Entrance fee is approximately £10 which I find expensive.
m. l.
The weather was rainy when we arrived. We went into the garden centre. We looked around and it was very Christmassy. We did look around the shopping village. There were lots of different individual shops and cafes to choose from. Would certainly go back hopefully when not so wet!!
M. W.
Lovely place to walk round so much to see and take photos off definitely would go again
G. W.

Nice old ruined building
C. B.
Bank Holiday Sunday a nice place to visit and walk round the village, toilets and plenty of parking area's.
L. M. T.
Shops are limited to outdoors shops and those that appeal to the older generation. Trentham Estate itself is a pretty place to walk around but very overpriced for what it is.
M. H.
Brilliant place for kids and disability it was amazing very dog friendly as well would recommend to go good day out x
G. C.
Great place for a family day out.
C. F.
Lots of shops and places to eat. Only thing was there were a lot of dogs. I know they were all on leads but even do some of the bigger ones were going after the little ones in a nasty way. Could be frightening to nervous people
A. A.
Eclectic garden centre and lovely varied food and shopping options. Great buying browsing and eating opportunities with the option to enter Trentham Gardens for entry fee
C. C.
Really nice park especially if you have a dog or like long walks in nature. My only complaint is that the entry is a little overpriced.
B. E.
Beautiful garden estate. Lots of lovely walks. Nice buildings. Statues. Wildlife.

The gardens are beautiful all year round and the lake is great for a walk around. The facilities are excellent and always well kept. There's a good selection of shops and cafes in the shopping village
V. J.
So many lovely shop's to look in, no pressure to buy. The cafe was delightful and coffee was great. Nothing was too much trouble extra hot water was provided with a smile. The garden centre restaurant was happy to accommodate a disabled Scooter and the food was delicious and very well presented.
G. S.
Pleasant day out. Lovely shops and restaurants, and beautiful gardens.

A great day out, so much to offer, lot of independence shops, from eating and drinking to household and gardening.
A. r.
Beautiful landscape with plenty of flaura and fauna for any photographers from amatures such as myself to professionals you could find something to shoot wherever you went
p. s.
didnt go around the grounds as it would have cost £12.59 each. we went to the pub instead and got waisted .
S. B.
Love it here, so much choice and staff around the shops are very friendly and helpful
S. C.
Well with a visit. Lovely lake-side walks, quirky carvings and metal sculptures, and a huge Italian inspired formal garden area. Allow 1.5 hours to take it all in, and if you enter after 5pm admission is reduced to £6 pp.
K. B.
Went here with sister for a lovely walk round the shops really had a great time out xx
C. H.
Lovely choice of individual shops. Fabulous gardens. Prices may be slightly prohibitive

D. L.
Stunning place to visit. Highly recommend especially in the sunshine of late. Great day out
L. M.
I love walking around the gardens, because of mobility problems I don't do it so much now. But today I went with my son, we took a slow walk ( said I had mobility probs lol) up to the delicious cafe for a warm drink, (wind was bitter cold) then took a walk through the show gardens, I hadn't walked around them for quite awhile. I have mixed feelings bout them now. I use to love walking around there, but the sound garden as now gone, I use to love sitting there as it was a sun trap, & very relaxing listening to the sounds coming from there, also I could see all the birds flying in & out the wildlife garden. ( So pleased to see some of the shrubs have been cut back & bird feeders back in there again now, saw several species of birds there again today). Not too sure about what seems like a play area there for children, what's that doing there? when they have a lovely big play area now in the main gardens. You can only go up to the secret garden as rest blocked off, supposedly doing couple more, but been like that since I last went which was before Christmas so what happening there?. But the gardens themselves (the Italian gardens that is ) are beautiful & a wonderful display of flowers now so well done to the gardener's for all their hard work there.
G. B.
Stopped here again for a quick charge at the Tesla chargers, really pleaseant arrangement of stores & facilities too, particularly the Nachos & hotdog stall. Thanks!
M. B.
Nice enough place. Lots of shops outside of the estate and a lovely walk if you pay to go in.
I use it as a VRP when flying to know where I am as its pretty large with distinctive lakes
D.
For a day out the gardens are well tidy and the staff were very caring and kind the scenery is very picturesque.
C. W.
Lovely day today walking around the lake, half way round sat outside with a mug of hot tea and a tea cake at the little cafe. Always plenty to see with the changing seasons.
J. S.
Sad to see the state of the buildings but very glad that further decay is being prevented. Will the original Hall be recreated as I understand, has been suggested.
A.
Monkey Forrest is a nice place to take the kids and the estate is very scenic to walk around
M. D.
Lovely gardens to walk around and shops to look. It is really busy with loads of dogs
M. C.
Great day out, bonus that dogs are welcome in all shops and restaurants on sire
G. H.
Great place for a level walk around the log cabins that house the shops and eateries to the garden centre that is large with everything you can imagine for your garden. There are also 2 restaurants in the garden centre and toilets around the whole site. Also you will find a charging area if you have a electric vehicle. If that was not enough there is a huge beautiful private garden that you can pay to go in and a Premier Inn Hotel if you wanted to make a long weekend of it or longer. Such a beautiful place to spend some time.
P. P.
There's lots to do here, many shops, very popular. Try and avoid the weekend or bank holidays.
D. J.
Delightful and extensive gardens which are maintained to a high standard, 3 mile lakeside walk, shopping village and large garden centre. Good road access from the M6.
j. j.
Much more extensive than I realised. Give yourself plenty of time if you want to enjoy the full benefit of your visit. Loads to see! Well worth a visit.
T. p.
Had a lovely mother's day 💕 at Trentham village as always gorgeous place to visit and shop.
h. W.
It's what you'd expect, some shops and restaurants. Gardens are not free and have their own price. It's nice for a few hours.
M. J.
Expensive to go in. House missing, old buildings left to rot. Clock is amazing to see loved it every time go in. After gardens lake that clock is worth see. Should the ball room have bin knocked down. You can see wall left of it arch as you come in.
A. B.
Went to monkey forest had a good day ☺
M. B.
Great day out for families, entry cost a bit ££ but ow well
s. c.
Shops are good for outdoor clothes etc but gardens expensive for what's inside.
J. P.
Very interesting. Something for everyone. Nice walks. Beautiful and interesting sculptures... The list goes on...
L. J.
The staff on reception not very welcoming. A very good walk around the lake which is beautiful but at this time of year there is not much planting to be seen. Will be great when all the lights are in place for winter visit.
C. C.
Surprised to say the least. Had a great trip out with the dog and waffle and ice cream in the rain. Whats not to like, will be returning soon.
A. L.
Lovely gardens could spend the whole day plenty to do and see
W. T.
A sweet selection of wooden style Lodge shops and restaurants. A large Blue Diamond Garden Centre. The Monkey Forest is a 2 minute drive away and cost around £9 per adult. The Gardens were £12.50 per Adult. It was nice as a stop off in our onward journey.
H. R.
Lovely gardens, beautiful maintained year round. There was an issue with blue-green algae in the lake at the time we visited, but they had very well cordened off the area, and there were plenty of pumps in place to try and treat the water. Love it here regardless, I would recommend highly!
M. H.
Amazing gardens for a Parkrun, loads of cafes and place to sit to enjoy the gardens
J. B.
Nice little retail village. Easy to find on the A34. Parking is really easy and very close to the shops. Good range of retail outlets and food outlets. There is even a large and interesting garden centre. The surrounding area is very pleasant. Definitely worth a look.
j. s.
Food in garden centre was overcooked and cold. Entrance to garden was overpriced.
T. O.
Great place to visit. Walk through the Italian gardens and round the lake. Two nice cafes to sit and enjoy the views. A really great play area for children with very clean toilets adjacent to it on the cafe. There are boat trips in the summer and take a run on tge miniture railway, children love it.
There is also the excellent shopping complex located round the entrance with plenty of really nice eateries.
We'll worth a visit all through the year but obviously the gardens are at their beatific best through the summer months.
S. R.
Used Tesla Superchargers. Did not use any other facilities. Looked nice though.
C. R. H.
On a very special visit to my hometown of Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire I met a few of my friends from the City at the lovely Trentham Gardens Estate. This attraction has a very unique walk through Monkey Forest and splendid Gardens and Shops / Cafes / Etc! :)
On this occassion though I just sat with my friends in a cafe, chatting about, 'The Good Old Days' Etc and watching all the breeds of dogs, (the Trentham Estate is very dog friendly!) parading around the Estate! :) If in Stoke-on-Trent I always try and visit the Trentham Estate, and other nearby attractions in the Potteries Etc. So why not enjoy the Trentham Estate today?! :)
s. m.
Had a brilliant time here, first visit and will definitely go again
T. J.
Love this place... went the waffle place they were amazing
D. W.
Worth coming down here today to see the flowers and grasses. Great to run your hands through the grasses. Lovely feeling!
Very tranquil to sit at the base of the trees and just listen to the wind going through the branches and hear the birds!
A. A.
The team were great, ive recently had a motorbike accident and the offered me a wheelchair, helped get it set up and really helped make my first outing since the accident really nice.
M. H.
It was great we completed the park run then went to Rotisserie cafe for breakfast and bought a card for my friend from 44
N. E.
Great range of shops and a number of eateries.
Some lovely walks around the lake if pay to enter the gardens, but cost to enter them on the steep side (preventing a 4 star rating).
Gardens looking lovely in spring and quiet a few new sculptures.
Also seem a lot more events these days so really could do with a 2nd exit to ease congestion.
J. V.
A lovely walk around the lake, shame you have to pay, though I understand that the maintenance needs to be paid for.
P. B.
A great place to spend a few hours on a nice sunny day.
A. R.
Only went to the shopping village part, Howe we the changes over the last year have been great. Some great shops, bars and restaurants have moved in, giving the place a much better vibe. Really busy, so allow for crowds.
J. R.
Beautiful shopping arcade. We ate at Rotisserie, a sandwich bar. The food was excellent.
The disabled WC facilities are by far the best I have ever had to use. Spotlessly clean, well equipped, and well stocked.
Well worth a day out
S. B.
Lovely individual shops, plus the beautiful garden centre, ample cafes & restaurants, something for everyone here.
a. c.
Great collection of plants in picturesque garden's. Lots of points of interest and statues around the garden's and lake
J. M.
Beautiful and very weel kept, if a little pricey for a single visit.
M. L.
Trentham Estate is a great place for a leisurely day out. There are gardens to walk around, entrance is not free though. It was £10 per person on my last visit. There is a lovely cafe/restaurant in the gardens.
On the rest of the estate there is plenty of shops and restaurants to visit in the shopping village. Also there is garden centre as well. If you do visit it is worth getting there early as it can get busy, especially in the school holidays.
K. B.
Lots 2 see the outdoor area vry spring n colourful. Also delicious food n drinks
S. P.
One of our favourite places the gardens are beautiful at the time of our visits the play area's kept the great-grandchildren busy . without the children the shops are a good mix . plenty of places for snacks and delicious ice cream.every time we have visited the toilets have been very clean. It's just a beautiful setting next to the river.
L. H.
It is a fantastic place to do some shopping and have something to eat and drink. It is a nice walk around Trentham Gardens Estate to
J. H.
Plenty of parking . Great place to go as a family or on your own . Extra admission to get into Trentham gardens . Plenty of place for a Coffee or an ice cream. A couple of restaurants to. I wi tried a few a bit more expensive but good was lovely. Cater for vegan and vegetarians . Good for pushchairs and wheelchairs around the shops a bit awkward in Trentham gardens as lots of small stones. Plenty of variety of shops if your after something different for yourself or a present . Toilets good condition and clean look Morgan Dogs are allowed on leads and there are a lot around even a dog treat shop . Lovely place to go .
P. B.
No need to book up it's a big shopping village get there early to park
A. C.
A beautiful place with lovely gardens and excellent shops.
S. H.
Absolutely love this for a nice day out with the family. Last time we visited we took my disabled mother with us it was good for pushing her in her wheelchair, we hired a gazebo to keep her in a shaded area all day. This was perfect for this although I will say it would be better to be able to pick an option on site for a gazebo with better access, as we had to ring to tell them we had a wheelchair and they would of put us in the one closest to the path. I couldn't get through after numerous times of ringing! We still got one, it was just abit of a jaunt pushing her up the path bank then again up the grass bank into the gazebo. I definitely wouldn't of done it if I was on my own with the kids. Luckily my husband was there to help us. The kids loved the barefoot walk and the play areas!
Overall lovely day out!
M. M.
A really nice walk around the lake, dotted with fairies and sculptures. The Italian Gardens and the ruined old Hall are well a look. Outside the gardens there are a lot of shops and cafes so plenty to see and do.
D. O.
Very good well worth a visit got a garden centre an array of shops and the gardens to walk around you have to pay to enter the gardens though and then there's the monkey forest
N. M.
Great day out, shopping outlet, the fabulous gardens and lakeside walks. Dog friendly, plenty places to eat inside gardens. Went next day to shopping outlet sampled the pie and mash and hot roast baps both excellent, tasty abd plentiful at a reasonable price.
Y. C.
Lots of interesting shops and food openings, felt well regulated and safe.
Concert venue organised and safe too, though the lights were a bit blinding on the way out!
Will hopefully return to explore the gardens etc properly before too long.
j. w.
Had a lovely day here today Saturday 4th September. We arrived at midday and took our time walking around. I would say it took us around 2 and half hours to get all the way around. Wish we would've took a picnic now though as there was plenty of benches and grassy areas to sit. The shops were nice to look around aswel.
Thoroughly enjoyed the day here at Trentham
M. B.
We always bring something home lots to look at and lovely things to go oh like that it's lovely to walk around
L. B.
A lovely morning there yesterday with my grandson who had a great time on the toy tractors and in the sand pit.
P. C. P. (.
Fantastic place,loads to see.
Loverly food im resturant.
Great day out for the family
K. C.
Gardens open with one way covid system. Always immaculate and plenty to see. Personally I think a bit overpriced. Perhaps special concessions for locals?
K. C.
Good bunch keep rolling with life.wet day tomorrow we'll that's what keeps the grass green.
P. W.
Thoroughly enjoyed visiting this place, late in the season but still some colour. Saw black swans, heron but sadly ran out of time so didn't get to see all the village shops. Garden Centre worth a visit as well the monkey forest.
C. R.
A truly splendid place that is clearly very well maintained. The formal garden is stunning and the fairy sculptures are exquisite. Next a walk around the lake is a must, the paths are very good and the café at the far end is very welcome, look out for the black swans. There are other paths to be explore which sadly we didn't have time to complete.
H. H.
Always love a meander around Trentham...shopping..walks in the gardens..good food..the garden centres always a must!
N. S.
Lovely estate to walk around ~the lake is a pit pongy at the moment due to the blue/green algae ~the flora and fauna are just wonderful ~there are cafes at both ends of the lake which offer good quality snacks and drinks and views of the lake. There are plenty of good quality shops and restaurants and also a garden centre.
T. C.
Fantastic place to visit, also dog friendly. Keep a look out for the fairies.
C. B.
Great place to visit for all ages. Looks different in different seasons
S. P.
Beautiful gardens, hugely dog friendly, well laid-all paths, nice shops and eateries, entirely staffed by friendly, helpful people; what's not to like? A really terrific day out. We'll be back.
R. H.
Clean tidy.
Had lunch in the glass house it was vety fast and tasteful. Reccomend you call in gor lunch.
Not many foid choices in the huts but the glass house more than made up for that
K. B.
Wow a great dining experience the food and service was excellent
S. T.
Wonderful place for a day out wondering around garden centre and shopping village
J. P.
I am an annual member as I enjoy the calm peaceful gardens. There is always room to enjoy some quiet time with nature even on the busiest days. I took my 9 year old grandson with me and he playing disc golf and identifying the plants so much that I have bought him an annual pass too so that we can enjoy many more days together this summer.
C. C.
Wonderful gardens to wander around. Well maintained. Varied and many beautiful, different plants. The wire scuplture fairies and dandelions were amazing. We will definitely return. The only downside we had was a greasy sausage and cheese oatcake in the cafe just after you exit. But that's the only minor criticism
E. B.
It's a beautiful place and also huge: you can spend a whole day there with pleasure. Lots of benches to sit and enjoy the views.
The Italian gardens are gorgeous.
We had a delicious lunch at the Italian cafe.
F. E.
Love Trentham Gardens so much! Beautiful Christmas decorations at the moment, wonderful atmosphere and being outdoors. Would highly recommend to others
R. C.
Walked round the lake with a wheelchair. Good surface with gentle gradients. Tea room at halfway.
D. R.
Lovely shops - a great stop off on our travels.
J. C.
Very well maintained and lovely environment to take a stroll
P. J.
Great shopping and food place. Nice for an aimless stroll on a Sunday.
A. W.
Plenty of parking and a range of outlets the visit. Choice of places to eat and snack. Xmas sale of goods within garden centre
B. B.
Lovely place - shops and cafes and bars as well as the gardens and a huge garden centre and a Ferris wheel all lit up for Xmas. Loads of parking and easy to get to
