The woods are a lovely place for a dog walk. Very flat so no hills to climb. It's not super large but perfect for a 40 min stroll. The lake and woodlands are very pretty in the spring.

Amazing Park with good space for a nice walk. You find woods, paths, grass and lakes, great for dog walking on all terrains and the dogs can have a drink and splash when it's too hot. I will be returning more often, me and my dogs loved it there!!!

Perfect spot for a moment of peace in an otherwise busy part of town. What's good to note is the accessibility to this little walk from Princess Royal Hospital, an ideal little spot to get away from it all with some lovely trees and bird life. Also, keep an eye out for some of the great wood carvings along the trails.

So quite. So peaceful. Almost the perfect mix of woodland, water and open grassland. There is something for everyone. Compacted gravel pathways make disabled access a doddle. Even has properly decked fishing pegs. Only issue is very limited parking space.

Apley Woods is a magic natural gem in the heart of Telford. After 5 years living in Telford I decided to visit the place and I was impressed. A beautiful entire wood with majestic trees and a fantastic smell of rain and conifers today (it was raining 🙂🌧️). It is a perfect place for a walk with the children or and the dogs,you will definitely enjoy the walk.

First visit to Apley Woods, will definitely be returning as we didn't have time to view the large lake and two ponds there. Great for an afternoon walk with the kids or if you just want a leisurely stroll or run look out for the carved animals & sculptures and the information boards that explain the history of Apley Woods & Castle. Would be best to visit on a sunny or dry day. There is also a Toby Carvery half a mile down the road if you fancy lunch out. Woods & Toby easily accessible for wheelchair users.

Visited with most of my family on a Sunday. It’s such a vast beautiful place to walk through. We only had time to see half of it but what we did see was so calming. Search for the metal horse and the carvings in trees throughout the woods. There’s also a huge lake and plenty of wildlife to see. Great for families of all ages. Apley castle is now privately owned but look for the dovecote.

Beautiful place! A new firm favourite. All flat and really accessible. Especially for prams etc. Great for letting the little ones and furry ones too run wild. Met lots of very friendly other dog owners to chat to too! Lots of parking. Definitely recommend for a short easy walk. 🙂

Been here loads of times got a decent pond, popular for picnics. I like the arch of trees which go a long way and the path going straight. This is not a large woodland area though.

Apley Woods is a great place to take your children. They can look at the wood carvings dotted around. It is a lovely little walk around the woods and then around Apley pool. If you get there early you have the woods to yourself. Weekends it can get busy with dog walkers and walkers. You can park in the lay by off the main road and walk straight through to the lake or there are some parking spaces not far from the hospice where you get a limited amount of time.

Nice little walk right next to the hospital, we parked by the castle in the few marked parking spaces, car parking looks to be busy but the walk isn't. If you head down the road past the houses you will find the entrance and a map.

Nice place to go for a walk. Looks like its kept clean. Only downsides are pretty much everywhere you look you can see houses through the trees. The hum from the a442 is pretty loud too, especially by the lake. Lots of people with dogs.

Great place to go and get lost for an hour or more. Lots of dog walkers and joggers, even a few guys fishing there. It has the issusion of being completely natural, but I suspect a lot of hard work goes into keeping it looking clean and tidy. My family and I visited here yesterday for the first time. We Will definitely be coming back. Absolutely beautiful, peaceful and so happy to see it so tidy. The woods are stunning, full of beautiful wildlife and plenty of photo opportunities to be had. Loved to see that there was lots of bird house's fixed to tree's, such a kind thought. The duck pond was lovely, saw lot's of happy ducks and even a little family with babies. The signs are a great idea, educating people on what to feed the ducks. Reminding people of picking up there dog's poo and to use the bins for there litter. And I'm glad to see that it looks like people are paying attention to these and being responsible. The history board's regarding the grounds were interesting and educational. Our children loved the Cute animal sculptures, another excuse for more photo's. The lake was peaceful, boardwalks were a nice touch too. We shall be back and we will definitely be recommending to other nature, green space lover's.

Apley Woods is a pleasant walk through Woodland and several areas of water but make sure you bring your boots or wellies in the winter months as it can get a bit muddy on some of the paths.

Lovely area. Hard to believe you're in a built up area. Signage on the trails could be a lot better. The owl carvings have rotted away and are now chunks on the floor. Could improve but on the whole it's a nice enjoyable place to visit

Apley is a lovely place, which is suitable for those who prefer a gentle stroll rather than trek. Surrounded by trees, ponds wood carvings and great wildlife. Plenty of benches for those needing a rest. Very popular with all ages especially dog walkers, and those with young children.

It's an amazing place to visit. There's a meadow, a lake, a duck pond, lots of wildlife and some fabulous carvings. The paths are well tended and clearly marked as well as there being wheelchair accessible pathways. This is all within 56 acres so a good size if you only have a short time to spend here.

Have visited Apley Woods many times now. It is has very enjoyable walks with lots of biodiversity. There is a lot of historical points of interests which gives a back story of what it was like in the past. Could easily spend a couple of hours here.

Nice, small area of woodland. Lots of areas of interest here. Many of the trees have markers to identify them and information signs throughout the wood signal the many types of fauna and flora in this area. There is a small pond which houses an abundance of wildlife (visitors are requested not to feed bread to the birds here). This wood is popular for dog walkers and gets busy in nicer weather and weekends. It is also very popular with young families due to the many wood carved animals that can be found along the picturesque paths. Highlights include stone seats, unique sculptures and a long romantic tunnel formed by the branches of trees either side of the avenue.

I live near here so have known of it's existance for over 40yrs. Great woods for walking your dogs as there are several little paths and therefore lots of dogs either on or off leads. They often do specialist walks for families and days out.

My husband and I are getting into walking, we were in Telford for an event, afterward we decided to keep our commitment and look for somewhere nearby to walk. You can download a map on-line and it shows two walks. Neither take very long if you're able enough, it's mostly flat and no particularly rough areas. There are open spaces where you could have a picnic and benches dotted around. The woods has two ponds one of them large enough for fishing. The walk wasn't very challenging and only took about an hour to do both paths.

A gorgeous park with a large pond and numerous benches scattered around. Lots of little oaths winding off, and an entrance to a 50 mile treck if one desires. Well kept and dog friendly. An enchanting place.

I come here all the time to walk the dog or go for a run. It is always kept very tidy and the volunteers work hard to maintain their excuisit site and keep the pools the clean. The sculptures that have been put around the woods a few years ago are magnificent and a great addition to the area. Some have been damaged but that's not preventable. I hear of good projects they also do here within the community and with local schools too. Great place for everyone.

A nice local woodland / nature reserve with good areas for walking, ponds to see ducks and areas for cycling. Not a huge woodland, but good to walk around in about 30-40 minutes, with plenty of spurs to make an hours walk easily. Lots of history of the Apley Woods and castle to explore. Plenty of wildlife.

Would had a 5, but since building work started near by and a carpark has been made for visitors which is great, there is no signage to say which way from carpark to an entrance to the woods.
