What a fantastically entertaining evening! Mad Alice is such a talented storyteller and host. She makes an extra effort to make sure that every single person on her tour is made to feel very welcome. She remembers everyone's name and includes all of you in her tales of the history of the fabulous city of York! Don't expect a ghost walk, as there are already plenty of those. Instead she draws on the bloody, gruesome and fascinating history of this ancient city. She keeps her audience thoroughly entertained and laughing the whole time! She even tries to keep everyone safe on your walks to the various locations throughout the evening. If you're interested in the history of this unique city, this tour is well worth your time and money.

Took a tour with Mad Alice after a very long day today, so i was a bit out of gas, but Mad Alice delivered a great performance and energy throughout the trip. She is also knowledgeable with all the facts and stories. Very engaging with her audience as well. While waiting for the tour to start, I had a chance to see a few of similar tours, and I would highly recommend this if you are looking for a high energy booster to keep you engage and sink those horror stories in your brain!

We really enjoyed our tour with Mad Alice: the 90 minutes walk through York is absolutely worth its price. Mad Alice is really entertaining, customer oriented and hilariously funny. She is an amazing performer and she shares lots and lots of historical bits as well as “dark” tales about York. We definitely recommend her!

An amazing walking tour. Mad Alice is a brilliant guide and kept everything moving on so you barely even noticed you were walking! She's very knowledgeable and you can tell this isn't just a script being memorised; she could answer every question and really knew her stuff! There are quite a few tours around York that you could do but I would point you in the direction of The Bloody Tour of York, hosted by Mad Alice. Less about the ghost stories - though there is certainly a few anecdotes about ghoulish encounters - this focuses more on the grisly deaths of residents in and from the city. It is presented in an informative yet highly amusing fashion, incorporates the audience and will leave you both enlightened and emotionally moved. Mad Alice herself is a great character - she is engaging, chatty, and very interesting. Her knowledge of the city is deep, and she will also recommend other tours for you to check out in the day - her tours take place in the evening. Definitely, give The Bloody Tour of York your consideration. I left feeling like I had gotten value for money.

With absolute confidence I can say “The Bloody Tour of York” is the BEST and only walking tour that you should consider attending. “Mad Alice” is a wealth of historical knowledge, with a penchant for story telling that will have both the old and young thoroughly enthralled. The tour dives into Yorks dark history and ghostly tales providing equal parts education and entertainment. Definitely not an experience to be missed!

Mad Alice was brilliant! Not just a tour of ghosts stories, Mad Alice was full of historical facts about York. We had a great group of only seven or so so it felt very intimate and we could easily get into the small streets without a fuss. Would highly recommend. Look out for the small placard in front of the college for the tour start location. The other ghost tours we passed had such large numbers I’m surprised they could hear the host and possibly struggled trying to fit everybody down the small gates.

This walking tour is highly recommended. Mad Alice was the perfect Yorkshire wench, taking everyone back to times when life was hard and execution was barbaric. Mad Alice's sense of humor and her ability to remember everyone's names and where they came from made this a very personal tour, even though there was probably around 25 to 30 people there.

Mad Alice was a wonderful host while on the Bloody Tour of York, she certainly knew the history of York with regards to famous (and infamous) people and the local area. The tour was informative and is great for anyone that has a liking for all kinds of history, specifically the bloody and gory details of it. Mad Alice knew everyone's name within the group and made a conscious effort to speak to everyone individually within the group to ensure the tour was as personal as possible. I cannot recommend this enough, a definite must while visiting York!

Having done two other ghost/horror tours in York and this is by far the best. Mad Alice knew the names of everyone in each group, and took time to talk to each group while walking between locations. The tour was really informative and fun. When we were driving home we all agreed is was the highlight of the day. Highly recommended 5 star.
