Despite visiting Cumbria for almost 20 years, I have only just discovered Barrow Park. Safe to say we love it! It’s really good to have a wander round, the play park has been loved by my children, the greenhouse is beautiful, we had way too many slushies and my partner was like a child at Christmas getting to see and ride the miniature steam train. We definitely recommend going here and we can’t wait to come back!

Barrow Park is a fairly big park that incorporates a lot of variety as in, it has a very good, soft floored park with plenty for younger ones to do. It has bowling greens, it has boating lake, it has a little train ride, it has a massive variety of trees and plants and wildlife. It has easy cycle /walkways, crazy golf and a nursery all of its very own with tropical plants and fountain inside. And I will of even forgot things of that list. It's a lovely place to visit.

Barrow Park is a real gem and a pleasant surprise. Beautiful trees and flowers with wide open spaces and a nice boating lake with plenty of bird life. Lovely war memorial with poppies still being placed. Children's park is great but the kids loved the train ride the best. Gentlemen running the miniature train ride were gentlemen who took time to show the train engines to the children after their ride. Everything safe and people were sensible with hygiene and social distancing during our visit...we will be back....thank you!

Tough but enjoyable parkrun in the morning followed by ice cream in the cafe afterwards. My children loved the play area after (and I wished I was their age again as well). The putting green looked good as well, shame I didn't have time to play. Plenty of parking on the road outside the park too, a lovely park to spend time in.

A great park to bring the kids. Nice skatepark and gym area, plus a great multi use play area for the kids to play in which consists of normal swings and children's swings, a giant wooden play castle with 3 slides, some stepping stones / wobbly wooden planks, a roped climbing frame, zip line and mini wooden children's area.

Barrow Park.. what can I say? A beautifully landscaped public park. Great play area for kids,well kept outdoor bowls lawns. A massive variety of well established,mature trees, squirrels and other wildlife seen daily. Beautiful park lake, just a shame there is no boats anymore. The gardeners and wardens take great pride in keeping the park tidy, well kept. Colourful plants are merticulously planted throughout the year in keeping with the change of seasons. A great dog walking place. Well done to all the staff that keep it a special place.

A lovely space in the middle of a slightly depressed town. It’s full of flowers random little spaces to sit in, and is home to large white geese. It also hosts the full of noise festival every year which means coming across the most unusual sounds you’ll hear in a park and weird transformations to the mini pitch and put course.

Beautiful park. My 1 Yr old granddaughter loved the playpark and a picnic by the lake. Ducks, seagulls and Canada geese were amusing but made a terrible mess. It is hilly and steep in places so a bit challenging with a buggy but a lovely place to visit.

We always have a fab time at Barrow park. Theres lots of different paths to explore and its full of nature. There has been some great attractions recently added for children to explore such as the Giant Spiders in the tree's, the Bug Hotel and the Mud man. The play area is great my little one really enjoys it. There is also a skate park, mini train ride and boats available to hire. And not forgetting the lovely little cafe that sell small snacks, drinks and ice cream! Highly recommended 😊

We visit here regularly with our children. The plants and flowers are well maintained. The paths are generally in good condition. There could do with maybe a little more to do for kids in a different area of the park but that's just a personal preference as there is currently a sizable play area in the centre of the park (which is well maintained). I do enjoy living near this park- especially in the summer.

Pleasant park with nice walks. During the summer you can rent boats on the lake. There is a greenhouse that is looked after by the park staff which hosts a fantastic range of fauna. There is a small pitch and putt range next to the playground. There is also a reasonable concrete skate park. Parking is available next to all entrances with exception to the ones on Abbey Road.

A cool relaxing and exciting place for both adults and children. In sunny weather, one could do a lotta things from the kids play zone to several football pitches, a walk along the lake with some great friendly birds, great views and wide flowery spaces for a family picnic!

Very pleasing, Barrow has some great places to visit! I myself love a good walk round the Abbey I wish people could see Barrow through my eyes... Walked in the Abbey walked through a field and had loads of cows coming to meet me and not forgetting that itch under the chin lol... I cant think of a more better place to just relax and chill out... its a great place Barrow sometimes you need to open your eyes and just enjoy our lovely little town

I used to cycle past Barrow Park with judgement and indignation, thinking it was probably a neglected area for tramps etc. How wrong I was! I live in Barrow now and have cycled, walked a dog, thrown a frisbee and sometimes just sat. It's an important part of our lives to have green spaces and Barrow Park is more than that.

Great place to have a cold one with the boys and take Mary-Jane for a walk. Lots of shade available from the trees and hut like structures for on hot days as well as open areas to play football. A shop is in the centre of the park, perfect to cure the munchies and dry mouth.

Barrow park is a fairly nice place to go play with your kids or sit in the sun. Unless you have a car or even a bus ticket to take a short trip into into the stunning south lakes. It has facilities for kids of different ages to play. I would like to say that it is a nice place for local people to walk their dogs however dogs are not allowed off their leads. I suppose this could be to prevent local inbreds who have no idea how to train a dog, letting loose their viscous staffies (love staffs, have one myself) on the happy park goers a couple times a year when they can be bothered to be all them. All in all an OK park for local parents to take their kids, oap's to feed the ducks but being located in arguably one of the most beautiful parts of the country, it is nothing the write home about and I doubt will be on a postcard anytime soon.

Excellent. Barrow's green lung close to the town centre. There's large play areas for the children, large open spaces for playing football, a bandstand, a mini golf course, a sailing lake, a miniature railway (only open on Sundays during the summer), an indoor garden, the Park Leisure Centre with its pool, gym, soft play, and outdoor pitches, and finally the the Cenotaph which stands on top of the hill over looking the park grounds and the town. Access is from Abbey Road, Park Avenue, Greengate Street, and Park Drive where car parking is available.

A nice park just outside the town centre. There is a playground for little kids and (in summer at least) a park shop selling drinks and ice creams. Let down by the sheer amount of dog feaces over the grassed areas which caused threadworm in my children.

This is a beautiful park and a "Jewel in the Crown" for Barrow-in-Furness, very well kept and maintained, an amazing day out for the family and without the heavy burden on the wallet. Whether it is the swings, flora and fauna, rowing on the lake, there is plenty to do and see. Certainly taken for granted by many locals who do not appreciate the splendour of this place.

A nice park with some nice walks and a lovely park for children to play in. There is also a cafe and a health centre within the park that you can visit too, although it can be a little expensive depending on your budget. There is also a children's railway ride that is open during certain times of the year which is run by a local engineers club. Good place to go for a run and there is a friendly park run event that runs here once a week. Popular place for families and the elderly as well as those who just need some peace. Be aware there is a heavy seagull and geese population near the pond at the bottom of the park. They can be quite protective of their land and their young, probably best not to feed them as they end up leaving their mess everywhere. The Park is also popular for local events especially where there are fairs and charity fund raising events held, along with civic cermonies including Rememberance Sunday. At the top of the park there is also a cenotaph where Rememberance is held to those lost during conflict. Overall, a nice spot but let down at bird mess and occasional flooding during heavy weather.
