Reviews of Ampthill Park
K. W.
Lovely well maintained park, part of the green sand ridge. Lots of benches and wood area offering shade. Dog friendly though be warned fouling is strictly forbidden in the park due to the wildlife - lots of dog bins available.
M. W.
Great park for all ages, nice small cafe and toilets available. Free to park !! Walking through woods was great day out with my grandson. Chasing squirrel and generally exploring.
T. F.
A beautiful historic park where Catherine of Aragon was confined whilst awaiting the annulment of her marriage to Henry VIII.
Also X marks the spot where Kit William's treasure, the Golden Jewelled Hare was buried, sought after by many in his treasure hunt book "Masquerade".
R. M.
Amazing place to visit if you want an walk through the woods or to get your kid’s burn some energy, I guarantee your kids will love it. Highly recommended you won’t be disappointed
D. B.
A beautiful park kept in tip top condition, beautiful views etc, great for walking the dogs. Small cafe on site selling hot drinks and snacks. It's a very large park incorporating Ampthill football and cricket grounds, many varied walks both long and short, well worth a visit.
T.
A beuitful place to go for a walk or picnic. With views over the hills and far away and spectacular old huge trees. Mandeep chia food stall was there too and it was amazing. Fresh foods friendly atmosphere.
D. D.
Been my go to place for peace and quiet for many years. Stunning views across the Marston valley. Kids play area and coffee shop. Two intereting monuments, one in memory of the first world war training camp which was in the park and one to Katherine of Aragon, Henry VIII first wife. She had stayed at a castle which was in the park.
S. G.
The park is really well looked after, the coffee shop is a great addition with friendly staff. It's well laid out for those with mobility issues considering it is a natural environment. The views are wonderful and with three lovely walks of various lengths. Really recommended
R. C.
One of our favourite places to walk the dogs
S. O.
Superb historic country park. Henry VIII and a spurned Queen locked in a castle, a jewelled Golden Hare buried in the shadow of a cross and British Tommies, training for WW1. Add fantastic walks, a wood, a fishing pond, a brilliant playground with stuff for toddlers through to young teens, very decent tennis courts an all weather table tennis table and last but not least a cafe with tons of seating and delicious food, tea and coffee. Clean accessible toilets too. Pack up a picnic rug and head over for a fantastic family day out in beautiful surroundings. Dogs love it too. Enjoy
S. D.
Beautiful place, lovely walks and views and a great kids play area, with newly planted wild flower areas and sunflowers. Somewhere to grab cuppa too...perfect.
