Beautiful park 😍 ❤️ a lot of birds 🐦 hungry 🐦 birds
Nice park to walk, also here is benches, at evening here is lights ,very nice and beautiful 🥰
Free car park 🙌 😎
S. H.
Free parking for up to 2 hours which was plenty of time needed for us to have a lovely stroll along the river in the shade of the trees. Lots of wild birds especially swans, geese and ducks.
D.
It is good to spend alone with the birds. Birds are just God's gift to us and are so majestic and beautiful. When I get there to feed these birds they come in many and are not scared of me. I even pet them they seem un-bothered. Though the swans and geese have sharp beaks sometimes got to be careful. They're quite strong as I fed a bit hard baguette bread and integral one which they can break, though when is a bit hard they go to the water to sip it so that the bread becomes soft to chew.
The seagulls make loud noise as a calling or insert dominance to each other and fight. They go crazy when I feed normal doughnuts sometimes or sweet breads round ones. I love when I throw/drop the bread one of the seagull catches it and immediately other seagulls begin to chase. When they get the bread they begin to fly at high speed in such dive flight. They do zig-zag in flight which almost got one of the seagull hit the bridge. They have such reflexes when they fly. Also noticed they fly in high altitude to not let other seagulls catch them and sometimes they seem to descend fast and then flap the wings ascending up again. It is more like a chasing sport some sort of who is faster. And that got some others' attention to see the seagulls chasing other seagulls with breads.
I really enjoyed staying near the lake relaxing listening the music. When folks pass by they take pics and are very happy. It's a beautiful place. I give it 5 stars.

Nice park with places for children and for running
J. x.
This is a great place for a football game or if you've got children that love a playground. It's also a popular dog walking spot. It's very open and next to a busy road. It also overlooks the river.
A. M.
We went for the first time, we were meeting friends there, firstly the parking was a bit awkward because the park was very popular with the locals, especially as it has a decent splash park, play ground, sand pit, skateboard ramps, small tuck shop and room to kick a ball about... Also the weather was very hot... All in all we had a great time, and the kids did too, they didn't want to go home lol... Lovely little place, we will be definitely going again

Perfect place for all ages ❤️
River Festival was awesome 😍

Great outdoors - Beautiful, relaxing, refreshing, ....
V. H.
Beautiful sunny day which was perfect weather for taking a stroll along the riverbank. Thoroughly enjoyed my Sunday afternoon connecting with nature, relaxing ones mind and being at one with the outdoors.
C. W.
Fabulous find in the heart of Bedford. Stopped off for a quick bite to eat and made an evening out if it with a walk along the river. Very clean and well kept, lots of wildlife.
M. T.
Spent a lot of time recently here during lockdown. Lovely park to walk around and get a coffee. Sometimes it gets very busy and when it does we retreat to the church graveyard to get away from the crowds.
I. V.
What a great park. My kids loved it. Given the chance they would stay all day.
Will definitely be back.
G. W.
Lovely park some free roadside parking available with a few drink establishments across the road. This place has many areas to sit and enjoy the views I will definitely be back in the future soon! Highly recommended nice place to hangout with family and walk your dog 🐕 BTW I did notice a parking area but didn't realise there was one specifically for people visiting this place. Next I'm going to figure out how to access it!
A. B.
Great park with the new addition of wheelchair accessible equipment, really will go a long way towards making children who often have to miss out very happy .
M. S.
Been many times before but not so busy this particular visit, Granddaughter's had plenty of goes on swing's, slides and climbing frames without to much pushing and shoving or standing waiting for their turn on stuff 😁
M. W.
Visited on sunny morning, was beautiful, area very clean. Lots of people doing activities on the river plus plenty or runners, dog walkers etc. Spent 3 hours up & down not a problem
F. T. E.
Stunning park. My children are aged 2 to 10 and all had a ball after a lovely walk spotting lots of birds next to canal. There is a toilet next to the kiosk. My friend and I even enjoyed a ride and slide or two. Lots of fun.
P.
Brilliant little discovery as i was nearby out and about and came across Russell Park unknowingly there was a Bedford international kite festival. Love the space atmosphere and great car show. Fun day out.
C. n.

D. S.
Great park loads of space. 2 lovely coffee shops near the park.
D. V.

s. b.
Great play area! Lots of activities to enjoy. My girls love this!
T. M.
Russell Park and the embankment are a lovely place to go with the family. The park has a large play area for children. There are tennis courts and table tennis tables not to mention the football pitches. Also large wide open spaces to play with your dog.
There is even a cafe and toilets conveniently located near the children's play area.
If you cross over the road you reach the beautiful embankment which is the jewel of Bedford where you can stroll along the river Great Ouse and go boating if so inclined
T. A. W.
Nice day out with the kids. Lots of equipment for all ages, sand park cafe, pitch n' putt tennis courts and there's normally and ice cream van
Also you're right on the embankment, so you can feed the ducks if you like.
Short walk from a lovely Indian restaurant and McDonalds (if y'like).
A. V.
Excellent public park, plenty of available trees shade, great variety of quality play equipment, one part has sand on the ground for a beach feel, places to get coffee or ice cream, bins, tennis courts, can't go wrong
S. K.
I often visit Russell Park en-route to or from home. It is well maintained and comes with plenty of seats. The other locals, like myself, appear mostly very friendly.
K. W. (. /. K.
Excellent and clean. Plenty for all ages for nephew and nieces and teen son. They really enjoyed it and we are coming back again.
S. B.
Spacious area for the children. Looks the sand is clean. Should have a restriction for the adults and adult children to use the paly equipments dedicated to them.
J. F.
Nice family atmosphere great to visit on a lovely summers day, play park for the children and lots of open space, lovely location by Bedford's beautiful river.
L. P.
We visited this park when the River Festival was on. Great equipment to play on for all age groups. Lovely views of nature. Plenty of benches to sit & lots of area to run around and play.
K. C.

T. M.

I was here for River Festival this year. It's a lovely area which also has a play area for children.
D. P.
Very nice playground for kids. We loved it
N. B.
The park is always great to go to as there is loads to do for the little ones to run off some energy.
Plenty of seating in the park area and bins just outside.
If you can get a spot along the embankment at the end nearest McDonald's is even better as not far to walk 🙂
It is a lovely walk along the embankment and around the park as a whole on a nice day
D. L.
Fabulous time spent 2hours with grandsons. Tidy clean and good apparatus caters for most ages. Birds n squirrels. Seats for us golden oldies.this is 3rd visit. Worth the travel. Shops not far 👍👍💖💖
M. C. D.
Very nice indeed here, seen swans on Great river Ouse and had an ice cream, it was lovely.
B. S.
A beautiful park and a great play area for kids - littluns had a great time! Also I dropped my wallet and a kind soul handed it into the Kiosk, so naturally I think the people that use the park are the best community ;) Everyone was so helpful in locating it and for that i'm super grateful!
Z. K.
Beautiful park with lots of things to see. Swans, lots of them. Good walking trails.
V. L.
Lovely place to walk alongside Ouse. Quite peaceful.
D.
Bedford River Festival never fails to entertain, from music to arts and crafts, from WW2 encampments to a myriad of food stalls ... there was genuinely something for everyone.
We managed both days (Sat and Sunday) and had a great time, watching the boats display and the rafters compete so much fun.
R. B.
Brilliant park and greenspace in a lovely area of Bedford played pitch and putt 18 holes £8.50 for 2 adults 2 children.
They also have tennis courts for £4.50 and £2. So very reasonable
I. L.
Lovely gardens next to the river. Very relaxing place for a wander.
R. S. (.

Love this park. Always come here with our children. There are 2 areas for playing, for little ones and those afte 5 years. If the little one likes sand, there this is the place for playing.

Great place, my son absolutely loved it 💙
C. H.
Went there for the first time, had fun with grandson and family.

Beautiful place
T. D.
Amazing in the spring sunshine. My daughter loves the play parks which are large and full of things to do.
J. 2.
Really nice walk, great events take place here. Cars parked a little too close to the water for my liking...
A. R.
Had lovely day walking along the river
I. A. D.
I love walking around next to the river long mile. I used to feed the swans and ducks when I was a teenager and spend time for myself laying down on the grass, chilling, listening to the music, sometimes meditate about life, about my future, just releasing the stress, worries, troubles surrounding me. It is a good place to take time to reflect about yourself, just to get off my chest. I remember squirrel passing by next to me lol wanting some food, that was straight up boldness and fearless.
It is a good feeling to spend time alone without pals, or just a fewest ones whom you can confide or relate to. It just gives you a sense of peace within yourself. After this lockdown I really needed to go there with a friend of mine, chilling, just 5 minutes without talking hearing the breeze, folks chit-chat, birds singing. It was just like a true nature at display when you listen with your headphones at home.
I should have uploaded the swans when they took off the flight, it was so majestic and awesome to witness but my old phone broke. Too bad but it was a good moment when they were going towards my direction for the feeding time. Including seagulls, pigeons, ravens, ducks, I mean it was very fantastic to see.
People around me were very happy and smiling. It shows how these creatures are so innocent and friendly to humans. They don't know what we are capable of but also they are aware that we aren't to be trusted enough yet they come close to us. I was happy to touch some of them.
Really good place to spend your time.
C. P. M.
Nice park for a stroll or just to seat watching the swans and ducks in the river.
F. R.
Lovely little park. Perfect for kids, with a large playground. There's also tennis courts available, mini golf and ping pong. You hire your rackets, clubs, bats etc from The Kiosk. They also do a wide variety of yummy drinks, such as fresh fruit smoothies, ice coffees and milkshakes.
A. J.
Very nice and relaxing. Good for walk. Lots of fun and activities like rowing, running, walking etc. Nice plants specially tulips in the spring season.
D. S.
Nice clean park with huge playing fields behind. Loads of free parking with couple minutes of the park.
Nice little coffee shop too with free water fountain and toilets very close to the park..
Definitely recommend.
D. I.
Lovely International Children's Day event, free entertainment for children, great food and bar.
B. A.
Great place to relax walk your dog or exercise
n. w.
A favourite with the kids - Russell Park has a large playground at the Eastern end, big open spaces for playing, lovely floral planted areas and great shady trees. It also hosts the Kiosk for refreshments (and toilets) with the Longhome Cafe across the river.
Easy access to the Embankment for wanders in some of the prettier areas of Bedford (just watch that free parking by Russell Park is for 2 hours, paid parking closer to town) and to look at the local geese and swans.
D. F.
Excellent place to celebrate a football victory and very safe for families by day or night
M. M.
Great to see people outside and smiling 😀 and now everything is open so great facilities as well
R. N.
Great fishing on The Embankment, first day of this season!
M. O.
Amazing energy of water
Beautiful place for recreation and relax
Ideal for meditation
a. t.
Been going here since I was a kid & now take my children here. However it is now starting to smell like weed more often that it should which is very disappointing
j. s.
My kids loved here. Also a very happy environment
D. K.
Very nice place for kids ☺️
J. P.
Good enclosed playground area for children. Lots of open space to walk around. Plenty of activities such as tennis courts, football playing, cricket, rounders. Trees for kids that like to climb them. Nice place for a picnic in the park.
D. C.
Very good and peaceful park, actually.
U.
Had a Romantic picnic with my girlfriend 😍
R. C.
Great area for the whole family. Impressive play area. Great coffee shop on site.
N. L.
Decent play park for children of all ages and also has a nice grass area for pets and ball games, nice cafe with good prices only downside is they removed one play equipment from here a couple years back and have yet to replace it
P. D.
Good park, lots to see. River, canal, lock and bridges. Plenty of wildlife. Small play area and fields.
Will be wonderful for picnic in the summer, but on a wet autumn day the river was in flood and topping the bank.
J. R.
It's a nice open field which is dog friendly, there is a good group of dog owners who meet here frequently for a great dog play session. However, it is not large enough if walking a dog around alone, it can be quite boring without much to see, I fully recommend going across the road to the Riverside walk and going up to priory marina or going to Riverside park as they are a little further/blocked from the road and have a bit more interesting things for dogs and people alike.
J. K.
Great place to go for a run, or just relax and enjoy the day.
J. P.
Great play park for kids, although I would say it's really for kids from about 4/5 onwards, some of the equipment (in my opinion) not suitable for toddlers, really young children.
There is also mini golf, table tennis for a fee to borrow clubs & bats and balls.
There are tennis courts. And a lovely little kiosk that sells lovely coffees, hot drinks, homemade cakes etc.
R. 8.
Always a beautiful walk. Gorgeous river and trees. Go as far or as little as you like plenty bridges to cross if needed and lots of lovely dog walkers. Have a bandstand too I believe Sunday entertainment there free.
C. C.
Great park for the kids, ideal as near the river so can also go for a nice walk.
S. M.
I went there with my youngest sun for a walk by the river and then we went to the park for a little while. Weather was a bit rainy and the edges of the paths were a little bit icy still but all in all it was quite a good day.
Y. C.
The flowers they plant all the way along by the river are beautiful.
So calm to just stroll along the river buy an ice cream or a cup.of tea and cake. Sit on the bench and watch the world go by.
Brilliant.
G. T.
Had a lovely walk around river and over the lovely bridges here, have to say it was beautiful and loads of different birds too, great for the family plus you can go on the boats
T. M.
Run the half marathon started and finished at Russell Park fantastic senary loads of food stalls. A great warm up to the music stewards very helpful. Great day out
A. M.
Great place, grandson loved it.
R. M. D. K.
Very beautiful and peaceful too.
N. S.
Loved it!! Must say a good maintained park with river and a beautiful pedestrian bridges. Recommend park not just for kids but for anyone.
Very good views , very calm area with pubs on one side. Great place to have a day out.
M. N.
The cafe in Russell is my favourite hideaway - shhhhh you haven't seen me!
L. G.
Great kids park, caters for most ages. Nice big space close by with football pitches and goal posts. Had small kiosk for hit drinks, snacks and ice creams.
R.
Great fenced playground for younger children with a separate play area for older kids. Seating for adults. Ice cream and a refreshment kiosk. Nice walks near the river but not too far from town.
S. G.
Take your children there for a Picnic
P. R.
Nice park next to embankment parking quiete tricky tho so either go in the week or get there early at weekends :)
G. G.
Great park well located great parking all around the boundary. Been visiting this park 40 years plus. My grandparents took me now I'm taking my kids and like me they love it too. Hopefully when their old enough their be taking my grand kids too. We love having picnics, a kick about with the ball a good old play in the park on the various apperatace provided.
A. E.
This is a lovely park to spend an afternoon with my wife and her grandson. We sat on a bench with our backs to the old and grand houses of the embankment with the river and its bridges before us. It was a lovely day with the sun shining and people were playing football and cricket (yes in winter), walking their dogs or just enjoying the sunlight like we were.
S. J.
It is a very nice and tranquil place in the heart of Bedford. Enjoy walking by the river and watching beautiful swans. No toilet in the park! But you can use several coffee shops and restaurants in your way. Be careful about your children since there is no gaurdrail for the river. Perfect for photography and nice shots especially in the sunsets.
E. M.
Good outdoors for all the family
J. G.
Great place as there is a good mix of things for older and younger kids. It is well kept, secure and parking to access the this very nice park is great.
E. L.
Great open space in town. The river festival brims over into this area where the music and picnics are great. Over the year it's also host to events like the kite festival which will be next weekend. Well worth a visit without events too.
j. D.
I love the open spaces but the public toilet is disgraceful. Definitely not been cleaned in a long time, a dirty used potty on the floor, the floor not clean, the sick is so close to the toilet that the spread of germs is worrying
S. L.
Went for Sundown Cinema to see The Greatest Showman. Thoroughly enjoyed all the food and country market stalls too. Great afternoon.
T. J.
Love this park. Great location, so clean and close to town and the river. My young children love the play area.
N. G.
Gets a little too busy at times. Otherwise its great.
S. O.
Amazing place
D. L.
Great park! There is plenty of greenery and space for games such as football. Grass area kept in good and clean order. Park is well maintained nice and busy and a nice variety of play equipment. There is a small (semi expensive) cafe right next to the park area with toilets that I have to say are not kept in the best of order. But as a whole a great little place to visit as also has tennis courts and a table tennis table.
T. A. -. F. L.
A very well maintained park. One problem problem is, toilets. Non exist or can't be used?
M. C.
Russel Park is a great place to walk and take the kids for some time in the play area. If the local council had not removed half of the play equipment it would rate 5 stars. Close to the river and with a coffee shop nearby there is plenty to see. Recommended.
O. W.
Best Park in town for kids
I. W.
This is a fantastic park area in a great location in Bedford. It's situated between the embankment and castle road areas and provides a great space to walk your dog's. There is a cafe located at one end of the park along with a great children's play park and in the summer a putting green is available to hire. There are tennis courts that are free to use, I believe you need to reserve them though as they can book out in the busiest summer months. Plenty of other activities seem to be available here as well as there are marked football pitches that are used weekends. There's a bowls club located in the park and I regularly see CrossFit programs and joggers using the parks facilities.
Highly recommended outdoor space.
L. M.
The children had a great time, plenty to do!!!
R. V.
Good place for early snow drops!
C. T.
Great open space for walkers, joggers, dog walking and children. It's quite large so that you're not always bumping into people, except in the children's play areas.
There are events held in the park and on the river.
Nice space to unwind after a busy week.
D. S.
It's basically a big flat field you can walk or run around in. It has a good sized kids play area with some cool equipment and a putting green. While the Time Garden section is quite nice there's nothing particularly special about the park itself. It is helped by being near the river, which is not part of the park, the Embankment, which, again, is not part of the park, and Mill Meadows, which, yet again, are not part of the park. Otherwise it would barely merit two stars, never mind three.
R. O.
Nice spacious park
M. W.
This park is great fun for under 10s and offers great variety and challenge. Situated in a lovely, peaceful, safe and friendly park on Bedford with plenty of in street parking. Highly recommend it
S. S.
A great place for a lazy stroll with family and friends after dinner on a Sunday afternoon. The river Ouse seems to be well managed. I really liked the varied styles of bridges, the mini water features and watching people boating on the river.
A. G.
Wonderful place especially given a gorgeous weather
H. S.
Great play ground for a broad age range, then some lovely open space for picnics or free play. Lots of squirrels around and trees for hide and seek.or finding "treasures" There are a good selection of cafes and other activities near by too if you are looking to spend a few pennies
P. M.
Fantastic park with the best play area for children we've been to in a long time... they even have Crazy Golf!
I live about 30 mins drive away but would definitely visit again - right beside Embankment also so lots to see and do!
Highly recommend it - and if you don't remember to bring a picnic don't worry - there is a smashing little kiosk/cafe that serves coffee/tea etc and the yummiest snacks!
D. L.
I came here whilst visiting relatives. It's very nice and seems to have lots of things for the kids, which is always nice!
Did NOT see the signs that say not to feed the birds! Got a few strange looks. Oops.
Quite relaxing to go for a walk by the water, quite different from Bristol's waterfront.
R. K.
My kids love this park it has lots to do and you can even have a lovely stroll down by the river bank
T. K.
Very beautiful great for walks, right by the river too so you can visit the ducks! Children's play area too and tennis courts, there is also a little cafe selling drinks and snacks...lovely in the summer
K. B.
Great park for kids, good variety and it's lovely being near the river
L. S.
Really good children's play park, nice for a wall, picnic and stroll by the river. Cafe in the park too, I thought it was expensive for what it is though.
T. E.
Fabulous and so many swans, geese and ducks too 😊
P. C.
A Beautiful open park in Bedford. Much loved by Bedfordians. Magnificent trees and flowerbeds well maintained. There is a play area for children which has bark underfoot and caters for a wide age range.
H. M.
It's a favorite place of ours to spend all day. Even though it's next to the main road but it's not crowded and loud. It's quite and peaceful so much to search. Atmosphere is very relaxing.
D. L.
A really lovely place to, there is a lot of wildlife from fish in the river, ducks, geese and swans.
It can be a little dirty in places and we also found drug paraphernalia on the floor, it's a shame some can ruin it.
Otherwise lovely place to walk along the river.
C. M.
Lovely for leisure activities, great park for kids
A. M.
Lovely place to let the kids burn off some steam using the great outdoor play equipment (slides, swings, climbing forts & etc.). Could also see some lovely paths for strolling down and lots of open grass for games when it's a bit dryer.
J. F.
We come to this park regularly to walk our dog and play ball. Well kept open space with fooball pitches and a paved path around the perimeter. There is an excellent childrens playground with varied equipment suitable for children or different ages. Nice cafe near tennis courts, pingpong and pitch and putt.
O. J.
Very nice place
M. 1.
Well maintained, open and interesting with some great playspaces for all ages, pop along and enjoy a stroll or a picnic 🏃♀️🏃♂️😉
M. S.
Nice place
A.
Nice big park for the kids
S. S.
Beautiful park with lakes and nice bridge. Lakes have ducks and swans. Peaceful. Brilliant for a family picnic.

Nice place for walking!
m. b.
Always nice around here
C. J.
good park its a shame there are no fenced off areas to stop dogs and kids going in the road
H. W.
Clean relaxing excellent kids play areas. Free toilets available. Beside the river embankment with lovely walks. On street free parking around the park normally spaces available.
e. b.
The Park is amazing
n. T.
Great for a leisurely stroll by the river.
Look on local events pages as they have various festivals that happen by or on the river.
Area is normally well looked after and relatively clean and tidy.
C. M.
Nice park just over from the river in Bedford . It has football pitches marked out on it . Also the next road over has many sockets for electrical car charging .
K. A.
Great place for the children, space for them to run around and play and for adults to relax
S.
Kids loved the park, the toilets though made me gag they stink so badly. So unfortunately we had to leave the park to find a toilet clean enough to use. Not sure when they last saw a cleaner they were awful
I. C.
Their are a few high screws on the kiddies climbing frames.and knots that have developed points thru wear and tear. The toilets were disgraceful. But overall a good park.
P. G.
Lovely place to have an ice cream.
G. W.
Lovely local highlight. Play area could be better if it served older kids. Or part of the huge field did this job.
w. t.
Beautiful park with play area for kids, big space fir picnic or a dong walk. Really beautiful now a days because of its autumn views. Love autumn n its beautiful colours. Just before entering in park, don’t forget to enjoy the river side walk. Amazing place makes me feel soo good. Full of nature n I love nature
T. B.
Great spacious park for kids, families and pet owners. Parking is restricted and not a lot of space.
a. M.
Great park for the kids. Nice, big field next to it with the river opposite
C. R.
Picturesque location in the Heart of Bedford.
Great place to bring friends and family from outside Bedford, especially in the summer when the flower arrangements are at their height.
In the evening the embankment is lit up and it becomes a great location for proposals or just an enjoyable walk on the riverside. Russell Park is often the location of various fairs and events and even when it is quiet there is a kids play area to keep the little ones entertained.
p. w.
If you are in the area, give it a visit. Kids play area, public loos, decent paths and refreshments too. Also just over the road from the river walk.
P. G. [.
Need some more attractions for kids. May be few more different swings, slides etc...
P. W.
Somewhere you breath almost unpaluted fresh air thanks to the preponderance of trees all doing their duties, to hear the laughter and screams of children at play, Years I have spent here with my children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, kite flying golf tennis, and of course watching football, and teaching all the family to cycle. and all this without a charge, it's quite true THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE FREE, With deep respect...
S. B.
Nice open park with two very good playgrounds, mini golf and coffee shop
S. K.
Very clean, quite alot of different things for children to climb on etc...also able to grab a hot drink and snack...also toilets were not too bad either.
I. R.
Its a good family area with parks and to walk play i always go there in the summer time
A. A.
Is always peacfull despite being busy with people. Grate fun for kids with feeding swans, you can walk your dog or ride a bicke trough. Perfect place for a romantic date with a pick nick.
T. D.
We live nearby, we take the dog for a walk here. It's a beautiful park where you always feel safe, it also helps that the food stand sells frozen yogurt which is always nice in the summer!
T. C.
Large park in the centre of the town next to the river
F. N.
Good place to run, walk the dog, meet friends, entertain the children in the play area
K. M.
Lovely park for the family. Only when a event on are holders should not be able to charge £1.50 for a 500ml water in a very hot day. Or there should be water pump.
S. H. (.
Good choice of small local cafés. Boating lake (paid), putting green (paid), tennis courts and adventure playground. Situated beside the Great Ouse 1 mile from Bedford town centre, this is a pleasant, restful park to stroll around
P. K.
Been coming here since I was a child. Always nice to walk at the side of water.
D. J. (. M.
A lovely park with a kids play area tennis court, golf and football. Only a little cafe with toilets that one or two seem not to be working quite often other than that I would reccomend it.
S. S.
Lovely park loads of things to do there and close to the town
G. h.
A fantastic park. Easy to park near by. Great fun for both smaller and older children. The cafe looked lovely and a great place to play and picnic.
L. B.
Russell Park and the surrounding river is a picturesque part of Bedford, the walk along both sides of the river provides fantastic views from the bridges, then the kids can play in Russell Park which has a sand pit as well of lots of climbing frames and swings for the kids, golf course also open in summer months and tennis courts..
K. W.
Perfect park for running and dog walks, if you like to play tennis it also got court available.

B. D.
Nice place to go for walks and recreational activities. Nice play park for kids of all ages. Bring bread for the ducks and swans lol!
M. W. O.
A beautiful park by Bedford River, linking Aspecs leisure centre to Bedford Town centre. If you want to play sports on Russel Park there is much room, with goal posts set up for football. Am official match can be played here with the appropriate teams and when the river festival happens normally every other year the music festivities are located on Russel Park. With fair ground rides also alongside this. Radhuni Restaurant is adjacent to the park for fantastic Indian cuisine, with Longholme Cafe just by the side also.
R. H.
An area of grass as a playing field. Houses on two sides. Small cafe to one corner. Main road Crosse's over to Bedford river. Nice walk tree lined. Small cafe on other side of river. Mac's just around the corner. Museum. Hotels. And high street within short walking distance. Bedford itself is steeped in history. With john Bunyan and many others.
D. A.
A lovely park just close to the river too
s. r.
Attractive little park just off the Embankment, served by a little kiosk that looked busy when we came past.
We went for the international kite festival so there was lot's of things to do for all ages so well worth a visit. The wind was a little up and down so there were a few kites flying.
There are some tennis courts and a little pitch and putt and children's play area when there's no events on.
Russell Park is a 10-15 min stroll from the town centre along what is Bedfords crown jewel, the River Ouse.
h. p.
Great space for families inside the park and surrounding area plus the river across the road
t. w.

B. P.
Walked round here Sunday. Busy - looked like scouts activity on the go. Bouncy castles, parachute etc. Dont know if opened to public.
I was walking my dogs.
Unable to walk right round embankment lock footbridge was closed. Shame it wasn't signposted before you got right to it, so could have gone different way round. And I'm Bedfordian so know other ways.
R. W. (.

Really nice area of Bedford by the river.
Plenty of space to relax and picnic and sunbathe.
Nearby cafe.
Space to relax.
Shade from the sun if you need it.
A. W.
The play park is good but less so since they removed part of it and didn't replace it. There is a good place to get a drink nearby.
N. M.
Nice open spaces, well kept park. Excellent way to keep the children entertained and even better when events are on
P. C.
Nice park in a great location by the embankment. I love the Kiosk in the Park for coffee and cake. The play area now needs a replacement for the structure they took away.
M. J.
Nice play area, although it is beginning to look a little run-down these days. I noticed that the play castle will be taken away soon due to rot and will not be replaced, which is a shame.
F. S.

Bridge over the river wooden boards very slippery when its raining othetwise nice walk.
B. S.
On the border of Bedford - large open space with access to the picturesque Embankment (River Ouze), shame it is in the middle of congested spaces and not latge enough to fully justify. Any green space in a city is good, this is simply alright.
A. “. A. G.
It's a nice park great for kids would be a 5 star if there wasn't so many crack heads lingering ruining the space for everyone else.
