Reviews of Arcadian Car Park
A. M.
Good location, well lit, CCTV. Downside the spaces are quite tight.
ANPR monitor arrival then enter registration number prior to leaving. No need for ticket or to work out how long you are staying for.
Reasonable prices.
R. R.
We visit the Hippodrome every couple of months or so and always use this car park. Spaces large enough for an E class Merc, well lit and secure.
Ignore all the people moaning about queues at the pay machine, just download the Glide app and it will pick up when you drive in, drive out and charge you automatically.
Overall, an excellent car park. The only negative is that it's in Birmingham, but that's not the fault of the car park.
J. W.
Great carpark for Birmingham city center! Was visiting for the day and wanted a clean, secure and convenient car park. This ticked all the boxes for sure. You pay via car reg instead of ticket, which is fine for me but beware there may be a long queue at the pay station if other people don't know their car reg and waste time pondering!
M. M.
Clean, safe and well-lit but would be nice if they could have some signs to tell people it's within the Clean Air Zone and maybe a reminder that some people may need to pay. I know that's not their job but when local hotels are telling people to park there then it would have been nice to be warned before receiving a £60 fine.
A. C.
This is my go-to everytime I go into the city. They have a few charging spots for my car. The location is easy to get to the bullring and New Street shopping. Wide variety of restaurants right there in the building and I always visit the Asian grocery store on my way back to the car.
K. L.
Good sized parking spaces on level 2. Scans your license plate. Prices were a little high but compared to other city centre multistorey car parks it's not bad
T. S.
Convenient location and large amount of parking spaces. Ideal for visiting the Glee Club, Wetherspoons, or any other local venues, as you don't have to walk far afterwards.
Price might be considered expensive by many, but it's actually not that bad for a carpark right in the heart of Birmingham.
Payment machines are dead easy, just enter your car registration upon leaving as the system has cameras that automatically track when you arrive/leave.
General layout of the carpark is a bit confusing though, if you've never been before you'll be driving round a little lost at first trying to get your bearings.
D. H.
Great car park, right by China town, and The Birmingham Hippodrome. It is spacious, and well lit. Security cameras everywhere, so you feel safe. The parking spaces are really generous, so if you have a larger vehicle, like an MPV or 4x4, it's perfect. Not overly expensive for a city centre car park.
H. L.
Very good parking. Secure systems installed. Reasonable costs. Convenient for Cathedral Quarter of Derby which has a hood selection of independent shops. Near Derby museum.
P. H.
I arrived late to this carpark and even though it was full of night life that made it intimating, I felt safe enough. The spaces are on the small side and if your staying at the travelodge then remember you can give you licence number to them and you can get a discount! You don't need to take a parking ticket and you just enter your plate on exit to pay :D It has security and the prices are reasonable enough
C. H.
Excellent car park, but could really do with a few more payment machines or alternative methods.
D. M.
Easy to enter with plenty of spaces can be slow to leave as it's used slot by people visiting Arcadian venues like the glee club or the nearby hippodrome so the end of shows can be a bit busy.
S. G.
This car parks well lit, with large bays. You can pay for a theatre evening ticket for £7.50. This is the place I park when visiting the hippodrome.
E. C.
Well organised. There was someone on duty marshalling cars to find spaces. Then on leaving they helped maintain an even flow of traffic to help people leave.
j. c.
Great place to park before going to the theatre or go and have a meal in and around the area. There is plenty of things to do around
Y. V.
£7.50 for a few good hours. Not bad, as very local to Glee Club etc. Worth it.
m.
Good car park and only 20 mins walk to the Utilita Arena. If you arrive after 5pm you can use the 'theatre option' which is £7.50 until 2am the next day.
J. A.
It's handy for the theatre, found parking spaces down one level
B. M.
Used for 3 days and well lit parking areas. Very happy with stay
A. S.
It's a car park. Plenty of space it's a bit smelly if you park near the walls. The spaces are well spaced apart.
H. P.
Safe, convenient, pricier than it used to be before CAZ
A. J.
A Safe carpark plenty of cameras around always somewhere to park .
q.
Great location for Chinatown, hippodrome and south city centre, spaces quite tight, one coin machine out of order. Walk straight into Arcadian. Recognises car reg, pay after. When I put my money in the machine it seemed not to go other money was trapped there I forced it and several other peoples coins, pound coins dropped which I took and used. Then I thought is this some sort of scam where people deliberately set it some how like this to seem trapped, then take the money like I did without meaning to. I saw two shady characters, nearby, perhaps it was all related? Anyway, a good car park overall and will return.
P. M.
Never used the Car Park as I don't have a car. I used it as a cut through.
L. J.
Very easy to use and well placed for amenities in Birmingham but quite expensive
r. m.
Plenty of room to park. Safe, good lighting
C. F.
Great location and not too tight but a slightly confusing layout. The glide app for parking worked eventually but was very glitchy
C. C.
Brilliant place to park especially for theatre visits.
J. A. B.
Can be a long wait to get your car park ticket.
s. d.
If your ever going to the hippodrome this is the best car park and on the doorstep to the hippodrome
S. J.
Beautiful indoor carpark and nice place to skate in the underground parking lot
L. J.
Very handy for theatre and restaurants and China town
M. U.
Secure car park ..cameras ..tight spaces tho to park n fills up quick
M. B.
This car park has saved us so many times whilst visiting Birmingham for concerts. It's so easy to get to and find. Really good and safe areas to park your car. Camera operated and good value for parking. Open 24 hours too. We usually spend on average 4 to 6 hours when down for concerts and we pay £7.50 for the parking. Highly recommend.
D. S. F. (.
Large car park, good for The restaurants and Hippodrome. Fills quickly when a show on at the theatre so get there a little early. Poor access for disabled users. Helpful staff. Doesn't use tickets, cameras identify number plates which you type in the machine when leaving.
L. P.
Better than the other local car parks.
P. D.
Best car parking in Birmingham cheaper and easier than parking than in Shrewsbury
L. P.
Good location, reasonable pricing. Some signage could be better.
M. N.
Convenient parking especially for the Hippodrome. After 5pm there is a theatre rate... normally you would drive in, park and pay upon exiting. The theatre rate can be bought after parking as you go to the theatre, saving time by avoiding queues after your show! The car park lands you in the centre of China town with a range of amazing looking restaurants!
T. W.
Little expensive but usually guaranteed a parking spot. Not on-foot friendly so be careful when walking through car park. Busy location so I would expect car to be safe parked there. Close to a lot of shops & stores. Mostly clean and tidy.
S. G.
Convenient if you can get in as heading into Birmingham City centre is a nightmare
J. H.
The car park is very close to a clutch of restaurants (Indian, Japanese, Latin/American, etc), and is on 3 levels. I like parking here as it's close to town centre and it's quite a bit cheaper than the Blob. Still pricey though at £6 for nearly 2 hours. What is good is the ANPR camera system. Pay as you're walking to your car to leave - no barriers, just drive out Love it! Needs to be cheaper though.
Y. C.
I have a annual parking pass. Always spaces and decent size spaces. But security aint the best. Had a guy ask for change. I said no and moved my car. Came back and my mirror was snapped back
D. H.
Excellent car park, close to the shops but I think it needs a little paint now because it getting a bit dirty
P. C.
Ok but would be expensive had not got discount with hotel
Severe lack of accessible bays
T. S.
Super clean and well lit ( so bright it feels like daylight) so it makes you feel safe in the car park at night.
No ticket issued when you enter instead you input your reg.no. into the machine to pay.
Convient and easy parking with very reasonable prices.
A. M.
expensive but the best place to park in the city centre
J. C. (.
Couldn't find a lift for my son's pushchair so had to carry him in it up and down some stairs.
I'm either a bit blind or there isn't one.
Apart from that, was decent enough!
G. W.
Good covered, secure parking adjacent to markets, theatres and central Birmingham. It is camera operated, pay-when-you-leave. Rates are reasonable and the machines very efficient for quick in and out. I use it as convenient for shopping and using the Chinese markets.
L. A.
Well lit car park. There are usually staff PR security around, even late at night, so you feel secure heading to and from your car.
New payment system means you have to key in your vehicle registration rather than having a physical ticket which you could lose, so that's a bonus too.
Very well located for theatres, Chinatown and Bullring. You walk out into the Arcadian - just be aware that this can be very loud and busy at night.
It is more expensive than some of the other nearby carparks but that is reflected in the improved lighting and security.
V. L.
Good location usually not too busy.Easy access to China Town and Bullring. Pay before you leave. Enter your registration number. Pay using card/contactless.1st choice to park when come to town.
L. W.
Convenient parking for the Hippodrome and central Birmingham. Parking on the tight side. Important to pay at the END of your visit (once paid up, you have 15 mins to vacate the car park). Number plate recognition in place. Long queues at the pay stations after the theatre. Cash and cards accepted (but frequently break down and only take one payment type). Hand car wash service available.
S. E.
I had my doubts about parking in the Arcadian Car Park near Hippodrome Theatre Birmingham after being told dubious tales of lack of security etc. But so pleased we did. Attendants couldn't have been more helpful, distance is so close to Hippodrome, theatre rate ticket that can be bought before show so no queuing after at machines is magic and so well lit on return.
Q. S.
Well lighted and clean carpark.
T. T.
Short walk into the city and right in Chinatown at a good price. The automated license plate camera payment system is very convenient and efficient.
Lack of elevators is a pain if the ground floor is full, though.
S. M.
Nice clean car park. Staff member near the paying machines was very friendly and helpful. Easily found a place to park and the spaces are a generous size.
J. P.
Reasonable parking rates for the city centre. Not the best in terms of access and parking space but I guess the price makes it acceptable.
G. Y.
Good car park, quick access to nearby attractions like Chinatown and arcadian centre. Open 24hr so no need rush back in fear of being locked in.
J. W.
Not a huge amount of space and fills quickly but in a great place for access to arcadian and the city centre. Always clean and feel safe leaving my car there.
A. S.
Excellent, well lit, feel-safe car park
G. G.
Great location, plenty of room to manoeuvre around, and a very secure feeling upper level. Exits lead straight onto Hurst Street or The Arcadian. Always looks clean, and offers decent prices for parking.

Good for Chinatown/ Hurst St / gay village.
ANPR clocks you in and out. Pay in advance for evening parking allows 9 hours (1700 to 0200) at special rate.
Space availability is hard to predict but we've been lucky so far.
Some spaces are tighter than others, but unsuitable for three trucks parked side by side.
R. B.
Charged me £7.50 for 4 hours not sure if that's a lot but I weren't happy lol.
