Reviews of Cannon Hill Park
R. D.
My husband and I used to go to this park when we lived nearby. Now that we moved, we went back again to reminisce and to get some fresh air while we walk for 3-4 lapses.
The place is very beautiful. We saw last time swans. But when we came back, we didn't. Everything is incredible. There are courts for people who love to train tennis. There are fairs and mini golf as well. There is Mac if you want to stop by for a coffee and bread. If you are a nature lover, the place suits you very well.
Good to go out with your family, friends, dogs or just go with your bike. In summer, you'll see a lot of different variations of flowers. It's nice to go around, play or just have a picnic.

Had a great day for a lovely picnic with family. Place is ready to welcome the spring season with great sites of quaking ducks and singing swans. You can spend a whole day in this park to ride your cycles, walk around with your little ones and enjoy the sun.
H. S.
Nice Park with great scenery and facilities. Lots of wildlife and paths to walk on. The toilet facilties were of a very high standard. There was also the ability to participate in crazy golf, train ride and boating. We really enjoyed our time there. The place is family friendly also.
S. O.
My visit coincided with a very wet day in winter but the park is very pleasant, wide paths are well used by cyclists, runners and walkers alike. Facilities include cafes, toilets and several car parks. The park is beautifully planted out and boasts lakes full of wildlife.
H. S.
Went with my daughter and grandsons.
Feeding the geese, that are very friendly indeed. However, I would suggest to bring a bag of bird seeds, as bread is not very good for them.
Had a great time on the kids funfair. Liking the idea of a card to put money on instead of having to hand out cash.
The grounds are lush and gorgeous blooms.
A new waterfall area. Great playgrounds for the kids.
The boating area is now on the bigger lake, more to explore. And instead of boats, they are now Swan pedalos.
Wheelchair friendly areas, and accessible disabled toilets.
I was able to use my electric chair on the grass as well.
All round, a great day was had and we will definitely go again.
T. E.
Fantastic clean park, incredibly busy but plenty of room and things to do. Visited on a sunny Saturday.
Only down side was finding car had been vandalised on return.
A. G.
Lovely big park, waterlogged with all the rain but has a huge sandy pitch which we played on today. Swings, slides, paddle boats and the MAC Centre, crazy golf, fantastic family run ice vream vans for generations. Loads of time spent easily.
e. t. (.
Nice park with a couple of play parks, a little lake you could do boating. MAC is within the parks. Parking is £2.60 for 4 hours, paid by app is £3.21. Coffee is pretty nice within the MAC. Toilet is clean. There are also a couple of fun fair rides in the park.
A. A.
Great big park with lakes and ducks and great green space, fairy but a bit expensive this one though.
No free playground found there but the big green space with tea facility and footpath is just amazing.
I. E. O.
Absolutely it's a beautiful park 😍. It's a great place to have a fun with your families and friends. Easy access to public transport, parking and not far away from city centre.
F.
Lovey large well kept park. Home to multiple lakes with ducks, swans etc. Great facilities on site with a garden tea room, 2 playgrounds for the kids, mini golf, tennis courts etc.
A. B.
A massive park! Great for cycling around, long walks or little picnics. Can get very crowded at times, so have to be smart with the time you're visiting.
D. S.
The park is massive and clearly taken care of - all the plants are well groomed, the pavement and benches clean. There's a lot of fun things to do for kids, from a train ride to a cruise in a Swan boat. And they have great ice cream!
M. A.
Lovely park, big selection of flowers and different types of trees.
Nice place to come for exercise or have a picnic with your family.
I enjoy coming here in the evening during sunset, looks amazing during golden hour.
Go for a walk or bike ride and breath the fresh air, and enjoy the beautiful views.
The park has a mini golf place, tennis court, little rides for kids, boats and ice cream van.
Plenty of parking although you have to pay.
Also has a few big ponds with ducks, geese, pidgeons and other birds.
I love to go there to feed the birds and squirrels.
M. (. F. T.
Very big park, so many little areas to explore, I didn't come in 10 years, but I am glad I was there today. We ve done the Swan pedalo at £12/30min for up to 4 adults and 1 under 6. There is a fair but we didn't go, and a few playgrounds, lots of grass areas to play or just chill.
U can park in holders lane for free as main carpark is not.
T. f. s.
Excellent park. 200 acres of beautiful greenery with exotic trees and plants! Whether you want to walk, cycle jog or just laze about its ideal for everyone and family friendly. Kids play areas, a train ride around the whole park, tennis courts, bowling lawns, fabulous trees and plants from all over the world, large ponds with ducks and swans. Loads of things to do here!
K.
Absolutely beautiful park with lots going on! A few memorials / statues if you want a read and plenty of space it's absolutely massive! Great for picnics, game of rounders, bike rides etc. There's a fun fair for young children and it's also home to the music recording studios. There are some really talented roller skaters who will love to show you their moves and plenty of play equipment for the children. Lots of music playing of all different types , ice cream vans and they also put little boats out on the pond that you can hire. They are currently digging out some of the ponds but if you can look past that whilst they are working on it it's actually a nice place ! There's also a little wood that you can walk through and you can also gain access to the cricket fields ! I loved it!
L. L.
Lovely place to take the kids or just go for a walk everyone is always lovely a friendly 😊 there's a train that goes round the lake, and Swan paddle boats too.
S. T.
Had a take out from here today.
The deserts were nice...the chocolate brownie wasn't the best I have ever tasted but it was good.
The cookie dough....smaller portions compared to other places..I'm not complaining though as it was delicious and I think it's better to have a smaller size.
The milk shakes were also very nice.
The service was fast. Manager seems very professional.
I liked the lay out and decor. I have already recommended to my family.
People without blue badges had parked on disabled parking bays...but that is not the fault of the restaurant.
Will definitely come again and this time eat in. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
B.
The park has plenty activities like boats a mini train and a tennis court. But it also has huge fields which you can host your own activities like a game of football. I had a great time playing my own game of badminton there. It perfect for anyone.
D. F. A. H.
Cannon hill park is an amazing family park. Good paid parking. A small beautiful lake with lots of swans. A mini theme park with at least 10 different rides for children. An art gallery with coffee and other food inside.
Can easily spend 3 to 4 hours if you come with children.
J. J.
Beautiful place to visit, especially in summer time. Enjoyed a lot. Fun fair, trees, garden, ice cream, cafe, boat, train, tennis, golf etc etc...
V. K.
It is the most beautiful park in Birmingham. It is a great place for a walk, picnic, playing with kids or walking dogs. It takes about an hour to walk it all. When the weather is good it gets busy at almost all times...
D. J.
Visited the Elan Valley Model, could do with a tidy up. The park is otherwise kept very neat and tidy.
B. J.
We visited this park today for the first time. It was absolutely beautiful and we haven't even walked through all of it yet. There are a lot of green open spaces for dogs to run or to just sit and enjoy the natural surroundings. There are many nature paths among the large tall trees and some spots look like they came out of a fairytale. There's also a very large area full of Greenhouses filled with different kinds of vegetables and flowers. We didn't get to see all the greenhouses because the area was very large and we didn't have time. But if you like taking photos of flowers and/or plants, that's a great place to go! We will definitely revisit and i definitely recommend it to anyone that seeks an escape from the city vibe.
R.

d. m. r.
Nice family day out and picnic. Car park is busy on holidays… fun fair… good food at Mac cafe…
H. “. C.
Really nice park. Stumbled across it looking for somewhere new and I really like it. Lots to do with fair ground rides but they are all for younger children. The ponds are lovely and there's lots of paved paths and benches so it would be easy for pushchair or wheelchairs. Looks like they do boat hire in the warmer months too. Great for dog walks also. I particularly liked the monument in the park. Stunning.
S. H. (.
Nice park, few days. MAC is good. Loads of dogs. Tennis courts. Worth a visit.
S. D.
Revisiting this great park after many years and it's just as wonderful as I remember from childhood...bonus being the fabulous tea room with homemade cakes with a great view
L. B.
What a beaut!
Perfect spot for when the suns out!
Family fun, Midlands Arts Centre, Cafe, Tennis Courts, Golf, Boats, Mini Children's fair, Play areas & scenes 🙌🙌🙌
M.
Went on 2nd June 21. Full of people and kids playing. The land train is back (see picture) Theres an ice cream seller at the entrance of the park. Beautiful park and clean ! Also, good place for running or just walking in the morning.
Y. P.
Beautiful park! The best of Birmingham, you can pass a well moment with your family. There is activities for your children, boat, attractions! You have lot of space for everything 😀
There is a mini golf and court of tennis as well it is very nice , i definitely come back every time 💪🏽
f. r.
Great Park for the family or if you just fancy going for a walk.
J. F.
Visited quite a few times now, parkings always a problem at weekends due to being next to the Cricket Ground, this visit the parking meter was out of order so used the app instead - but once you're in the park there is so much to do. The park itself does get busy but its that large you're never near to anyone really. Managed to go on the Swan pedalo which was nice.
N. R.
Absolutely stunning park.
It's a shame the ice cream van left earlier than expected.
F. L.
Lovely park, wide greenery and long walking path. Two duck ponds, land train, Swan boat and carnival rides for children available during the weekend. We enjoyed it!
K. P.
Mini golf course in good condition. Fun course.
Enjoyed it
Would go back
It is in the middle of Cannon Hill Park
Paid parking lot.
S. A.
A beautiful spot in the West Midlands, and a place I've spent a lot of my childhood.
Perfect for picnics, and plenty of fun stuff to do for adults and children alike
N. S.
Lovely pleasant visit through Cannon Hill Park earlier today, despite the Tier 3 COVID restrictions. Mild weather the week before Xmas brought out a lot of people who all remained socially distant.
The fun fair, tennis and golf remain open and people still enjoying that.
Recent rainy weather has led to quite waterlogged grass so limiting the enjoyment of walking there.
Overall, pleased to be out and see other people
E. M.
Lovely green space in Birmingham, the park is one of the lungs of the city, giving fresh air and relaxation to so many people. The Midlands Art Centre is great local support for the arts.
S. P.
Lovely park, has plenty if things to do with kids, great for walking the dog, train ride goes round the park, Mac centre to grab a drink and food, lovely and clean, great day out
R. K.
Lots of options of variety of activities to do here. You have the MAC theatre which includes art exhibitions etc, the wildlife centre to experience a wide range of animals, the small rides area, the swan rides on the water, lots of paths to walk, cycle, run or jog along while enjoying the beautiful scenes with ducks, swans and squirrels all around. Theres also a food place with treats like ice creams and other snacks and drinks which is probably open seasonally.
w. a.
Fairly big park with a few activities to entertain like tennis courts and boat rides, they also have rides at certain times of the year too. Ideal for family day outings as you will see many families out and about in this park. You have to pay for parking which is a disappointment as a public park should be given free parking.
G. B.
Excellent park would highly recommend great facilities for all ages ,fun fair for children only .place is imaculate and always feel welcome great day out .the nature reserve is well worth a visit .
S. R.
Cannon hill park within walking distance from my residence . This place is such a beautiful landmark of Birmingham . It has flowers that are of all colours and have blossomed this time of the year. The grass is finely cut and the grounds are looked after . It has a mini golf site , tennis court , rides and a fountain .
a. k.
Had a good weekend visit here. There are some small rides for kids, water boat and other stuffs. Park us beautiful. Greenery all around so good for a normal walk and run as well There is also a tea room if you want to have little snack. It's very close to edgbaston cricket ground.
G. L.
The most beautiful park is the best view and the most beautiful place to take wonderful pictures very quiet and suitable for gatherings, walking and sitting with friends I loved it very much
d. h.
The most beautiful park in Birmingham. So far…
A. Q.
Love this place! Sitting eating ice cream in the sun watching a duck, magpie, squirrel and pigeon all munch on an apple. Super rides at the fairground and had a float on the swans.. great day out!
M. R.
Spent hours here as achild, lots of fond memories. I take my grandchildren now, love this park , boats, a little fair ground & two play areas and the MAC which is also brilliant. There is also a small train that you can ride around the park.
A.
Definitely worth visiting.. flowers and plants blooming... the beautifactin of the park is almost complete and it sure does look stunning ... the water features are do picturesque. It is a privilege to have this park in our city
s. a.
Perfect for taking kids out for a gun day. Many kids attractions are available. Mini golf, tennis court and other attractions are available for adults. Fun for the whole family. Ice cream truck is always available inside the park with reasonable prices.
Overall I highly suggest you to visit the park.
Ps. Parking available as well. ( pay and display)
I. Z.
I visited this place with my friend. We played the black course of mini golf which had its difficult levels, price is reasonable I would say. There is a nice lake with a lot of Canada Geese, but one of the lakes is going through refurbishment, which is a shame as I would have liked to see it.
p. y.
I came here with my kids and two other parents and their kids.
It is a big park with lots to do. They had a Fair going on as well. We didn't make it out there as when we went into the park we were by the Swan Boats and there was a field and climbing area.
The climbing bit was more of a metal frame about 50 feet long with slides, ramps and bridges on it.
The MAC was nice to go in as well. It was clean and very lively. There was a cafe that was packed.
There was so much to do, and even though we were there for four hours, we hardly explored the park. This definitely requires another visit. There are parking charges, but if you do not have coins or a card (if I'm correct) you can ring them up.
The reason I give it 5 stars:
The pros: it is a big clean park with swans and a lot of activities.
The cons: it is a big park? There is a lot to do and some attractions cost money, but if you have enough resources (i.e. balls, Frisbee, stomp rocket, games, bats or like to play with your children) it won't be an issue.
I would definitely recommend this park and it is not to far from Birmingham City Center. About a 10 minute drive if traffic is light
s. s.
Lovely park with lots to do with kids. We really enjoyed the swan boats, fun fair rides and the train ride. The Kiln restaurant was quite nice with plenty of seating and good service.
F. d.
Lovely park... we went for a picnic.
parking is a problem.. not enough of it!
The park has a lovely lake with swan boats which you can hire and ride on.
Also there is a small rides area for small children which is very popular but in my opinion is a little over priced
Overall a great park for a family outing.
J. R. D. S.
Beautiful park with wide open spaces and lots of things to do inclyding a fun park, boating, and mini golf. Perfect place for parents to take babies and older children. Nice green areas and a large lake with geese. Wooded areas as well so can have a nice picnic
A. E.
We had a fantastic family time in the park. We popped in to MAC to pick up programs so we can plan some family art time or book tickets for children play. We passed the fun fair and mini golf place to venture to mini zoo.
A. K.
I'm happy to see they are clearing the pound. I hope they put fish back in as well. It would be nice to see people fishing there again.
F.
Kids love the fair and the mini golf. Parking can be a bit hit and miss and if you don't have cash the Ringo App costs more to pay.
N. O.
Nice park with cafes and restaurant and bar in the Mac centre, lots of activities and sport facilities and a parkrun on Saturday morning with more than 500 people taking part
W. H.
It's a nice clean park I've only recent visited a few times but enjoyed the walk i will be definitely be making more trips to the park
h. p.
Nice city park- paved areas with local skaters, grassws areas, some lakes with ducks, metal sculptures, benches, statues. Some parts closed off for renovation. Next to MAC. Parking £2.40 minimum.
p. p. (. p.
It was a beautiful day which certainly had an influence in my final rating (i completed 4 drafts).
There was, in my opinion a distinct lack of TWO FOLD things
One being cannons
The second being hills.
The ground was VOID of hills or indeed cannons.
ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
It was (to the casual visitor) indeed a park.
The local patrons were friendly IF NOT unusual in the presentation of their WALKS. However this aside the addition of giant floating white duck boats (possibly donated by blackpool alton towers or a local fibreglass imporium) added a "quirky" feel to an otherwise pseudo middle class piece of land.
My friend was lovely comoany.
V. S.
Great open space to walk round. Lots of activities to keep every one entertained.
Cafe for food, snacks or a bar for a pint.
After several years of budget cuts park looking a little tired.
R. L.
Beautiful park with lots to do for all age ranges and plenty of facilities to for a day out. One disappointment was no toilet facilities were open as there were available in the park
L. V.
Amazing park full of green, attractions for all the ages and nice playgrounds.
K. M.
Lovely park with lots of activities and things going on. Perfect for running or walking or for bringing the children. You do have to pay to park at this park which I don’t think is right but other than that it’s a lovely place to visit.
M. K. f. L. s.
Apart from Sutton park, this is probably the finest piece of parklands in the city. With the capacity and facilities to carter to massive national events, we can be truly proud of this bit of peace amidst the city's hustle and bustle.
J. S.
A large, generally clean park close to the centre of Birmingham. There are plenty of activities to keep children occupied but I'd rather give most of them a miss and just enjoy the space.
Parking isn't free anymore but given the location that is understandable. At £2.20 for four hours the pricing is reasonable.
The MAC is currently closed, which is a shame as it is a nice space and often has interesting exhibitions and shows. The cafe was also quite nice, and I assume it will remain so when it reopens. I quite liked the bar too.
The lakes (large ponds to be fair) have pedalos, there is a small fairground, two playgrounds, tennis courts and a mini-golf centre. The parkrun held here (when it returns) is large, well organised and a nice course.
All in all it's a pretty good urban park. Not quite as nice as Arrow Valley Park in Redditch, nowhere near as large as Sutton Park, but overall pleasant enough.
T. N.
Lovely family friendly park. Variety of flowers, entertainment and things to do. Outdoor live music, MAC theatre, bar, and has different things rotating throughout the year from travelling fairs to autumn crafts.
C. W.
A great place for the whole family. I particularly like the mini golf and fun fair. There are lots of other facilities on offer, and it is really close to the Birmingham Nature Centre. For those worried about Covid, the park is exceptionally quiet at the moment and there is lots of parking.
M. S.
geese are friendly when i feed them seeds and bread but not the people here. I try give jogger my granary loaf and he was extremely rude 10/10 would visit again i'll give him brioche next time.
M. K.
Beautiful park! Best in the area. Perfect for a day out with or without kids.
There are two playgrounds, a tea room, beautiful flowers, a large lawn for sports and lounging, little rides for kids, tennis courts, and all the amenities in the MAC. We love it here!
T. C.
Great place walk the dog.
Lots wildlife to see.
Advise you keep dog on leads. At all times.
Plenty places to park car.
Q. P.
Nice ducks and plant life. Enjoyed thinking about how the birds fly. So many signs for those who listen and ponder. Alhamdulilah. Allah is perfect. He is free from any defects. None is worthy of worship except Allah. Praise and thanks be to Allah for creating so diverse trees and animals.
D. P.
Went for a morning run to see the sunrise and thoroughly loved it
h. L.
Lovely, well kept park. Food is good at Kiln inside the Mac too. Also always worth checking out the free exhibitions too.
J. v.
Love it I come here once per month with my two dogs from Bristol because it’s worth the drive, plenty to do and see. Wildlife is amazing and always friendly people to talk too. Dogs love the open space.
G. M.
Great tidy park great little funfair. Ashame there are no toilets or disabled facilities
C. K.
Cannon Hill is one of my favourite 'go to ' spaces. Always great parking facilities... Although it used to be free parking! Something new to see no matter how often you visit. The grounds are impeccably kept and have wonderful flowers and majestic trees. There are several paths to vary any walking experience and it always feels safe. Another useful feature is the availability of well spaced and well maintained seating across the grounds.
T. Z.
One of the most beautiful park in the West Midlands. Lovely walk, sitting areas, Midlands Art Center for refreshments and food. Beautiful in all seasons.
S. W.
Very good park, plenty of space and childrens play areas also small funfair rides. Wide path around the perimeter ideal for running and bikes. Large lake that sometimes had boats for hire. MAC is also onsite that has events and serves snacks\drinks\licensed bar
p. l.
Clean and quiet park. Nice for a walk. Can play tennis. Can feed the geese , or you just can drink your coffee on a bench in a nice atmosphere. A lot of squirrels and I even saw a fox in the car park
a. q.
Best park for Riding bikes 🏍, walking 🚶♀️ , running 🏃♂️. relaxing , take your kids with you.
f. m.
Beautiful well presented park, can get very busy on hot days. Mini golf, tennis courts as well as kids play area. Great place for a family day out
F. A.
I liked it very much. It's a nice place to go to, weather permitting! There are plenty of activities for children and green space! Pic-nic are quite popular over there (I've seen many groups). Also there's the MAC right in the park, so you may buy something to eat or drink over there. I'm not sure about its opening times and dates, but it was open on Easter.
S. D. X.
Pretty nice park, lots of attractions for kids like a small fun fair and land train.
M. H.
Great place for kids of all ages crazy golf and fair rides
M. H.
Beautiful gardens and park. Tennis and boating lake. Cafe and toilets.
J. C.
Lovely park for a wander & many things to entertain small people. Also there is a tiny zoo almost next door...
M. K.
This place is the best place to go on a sunny day. There are 2 play grounds in the park where is also ponds and water at the entrance there's so much to do. During periods of time there will be a funfair. And tgeres also a fair that it always there. You can ride swans over the lake. And there's many more! perfect place for a walk run or biking.
R. d.
Well what to say, what a place to visit and have a decent day out. Second time I've been and thoroughly enjoyed it again. It beautiful very well kept. The flower beds are stunning to the point I almost thought I was in the gardens of Hampton court palace. It's got more than enough to keep you occupied , swan lake , a little fair ground area, and just lovely scenery. Parking is plenty and not very dear. Well worth a day here
M. P.
Amazing park, loads to do for all the family. 2 big lakes. They have the boating swans, fun fair, mini golf, wildlife centre. Paid £2.20 parking for 2 hours. Loads of grassy areas to sit and have a picnic or bbq.
S.
Lovely park for a day out with the family. Great fun rides and playground areas for children to explore.
R. G.
Normally a beautiful place, some work has been done to remove silt from the duck pond and there is some fencing around the removed silt to allow it to settle. Someone already had to be rescued by firefighters after jumping the fence and sinking.
It's a large park linking through to Holder's wood and Pebble mill playing fields. Good for a long walk, good for cyclist commute into town. Nice place for a picnic in the summer but gets a bit crowded.
MAC is apparently now open, but I haven't been in yet. Usually has a good cafe and toilets, wheelchair accessible.
Updated 12/10/21

Great park to take little ones! Bids can be a bit vicious. But they are just excited about being fed!
S. M.
Very good park for families, clean, tidy and always being taken care of by the council gardeners. the park huge, a lot's of space for picnics.
The park's main gate is near Edgbaston Cricket Ground.
the park is surrounded by Selly Park, Edgbaston and Kings Heath.
B. “. H. H.
Lovely big park to walk round. Tea room and the Mac for refreshments.

J. J.

Very nice. It is a very large area, suitable for all ages. There are different activities there as well such as mini golf, tennis and rides.
M. K. S.
Very good park, especially for spending quality time with children in the evening for a short period of time. Recommended.
S. H.
Great place to take your children for the day as there's lots to do there. Swan boats for the lake, a small fair ground with a few rides for the children, mini golf and a nice park to take a stroll around. Also the wildlife park is right next door, reasonably priced admission to the wildlife park as well.
k. w.
A mile or so from city centre and so peaceful. Mini golf tennis boating lake fishing. Have a cuppa and sandwich at the tea rooms or the MAC CENTRE marvel at the flowers. Feed the ducks (NOT BREAD )seeds ect. Walk or bike around
E. N.
Love this park. I came here very often. It is big public park surrounded by forest, little park with various flowers and cafe where you can enjoy
A. C.
Brilliant park with everything you could want from water features, crazy golf, fun fair and fields
A. P.
Nice park during the summer time, can get busy so go nice & early for a good spot in the sun
k. h.
A lovely park with plenty to do.. boating, mini golf, tennis courts, kids funfair rides, loads of beautiful trees and flower beds, 2 different kids play areas which could do with updating. The mac is situated in the park which has a cinema, theatre, many events and classes running throughout the year, plus cafes.
A. A.
Very beautiful place for a good walk and a playground for kids.
Love it.
N. A.
I visited this park on a nice Saturday morning to pray, and it was incredibly beautiful. Watching the wildlife was also exciting for me too and the park was very peaceful!
S. P.
Took the grand kids out for the afternoon first visit to this park. They had a lovely time I bought the fun pass for the rides which they enjoyed very much. I decided to keep the pass and register it online as you can top it up again and get bonus credits for next time. We didn't have time to explore all of the park but we we're impressed with yhe bits that we saw. I paid for parking £2.60 up to 4 hours as I was new to the area and didn't know where I could park for free so next visit I will be looking to park in the side streets. Definitely recommend this place for a family day out!
A. A.
It is a fantastic place to start a new adventure, there's so much to do, from outdoor sports, games and rides, to shows and exhibitions, and crafts
T. N.
Gorgeous park for a nice afternoon walk! The mini golf was and extra fun activity which I would definitely repeat!
t. l.
Lovely big park beautiful flowers, Tennis Courts, there's Mini Golf, Boats, Land Train and Fair rides for children plus two play areas, the Nature Centre and the Mac, so something for everyone
C. F. n.
Despite the fact that the weather was terrible the park was not. It was a great experience visiting which is why I am giving it 5 stars. There were lots of ducks and all of them were friendly, however when we went close to them they backed away. The scenery was lovely, there were plants and flowers everywhere making it the perfect place for photo taking. Although a lot of the facilities were currently not in use anymore it was still an amazing experience. Located around the pond were benches, even though it was raining it was still a beautiful view to see. In the park there was a 'mac' building which had indoor and outdoor seating. The park is very large ad the pond is not too deep making it perfect for a day out with the family or a walk alone. Because of the rain it wasn't too packed but usually on sunny days it it very crowded.
O. J.
Nice park. Needs cleaning up a bit. Some parts of the park smelt really bad. Car park is quite big. (Pay and display).
V. W.
Was empty!! Unlike a warm Sunday pm. MAC open: toilets! Phew! 😉
D. C.
Beautiful park really loved it. Plenty of things to see and try out. Well recommended place for everyone.
B. S.
Lovely park fun packed for families so much to do very clean. Love the new mac area for breakfast and coffees.
B. c. h. h. B.
Will definitely go again good duck Park but boat rides are closed due to covid dog freindly with a beautiful tudor building on site
S. M.
This is a great place to meet with friends, or simply spend time with yourself. Great walking spot. Beautiful lake to walk around and river running alongside the park. Even play areas for the kids and large fields for ball games.
There is a Coffee Shop, as well as the Midlands Art Centre (a.k.a the MAC) which runs fabulous and affordable courses for kids and adults.
On top of all of that, they also have a cinema! Check out the MAC's website for more information on that. :)
M. N. S.
It's always a treat to visit here. So much fun , so much activities. Parking charges are very reasonable.
Attractions include kidz train , paddle boats and mini golf course.
Location is fantastic and layout is very comfortable.
Overall experience was nice.
T. H.
Fantastic spot in Birmingham to walk around. We had an enjoyable day there today feeding the ducks.
P.
Love it here. The park and lake are gorgeous and you can also wonder out to the wood. The nature reserve is also good especially the red panda! There are pedlow boats, crazy golf and kids play areas available. The mac has food and drink and various shows and entertainment, sometimes even hosting a market. There's also food and drink available in the victorian tea room further in the park. Lovely atmosphere here very popular with families. The Selly Park Tavern is a short walk away to retreat to when it gets cold!
c. f.
Decent park with some nice flowers to look at. Grass maintained well. Spacious for walking cycling and jogging. Also has a water area with ducks. Great place to take the family. Can get very busy and packed at times. Could do with more benches around the park. The kids play area is pretty run down could do with an improvement.
I. C.
A lovely park to walk around along with great things to do, like a crazy golf and boating lake.
h. s.
Cannon hill park is a lovely park, particularly for families as it's filled with activities for children, there's also a train that rides through the park, boat rides etc. It makes a lovely family day out. It's a huge park, where there is plenty of places to sit down, alot to explore and kept relatively clean. Its perfect for a lovely walk due to the beauty Greenery, well kept gardens and flowers. On site car park also available, which does get full. However there is street parking available which isn't too far. Would recommend as it's definitely better then your average park.
B. I.
SubhanAllah very beautiful, We enjoyed beautiful flowers created and blessed by Allah almighty. Alhamdulillah (all praise and thanks to Allah) who blessed us with eyes to saw His created blessings
N. W.
Great Park and it has everything from a lake, tennis courts, cafe and beautifully kept garden's. A fab day out 😍😊🙏
B. Q.
Great size park offering a pleasant walk with pedal boats as well as a homely cafe
A. T. A.
It’s beautiful, can’t wait to visit during Summer!
S.
The park was really beautiful well flowered and clean 🌼🌷 it's a great place for take a walk and enjoy the fresh air 👍🏻
R. b.
Great for all ages joint and old small fun fair all year round huge Swan pedalo summer cafes feed the swans crazy golf . Nice walk around the park only down side you have to pay to park but like they say nothings for free lol
t.
My nieces absolutely loved it. The fun rides was great and the play area was fun 😀 definitely go again.
M. M.
Fantastic few hours having a stroll around the beautiful gardens and woodland. The whole place is well kept and clean, even the portable loos! Lakes are pretty with geese and wild life everywhere, happy to share your lunch. The childrens rides are great and the large mini golf is a great laugh for all the family.
We Really enjoyed our day here.
A. C.
We booked tickets here for a show (In the Night Garden, hugely recommended btw) for our two young ones.
Arrived in Birmingham early, followed signs for mac and nature park and it was as easy to get to as our last visit. The centre has excellent wheelchair access, is well signposted and free to enter. The outside has a lake with numerous swan boats to hire, inflatable slides, rides, a playground etc. Ice cream van too. Lots of seating and shade.
Parking, however, used to be free but is now chargeable. The parking available is not adequate and we ended up getting a ticket for £25 for not parking within a marked area. This was not clear hence the four star outcome instead of five.
M. D.
It’s a beautiful place, the nature there is just phenomenal
n. m.
Nice park really people enjoy it there good tennis court and few things to see and enjoy
A. P.
A great place to visit with children or without! Lovely greenery, a lake, a minimum fair and much more. I haven't been here since my aunt took me with her when I was a child, it was great to be back. Will definitely be coming back in the future, we didn't see half the items mentioned on the guide board! 😉
S. L. -. B.
Beautiful park with nice scenery. Lovely pool of water with ducks and geese etc. In the summer time there is a fair for the children too and I can't wait for the Mac to open with their new cafe in May.
The only problem was that when I went there recently April 2021 there were no toilets available to use as they were all locked up. Bit disappointing really.
Overall I love this park and my children do too 😀
M. S.
Fantastic park and lots of attractions for kids
S.
Beautiful park... Real treat any time of year...
J. M.
Great place to spend with the family, loads to do:
* Tennis Courts
* Pedal Boats
*Funfair for kids.
* Mini golf
*Or a good old picnic.
There's also a little cafe area, where toilets are situated. Kept clean.
M. G.
Such a nice experience, loved the flower waterfall.
L. L.
Lovely park with lots of family activities. Had a ride on the land train which took us around the park at a nice leisurely pace. We were able to take in the scenery and get some lovely photos and videos on the way around. There is a small amusement park/fairground on site that it's cheap and cheerful for family entertainment. There is also swans that you are able to rent to ride around the small lake. Would recommend for a family day out.
r. x.
Lovely place to walk surrounded by nature, park is well maintained and family friendly. Facilities at the mac are immaculate and staff very friendly to direct and guide you.
A. B.
Lovely outdoor space, I visit once per week for work and its always a pleasure to walk around for a while especially when there are less people around during the week.
Parking is cheap, £2.20 for 4 hours, and there is a cafe which serves hot and cold lunches at fairly reasonable prices. The MAC is also on site and is a great place for creatives as well as families, there are always activities going on and classes you can take.
h. h.
Great day out with our grand daughter. Plenty of picnic benches on the grass verge for that relaxing afternoon.
R.
Beautiful place to spend some quality time with loads of things to do for all ages! My favourite place for a quick getaway
H. W.
It's a shame that you now have to pay for parking, but it's a great place to chill out and feed the ducks.
P. B.
A lovely tranquil place at any time of the year. The flower beds are well tended and look fabulous when all planted up!
M. D.
Lovely park with a great parkrun but has a great cafe and makes for an excellent afternoons entertainment
G. A.
Cannon Hill Park is a lovely and fun field park. The scenery is therapeutic. There are so many fun activities for children, teenagers and adults. My 3 year old had so much fun here, will visit again.
A.
Beautifull large park with forest, great for running, walking the dog, walk with children, playing football or just enjoying nature.
C.
We met our daughter here for a picnic. It's an absolutely fantastic place to visit. We parked at the Russell Road side and paid £2.60 for 4 hours. Dogs are permitted off lead, except for a couple of areas. There's a grade 2 listed band stand together with a contemporary sculpture, to commemorate those who lost their lives in 2015. The space is huge, attractive and well laid out. It has a lake, tennis courts, crazy golf and Swan pedalos for hire. The cafe and toilets were closed, but we walked across to the other side and visited Costa. At various places, large boards depict the layout of the park. If you are visiting the area this is a peaceful, clean, semi-rural stop off.
T. M.
Good day out only downside is paying for parking. If the sun shining and u take a picnic cheap day out for family'. The flowers were in full bloom so looked beautiful.
S. P.
Lovely big park with fairground rides, pedalos, play area. The Birmingham conservation centre next to it is fabulous
A. L.
A beautiful place for a walk.
I. M.
I loved this place so much when I visited!!
There are also some rides at the park as well, especially the rollercoaster-type one
F. M.
I love this park, I think Cannon Hill Park is one of the best in UK.
F. F.
Honestly the best place to unwind and relax. Come here with the family all the time.Everything is so clean and beautifully maintained.Tennis courts are also available. In long and short best park of the towne park extends into the Chad river valley which is great for longer walks.. Amazing !!
T. 8.
Beautiful scenery. Well kept. Great for kids to play and for adults that just want a lovely walk.
P.s very friendly squirrels and wild birds (who love a few appropriate wild bird snacks😉)
C.
Nice place for a walk and has a small fair ground there for kids and you can also play Tennis there, which you have to book online for free. The park (playground) for kids is small and their is not alot in there. So I wouldn't recommend going to take your kids to the park (playground) other than that. It's pretty good though
A. A.
A beautiful massive park . However on the summer days the ponds really smell .
K. T.
Loads to do and not expensive. Beautifully kept grounds, perfect for a picnic but also sells food at the Café or MAC if you prefer
N. R. O. S.
Lovely place. Had a great time there, you can have a great day here without spending alot of money
f. s.
Kids play area, crazy golf, Swan boating. Very spacious lovely park. Also parking 2.20 for 4 hrs. Can be busy during the school holidays.
S. B. P.
Absolutely gorgeous and kids had soo many hours of fun! Lots of activities to do and the park is lovely and safe too,
Of anyone wishes to go for a walk, its super beautiful too.
G. K.
Lovely place to take little ones, nice and big and a number of playgrounds to choose from, would have stayed longer and given it 5 stars but zero toilet facilities despite signs for toilets! (something we looked into before leaving the house) Mac will not allow access to their toilets, I'm sure it's covid related but still, somewhere offering a whole day's worth of activities should be able to provide a toilet. The bloke manning the mini golf suggested I use a bush 🤔
T. A.
Great place to visit with children, the mini fun fair is great with a rollercoaster, bumper cars to name a few of the rides. It would be good if they could expand the number of rides. I think it is better than visiting a theme park where you have hours of queuing, it's better just to pay at least the kids can go on the rides that they want. Car parking at the park is a problem you just need to be patient, and it can be bad on days where there is a cricket match on.
A. B.
Beautiful expanse Park with a lot of ducks and swans. A very pleasant, green park for families to visit. A very nice walking track as well. There is a Land Train for families to enjoy and a Swan Boating Club where you can hire Swan paddling boats fir 30 minute slots.
A. R.
Great place, with mini golf, tennis courts, Park Run and a children's playground. Some formal planting, and two car parks.
A. T.
Great park, ideal for walks and days out with friends and family. Definitely recommend the mini golf for kids, and the boating when everything opens up!
M.
Nice spacious park, with children in mind, train ride, play areas, Swan boating Lake.
While we were there toilets were marked as closed in the mac centre, to use mobile ones, but no locations given, other toilets in the park were locked! VERY DISAPPOINTED CANNON HILL, YOU SHOULD DO BETTER
n. b.
Love it here first time in a long time so it was lovely x
A.
Very nice a clean park most of the time. Can get very busy especially the play areas. Ample parking including an overflow carpark and one at the top side of the park.
A. G.
Great place for a walk when it's not too busy.
Pleanty of room and can be very relaxing.
Disadvantages it can get very busy and cluttered on weekends.
Also there's no free parking if you want to come by car.
C. F.
Lovely park, shame have to pay for parking although <£3 for 4 hours isn't too bad
K. Q.
Still a lovely park. There is some works happening so some areas blocked off. The public toilets and the MAC is closed but there are some portaloos near the old building that is still waiting to be renovated. The tea room is open to get ice cream, cakes and drinks and you can sit inside. The golf, tennis courts, amusing park area and Swan boats are all open.
C.
It's a nice park, plenty of space to walk with wide paths and nice benches. Perfect place (when dry) for a picnic! Dog friendly to boot but be careful of the wild geese and such.
a. H.
It's within walking distance, part of it is more formal & part of it is very wild.
R. M.
Great romantic place. Very neat and well maintained.you ll find RaJa ice cream man
T. B.
Beautiful park for the whole family to enjoy 💗 They have children's fair rides, an outdoor mini golf course, a train car thing that circuits round the whole park and swan pedal boats. Lots of beautiful greenery, flowers and waters to beside 😍
M. K.
Nice spacious green space however can be very packed at times. No one is wearing masks and there is rubbish littered everywhere. There are 2 small ish parks within close proximity of each other so it's a great place for kids.
Overall it definitely needs some maintenance and more people adhering to Covid-19 measures.
H. A.
This is where the Parkrun 5K run is held in Birmingham, it's a fantastic place.
D. T.
Nice park, lots of different features hidden around the park.
Train tour. Mini fair ground and crazy golf.
Boats weren't being hired out but still there so possibly at a later date.
S. H.
Attended for 'In the Night Garden'. Great venue for the show with lovely grounds and lots to do. Disappointed we had to shoot off and couldn't make the most of everything on offer but know now for next year! If the weather's nice take a picnic!
a. o.
Turned up at the park today to find a plant sale from cofton nursery.
J. D.
I've been going to this park since a child and it never gets boring, massive park with loads to do and see, great for all ages.
Had a really lovely day 😁
a. A. (.
One of the best places to visit
Z. A.
Ideal place for day out, great for kids and families, boating experience was fantastic, fun fair at top end was great for the kids and overall cleanliness was very good.
A. G. E.
Requires a lot of maintenance. The lake is no longer filled. It looks grose with lots of mud and birds swimming in dirty water. The playground is also messy and the floor is full of dead leaves.
I still highly believe that the park has strong potential to become much better if only it was taken care of.
O. B.
Very Good experience to visit this historic and beautiful place in birmingham specially Tea house and lake inside the park...
Z. M.
Really good park, went on the swan paddle which was good, then small fair which the kids enjoyed and beautiful park for a picnic.
Tipu only a mile away for amazing food.
a. j. a.
Great and amazing place to visit.
Wounderful experience.
Soulful place.
D. D.
Great park, few fairrides for kids, golf, pedal boats on the lake, the mac, tearoom, food, ice cream, little train, take a picnic and spend the day. Good paths for riding bikes.
B. T.
Grew up in this area so my local park. So many activities and miniature golf and small fair rides along with geese to feed and park areas for smaller and older kids. The areas to walk are beautiful with great flower displays and grass aswell as picnic benches and tables for picnics.
X. X.
Not been for years to be honest but when i did it was a fantastic place to cycle, walk, take the children, have friends get together, eat outs , play group games, go alone read a book, watch the now disappeared red squirrels, take photos of the various areas with in the park, watch the ladies Rugby team practice while reading, very peaceful in places. I loved it. In recent times however I have been informed the park is extremely busy and tantamount to overflowing. As you can appreciate, that's not what anyone wants during the pandemic. I've decided not to venture in despite living relatively close to the venue. I'm hoping all calms down once the lockdown eases up and other places become available. I hope so, I long to go there again as not been in for a while as I've been out of the area. I gave a 4 star rating as toilets are a fair walk away as I recall. Located with the MAC I think? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Update:
Went to the park in August 2021 for fresh air and little walk around. We took the 'train' around the park for £2 which was more than reasonable. Gave us a relaxed view of the park without actually walking, which is currently very uncomfortable for me. Lovely friendly driver. Stepping on and off the train was very difficult due to the extremely high step. I has to be assisted in both on and off.I feel a step of some kind would be safer and very useful. But i can also see the hazards of providing the wrong type and someone slipping off it. ( I'm thinking of the foldable steps you can get from the high street i guess). It was busy but not uncomfortably so. Parking is now paid so be careful as they will fine you harshly. Toilet seems to be in the same place as I said 5 months ago. Didn't see any other facilities while driving around on the train. The park looks well cared and looked after with minor changes to how I remember it from many years ago. The MAC was having work done on it at the time of our visit, not sure how long that'll go on for but it's still open. Ice-cream van near MAC and park entrance via parking lot. It was a pleasant visit. Saw a person light a BBQ and leave it unattended, no park warden seen.
**Parents be mindful that bikers and roller bladers/skaters are travelling very or relatively fast around the paths. Quite a few children/ toddlers had near misses during our visit.
G. P.
Great place for small children to play and run around. Nice cafe
B. S.
This park is really good with lots of fun things for kids . There's a safari train in which you can tour the park whitout railways and there's also a fun fair - right next to it there's swan boats with a real birds in the same lake . All of this is payable (also payable parking) but it's really good . And you can play mini golf . I would totally recommend that park .
ا. o.
I liked it was a nice visit a good place to spend some time and walk the lanes
g. H.
Beautiful park, wide paths for the kids to cycle on, lots of people in good weather
N.
Usually come here and love it, today however....gangs everywhere not a very nice atmosphere and in my opinion a police presence on a daily basis wouldn't go a miss!
b. (.
Good place for a day out, easy to get lost in such a rich and vibrant atmosphere and always a great place to explore with family or friends. dogs
T. S.
There is lots to do here. You could easily spend the day here. There are swan hire boats £8 - £12 for 30 mins depending on the size of the boat. Mini gold, a small fun fair bit, playgrounds. They do a park run on a Saturday and junior park run on Sundays. The café is very well priced too. Parking is £2 up to 4 hours and £3 over 4 hours. At the moment they are also doing live in the night garden recordings too.
There are terrapins in the lake with the swan rides. The swan pedalos are quite easy to pedal too. Probably the easiest I've ever been on
J. L.
It was a nice day out with the kids saw a lot of baby birds around I'm guessing it was mating season a little while ago
Take cash with you if you intend to use the facilities such as swan paddle boats as it can get quite expensive
A. B.
Really nice park, really big and lots of activity occurring. The lake is nice with the Swan peddelos and the arts centre is a nice escape for a couple of hours!
Parking is a nightmare thanks to Ringo
E. T.
Lovely day out and last Saturday fun fair was at the park - most rides are 1.5 to 2 tickets and you can get 26 tickets for £20 which can be quite expensive if you have two or more children with you.
They have Dodgmens, little rollercoaster, bouncy castle slide, tea cups, slow train rise etc
The swan pedalo is great its £8 for a two person boat or £12 for 4 people boat for half an hour - so quite expensive if you factor in the fun fair aswell.
They provide life jackets for everyone so even if you can't swim you have that reassurance.
We went to eat at the Mac after and they didn't have much food on due to an issue in the kitchen. Meals for adults are like £8-12 each, children's cold sandwich meal where you can have 5 different items is £4.50 and cakes are £2-3 each.
Cannon Hill park is such a nice day out but obviously it can be pricey if you want to do everything like me!
P.s. they also have mini golf by the fun fair and a train ride around the park which is £3 adulta and £1.50 children which I didn't have time for!
A. H.
Pleasantly surprised visiting cannon hill park for the first time. Great family centric park with plenty of things to do for the kids! Boating, funfair, train ride and mini golf to name a few!
s. s.
Visited after several years to find a much improved park with lots more to keep everyone occupied. Didn't explore the whole park, but had a great time with the kids playing mini golf and riding the peddle boat swans as well as going to the mini fun fair. Also saw well maintained tennis courts and a kids train which circles around the park. Well worth a visit.
l. l.
This park is nice to walk around 😊
When the work is done it will look clean a fab again
A. H.
Perfect for a quiet day out with the family, ideal for cyclists, roller skates too with easy access to the Rea Valley cycling path. For families there is a small fun fair, mini golf, tennis courts and the Mac Birmingham Arts Centre.
A.
Great relaxing walk, can get busy on warmer days
J. H.
Great city park with activies, rides and coffee stops. Mac art centre great for classes and activies for all ages. Can be busy on bank holidays, so prepare for long queues for some of the food and drink options
T. M.
Great park for walking and exploring in. A number of activities available on site including mini golf, tennis courts and two children's playgrounds.
G. B.
Beautiful.... good paths for those requiring a walking aid.
M. L.
We regularly visit Cannon Hill. The MAC is worth checking out and the mini golf is terrific.
J. B.
Amazing park. With a centre of performing arts etc. Unfortunately at the moment the boating area is under renovation. However lots to do with Duck pond and wooded areas, nature reserves, tea rooms , fair ground rides. perfect for strolls , picnics or quiet reflection.
L. B.
Fabulous place for children when on holiday. Great value for money. Excellent family day out
R. M.
Nice Park I visited whilst spending time in Birmingham. Very lively but relaxed at the same time. Plenty of space too. Bonus - I also saw a Squirrel which got really close in exchange for dry roast peanuts 🥜
K. J.
Fun day out for the kids but there's not much for teens apart from that it's a great day out for every age and great place for a picnic or just to go for a walk. The lake is fairly big and there are Swan pedal boats there to ride on, there is an animal centre right next to here aswell for the younger kids.
I. C.
Really enjoyed the mini golf course. Did both easy and hard courses. Very useful nets for when our balls fell in water!!
M. M.
Such a nice place to visit, suitable for walks, picnics or just enjoying the nature.
J. H.
Excellent park, it even has (pay) parking spaces by the cricket ground, with lots of different areas to browse such as this mature, lushly planted lake.
P. A.
Lovely day out with the grandchildren, funfair, feeding the ducks, massive park with lots to do
D. S.
"easily" the best park in central Birmingham, calm and serene, especially when not to full and the suns out. I guve this park 7/10, only because, the few activities they have are a bit "pricey" and the refreshments are a bit way off from the main body of the park where people occupy!
D. P. j.
When the flowers are in bloom, its a great peaceful place to walk.
a. s.
Amazing experience with Pedal boat ride. Clean and tidy.
s. K.
A beautiful, peaceful park.A great place to visit.
a. s.
Beautiful park, well-kept and tidy. Good selection of hot drinks and lots of space. They have added parking via the app now so you don't need to root around for change - only downside is that the parking price has increased.
D. c. i. c.
Beautiful park. Great for recreation
S. F.
It's beautiful place to visit. A lot of natural beauty and calming effects and peaceful scenery
S. A.
Really nice park,Mini Golf ,Train ride and paddle boating facilities newly opened restaurants and cafes you can enjoy good meal with family as well
S. R.
This park was great, it's quite large with lots of pathways around the lake, some great scenery and green areas. We went on Sunday morning and it was still quite busy although there was enough space for everyone. Parking is definitely a let down, it's an okay price compared to some parks but, the spaces are limited. I paid using the phone app and was only given an option to pay for 4 hours even though we only wanted a short stroll. Overall a nice morning out and we got some great pictures too.
d. a.
We had a great time only thing what was disappointing was toilets closed so couldn't stay all day as planned
S. q.
Beautiful park to spend time with nature without leaving the city
P. C.
Cannon Hill Park is a great place to visit. I feel very fortunate to have this lovely public space on my doorstep. We regularly run and walk there and have seen some interesting wildlife. We saw a beautiful kingfisher the other day. Before the pandemic we regularly went to the MAC. Hopefully, after things get back to normal the MAC will have a resurgence.
G. L.
One of the best parks in Birmingham. Great day out for the family. There are two kids play areas, mini golf, tennis courts, boat lake and gardens.
A. H.
The lake has been cleaned out so no water. Hardly any wild life. Parking is quite expensive. I took a picnic. The fair is there still. £12 for a set of tickets. There's a little train you can pay to use. Takes you round the park.
S. A.
Beautiful place for family, full of enjoyment. Will be going again soon! Definitely recommend ")
S. F.
Lots of things like cafes rides etc not open yet due to covid rulrs
R. S.
A nice park with plenty to do, whether on the boats in the mini fair, walking or having food.
M. P.
Nice park, well laid out .there is a small fair for the kids but £2.50 a ride is well over the top.
N. A.
Really beautiful scenery especially in the snow. Gorgeous trees and wildlife. Would recommend for a nice walk 😍
D. H.
A beautiful outdoor space for meeting up with nature, family and friends. Whether you want to jog, walk, or even play tennis, this place has it all. Featuring 'the Mac' which is soon to re-open, and a Tea room. Just remember to be respectful of the residents nearby, & dispose of any rubbish. 😊
N. H.

Great park. Well kept, lots to do. The mini gold centre is so much fun!
T. K.
Awesome place to come with the family, loved it, fun fair prices are cheap, the Mac has coffee shops and clean toilets too, can't go wrong for a nice family day out 👍
M. R.
Nice relaxing place to walk.
Good cafe bar
S. R.
The park could be fantastic. We take our 2 grandsons here when visiting Birmingham. The last occasion was 14th June, the swing park was well used by small children but the apparatus was filthy. I'm sure the slides could be hosed down at close of play each evening. The train ride was enjoyed by both boys but the enthusiasm of the driver was positively non existent. I also asked for directions to the portaloos and was sent on the longest route possible to get to them. When asked if there was anywhere to get something to eat or drink, he said there wasn't. When going on this 'train' ride we then passed an outdoor/indoor eating area that sold drinks and snacks. The parking app. wasn't working properly either. Come on Birmingham, pull your socks up
N. B.
A nice quiet walk through the park on a sunny day. Squirrels running up and down the trees with conker's in their mouths... funny to watch.
v. b.
Great place to take the family, open spaces and the MAC is back. Definitely a must visit location in Birmingham.
A. W.
Beautiful park, variety of paid activities available which are great for children, otherwise enjoy the beautiful gardens and walk around!
S. K. Y.
Nice place for walk and exercise, the art centre provides hot drinks and warm resting place
E. C.
Beautifully maintained, lots to do, loads of wildlife. Well worth a visit
E. E.
Love this park enough for everyone we have a good couple of hours here feed the ducks have a picnic variety of playgrounds. The little fun fair boat rides golf and most of the choo choo train that goes around the park is a must do I have 2 children under 5 and both love this
S. K.
Lovely environment and scenery. However I noticed there few junk on the grass must be cleaned . Overall it was nice and reasonable prices. Staff are lovely and service
Car park brilliant
J. B.
Wonderful Parc with 2 playgrounds, tea house, fun fair and many things to explore
S. A.
Highly recommend this place. First time here, kids loved it, lots of attractions, with the mini fairground ride area, the swan pedalos, crazy golf and tennis area too. Fab day out.
T. L.
Loved the day here fun for kids enjoyable for adults
S. K.
No toilets in such a large park. Otherwise good experience, lots of open spaces, good green coverage, can be enjoyed a lot esp with friends and family. Dont forget to take a ball, bat, flying disc or something to sweat a bit and you will enjoy the packed food even more after the activities.
J. P.
A lovely park but no swimming, so if you're wanting a swim you'll have to go elsewhere!!
D. T.
Great day out. Can be totally free if you take a picnic and some ball games. The playground is tired looking and rusty with a linear layout and toilets are minimal, I only spotted a few portaloos.
N. S.
The park is lovely. I was there for a meeting. Unfortunately the grounds team started strumming around where we were. You can only use the facilities if you purchase from the café. Which is fine. Service was slow, however understand as just coming out of lockdown.
N.
Really nice and calming Park. Feels safe
K. E.
Great day out with the kids. Plenty to do, clean and well maintained
M. F.
A reasonable place to visit. The only problem here is the Parking Area. Just a limited number of cars can be parked. So, it can a disappointment if you come to Cannon Hill Park and there's no parking place. Management of the park must try to offer a larger car park. Thanks
L. B.
Great Park. Parking is expensive, parks in the UK should be accessible to everyone. But apart from that a great place to relax with the family. Maybe sort out the toilet situation. And a decent food or ice cream kiosk would be good...
A. K.
Lovely park, great for feeding the ducks, lovely walks, great cafe, toilets aren't open at the moment xx
p. v.
One of the best parks in town. Just avoid busy Sundays morning.
S. K.
Beautiful park lots to see and do ,lovely little cafe in the middle of the park, delicious cakes coffee and food. Paid parking around the park . Mini Elan Valley at the front of the park mini golf ,MAC coffee shop with loads to do inside . Not open when I visited enjoy.
E. M.
Decent park. Playground could do with updating but still functional..
U. 5. V. S.
Wow, this park has a train tour, some ponds, etc… anyway this park is excellent
v. g.
Really nice park, lots to see and they also have boating and rides available.
A. G.
Lovely sunny day at cannon hill park. Found a nice patch of grass to sit on and did some relaxing and drawing. Also lovely for a picnic. I like the lake there aren't many parks with lakes near uni. Such a big field you're never too close to anyone else sitting down, which is especially good during the pandemic.
R. H.
Lovely park ,nice flower beds, plenty to do the Mac centre is excellent just a shame about all the geese poo around the lake
A. N.
Such a huge brilliant park, with play areas, small lakes loads of birds, animal park, crazy golf, fun fair and wonderful trees.
A. B.
A large park with jogging track, tennis court, playground and big lake. Nice place to walk around.
j. b.
great green open area with woods around . Please take your litter home and keep it great.
A. M. K.
Love the park it's just a shame the parking is steep considering it had been free for such a long time
k. r.
A beautiful place for walks and runs.
A great place for kids.
P. W.
Lovely park to spend the day with the family.
J. B.
Park is tidy and pleasant to walk around, it was also good to see a couple of community officers walking around. The toilets were not open and don't look like they had been for a long time which is inconvenient
Z. Q.
Normally nice but currently looking rundown and the Cafe seems closed down and messy with works around it.
Other small cafe served nice hot drinks but the lady didn't seem to be wearing a mask nor did she care about customers having to do so.
Lots of dog poo on paths outdoors. .
Then it started tipping down to top up the experience.
Used to be great so still giving 3 stars
R. P.
Beautiful 🏵️❤️ park in Birmingham with Midland art center and Edgbaston stadium across the road .A great place to meet friends family day out and picnic..A gift to people of Birmingham .
K. G.
Nice space in summer time. There's a small party park for children. A pond, mini golf, some tennis courts, a little cafe and grounds for a little skateboard session. Ample space in the grass for small events that happen yearly outside of a pandemic.
G. a.
Park was really good but parking area was a very big disappointment took us a long time to get a space. As its too small. They need to expand the parking lot.
T. M.
Lovely big park with different things to see and lots of friendly squirrels!
K. J.
Always love coming here, the ducks are very used to humans so you can get great shots 😊
B. C.
Lovely park. Been a bit of a lifesaver for so many in lockdown. But once the covid situation has stabilised, it will once again be a lovely day out for families. The MAC for culture and a nice tea shop. Boat rides, train rides, crazy golf, play area, lovely gardens and some thoughtful memorials. A great way to spend an afternoon
J. P.
A wonderful island of tranquility in the heart of the city. Lakes, playgrounds, wonderful flower beds and a good tarmac path to walk round on.
New feature since Last visit was a land-train, quarter of an hour run round the park at a very reasonable price. See the sights and decide where you are going to walk to.
Visited a pleasant tearoom for a cuppa and slight rest, tea, coffee and a selection of herbal teas on offer.
Only problem at the moment is toilets are all closed because of COVID
Altogether well worth a visit
P. W.
Really nice day pleasent surroundings plenty to do for kids.
p. J.
Very nice park with a couple of places to eat and drink. Lots of space for kids to run around. Playgrounds are average.
H. D.
It's a big and lovely park!
B. N.
Had a great day in Birmingham food festival then chilled in Cannon hill park.
P. H.
Wow, what a day me being grandad i took the grandkids to cannon hill park, so much space, loads to do went on the pedlos £12 for half hr for 4 of us, proper bouyancy life jackets card or cash pymnts. Plenty of kids parks dotted round, cycle paths, seating, loos, kiosks inside the fairground for hot n cold drinks, ice cream vans n shop, small kiddies fair loads of safe rides for all aged kids, runs in at £1refundable credits card which you choose how much you want to spend, once done get your £1 back, walk up to the pre-booked slot at the nature centre 1 adult 3kids £17 great animals, ice creams snacks area, we had a picnic in the woods all round great day, thanks to birmingham council👍
S. A.
Lovely park in a central location. Could do with guests picking up their rubbish but nevertheless a nice place for families.
А. Й.
Nice place, perfect for the weekends and family. You can take a pedalo, long walk or just sit and relax on the grass.
A. U.
Overall I would say my experience at this park would be satisfactory. Its a huge open park with tennis courts, mini golf and a cafe. Although due to the situation everyone's facing some are not open. There's a nice walk path and several lakes that have ducks which is nice. A massive playing field which large enough for multiple families to play. The atmosphere is nice especially on summer days as flowers grow and trees are aligned beautifully.
There's nothing I could say to improve the park itself but only the people who visit.
L. B.
Took pupils to cannon Hill Park yesterday and they enjoyed it. Lots of parking spaces and space to play football and rounders. £2.40 parking for up to 4 hours which was very reasonable. We did not get chance to enjoy all the park has to offer this time but we will be back after Easter.
L. L.
Great Park. Always clean and tidy. They have a little fair there and crazy golf which looks fab. Lots of families there walking dogs, having picnics and playing ball games on the center grass. Park facilities are good. Nice little coffee shop on 1 side and Mac centre with lots to offer on the other. Very nice play park for the little ones to enjoy, which is very secure ..and of course plenty of parking.
Really enjoyed my few hours there 🖒🖒🖒🖒
J. K.
A tranquil break from the hustle and bustle of the city. Lots of paved paths through trees and flowers ideal for pushchairs or wheelchairs and lots of open green space for games or relaxing with a picnic by the ponds (mind the goose poo!). There is a tearoom (which has been open during COVID) but it’s awful and the MAC is close by serving good food and coffee but has been closed since March.
There is a play area for children but it is more for older children with just one set of toddler swings and a slide but the facilities are pretty good for older children, though could do with an update as they’re quite rusty and dirty.
V. H.
Revisited after 30 odd years, brought back lovely memories.
J. C.
Very good park. Nice to get around and walk and talk. There are some developments going on there which should improve the place much more.
S. M.
Nice, enjoyable park with lots to do, tennis, mini golf, paddle the swans and you have the Mac there too
A. A.

R. M.

S. D.
Went to do a photoshoot of yoga instructor. Nice flower beds, well kept lawns, beautiful backdrops.
D. C.
A very good open space close to the centre of Birmingham. There are walks through woods, or planted gardens, ornamental lakes or big open spaces. Lots for children to do with a play ground, cycle paths, playing fields. There is a boating lake with paddle boats for hire. The Midland Arts Centre is on the park with a very good cafe and arts events. You can park by the MAC to go in the park, or park for free at the end of Holders Lane by the woods.
D. V.
Huge park with plenty of quiet spots. There's always something going on.
S.
Lovely park, very clean great for a picnic, lot's of activities tennis courts, mini golf, Swan rowing boats etc.

My visit to what I've always considered to be one of Birmingham's premier parks was the first for many years. The weather was sunny & warm for late March & we hoped for a lovely long, warm & relaxing afternoon's outing. It turned out to be a much shorter visit than planned; a mostly pleasant enough walk through some lovely parkland, although I hadn't expected it to start with being charged for parking (£2.40!). Access for wheelchairs looked to be good & signs indicated toilet facilities were available, although we didn't use them ourselves. Sadly for us the pools were being dredged (great news for the pools no doubt) so some of the "views" across the park were somewhat spoiled (which we had not expected-there were no signs before we had paid to park) with most of the water fowl we were looking forward to seeing not in evidence. There were contractors vehicles moving around the lakes along paths closed off with bright orange barriers. It was clear public safety had been carefully thought out-although thankfully one dumper truck driver stopped his massive vehicle when he saw that a naughty little boy had been allowed by thoughtless parents to enter the barricaded-off roadway! The roar of digger & dumper truck engines was not a peaceful start for our visit nor conducive to the tranquil sojourn we were hoping for. However the rest of the park was clean, well maintained with a few of the areas of interest signposted. Useful plans of the park were dotted about but locations for areas of interest were not clearly marked despite the interesting information thereon. As we wandered around we saw interesting Memorials, a kiddies fun fair (closed) & play grounds, tennis courts (although sadly the bowling green did not appear to be in use any longer) and a very pretty crazy golf course (closed & also being worked on). Had there been no restrictions because of the COVID 19 pandemic, I believe refreshments would have been available in the Garden Tea Room. The historic "Golden Lion" building in the middle of the park was sadly surrounded by unsightly longstanding scaffolding pending "possible" repair/moving to another site. A Nature Centre is near with access via the park (or so it seemed-not sure that the Centre was open?), and the MAC cinema/theatre centre is on site but currently also closed - I presume due to COVID restrictions.
Around the expansive park itself there were lots of well-kept pathways, some flower beds, woodland & large grassed areas but there didn't appear to be as many flower/shrubbery beds or trees as I remembered (& very few newly planted trees from what I saw but then perhaps early for many plants &/or tree planting - hopefully plans for this are in place?). My memories were of the annual Tulip Festival that used to be held in the park years ago (glorious beds of colour!) & so many summer picnics on soft grass surrounded by brightly coloured flower beds with exciting plans looked forward to of afternoon tea & boat trips on the pretty lakes (sadly not possible whilst they were being dredged & COVID restrictions were in place - although from signage it appeared boating trips could normally still be had). As we walked around there were some benches for rest & relaxation (unfortunately mostly all taken up) so certainly not enough along the main pathways for those like me and my 84 year old father who would have liked to rest more often during our walk (sadly that meant he tired more quickly & we had to cut our visit even shorter). Overall our visit today was as good as wandering around most other city parks (I must say Birmingham has some really nice parks - mostly well kept with free parking) so today was not much different to any other pleasant park walk (though expensive!) because it was not the full afternoon "outing" we had looked forward to. Had there been more or better facilities available so we could have enjoyed lengthening our visit we would not have minded the parking charge so much. Obviously we had not picked the best time to go & our memories were brighter than today's reality.

Best park in Bham. Breathtaking place and love it.
O. O. C.
Incredible park with a huge variety of activities to do for all abilities. Lots of green spaces for picnics, chilling out, football etc. Play areas for children. Boating lake and train tour aswell. One of the best parks in Birmingham and England.
D. b. w.
big park for long walks family days out.
T. &. E.
Great park, for bikes, walking, running, skating, kids basically anything. The M.A.C is also based there so thats worth a visit especially if theres any shows on
G. W.
I used to go there when I was about 10yrs old nothing has changed , but it's a nice place to visit n have a rest. Plenty to do.
A. N.
Great day out. Plenty to do for both adults and kids alike. Visited on a summer holiday weekend but queues for boat ride, train ride and fun park were were not more than 15 mins maximum.
Car park was small but managed to find a space just as I was about to exit. There was space for maybe 30 cars, but there are some other car parks nearby. £2.20 for 4 hours, or £3.30 for 16.5 hours (very odd!)
Definitely worth a visit if you are after a relaxing day out.
A. J. W. T.
Clean park, big and nice ambiance, relaxing place,
K. S.
My children love it here. Lots to do and good amenities. Food & drinks available... Good quality

c. l.
Great place to walk or have a picnic
C. H.
Brilliant day out with mini golf, we had to wait as we went round but that's to be expected it was packed as was the park. But has this beautiful pink flowering tree
I. H.
A nice park. Well kept.
Only annoyance was two dirt bike riders that were dangerous, no helmets, balaclavas and intimidating.
A. L.
Great walk around the park. Was going to take son on the road train but the man looked very scruffy & was smoking when driving the train !!
A. O.
Nice day at the park. Pleasant of space for a picnic, got in just before the car park got crowded at 1pm. Had already booked for the wildlife conservation park and spent the afternoon there.
A. F.
Beautiful park, clean and well kept with tropical trees and flowers beds, small lakes and a pond where you can hire white swan peddle boats.
Great variety of water birds and lots of squirrels.
Two tennis courts and a mini golf course.
MAC centre is situated in the park with an indoor cafe and an outdoor cinema and theater.
Easy (pay and display) parking £2 for 4 hours.
Definitely worth a visit.
A. S.
A great place to go a have a walk!
S. F.
Great café...really friendly staff and quieter than the main building.
R. P.
The mac is abit of a maze since covid restrictions table service isn't very good when using the card machines as they play up.
The park is clean nice chill spot for family and friends
S. M.
Excellent park for a nice walk.
C. G.
This is a great park for a trip with the family or as a couple. There is a large lake to walk around or go boat riding on. Also when the weather is good like today then it's a great place for a stroll round.
Unfortunately you have to pay to park here. It's £2.20 for up to four hours.
N. k.
It's a beautiful park with few activities for children including mini golf, rides and cafes
M. G.
Very nice park. Something for everyone.
B. S.
Beautiful park with a nice mix between open space, formal gardens and family activities. Parking can be a bit tricky, but at least can pay by app. Normally at least one ice cream van in car park.
Currently no toilets appear to be available.
S. P. R.
Brilliant place very clean. Lots of activities loads of space overall great place to visit daily or a special occasion or if a advent of fair is there alot or some kind of advent
A. B.
It was fantastic. Today was my first visit there but I didn't regret it and my wife to be enjoyed the boat ride and train ride. It was amazing.
L. S.
Beautiful, perfect for walking, plenty off seating areas, fab cafe, excellent ride/park for children. Close to the Zoo. Plenty off parking and a 2 min park to Aldi for essentials such as picnics etc
D. H.
Lovely park. Has little fair crazy golf pedalos small play area and a cafe.
S. B.
Attended park yesterday with my 2kids,nice park however the fun pass area there was no social distancing it was overcrowded by loads of familys with there children. I purchased a fun pass and return it back and got a refund after going on 1ride due to loads of people not adhering to the social distancing rules. I mentioned this to the funpass kiosk staff and they agreed so we left this area. Otherwise the staff are lovely and friendly it's just a shame that people cannot follow the simple rules. The parks itself is five stars.
M. R.
Lots of open space, close to the Nature Center (see website). It has a large lake with pedalos (Seperate charge), crazy golf great fun (Seperate charge) take away tea room. Parking charge. Small car park. Toliets have opening times were shut when we went!
M. A.
Always love Cannon Hill for a change from my local/s areas - always busy but good, friendly positive vibes all the times I've been:) People exercising, families together, couples walking, friends socialising- beautiful park, is one of the biggest, lots of different areas. Like I said always busy but lovely:)
s. a.
Very nice park so big so the kids can run and play with their scooters safely.
It's have a nice lake with a beautiful view and that area with games for kids it's amazing and good prize .
The free play ground are good as well big and have different games .
J. N.
It's a beautiful place, there's always people there and it's thriving with wildlife for a park in the centre of the city. There's a café there but I haven't tried it. There's also some ordinary little parks for the little ones if you have them. Place looks beautiful and even during quarantine it's a nice place to walk around, just be aware that there are a lot of folk there.
Sidenote: on my most recent visit in the MAC carpark there was a walk in covid testing booth for those without symptoms, might help put minds at rest when going there.
b. s.
4 stars simply because they are in the middle of cleaning the lake, so its a little eye sore at the minute. But I do love this park and it was nice to see folk out in the fresh air.
A.
A lovely park with a large lake/pond and lots of plants and trees. There are lots of paths so you can stay away from other people or be in the open part per your choice.
There is also a golf and a restaurant there so you could easily make it a whole day trip.
E. V.
Lovely big park which is great for the kids. Two play areas, but both tend to get very busy at peak times and the toddler one in particular could do with a revamp. Nice spot for dog walking too, but better when less crowded as the park seems to attract folk who are terrified of dogs!
J. B.
Excellent park always really well kept
M. B.
Lovely chilled place for you and your loved ones , always go for run early mornings to refresh . Clean and joyful
A. R.
Nice park with 2 large ponds, play area for kids, large fields for ball games, tennis court and small mini golf/putting course.
N. J.

E. E.
Lots do to for the little kids, 2 play areas, fun fair, golf, and have varied events.
S. M. S.
A beautiful park just minutes outside Birmingham city.
Very pretty mature trees.
Shame it’s ruined by the chavs on the mini theme park and e-scooters running around everywhere.
Still, my 3 year old loved the train ride round.
N. J.
Great park, atmosphere and well kept. Not liking charges for parking.
M. N.
great park very clean and tidy, went to see the new memorial site. then had a sandwich and drink in the park cafe .
G. G.

Our 1st time there what a lovely park, going back to have a look at the fair this summer.
S.
I love this park clean and tidy used to come here as a kid to play tennis in the courts also has boats to ride and a mini golf course nice lakes and wooded walk paths great for long relaxing walks and the park also has a kids play area and know you have to pay for the car parking still it's pretty reasonable. All round a nice park to spend time with family and friends and also have a picnic.
A. C.
Ice cream in The Garden Tea Room was great, Swan Boats and Children's Fayre was well organised. Beautiful Gardens well kept. Nice day out for the family. Car park only £2.20 for four hours.
N.
Whether exercising or for enjoyment is definitely a nice place to go, an get busy at times though
R. C.
Lovely park, however it's a nightmare to park here on a weekend!
A. S.
It's great to have green space in urban areas. However, the park itself is OK-ish. Some of the pathways are narrow, so not ideal to maintain distance during covid. But in other areas lots of space but still lacking compared to parks down south. I may be biased in this review as I've only recently moved to the Midlands and my basis of comparison is vs my experience to parks down south. Looking forward to explore other parks in the region over the coming weekends. Parking only has an option for 4 hours, so if you are looking to spend shorter time, you have no option but to pay for minimum 4 hours. Also wish it was better signposted so you know what to explore.
h. b.
Nice and beautiful. Spotted a tree which resemble the Arabic word Allah.Should visit to appreciate.
A. H.
A beautiful and well looked after space in the centre of Birmingham. Great place to walk, run, skate and scoot. A couple of playgrounds for young children too.
A. q.
What a lovely day out at cannon hill park 😎sun was out and it was quite warm 👍 I’m slowly getting that summer feeling 😅 now lockdown has been eased today everyone seems to be a lot more happier . Birmingham is definitely my favourite city in the UK. I just love the vibe I get there . #cannonhillpark #park #swans #mosely #birmingham #minigolf #sunnyday #england #city #familyfriendly #iphone12promax
A. P.
Its one of the biggest park in Central Birmingham, its the perfect place for a relaxing walk alongside nature, a nice family day out, or local events.
I simply love going there for relaxing and chilling out.
The landscapes are well maintained.
However, the ponds and the canals needs a bit more attention with TLC as they seem to be swarmed with rubbish and plastic bags within the waters.
C. D.
Cannon Hill was great. I had to leave a lot sooner than I wanted tho, due to all the toilets being closed. If a public place is open shouldn't all the facilities be open as well. I am sure if the toilets get cleaned more often than usual and there are signs warning people to be a lot more careful than they usually are, I am sure the toilets could be opened as well. I am disabled and there was a board leaned up against the only outside disabled toilet, so I could not even use my universal key. I would have given it a five star if it had not been for the toilets being closed and I only gave it a three because the small cafe at the other end of the park opened which I was extremely grateful for because it was a hot day and I was desperately in need of an ice lolly.
A. S.
A goto park, when the weather nice. Lovely place ! Has rides ! Fun !
J. O.
Love this Park. Spent most of my childhood and my children's childhood here, my first time back in almost 15 years and still as beautiful
R. G.
Enjoyed a good walk round this icon Birmingham park. Still carefully looked after, but to be very frank it's was looking tired. I'm sure it has been used far more, by countless visitors over the last 12 months though. Huge shame that the MAC has closed, but very much a park with visiting.
