It's a nice place, because I think the idea to put a tropical garden close to the beach and the other pine trees it's cool but unfortunately at the moment it doesn't look very well and it seems a bit abandoned. It would get 5 stars if someone could look after it more.

I can guarantee that nobody will believe me but this is true - I saw some fish in the the Bourne river. One of them was nearly a foot in length, either a dace or a trout. I have never seen fish before! I was happily shocked! I am not going to say specifically where as I'm not sure what some lunatics would stoop to.

Stunning gardens with a lovely Mediterranean atmosphere and great views of the sea. Could do with being a bit better kept and they clearly didn't understand how big some of the plants were going to get, for example the phoenix canariensis palms, some of which are planted right up against pine trees. There are actually many more species they could include, too, for example butia odorata, washingtonia and jubaea. They could do with introducing more varieties of agave than just Americana, too. Very few of the species here are actually tropical and more Mediterranean/arid but they're definitely exotic and it's a fantastic environment to be in. Most of the plants here can survive along the entire South Coast and even a bit inland so it would be nice if more of the area was like this. You can get a good chunk of these plants from B&Q.

Very peaceful and tranquil spot, just off the seafront. Lots of different plants all in their own micro climate. Plenty of seats to sit on to enjoy the views and the atmosphere.

Took a detour to tropical gardens from our walk from Alum chine. Having seen lovely photos of them, I was quite disappointed. On top of a hill, so a bit of a steep walk & not very impressive, much smaller than I had expected. Perhaps it would look better in the summer.

A nice walk down zig zag path from top of the cliffs to Alum Chine and the beach through the sub tropical glen, nice place to sit in the sun out of any wind, generally quiet and relaxing, exits by Vesuvio restaurant for either a quick coffee/drink or nice meal in the restaurant. Good selection of flora and fauna in the glen as you wander through.

Many moons ago Tropical Gardens would have been a beautiful area.Sadly like most of these areas in Bournemouth it's become rather unkempt .The council must rake in a tidy sum in council tax a) because of the number of flats and b) I imagine the vast majority of local residents pay full council tax.What on earth do they do with the revenue

A bit of a gem here and i recognised some Mediterranean plants from a recent holiday.The gardens are nice and very well laid out.They are on a slope but it's quite a gentle one from the beach.At the top i noticed a car park.The gardens have seated areas and the trees would offer shelter from the sun,and very well tended.Like the rest of Bournemouth clean and tidy.The sloping paths would mean a struggle for someone in a wheelchair but it's unavoidable because the garden is built into the cliff.Well worth a visit.
