Free carpark. Plenty of spaces. -1 as the gravel is horrible but makes you go slow... which on reflection is kind of good with dogs, kids and other beach paraphernalia being loaded in/out of cars.

Great place to park if doing the coastal path

As its name suggests, this is a place in Saltdean where you can park your car. Half of it is tarmac, half rough ground which is no problem for my Landrover. Conveniently placed for the beach and the sadly dilapidated Lido.

It's a car park and you can park your car there. Quelle surprise!! On the other hand it's very well situated for Saltdean park and the lido if and when it is open again. Equally you can go round the perimeter of the lido and through a tunnel onto the undercliffe. From here you can walk all the way into Brighton. The number 27 and 27A buses go back to Saltdean Vale from there. The village itself has some houses with mock Spanish roofs and some art deco style houses as well. It is a sixties planning smorgasbord. From what I can see this is a free car park. File under B for bonus. Saltdean beach is comprised of rather large pebbles. A steep shingle shelf means that this beach is as good at high tide as it is bad at low tide with rocks galore. There is a cafe on the ocean side of the main road and steps down to the undercliffe.
