Reviews of Stanmer Park Nature Reserve

Lovely area to walk and explore. Various places to get refreshments as well as toilets and once your away from the car parks or village you can walk for miles without seeing another person. Superb areas for the dogs to run.

Lovely woods, with bluebells in April-May on the high ridge behind and to the south of the main house.
Good areas for picnics and gatherings and rambles or a bit of biking or hiking.
Ample paid parking, lovely sheltered garden and good café. When we were at the restaurant it was a bit slow on service due to staff shortage, the food is good. Recommend the scones.

Next to University of Sussex, the bluebells season in April is very beautiful. One of the happiest things in life is to lie on a meadow on a sunny afternoon.

Walks with beautiful views. Lots of places to have picnics too. Ideal for dog walks.

Miles of glorious walks over farmland, woodland and downs... Links to the University of Sussex, Falmer village, Ditchling beacon and Coldean. Close to Falmer train station and bus stops. Beautiful place offering multiple walks, including a 5.mile circular perimeter walk and if you want to see Ditchling beacon too you can also do a 9 mile circular walk. Joggers, cyclists, dogs and walkers can all enjoy and share this space. Even in the rain - spot my dog sheltering! Do swerve the woods on windy days though, flying branches aren't as much fun!

Fantastic local woodland and nature reserve, parking £1.50 for 2 hours , so great cafe selection and bust the walled garden too .
Great well signposted circular walks around the site , for cyclists, dog walkers and runners .

This a little gem on the out skirts of Brighton. The council has spent money on improving the area with better designated parking. There are new cafes too. The woods are amazing especially during the autumn. Its not the flattest walk unless you walk along the lane to the church, manor house and garden centre etc.

Beautiful park, huge, could spend all day there, clean and evan has cows grazing, lovely little village with cottages, and a tea room, worth a visit, couldn't see the blubelles as to far to walk, sadly but enjoyed the few hours i was there

Beautiful place . Nice walk . Shame about dog poo bags hanging places . And annoying about having to park to park. But guess things you done to it means gotta pay

We walk with Rusty in Stanmer Park 3 or 4 times a week. There are lots of of places you can get off the beaten track. Heading towards it's full Autumn Glory.

Magical park with many sections to explore!

Park is really lovely to walk around, but avoid the Stanmer House tearoom. Overpriced for really poor quality food and bad service

I took my teenage nephew (who is seasoned in such outdoor pursuits as the duke of Edinburgh award and hiking) to Stanmer Park on a cold sunday afternoon and we were deeply disturbed by the strange goings-on that we witnessed. The eerily unfinished Grand Design left me wondering where Kevin McCloud is and if he's okay. The small wooden goats brought my nephew out in a rash so aggressive it could only be attributed to sorcery. No surprise then that, whilst trying to escape this terrifying plane, we stumbled across a small cult, with an even smaller leader (suspiciously sporting a similar facial rash to that of my nephew) who almost definitely placed a hex on me which caused the end of my nose to glow red. We did eventually escape this labyrinth but I am still reeling from the experience. In hindsight I would advise to wear either a bonnet or a neckerchief when visiting to protect against witchcraft. 8/10 would recommend.
