Reviews of Berkeley Square
J. C.
Pleasant open area with lawn, some mature trees and an interesting statue in the gardens which is the remains of a replica of the Bristol High Cross, sculpted in 1851, representing Kings and Queens of England of the 14th century. Good place to rest, have a bite to eat, sun or shade your choice.

Great place to sit for a while.

Nice little place for some peace in the city

Berkeley Square is a pretty little oasis just off Park Street. Benches provided. Nice place for an impromptu picnic if you need somewhere away from the traffic to eat something you have just got from one of the many food outlets nearby.

Good place for a picnic but not as many benches as we thought there would be

Good for motorcycle parking, but awkwardly placed on a hill. Requires some wiggling if you want your chain to be in range of the provided bars and for the stand to be effective.

Nice little rest place for Lola my dog, x

Pleasant spot for a quick picnic lunch - great place to nip to if you work close by and the sun is out. Saves trekking up to Brandon Hill!

As a graduate of hospitality management, I was in the hotel industry for 7.5 years. The facilities are ok for a city centre hotel, but its not great. The choices for breakfast aren't huge, but I can understand if its a small hotel, limited menu means less wastage - nonetheless I have enjoyed dinner and breakfast during my stay.
My main gripe comes from reception. As an ex Senior Receptionist, I do believe customer service is lacking. When a receptionist is speaking to me, but then rudely picks up the phone and is on the phone for 5 minutes while I stand there is NOT ok. I also understand it is TNS standards, however, there is nothing wrong in asking the person on the other line to hold one minute - you do not get penalised for that with a mystery guest. Especially when I was talking first. What made it worse was I got no apology for the wait either.
In order to build brand loyalty - its the way you treat customers that ultimately brings them back to your hotel. Sometimes the price isnt everything.
It may seem I am complaining, but my approach is merely constructive criticism. I was trained to a very high level of customer service and it is upsetting how the attention to detail is so lacking these days.
Based on my reception experience, I would think twice about returning here - it wouldnt be my first choice and luckily this time it was a business trip

Beautiful square, perfect for relaxing in summer being surrounded by wonderful architecture. Good for parking if you need to pop to park Street.

Parking is unbeatable, with plenty of bays for motorcycles and free parking on Sundays, it also has a great park with close proximity to Brandon hill and local pubs, clubs and restaurants and more!

Lovely green garden, great for lunch in the sun and good location right by park street

A little park that not everyone knows about so if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle on a scorching summer day this can be the one!
