I love the way this building has been designed to let the light stream in. It is an unusual design in that it is hexagonal, allowing a view of the altar from 5 sides. The choir is AMAZING! We arrived just before mass started and could hear them as we climbed the steps. There is a car park underneath. The homily was inspiring. I have visited a number of times, always spiritually uplifting

We were there for the Katyn memorial Mass. A truly great spiritual experience and a poignant ceremony at the memorial stone after, outside in the cathedral grounds. Great sermon by father Jacek. Hail and Glory to the murdered Poles at the hands of the NKVD in this heinous crime in 1940.

Great location in a quiet street with beautiful houses around it. The shape of the building is very remarkable and is seen from far away. The greenery around the cathedral is very pleasing to the eyes. The atmosphere of the place is calming and relaxing.

This is one of the finest examples of 20th century modernist achitecture and art not just in Bristol but in the South West. It's got everything you want from a cathedral both externally and internally. It's Brutalist spire cut the sky aggressively whilst it's smoked glass windows hint at its expansive interior. Once inside everything is flooded by natural light and whether you believer or atheist it's shear spirituality is palpable. A 'must visit' if you're in anyway interested in architecture, stained glass or interpretation of the stations of the cross. A fine, fine building.

Great modern architecture. Imposing central space, the largest unsupported concrete structure built, since the Pantheon in Rome.

Are you religious? If you are and if you are Catholic then this would of course be your church. Built in the early 70s, it is still a modern looking building, with an "underground" car park, a large frontage and of course the big twin spires. I often attended services here because even though I am not Catholic, or indeed religious, I went to the primary school associated with this church and so attended various masses and even my friend's confirmation once.

A non-traditional cathedral, still with its own style and grandeur We visited for the penultimate day of the annual music festival. Great accustics. The Ayoub sisters were wonderful both as musicians and people. More events like this please

A very large church space designed in the 1960's and 70's. As many of the large churches designed in that time - it makes heavy use of concrete and large planar surfaces and is worth visiting just for that. There are heavy-duty stained glass in a similar style that provide interesting lighting. I've heard opera sung in the space which provides a good backdrop for large voices.

Award winning brutality concrete architecture. Distinctive cathedral with good acoustics. We attended an opera event here. It was a bit cold though in winter.

I am biased as I began my priestly ministry here in 1980. I loved it then, and still do. A beautiful interior and a very calming place within a busy city.

A full Cathedral for the Holy Week Chrism Mass is always inspiring. Holy oils are blessed to be taken back to parishes to be used for Baptism, Confirmation and for anointing the sick and dying. Almost all clergy of the diocese are on the altar, concelebrating this Mass and renewing their promise to serve. The music is great, and we joined in prayer and song with Notre Dame, where a similar Mass was due to take place, until the fire.

Unfortunately, the Cathedral is undergoing renovation work, so it was only possible to see the outside and it looks like no other Cathedral I have seen before, as it is very modern, being only 40+ years old.
