Reviews of Millennium Square
K. T.
A nice open space with water fountains when I visited the water fountains was all off and some removed I'm guessing for repair as it was all fenced off.
There is regularly something going on here threw the year and when I visited there was a funfair.
From here is wear you access the carpark below and the vehicle entrance is next to the square.
T. H.
Winter wonderland was happening when we were there. Very festive. Yorkshire Pudding wraps ....to die for!
P. C.
A very clean and tidy open space a few bars and restaurants along its edge. And I loved the roller skaters gentle skating to some music. And the water features entice the younger children.
C. T.
I love this place in the summer, the kids always enjoy, there are amazing restaurants around serving good food and just good vibes, good to catch a tan too. Always so lively.
H. B.
Despite visiting during an extremely rainy day, millennium square was a great attraction with plenty to see, with the addition of great restaurants and stores surrounding it.
D. C.
Fun square with lots going on including a roller disco this weekend
N. B.
Nice part of the city to walk through. Not much to do on the average day but there's nice bars around and there is a Christmas market set up which is great (as well as other pop up markets and bars).
l.
There was a food festival when visiting so made it extra welcoming. Lovely visit. Will go again
N. P.
An excellent country pub, good selection well kept of ales and ciders (lagers too I presume but not my thing so I didn't look), really relaxed atmosphere and blooming outstanding Sunday roast and deserts.
V. V.
Very nice place to chill. Everything was closed because of the situation now but the square it’s worth a visit. I’d definitely go again.
T. N.
Large and beautiful space. Lots of facilities and attractions for a family or friends to spend their time in and around.
G. S.
Grab your roller blades and bring out your inner child 🛼🛼
Place always has a lot of energy, music playing, dancers rehearsing choreography and people taking a bite on the many benches around the square
T. C.
Nice clean place to visit, ideal for children on sunny day with the water fountain. Lots of restaurant close by,
H. f. H.
Loving the Christmas "squid" light display and throw back roller disco where you can sup a prosecco under the canopy even in the rain as you watch your child career around the rink at full pelt.
A. I.
Large square with splashing fountains - so attractive for kids. Nice place to have a rest, watching seagulls and probably grabbing a cup of coffee from nearby cafes.
S. S.
We visited during boxing day.
There were some food stalls, it was vibrant and lively to spend spend evening at this square.
A.
Fabulous place, we really enjoy it,nice day out
Z. S.
Nice place with attractions and the river nearby. Also has some entertainment too
J. C.
Fantastic open space with lots of amenities nearby. We love spending a sunny few hours here. It has a hard surface and is large enough to practice skating & cycling while having a picnic and a splash. There are fountains & ponds within and lots of shops, cafes and restaurants close by. We The Curious has a large TV screen mounted for public viewings, and this is due to be upgraded. It also contains the large planetarium, or "giant glitter ball" which even from the outside makes an attractive spectacle .There's a very good underground carpark right beneath with access directly from/to the square.
b. 4.
Very pleasant area, clean, tidy. The water features are brilliant. Hot days seen people basking in the 6inch deep pool.
L. J.
Outdoor open space, at the present offering the Bristol Beach Club, Bump roller disco, water features and a comprehensive supply of refreshments for all tastes.
D. C.
Awesome for adults and kids always something going on and restaurants around ful of choice.
A. S.
Great space. I always bring the kids for a cheap fun day playing in the water fountains and the big outdoor screen is good to catch various things on including family films and Wimbledon 😊
C. R.
Great place to go to when in the centre of Bristol. There are eateries and bars not to mention the Bristol Aquarium and a hands-on science center. Little kids an run around safely and get wet in the various water features.
B. G.
Great place to start your harbourside walk. Kid friendly with lots of bars and restaurants close by.
M.
It is a lovely place but do not let your children run barefoot in the fountains! I saw a few times now some poor child stepping on the glass that's beneath the water and seriously damaging themselves.
K.
Fab Xmas market. It doesn't have much in it other than wines or school holidays. Ok for a stroll or visit to one of the chain bar or restaurants nearby
g. h.
Brilliant in the sunshine. Great mix of people from all ages and races, enjoying themselves skating, dancing or just chilling out. Me and my partner take our children there every Saturday to soak up the positive vibes.
K. N.
A really pretty location other some good opportunities for photos. There are powered USB charging ports which you can use for free and some seating but more would be slightly better.
It's also a good place to skate giving the smooth flat surfaces and very popular with roller skaters. Unfortunately there are no toilets here despite being such a public place, however there is a hotel and possibly we the curious which could offer facilities if you asked nicely.
I. S.
Love this place. Summer or winter you will always have nice time there.
D. B.
Meeting point & start line for the 2019 memory glow walk in aid of Alzheimer's. It was a great event with a fantastic positive vibe , even with the constant rain. If you want to help raise awareness for dementia, raise some money for research and have a pleasant stroll around Bristols historic harbour taking in landmarks like the SS Great Britton then sign up for next year's event. You'll have a fantastic time and help a truly worthy cause.
L. F.
Lots to see and do. Great for kids.
D. T.
Went in time for the Christmas market, was nice walking round, plenty of stalls and eateries
S. G.
Lovely place but extremely busy when the weather is nice!
A. R.
Nice place to go and chill out.
A. P.
Perfect place for an evening walk
A. C.
An excellent venue for children to enjoy playing in the shallow water features.
Though sunshine is definitely an additional benefit.
s. H.
Interesting to walk around, there seemed to be a few restaurants and a museum that was currently closed due to covid-19.
We spotted a cute solar tree that charges your phone, i couldn't say it made any differences to my battery life after sitting down for 15 minutes on a hot 25 degree day.. but cute concept.
k. w.
Water play in a fountain on sunny day, my.toddler loved it
T. W.
Interesting structures. Good place to relax. Nice open space
T. T.
Nice to just sit with a coffee and people watch.
M. W.
Great in the summer if your in Bristol harbour with kids for a splash or to relax or skate around
K. T.
Had fun teaching the kids to rollerblade and to our surprise there was a large but friendly crowd from all ages skating around the square. Nice atmosphere on a chilly Saturday afternoon
W. P. A.
To have time with your children, this is the place, to play with your children in your own different ways. this is the place. To just lazy around to enjoy the beauty architectural designs then there are a lot of places to sit around
K. D.
Great place to watch the world go by and if you have young children, as they will love to play in the water features. Go prepared, if you have young ones.
e.
A very nice place. Many attractions nearby such as Bristol Aquarium, We The Curious (museum), a minature fairground and multiple places to eat and drink. The fountain is very refreshing and relaxing - a great place to bring children of all ages. It, also, has a very open space (this helps to maintain social distancing during this time despite how busy the city is). The only downside is that the public restrooms are closed, meaning you have to search miles for them unless you want to pay for an attraction to use them there.
A. C.
Love it, perfect spot for summer and winter time.
N. J.
Fab end to our disappointing new years eve 2021. Dancing rides and laughter
B. D.
It's really well run. There's plenty of attractions and facilities. Really impressed. A bit concerned about some lack of social distancing though. But this is very difficult to police. Otherwise an amazing part of Bristol. Full marks
A. O.
Great place to hanging around.
It should be more green, more trees. Too much concrete makes it cold.
Statues are good and the solar panel tree is my favourite.
J. S.
Great place for whole family especially on a sunny day. A lot of fun for kids with water.
E. B.
Nice fountain area for paddling in
A. J.
The Square is nice area just behind the harbour. With plenty of space and entertainment. The water fountains and features are very relaxing. All the children certainly love the water.
L. A.
Not so great on a cold evening they need some heaters in their outside pubs.
R. R.
Tremendous amount of fun for children and adults alike, lots of interesting things to see and do, fun day out guaranteed.🥳
A. N.
One of few squares in Bristol city centre offering access to Bristol Aquarium, We the curious science museum and observatory. It has also got a number of restaurants in close proximity. It hosts number of events during the year and can get busy during those times. A water feature to its side provides some fun for kids when the sun is out.
H. M.
Beautiful place in the city. I’ve seen plenty of tourists here, including myself, that love taking photos in front of the planetarium mirrors or the water features. It’s a great place to go with kids, I’ve seen many fascinated by the water and having fun playing in it. A great place to stop by if you are travelling through the city.
C. A.
Great for the kids to play in the fountains or scoot/roller skate but beware the lack of shady spots on a hot sunny day!
M. S.
Nice and clean fun for everyone plenty of food and drink places lots of children playing in the water on a hot day
A. M.
Great place to go if you want to take your mind off the negative things in life. Very peaceful in the evenings
T. H.
It was so great to be out in the beautiful sunshine after being in lockdown for so long. I sat here and enjoyed my lunch, people were out rollerskating and everything- Loved it 💕💕
M. G.
A great square with an iconic huge ball in the middle with a great Christmas market
Z. W.
Beautiful space and well kept. Very clean and the fountains are lovely to sit next to. Lots of restaurants nearby and right next to the aquarium and the science museum.
J. P.
As concrete squares go this one is pretty good. Lots of fountains for kids to splash in, a big screen, some food/drink places and in the winter there's an ice rink. Close to plenty of other fun too like the science museum.
F. G.
Lovely to sit and have a coffee and watch the world go by. Just make sure you get charged right if you go to any food stalls and that your change is correct
B. A.
Meeting point in the centre of the city , close to events venue and enjoyable places to relax and unwind with friends
N. H.
Lovely place to take a rest. There is a screen often showing short films and a water fountain for if you are thirsty. There is an ice-cream van just round the corner and WeTheCurious which is a beautiful science museum with tons to do for kids and adults. It is centered around children and I have fond memories growing up with it
P. &. Y. D.
Lovely place for kids to play
J. H.
This location is great though mainly used for events, in the summer it is full of people enjoying the sun and water features! In winter the space is used for a few stalls and ice skating. They have a large screen which feels sporadically used, during the world cup it was showing alternative programming, this was good but It would be great to have seen it their as there was no large outdoor space which allowed a crowd to watch.
Great in summer poorer in winter.
V. D.
Excellent place for the weekend fun! Here on holiday weekend and it's been an amazing start here. Cheers!
A. Y.
Lovely place to spend afew hours in the center of Bristol that's away from traffic & can see the dock areas.
J.
Lovely little square, water features and art installations, near everything you'd need, short walk to the harbour, multiple restaurants and bars, a must visit if you're in Bristol!
G. W.
German Christmas market, very cute with a nice atmosphere
M. G.
Aged a bit since it was built architecturally, but still a good place to hang out.
C. H.
Pleasant large open space with parking nearby and huge tv screen display... Kids like splashing around in the water features. shame this open area is not used more often to make it more vibrant. Pretty dead empty space most of the time.
F. C.
a good place to spend time. Near river and amazing view. People spent time with family and friends. Historical place. There are boards to learn about history of the place.
Spent good time.
A. P.
Relaxing time out with grand child, he loved running about and paddling in the water.
A. G.
Nice square with museums, shops and coffees around.
m. a.
One of the happening places near the Bristol town centre
S. R.
In warm weather a great place for little ones to splash around in shallow water and water features.
M. S.
Good to visit with family
V. H.
Was really impressed with this vast modern square just a stone's throw from the Pero Bridge and the harbourside cafes. The water features are spectacular and there are statues of famous Bristolians. Did not venture inside the enormous mirror ball which I later discovered is an amazing 3D planetarium attached to the science museum. Liked the eco-friendly features: the insect villages and the Energy Tree with solar panels as foliage. You can recharge your phone for free at one of its charge points. The little café in the centre was closed but there are some public toilets.
A. S.
Lots of stuff to do, away from traffic. There are foods places, childrens education place, often events happening. Underneath is a carpark so it's easy to get too. Also close to the waterfront if you want good views.
M. L.
We went for a walk round the shops, abit quiet though, but that’s understandable during this times of COVID, however did enjoy the peaceful and siring atmosphere.
N. J.
Went ice skating, was a good price as we went in the first week and was actually quite quiet as it was an evening session. Was really enjoyable until I fell over and broke my wrist, but apart from that it was a very well run and well organised event
T. B.
Nice spacious area with water features, relaxed area to have lunch and rest.
F. V.
Lovely open space. TV screen shows film for free from time to time. If you don't mind germs take a towel and kids can paddle in the water. You can spend a few hours about here.
B. D.
It's a great place to visit especially in summer, plenty of water features, also the we the curious is also there along with a few places to drink.
The car park is the millennium square car park which is underground under millennium square which is secure with cctv & security guards.
There is also a locked in a room & a pure gym.
Walking distance from the centre and to the docks.
g. S.
Lovely part of Bristol, the kids love the water features, and there are loads of places for food and drink.
E.
Lovely carpark, very clean and tidy, just very expensive but I suppose they make use of the money they charge by the upkeep
H. H.
Busy lively centre with plenty of bars and restaurants and a good place to meet friends
R. A.
We go with our child and she loves the fountains. Nice open space close to the harbour with lots to see and do.
0.
There is a solar tree where you can charge your phone here even though it takes time! Amazing :-) this square is spacious and great for people watching, chilling. around it there are We The Curious planetarium, Bristol Aquarium, lots of restaurants and cafes.
J. J.

A. G. N.
An amazing area of city with lots of shops and hotels equipped with a huge LED screen and a huge mirror globe. You will find a solar tree which helps us to charging our electrical goods. The solar tree is an amazing structure for our present time
H. C.
Great slash park area when the weather is good. Lots of places to eat and drink nearby. Needs more seating, baby friendly areas.
L. M.
Superb physical art with fountains and pools. Kids love it.
S. K.
Nice public space with the usual pigeons and gulls! Water features which are popular for people to paddle in. There is an underground carpark here with easy access to the harbourside, Aquarium and We The Curious (formerly @Bristol).
L. C.
Great car park
J. H.
We picked up a bus for Open doors day. My partner dropped his elderly mum and me off before parking. I walked her slowly to the bus. There were plenty of walls to sit on, which was a blessing as any carer will confirm. The only critacism was that we could not find a lift down to the parking after. And only discovered it after the event. The square looked popular with children paddling, parents eating and drinking. The sun was out and that makes all the difference.
R. C.
Lovely place. Some nice events through the year. Great for a few drinks, some food and a nice walk
E. G.
Gorgeous place in Bristol by the water
I. (.
Lovely place for kids to splash around
C. b. F.
Clean and tidy. Shame toilets are closed however clean portaloo's are available on the harbour.
A. J.
Large community space in central Bristol, with restaurants and cafes nearby. There's an underground car park and convenient for We The Curious, the harbourside and the cathedral. There's a big screen so popular spot in the summer or when events are on.
J. H.
A nice unexpected bonus to our trip to Bristol between Christmas and New Year, as there was a little Christmas fair on here. My daughter liked the bungee / trampoline thing and I liked the cider, served from the bar at the base of the helter skelter.

R. A.
Quite nice to pass through but not worth a visit in itself.
J. C.
Great water feature for kids when the sun's out, and great access to local attractions, transport, restaurants and the town centre. Events also organised throughout the year.
R. K.
Beautifull place to visit on any season. Very good for kids on a summer time as fountains over there are amazing and kids can play.
