Reviews of St George Park
K. P.
A really lovely park with practically everything you could want when out with children..the little play park with tunnel slide, swings, accessible swings, see-saw, climbing frame, bins and benches...there's tennis courts, a food kiosk, toilets, paths for walking, scooting, riding bikes. the pond with ducks, the very family friendly skate park...was a lush morning out
B. G.
St George’s Park is a large Victorian suburban park with a pond, grass areas, large wheels park and a children’s playground. The playground has a large bespoke lizard head structure with tunnel slides and timber climbing ‘ribs’, swings, a seesaw and a toddler sand pit with mini slide.
The complete playground is surrounded by a fence and is a dog-free zone. Additionally a wheels park is located at the western end of the park to go skateboarding, rollerblading or riding a BMX bike. The pond has swans, ducks and sometimes ducklings which children will enjoy too. Other facilities are available are toilets at the entrance, seating and there is a full time attendant at the park. The park is largely accessible by wheelchair, although some areas are not.
There is some parking on nearby Chalks Road, St. George. A bus ride from the city centre will take around 20 minutes, by car just 15 minutes or a walk will take you there in 45 minutes.
St. Georges Park is open at all times and is free to enter.

It's a nice place to exercise on a sunny morning. It certainly gets very busy on warm days but seems a lot smaller now than when I used to play there as a boy half a century ago (blimey!) I remember it when it had drinking fountains and a Victorian bandstand. It's interesting to see pictures of the park from 100 years ago online which show it with very few trees, also a large factory in the background.
People still let their children feed bread to the ducks although they should know better. Ah well...
Very popular play area for younger children and a good skate park. 😀

Brilliant to take the kids to the skate park. Surrounded by good cafes, including a basic cafe in the park. Got really good play and there is plenty of space. Taught my little one how to ride is bike without stabilisers. The skate park was great because it is flat and ramps are heat for the balance bikes.

I visited this park for the first time. It looks great, unfortunately we couldn't fully enjoy it because there were some works around the lake, so it is just a big hole full of mud.
Hope to be able to enjoy it next summer!
r. a.
I like to walk my dog around the park as it's open, airy and green. Lots of people around so it feels safe.
The lake looks like it's having maintenance work being done on it at this point in time though, so don't expect to see the lake.
F. H.
Amazing - just so so beautiful! Felt privileged to be there. Paths lined with majestic trees and an active lake with ducks and swans. A small island in the middle where you can see squirrels, birds and other rodents wondering about. Play area was good for the kids and there was also a skate park and a small basketball court. I haven't visited much in the past but my rediscovery during the recent lockdown walks made me wish I had!!
C. W.
Lovely leafy park with a small lake, hilly as well as flat paths, public loos, a kiosk for coffee / snacks, and a decent skate park. I wish parents were more sensible in the skate park (the number just wandering around getting in everyone's way, not teaching their own kids about being safe... too many!) as it gets very busy, but if you go at a quiet time it's fab.
D. W.
Really very ok park. One of the best ok parks I've been to. Playground? Yes! Skatey things? It's a yes! Coffee/snack cabin? Yep, you guessed it. It's a yes!
Lake? Yes! But it was gated off. What a bladdy liberty. 3 stars. Will come back if I'm in the area and am desperate for a play.
C. S. (.
My favourite park in Bristol. Small but perfectly formed, with a beautiful Victorian avenue of trees and a pleasingly curvaceous pond (sadly neglected by the council, one side has been closed off for years and left to fall into disrepair).
I. R.
Very nice park with good maintenance.
M. B.
Quite busy park but obviously only because it's very nice. A lot of space for different activities. Coffee/ice-cream shop and beautiful clear pond 👌🦆
B. T.
Great city green space, wonderful dog park, nice people 💚💚💚
M. E.
Beautiful park which is generally well maintained. Decent little coffee kiosk. A lovely place to sit in the sunshine ☀️
S. H.
it looks nice the park with plenty of activity and walkers everywhere. I only priced a job overlooking it but it looks very nice .another green space hopefully nobody builds on
P. N.
Lovely park for walks with a play area, cafe, tennis courts, skate park.
C. S.
There's a coffee shop called The Bake Box in the centre of the park serving snacks also
A. W.
A great local park with a lake, cafe, toilets and a children's play area. Very popular and busy, especially during COVID lockdown
A. M.
Great skate park for kids and adults, public toilet, coffee shop, tennis courts, play area!
P. T.
Skate park is excellent. Some of the ramps are a bit worn but the atmosphere is great, from little kids on scooters and balance bikes to adults everyone seems to get on well and share space easily.
Update: ramps currently part closed, maybe for renovation?
J. B.
Lovely park with lots of space.. the pond is having a refurb and will look lovely when completed. Great play area for young children.
V. D.
First time at St George park.... Amazing Place with a lovely little lake that makes this park really particular. My little one enjoyed a lot to see the dacks swimming in the lake. We ll be back there soon.
S. W.
Lovely park plenty of grass, trees, wildlife, skate park, play area lovely place for family memories
L.
Beautiful place, always quiet in the morning and a great place to walk the fogs. There is friendly wildlife and there is a small cafe that you can have a coffee and sit down.
I. S.
I didn't seen the entire park as the children wanted to ply in the playground to much. But the playground it was amazing for them ,my children didn't want to go home, they had so much fun. I hope next time we will walk around as well. I recommend going there.
C. D.
Clean and green ! Nice place to spend a day out with family. You can set up your mat and have a picnic or just walk around the park.
K. S.
Great Park. Spacious. Nice kids area. Not massive, but nice. Plenty of space for walks, sitting, relaxing. Swans and ducks to feed and watch. The pond/water area is currently being redone, so it has been sectioned off. Tennis courts can be booked. Outdoor Table Tennis. Skateboard park. Near shops as well.
V. G.
Great place for a walk, coffee or just to just sit and watch the world go by. Local to shops and to stop for a bit to eat. Just wish dog owners would pick up the poo!!
C. G.
It's nice and relaxing, great slides and sandpitt for the smaller ones and a large skatepark for older children.
M. P.
Large and well managed area with facilities to suit most visitors inc bowling green cafe and toilets. Great bird life and lots of squirrels
P. W.
Great park, large skate board/scooter/bike park plus swings, slide and climbing nets and a big duck pond. Nice coffee hut too. Just wish it was closer to home
D. C.
Would have given better rating but the lake is empty at the moment to clear out all the mud
E. J.
It's a lovely park, just a shame still that some find it acceptable to dispose of plastic bags in the lake! It is however a lovely park and have lots of memories growing up.
K. K.
Ideal park to bring kids, little ones as well the bigger ones. Lovely place to rest or enjoy time in playground.
L. P.
It's a really beautiful park. I used to go there as s child And loved it then. There's so much to do.a lovely area for children. Tennis and skateboarding and of course the lovely lake and so many beautiful old trees. A real treat 😅
A. J.
Really nice terrain. Big pond in the centre. Theres a tennis court, skateboard park, ping pong table, playground, little food/drink stand and public restrooms. A good place for a picnic, to walk the dogs or have fun with the kids.
s.
Lovely place for a walk, also with a dog any time, daytime and nighttime. Now (30.12.2021) partly closed due to maintenance jobs.
P. M.
Extremely tidy grass cut etc. Cafe available & ice cream van parks by lake approx 2.30 pm onwards. Lake with fountain. Childrens area with swings etc. Skateboard Park. Some parking at entrance. Bench seating scattered around. Very enjoyable for adults & children.
S. D.
Lovely place 4 year old loved feeding the birds cafe and toilets avaliable and play park really nice park and it's huge
K. S.
Lovely park - lots of green space, a nice little lake area, tree-lined walks, kids play area, skate-park, cafe. Pretty much all you'd want!
M. B.
Very nice small park
Lovely lake play ground for children for different ages
R. B.
We live right next to the park it's great for everyone and a nice walk
B. L.
Love this place. Probably my favourite park in Bristol. Really nice rolling green space with a really nice long row trees lining one of the main paths through the park.
The park also features tennis courts, a skate park and a lake with it's own sealed-off space when birds can have undisturbed habitat.
Al-in-all, a lovely space to picnic, catch up with friends or just chill out and watch the sun go down.
S. D.
Lovely skate park , play area and free space.
N. D.
Beautiful big trees and nice vibe! :)
L. L.
Lovely park if you can get past the trustafarians, rogue dog turds and the odd mountain of tiske cans. Comes into its own during the summer months and festival season.
S. E. K.
Lovely, well established park. The little lake in the centre could use a dredge - blighted by litter and lots of lakeweed.
R. R.
St George Park is a great community asset but isn't maintained as well as it should be by the council. The playground is so popular it needs to double in size at the very least and needs more imaginative equipment like those at At Andrews park.
The pond is also great but again, it's taken 3 years for the council to not fix the path.
J. “.
This park is really popular and you can easily see why, it has Tennis courts, a skate park, two outside Table Tennis tables, a Basketball court, a coffee shop, a lovely lake with resident and visiting wildfowl and plenty of green areas to take advantage of...... So good.
V. N.
Anyone for Tennis 🎾 Nice place for a walk, cycle or a hot drink.
L. R.
Nice place with nice friendly people.

N. B.
Wonderful little park with some beautiful tall trees
A. N.
Fairly big park with a designated free car park, and plenty of on-street parking around. Pond, decent playground, café, toilet block, community garden patch, skate park and basketball court. Private tennis courts are also available for hire. A number of paved routes to walk around and stay socially distanced.
R.
Great park. Skate park, lake and peaceful areas. Wonderful avenue of plane trees.
J. B.
Great park. Lovely big green space. Good for dog walking.
R. N.
This park is beautiful and spacious, lots of room to play sports like badminton and frisbee.
F. M.
Loved it I got a few tricks in. Great place the only reason I didn't rate it 5 is because its very popular and lots of little kids are there. Oh and some the concrete has came out of the ground.
M. G.
Great park and lake! Loved the hills there!
A. G.
It was better last summer but will be great when the work is finished, go there.
D. E.
The small lake has an interesting variety of birds- Moorhen (shown), Coots, Grey Heron, Cormorant, Little Grebe, and in winter a few hundred Black-headed Gulls with scattered Herring and Lesser Black-backed. The gulls and Feral Pigeons are occasionally subject to attack from a Peregrine Falcon. The core of St. George...
R. S.
A lovely place to go to with children, friends and family. You can relax and have a little picnic. There's a bike/scooter/skateboard park, also a playground.
Lovely paths for walking. The parking is free in the surrounding streets, though the parking area is closed at the moment.
A. M.
Nice quiet park. Little cafe. Boating lake. Skate board park.
D. H.
Sat under the blossom trees by the lake with an ice cream from a van parked beside the play area. Also includes a skate park, tennis courts and bowls green. Very pleasant afternoon and place to sit or walk around.
R. F.
Great park. Brilliant for a good stroll with the dog and let the kids go free in the play park. Skate park looks very good always busy.
D. C.
Fantastic park for all ages. Play areas.. large Duck pond. Tennis and skate boarding. Extensive grassy areas for sitting and picnics.
S. B.
Lovely park to walk around and a great atmosphere. Adults and children playing, exercising, relaxing and making music.
h. f.
Lovely open planed park, nice pond...lined tresses very therapeutic...
C. L.
It was nice at the park with rennzo and the kids they love it it a nice park...
Y.
My favourite park in Bristol. It has an onsite cafe, a big play area for the kids, a skate park and a large pond with ducks and goose. It's a park that serves the local community of St George and the surrounding areas of Bristol very well.
M. P.
Currently the pond is being worked on so a bit unsightly, but otherwise a great space
S. G.
Wonderful! Skate park perfect for my children, I used to do the same 20 years ago!
N. D.
Lovely park, it has a bit of everything - child's play area, pond to feed the ducks and a lovely green walk 👍
D. T.
Fantastic park with pond in the centre. However there are no walls / hedges next to roads on many of the boundaries, so you need to be careful with children and dogs.
V. N.
Anyone for Tennis 🎾 Nice place for a walk, cycle or a hot drink.
S. M.
Nice big lake great for feeding ducks
t. p.
Nice open space nice big lake to feed birds
J. B.
Very pleasant and mostly well kept park. Well used and loved. A much needed green space.
M. j. B.
This Park brings back nostalgic memories in particular as a toddler when my Mum took me to feed the Quacks, Quacks and she remembers boats on the lake back then in the 1960s. .
R.
Great for all ages, dogs welcomed
S. S.
A lovely local park and a real part of the community with families, friends, couples etc. all out enjoying nature together.
A. T.
First time visit today. Very impressed. Free car park next to the entrance. Big skate park with some very funny graffiti. Large pond come lake, bit smelly! Plenty of ducks and a beautiful heron. Lots of open spaces to play or just chill.
V. O.
A nice medium size park. Gets very busy on some Summer days though its well used all year round. Skatepark, great adventure playground for kids. Good dog walking park. Nice pond with little bird sanctuary in middle and nicely landscaped with lots of mature trees. Throughout the year it also has some local events. Generally a great local amenity.
s. t.
Not possible to walk all round the lake, but it's still a nice communal green space in the middle of lots of houses. Nice for a walk in the early evening.
Has a child's play area and a skate park section. Also tennis courts.
R. K.
If you want to drink cans on a date this is the spot. Whenever canning with a new bird make sure you have cans.
j. h.
Good park for all including the Hobos...
B. A.
Well maintained park with lots of facilities including car park, skate park, play park, football court, pond etc. Great for a walk as theres a slight incline on the route. My son loves the skate park and I love the pond.
D. T.
Fantastic, large space with mostly well kept facilities (the toilets can be a bit messy but at least there are some).
G. M.
It's a lovely park. I use to go there all the time back in the 70's. Though part of the walk around the lake is fenced off because the lake bank is collapsing.! The park needs maintenance!
W. L.
My favourite park. Good for dog walking, tennis and skateboarding. Also a good place to bring the kids as there is a closed off children's play area. Lovely lake to walk around though part of it is in need of repair. Avenue of trees is spectacular in autumn and pretty all year.
A. A.
Its a great place to go. Its very Beautiful.
K. M.
Perfect place nice pond skate park
C. M.
Fantastic park to go to as it caters to kids and elderly people with plenty of benches to sit on and also a lot of tree's to sit under if you want to sit in the shade.
Reason for not giving 5 stars is that the *pond* is completely disgusting as the water is green with rubbish and even had shopping trolleys in the water which the ducks/swans were floating past.
L. P.
The skatepark is very popular with kids of all ages. Playground also good for kids. Pleasant pond, you can get duckfood at the kiosk which serves coffee, soft drinks and snacks.
M. M.
Nice Victorian style park with playgrounds, skate park, tennis courts, coffee shop and a boating lake. The railings have long gone but it does mean that you can access the park at all times. It's in a valley between 2 hills so you get a bit of a workout when walking round but it's not too strenuous. It would be 5* if they cleared the lake because there is a lot of wildlife for the children to feed
a. j.
Great place for a leg stretching run...lots of lush soft grass. Cant risk running on hard roads anymore, so this was perfect.
The park is beautifully kept with a nice big lake in the middle. Lots of seats...which doubled as improvised gym equipment!
Perfect foil after a hard day.
S. S.
St George’s park just as the sunrise starts to creep making the sky look like there’s a fire.
P. G.
Wasn't so bad nice afternoon out, I wouldn't recommend the green picnic benches area as social distancing go's completely off the scale, like to Friday 23rd of April in the afternoon 7 adults and kids all around the same table maybe they are immune, or maybe they don't give a sod about anyone else, or maybe they are looking forward for another LOCKDOWN,.and they must have been deaf people as one's woman's mouth could be heard all over the park, or maybe she likes the sound of her own voice, who knows
r. c.
Love this place is always have since I was a child one one the nicest and cleanest parks to visit in Bristol. They have a beautiful lake and acres of beautiful green to walk around pet friendly and the park has a nice fence around so the children are kept safe....they also have a nice shop to get tea/coffee and ice cream with tables and chairs......I couldn't praise this park enough. My favourite place to be in the summer.
J. B.
Only seen skate board area as with grandchildren but what i did see looks very nice
g. b.
A lovely park , cafe , toilets , no fishing though
K. B.
Really good facilities. The play area is really good for all ages. The skate park was good but very busy in the afternoon.
M. W.
A beautiful, extremely large park with sprawling well kept lawns & an abundance of well established trees with a duck pond that also attracts swans. A lovely place to spend the summer days having a family picnic or barbecue. Great for children with a basketball court, a large skateboard/BMX park for kids & adults, a play park for smaller children & a cafe selling light food, drinks & ice cream with outside seating & if you want to do some shopping there is an Aldi across the road. Parking available
C. H.
Played tennis here, marvelous tennis courts, well maintained and a bargain at £35 for the year membership. The park is full of locals, good skateboard park, lots of green space - no problem with covid social distancing. Ample free parking too, and next to an Aldi for snacks. Really positive visit today, will come again.
S. W.
Beautiful trees, hUGE space with playpark, cafe and good running track+tennis courts, herb garden lake and Uber skatepark. Bring your helmet ! (I think also a crown bowling green but closed access)
K. W.
This is a lovely park. A nice space to walk with dogs and children and get some fresh air in an otherwise built up area. It has a big lake. A childrens playground. A skate park and basketball court. And lots of fields to walk around or sit in.
M. K.
This is such a beautiful place to go with your family but to see the damage that people have done to this park is shocking, just for fire 🔥 wood, to light up there barbecue's it's disgraceful. To destroy nature for your own pleasure, I think people have forgotten that these are the trees that give us oxygen and cutting them down is unacceptable, would you cut down your own house to use as fire wood 'NO' I didn't think so. The shops are not far to buy coal from, remember appreciate what you have before it's gone. Nice space for all the family with a pond, play area, great walking space and state boarding and bike facilities great funny for all ages. Great day out for everyone, all you need Is a picnic.
l. i.
Very large a park, skateboarding, there are lake, there are children's area
K. R.
Nice clean park, fun play park, and lovely pond full of birds, ducks and geese. Only negative is that it's super busy, but that's hardly surprising.
N. M. B.
Beautiful place. Great Park for kids there's a skateboard area and lovely walk with the dog. My only issue is that there's a huge pond with no safety. My dog fell straight into it and luckily I was quick enough to save him. I think there should be something around it because children can easily fall too.
S. m.
Love it, involved in much in it, helping the community vegetable garden and helping to run the local community festival Redfest! Hopefully if continues!!!
K. M.
Been coming to this park for years , visited today with my youngest and wow !! Was really surprised at how dirty and littered it was and just generally looking a bit unloved .
G. B.
Lovely park with fountain, cafe kiosk and normal you can find an ice cream van too. The lake is nice, but could be quite a bit cleaner.
J. F.
Great Park to just chill in. Also good to take the kids and dogs in too.
M. d.
The skate park there in the 80s was better than what's there now! Toilets are shut thanks the there misuse, dog walkers need to pick up after there dogs!! Ok for a picnic in the right spot nice when the sun is out. It's typical of an intercity park the few spoil for the many and unfortunately the council doesn't have the money to maintain it properly, they do there best.
G. N.
Really nice place to wander round, or just pass through. Always people around, and plenty of seats
There's a great kids skateboard/scooter/biking park for speed and athleticism. Basketball court and a good amount of hard tennis courts.
Also for the younger ones a super play area with swings, roundabouts and slides.
For the less athletic there is also a bowls club.
When I visited a kiosk cafe was getting ready to open with a paved area with picnic tables to sit and enjoy your coffee watching the world go by, or watch the ducks on the lake.
There are toilets, though I haven't used them, but on the outside look clean and modern.
As you may see on the map the park is in the centre of the main roads coming in and out of Bristol, so there is the ever present drone of traffic.
There is a car park which is free ... at the time of writing. I've recently heard a rumour that Bristol City Council may introduce car parking fees at their parks. I may have to rethink my exercise regime if these charges come in.
Just a couple of down points. Whilst there are plenty of seats round the park a lot of them need repair or replacement.
The lake needs dredging of the litter people drop, and at the island end of the lake is stagnant and choked with weed and foam.
But just to end with, there's a plaque outside the part saying that Bob Hope used to play there when he was a kid.
M. B.
Very nice park with fishing lake. Lived here as a kid with my skateboard and or fishing gear. Caught the occasional decent sized carp every now and then to. Make me wonder what kind of size the carp are now.
N. F.
Literally on our door step and the main reason we moved into the area. The park has been a constant in our lives. The play area was great when we first had our son, then we moved on to football and running around the lake. Now we play tennis every weekend. There's a new café kiosk with tables and parasols for the sunny days and toilets. There's a great community feel culminating in the annual Redfest. We love it ❤️😊👍
P. H.
A good sized and popular park with a skateboard and bike section. On the edge is a new 'modern building method' small housing development on stilts over a car park.
M. B.
5 stars for the park. Nice play area for little ones and perfect skate park. Lake full of ducks and birds. The only downside is the 100 years old ice cream truck that operates there. Don't get me wrong, ice cream is absolutelly needed in the park 👌😁, but in the play area you literally breath just smoke and gases from that truck. The whole purpose of a park is to enjoy some fresh air. Or not anymore?
G. B.
Nice chilled space, perfect for a sunny day to relax. Skate ramps for bikes and skateboards and tennis courts. Big duck pond and plenty of green space for picnics!
P.
Fab local family park! Has a skate park which is always in use by many skaters and those on scooters.
Also used by its of young families every day of the week.
It is also home to Redfest which is a yearly local festival (3 Aug). Lots of stalls with craft, clothing, food, gifts as well as local talent to entertain. Great day out.
Y. S.
Very good park, lots of room to run about for the kids. The play area is very small and busy. Lots of dog walkers.
K. C.
I love St George Park. From sunshine, autumn leaves to crisp white snow. There is never a bad time to visit this park. Old or young it caters for all. There is a cafe in the centre, ping pong tables, tennis courts, skate park, play park, pond with ducks, plenty of green space, meter markers for runners.... the list goes on. Great place to chill, read a book, people watch, walk the dogs, take the kids etc. Love it!!!
A. T.
Lovely park with good play area, basketball courts, skate park, etc...
C. S.
A really lovely, varied park suitable for a wide range of ages. Sand pit, a generous number of swings, a wooden see-saw, extensive low wooden climbing frame area, a small slide for little ones and a bigger, steeper one for older kids. All nicely spread out over the space, and on varying levels, so plenty of running and climbing space too. Clean, a really good distance from the road, overlooks a big duck pond (which is safely the *other* side of a fence), well-populated, and people are really very friendly (and helpful: a joint search started immediately when a little boy lost his dinosaur in the sandpit, and when another lost his cars - how unexpectedly kind!). Kids all seem to look out for each other really well, too. There's a decent sized car park attached, too, although the loos were shut & boarded up when we were there (Feb).
My three (7, 6, 2) had a brilliant time, I had a real job dragging them away, as did every other parent I overheard - make sure you plan extra Extraction Time into your visit!! 😉

Great park. Kids enjoyed the playground. Lovely pond with ducks. Plenty of grasses areas to sit or run round. Benches along the paths too. Loses a star for facilities, public toilets having been closed which is not helpful at all
J. R.
Such a lovely place. Really peaceful. Looking forward to seeing the new improved lake.
J. M.
Nice family park with plenty of pathways through green space. There's a skateboarding area and a playground with slides for the kids. Unfortunately, the public toilets were closed, but otherwise what you'd expect.
K. A.
Lovely Victorian park with duck pond and skate park. Cafe hut is closed in winter but good when open. No loos outside of summer. Kids play park is okay but a little run down. Nice to walk around.
B. “. C.
Friendly park in a friendly area a bit lacking in the horticultural department but a pleasant green oasis nonetheless.
b. g.
Relaxing with Natch, (my dog)
A. C.
Big park with an excellent wheel park for skating and biking. There is a decent kids playground . There are tennis courts for hire , there is lake that has an algae problem but wierd people fish in it . There is lots of space to sit and hang out.
J. R.
Used to go here as a child in the 80s with my nan and now take my children there (even though I live in Portishead). A huge open space which is great for picnics or kicking a ball around. There's a good play area and skate park (although this could do with updating). It's a good job these sorts of parks were built in the early 1900s(?) otherwise we'd never have vast green spaces like this in our cities.
H. D.
Amazing park. So much to do! Play area, pond, massive green space skateboard ramps and tennis courts! Lovely little cafeteria that sells snacks ice poles and drinks . Only downfall is we couldn't find the toilets those know they're there somewhere!!
K. C.
Lovely friendly park, lots of things for children at all ages to do, ie, ride scooters, bikes, play football go on slider, swings and climbing frames. Can pop into Aldi's next to the park and buy snacks, ice cream, lollies and drinks etc to take into the park. lots of bins to put rubbish in.
P. W.
My local park and it is our best kept secret in St George that, coupled with hosting Redfest it is one of the most beautifully kept parks in Bristol. A great cafe as well.
P. S.
Great for kids, plenty of space to play outdoor activities.....also has area for skateboarding, tennis courts, table tennis area...... ( you
will need to bring your own pads...., a public toilet, ice cream van for refreshments although he is a bit expensive.......
G. C.
A lovely place for a walk with the family.
M. M.
I am so lucky to have moved to this area, and this park was a massive reason why I chose it. I know it's going to be busy, but I am looking forward to what summer is going to be like here 😊
K. G.
Walking through this morning, ( 7.15 ) was absolutely lovely, sun shinning, mist rising ducks quacking all in all a lovely moment
J. M.
Quirky fairly natural playground area, great skate/scooter park popular with kids of all ages, pond with ducks and small coffee place. A bit rough round the edges but has everything you need in a park.
A. S.
Nice open green area in the city with a cafe in the middle, skateboard park on one side , tennis on another and a lake you can partially walk around. Paths can get very wet, so be prepared to go on wet muddy grass in wet weather.
g. l.
Great playground, a duck lake and ace coffee shop...also it has a huge skate park.
i. w.
Simple tidy park in Bristol. Perhaps a little scruffy around the edges with weeds etc. I'm sure the council could do a better job.
k.
Lovely and big its a nice big park to have picnics and for children to play definitely recommend
M. T.
Lovely park for the kids. Only downside was a man taking a dump next to the locked toilets...........can't have everything I suppose.
S. A.
Enjoyed park with two young children. Large green spaces and a big play ground. Lots of parts to explore, including duck pond. Unfortunately duck pond walkway in poor condition and cannot walk all around. Still, loads of ducks to see.
C. T.
Lovely park, spent the afternoon here. Good facilities for the kids. Son enjoyed the skate park and my friend daughter enjoyed the park. Only downside was rubbish floating around the lake. Can't wait to come again!! 😊😊
A. B.
Excellent space to every day relax
I. M.
lovely space , place to buy coffee , playground, skate park, huge pond with an island with plenty of wildlife and great place to walk around as well
M. W.
Really beautiful park, I stayed near this area for a week on a trip to Bristol -- and I walked through this park every day. Gorgeous, stunning nature.
L. M.
Got everything you need in a park, wide spaces, play areas, cafe, duck feeding, lovely!
G. C.
Lovely park a lot of work in and around the lake for the next 6 months
A. W.
Good sized park with room for plenty even on the hottest of days.
Not a scenic as some of the other Bristol parks however includes a skate park, play park, tennis courts, a basketball court and plenty of green space to do what you want.
K. R.
Great family Park with bike/skateboard Park, good play area and lake.
B. D.
What can I say, it's a big park in St, George with a big pond and a good place to sit in summer in fact it's a good place to rest in any weather. It has a skateboard park but you could probably ride bmx on it. Then you have a few tennis courts and a bowling green and car parking. It's a really nice place.
S. M.
Nice park and plenty to do for young children, with ice-cream an coffee available.
K. B.
Great park. A perfect lake for sailing boats on. Really good skate park and basketball court. Lots of play equipment and often an ice-cream van there.
E. S.
Brilliant place to be wid kids very good & secure environment 👍👍
K. P.
Beautiful green space for everyone to sit, run, play, enjoy the sunshine & walk dogs. It was lovely except I needed the toilet and none I was told as closed and temporary ones in the summer, taken away (29th September 2018).
J. -. J. R.
It is an amazing place for kids of all ages, the pond is not as nice as it could be, but that is mainly due to the large numbers of pigeons and gulls
M. J.
One of the best parks in Bristol. Massive shame with the ongoing antisocial behaviour, some of which is very violent. Great pond and skate park. Good to see parts of the park left to nature and the public veg garden. P.S. Don't feed the ducks bread, there's a pet shop on Church road that sells more suitable feed. And discard of your own rubbish please.
A. O.
Great time, nice benches, good to spend some time here. Running, walking, dog walking or hanging out with partner and holding hands at romantic nights.
P. S.
Lovely park with lake. Sadly local council don't now make any effort to maintain the site which is left to local "friends". Some occasional anti social behaviour. Understand council are planning to close the park toilets.
C. H.
Lovely to walk in such beautiful grounds and wildlife. Has a heron living on the old boating lake island
D. R.
Finally replaced the kids slide in the park which has been broken for a long time!! Aside from that its got a good skate park and plenty of space. They hold events in the park such as Redfest which are hugely popular family events
F.
Beautifully designed. Everything that a park should have including trees with Camo gear #londonplane
N. O. O.
Great place for long walks or strolls on a cool day. Nice play area for children and cycling. Comfortable seats to relax and be inspired by the trees and buzz of humans. Great place for a photo shoot.
D. S.
Really good for family days out. Just a shame the coffee shop wasn't open
T. J.
Great park, good vibes, decent tennis courts and family-friendly skate park, suitable for all ages. Only negative is that toilets are closed due to 'anti-social behaviour'
D. J.
This is a lovely park. Big pond that used to have boats in it when I was young. Seventies and eighties. Long paths around the pond and two avenues through the trees. Lots of open grounds for dog walking. Has a tennis court, bowling green and a skate park. Very close to St George main road (church rd) that has lots of shops. Several pubs. Coffee house. A giutar shop and cafes. Nice place and area good.
T. M.
I'm very happy to enjoy there
H. H.
Lovely memories of when the kids were little.
S. j.
It OK but got home less people in they most of the time drinking and car park needs sorting out because they have built home's in it and not marked out
R. R.
Great family park. There is a pond, babies and children play areas and even a skate park. There is also a real community and it's a bit off center of bristol so less expensive than in the hustle and bustle of the city
F. C.
a good place to spend time. Lake and amazing view. People spent time with family and friends. Historical place. There are boards to learn about history of the place.
Spend good time.
t.
Stunning park with places for children to play and skate. Also great for picnics and dog walks!!
R. E.
St George Park has a skate park, a bowling green, a play area and a communal garden. There is a large pond in the centre with an island for water birds such as ducks, lapwings. Also there are a few nice circuits around the park. It tends to be higher up around the north and east edges.
J. B.
Great park with load's of area's, big scateboard park, large pond, basketball, kids play park, table tennis tables.
Will have your kids entertained for ages here.
A. C.
Lovely park, great pond and good for a spot of a tennis
D. S.
Gorgeous park. Beautiful bird pond and a great playground for kids. Lots of space for picnics and enjoying the tranquility of this lovely park
S. M.
I used to visit here with my uncle&cousins back in the late 70's. Then in the 90's bought my own children who always loved the play area & often took their cycles for a ride around the park when they got older. I don't live in the area anymore, but I lived for 27 years with my family in Redfield. Visited recently whilst passing through with my dog. Surprised not to be able to find a toilet, what with the old ones closing down. Are there any loos? If there isn't, that would be madness! There really should be some.....Please place some loos in this lovely park! 🚽
F. R.
Unfortunately mixed feelings as I can remember the time when the lake had boats. It was a well tendered place.
Environmental, austerity and neglect are all contributing factors to its current condition, a true reflection of a city in a country on a downward slide. That said it was a lovely day and hopefully the current residents will get a grip and reverse it's decline before the private development boys buy it at auction.
R. e. c.
Very relaxed and friendly feel. Plenty to do with a family. Good skate board park and cafe. My favourite is the lake.
J. T.
Great place for everyone, get out there and enjoy it.
P. L.
One of the best kept secrets in Bristol. Large skate area, great play area and plenty of quieter areas for relaxing in.
O. S.
Excellent park, even has toilets. Duck pond...climbing stuff. Redfest us ace here too. Clean and filled with friendly Bristolians
F.
Great park, very big, lots of flat-ish-land, so good for static practices like yoga, Tai Chi, Qigong, juggling, poi etc. There is a pond and a park and a skatepark. And many trees. I like trees. Could be more trees though. 🌳🌲🌴
J. B.
Great park with some good memories.
S. W.
Yummy ice creams, places to picnic and run around. Don't let your ball roll into the pond
g. h.
Nice park well looked after. Children's play area for the little one's, all so a sate park for all ages. Only problem is that there's no toilets.
P. L. (.
Very lovely family friendly park. It also has a large pond /lake and a coffee shop onsite that serves refreshments and small snacks. It is also very close to local shopping facilities i.e. Tesco, Aldi etc
D. H.
Lovely park, great for a picnic during the summer months. Tennis courts are run by Bristol tennis and a years worth of courts can be had for £35.
S. L.
Nice big park for children to play and a decent size skate park, also has a basket ball area plenty of space to kick a ball around with a fairly large group of people and a good dog walking spot too, in the day/evening it is worth the visit but can have large groups of young adults as the evening goes on and has had its fair share of problems as there is no lighting system so gets very dark at night.
k. w.
Amazing park for everyone! Much to do. Plenty of space to not be over crowded.
F. A.
Beautiful park a bit overcrowded even in covid wouldn't advise using the play area as it is covered with kids etc
J. S.
Great park. Huge space with general park, a dog free section, duck pond, skate/scoot park, basketball court. Always friendly and clean. Lots of parking in car park and on surrounding roads.
E.
Nice park, especially if you've got kids.
P. A.
Great sized park, lovely playground with a very satisfying slide. Large skatepark with 3 reconnected circular bowls.
M. k.
I come here quite often and I love it. It's a great to just have a quiet rest with a children's play park and a pond. It also includes a skate park.
P. A.
Lovely jubbly great time at the park get there early to avoid traffic in the skateboard 🛹 park 😀 👍
C. P.
This is only my second time visiting. It's a very nice park with a fair bit for the kids to enjoy & look at.
J. D.
Really great park. One of only a few with duckpond in Bristol.
D. P.
Great park, love going here in the morning on a sunny day walking our dog. Nice size lots of trees and different sections to it.
D. N.
Lots of young chicks on the lake, the Little Grebs are particularly cute and to see a Song thrush is something of a rare threat these days
C. M.
Nice large park with pleasant walks.
Lake needs water fountains on to stop algae and clear the water.
M. T.
Large park who's Victorian roots are still present yet it's been kept up to date with a skateboard park and playgrounds. Great to see all ages getting something from the open space.
D. P.
Amazing parks great mix of people from all walks of life
J. M.
Great park. Skate park for all ages, cafe open on Sundays, good playground that's a bit different to the regular, and a large pond with ducks.
W. L.
Inner city park warts and all .Wild areas lots of respectful dog owners . skate park looks cool .wish the council would spend a bit more money on it but understand .
A. J.
Nice little cafe and good for lots of walks. Good ply area for little kids.
C. M.
Love this park, has a children's park for the little ones and a huge skate park for the older kids. Disappointing: The coffee shop had closed down and there are no toilets.
K. B.
This is an okay PokémonGo nest, it has a few spawn points, but they are quite spread out. The spawns are all over the park, but there are always a few spawns by the skate park, you'll probably catch about half of the spawns if you just stick to getting any coming up on the nearby, otherwise you have to keep walking around the park to get more spawns.
S. S.
A great park catering for all. It's has something for everyone. A lake , playground , cafe and skateboard park and plenty of open green space.
C. W.
Nice coffee booth. Lovely place to walk & skate park great for kids.

D. C.
Lovely park.infants and junior plus skate park and tennis courts and bowling green.plus nice walk or picnic round lake.car park not very big.suggest back road next turning down
A. D.
St Georges is a great park that has so much more potential. The play area is adequate but could do with a little more modernisation and investment as there is plenty of space for more play equipment, or even a splash pool as at other parks.
The Skatepark is fabulous but in a state of poor repair. Unfortunately some parents see the skatepark as an extension of the play area and allow their children to run and climb on the ramps and jumps causing no end of accidents and frustration amongst its designated users.
Good, but could be so much better.
L. H.
St.George park, north of Redfields, south of Kingswood is a well-kept secret paradise in Bristol. The hilly park resembles a hamlet, and is home to a large pond, where there are fish, an island for the ducks and swans and two water-fountains the sound from which creates a zen-like atmosphere.
A wild flower meadow returns every year to make visitors smile. Mature trees lines the parks paths that constantly playing host to a flurry of happy park-goers enjoying their slice of park-life.
Keep yourselves entertained by the skate park, tennis courts, a bowling green and basket ball court. A running route circles the park too.
One of my favourite parks in Bristol.
C. C.
Beautiful park with something for everyone.
d. c.
lots of space for dogs and kids to play.also swings etc and skate area.large pond and can feed the ducks .also a cafe and free car park

Great for families, great skate park, not to mention the lake and acres of well kept trees lawns and paths, excellent example open space.
A. J.
Good park, kids area, basketball court, skate park and a lake with ducks, lots of trees and benches and sometimes bigger events like redfest. Just avoid it like any other park at night, especially if alone
H. B.
Love this park, dog friendly, great play area for children plus a skate park too. Even has a cute little cafe.
R. R.
Beautiful park. Great space with lots of different uses/purposes.
A. K.
I love it. Lots of space for long walks. Picnics. Skate park. Children playground. Great space for local community.

Good atmosphere, nice location and lots of things to do. The teens around the park are a bit rowdy, but stay away from those and you'll be fine.

J. M.
Park that appears to have a lot of facilities, skate park, tennis courts etc. Probably a little too small for a serious run without laps. Looked very family friendly.
S. w. C.
Something for kids of all ages- playground, skatepark and a duck pond. Lush park 😊 would been 5 stars but the council have closed the cafe 😢
C. W.

Lovely park, pity the coffee hut was shut as the park was socially distant full.
S. B.
It's a great park for dog walking, has a nice pond, and a skate park for kids. Lots of beautiful trees.

We visited the park with the grandchildren but had to leave much earlier than planned due to the fact that there are no toilets which is quite ridiculous given the amount of children that use it.
