Reviews of Cathedral green
B. E.
Slightly strange area of Derby, it's really close to the city centre yet feels quite separate from it. It's had a significant amount of investment in recent years and actually looks pretty decent.
The 'green' area is quite nice and there's often people just soaking up the sun during the summer. The new Museum of Making is also located here as is a Premier Inn.
The green also forms part of a cycle network that runs right across the city following the river.
Historically it's nationally important as the Museum of Making is arguably the world's first purpose built factory and the Premier Inn sits on what was Exeter House, the location of Bonnie Prince Charlie's council of war that basically ended his campaign for the crown.
Overall a nice area especially during the summer.

Great place to spend time in the sunshine especially when there's an event on like the Furthest from the Sea Festival!

When the weather is nice it's a good place to sit and eat your lunch. Just watch out for the skateboarders

It's a beauty in its own. You can see the leaves changing colour which makes a perfect background for your autumn pics

Award winning museum of making sited here. Derby Cathedral nearby (1530 tomb of Bess of Hardwick). Ye Olde Dolphin inne (1580 oldest pub in Derby ) seconds away. Often features various events, Derby feste, charity promo stalls, political hustings etc. Popular with skateboarders. National cycle route 66 dissects site.

Cathedral Green is a nice place in the downtown Derby, with a view on Derwent River, in a natural environment. Derby is one impressive green city and Cathedral Green is a key point on extremely long cycling routes and walks, from the very north of the old town to the very south, until far outside the modern city. Also, Cathedral Green is connected with the most important historical buildings and places in Derby, from the Silk factory, today an Unesco monument, to the old city cathedral, also a catolic church, and the place where jacobits lost the last hope to restore the Stuart dynasty, in the beginning of 18th century.

Ramps avaliable but I removed a star as grass isn't always the easiest to access in a wheelchair. Area is clean and tidy.

Cathedral Green is a lively part of the City all year round as it changes its use for an array of events throughout the year including Exeter Cathedral Christmas Market, Exeter Craft Fair, exhibitions, and charity events as well as a popular lunch spot for tourists, students and business people. The large footfall and central location make it a popular choice of venue for charity and promotional events.

Good bit of grass, grass could be grassier but overall 4/5 grass rating.
