Reviews of Darley Park
B. E.
Impressively large and well kept public park with easy access from Derby city centre.
Lots of wide open green spaces, the river Derwent running through it and surrounded by trees, including some amazing specimen trees.
The walled herbaceous boarder garden is nice and peaceful with bees and butterflies happily going about their business. To the rear of the herbaceous garden is the walled hydrangea garden which is part of the national collection and is hugely impressive with each variety named.
There's a cafe selling hot/cold drinks, hot/cold food and ice cream with a toilet around the corner (the café is cash only), there's also a small children's playground too.
This has become our go to place for a gentle walk or bike ride or just to escape the endless concrete of Derby city centre.
T. K.
It's a blessing 🙏🏽 to live near such a beautiful park with so much life 💛
A.
The park itself has large green open spaces, there are different routes to either walk/run/bikeride following the river from here. On the whole as everyone goes there 4 the same reason there's no litter - often pass volunteers doing their bit. On a nice day you can easily lose the day clocking up miles, vibing with the beats on.
E. C.
It's one of the best places where you can clean your mind. don't forget clean after yourself if you are with a dog or without it ;)))
W.
It is one of famous park in Derby. Spacious, pubs, walking, riding bikes and playing games.
H. R.
Always a lovely park, not much equipment for kids, but masses of outdoor space and some beautiful, long walks by the river. Very popular with dog walkers. Didn't go as far as the café, but hopefully they're open inside again now. Toilets could so with a makeover.
E. W.
Wide open spaces and fresh air. A beautiful area to play, rest or walk. Outdoor cafe and toilet facilities available. Freefree and happy times to be had. Go and enjoy!
S. L.
Wonderful place to spend a summers day with your family
A.
Beautiful park🌳, loved the atmosphere here it’s very ✌️peaceful.
O. O.
Fell in love with the serenity. Great place to relax.
N. G.
Nice park for a short walk or a picnic. There is a lojg walk you can do that goes over the river.
Decent little café where you can get some food and drink.
The highlight for me though, is the Hydrangea garden. If you go during the summer, when they're all in bloom, it's really something to behold, with every Hydrangea species you can imagine, a nice hidden gen tbh.
T. C.
Lovely park, beautiful hydrangeas, free parking, the only problem was that the café only accepts cash
P. B.
Beautiful park so large you can walk in peace lovely trees , river wild flowers. Dogs paradise
C. C.
Beautiful circular walk on tarmac path around Darley Park, crossing the River Derwent via the bridge near the Rowing Club,
and walking back over the toll bridge at DarleyAbbey Mills via Chester Green Park, and having a hot chocolate at Darley Park cafe.
C. N.
We have resently discovered Darley abbey park what a lovely large family park ,also found a cafe bar The shed just over the bridge and had a fantastic hot chocolate and amazing salted caramel slice ,the whole area was great
a. c.
Pleasant riverside park walk. It's being renovated so paths aren't all open but easy enough to navigate. Pretty walled gardens too and quirky cafe
J.
I thought it was worth a visit as its the largest Hydrangea collection in europe and 3rd in the world apparently , anyway it was nice to see so many different types of hydrangeas the rest of the patk was also very nice with pleasant walks
S. M.
Beautiful park ,free parking, lovely to walk around.choice of coffee /tea stops
A. M.
Walked through here while following the River Derwent. Lovely big park, wide open spaces, some play areas for children, lots of room for picnics and family fun and games
V. R.
One of the best parks in Derby. Very clean and peaceful environment. Great place to go for a walk/run or just to have a seat by the river.
E. P.
This park is absolutely humongous and has stunning scenery. Plenty of trees and areas to sit down in the shade. The only downside is the lack of somewhere to purchase ice-cream or water. Luckily I had been for a picnic so already had plenty of water.
N. A.
The most beautiful park in Derby (Allestree residents might disagree). Huge area of parkland together with adjacent parks. Varied topography and bio-communities. Masses of history and the River Derwent
L. O.
Beautiful place to go for a walk with the dog and have some fun with the scooter!
T. W.
Lovely park & great to see the Hydrangea collection which featured on Gardeberd World. Cafe a bit disappointing as they have removed all the outside tables -not sure why as outside is good for pandemic times
P. K.
Delightful area, lovely tea room, and children enjoyed the play areas.
K. M.
Lovely place to take a stroll. Cafe good too
L. M.
Clean and full of nature. Beautiful to walk round as a couple, with a pup or as a family. I'd say wheelchair friendly in most areas. Took about an hour and half to do the full loop. Great spot if you visit derby
A. S.
Lovely park, plenty of spaces for dog walking, children with 'wheels' good amenities, loved the hydrangea collection
D. M.
Great park in Derby with a nice cricket ground at the top end

A delightful easy walk, lots of space, even on a busy day it was easy to walk socially distantly
R. B.
The park is so big an wonderful you forget your so close to town.
M. H.
Great for a walk or run. Somewhere to stop for a coffee and snack and plenty of space for dogs.
J. L.
A lovely Park by the river Derwent. Lots of space with a cafe bar. Dog friendly with a park for the children and lots of nice walks and wildlife. Saw a very unusual pretty duck 🦆
H. K.
Better than Markeaton Park if you're looking for an escape to nature in Derby
J.
Massive green space. Dog walking, cycling, fishing, play park, and loads of parking on all sides of the park
S. O.
I love Darley Park. I live close by but still visit the park on a majority of days. I love to spend time watching and listening to the wildlife and being in the natural unspoilt environment. Generally the other visitors are very friendly. I'm so glad the cafe is back open too. Beautiful place to visit for a stroll, dog walking, picnic or to be simply be at peace in nature
G. W.
Gorgeous grounds, fantastic location , lovely walk by the river , dogs love to have a dip .
P. P.
A lovely Park for a stroll. Photos are of the hydrangea gardens. Nice little cafe too, to visit for a drink & food.
K. N.
This is a great place for a free day out with the children, to take someone in a wheelchair for a walk, to walk the dog or just for a place to escape on your own.
There's a car park adjacent to the park. There's plenty of places to have a picnic on the grass or just to sit on a bench. There's also a garden to stroll around and the National Hydrangia Collection - who knew that there are so many different Hydrangeas?
Darley Abbey Park is definitely worth a visit.
P. r.
Great for a walk and socially distanced drink at the moment.
m. f.
Lovely park well looked after nice new path along the river. Walled garden was lovely.
H. S.
Lots of mature trees, mix of woodland, own spaces, river paths. Great for sledging in snow, national hydrangeas collection, cafe.
H. H.
Beautiful park alongside the River Derwent. Plenty of room for dogs to run, picnics, kids to play. Areas full of wild garlic in spring.
j. h.

s. k. c.
Nice open space. Good for jogging n exercise. Good place to hangout with children n pets. Well maintained.
B. d.
Love this park. Beautiful grounds and perfect for picnics or walks by the river. Small play area for kids but that's good as it means it isn't as busy as some of the other parks in Derby
C. M. (.
Situated in the heart of Derby City, Darley Park is a big recreational park, divided b the River Derwent. On the East Side are the football pitches and the recreational tennis basketball courts. On the West Side, is the rowing club and the Darley Park Tearoom and the largest collection of Hydrangeas in the Nation. You can also find Darley, a Michelin Star restaurant. There are plenty of things to do in the park and is a perfect place to spend time with your family and friends and you can often find many friendly dog walkers and runners. I would definitely recommend everyone visit this place.
g. j.
A beautiful massive peaceful park .
R. R.
Lovely park by the river
R. P.
Great place for a picturesque walk
A. M.

D. T.
Lovely peaceful place to visit and take a.walk
V. N.
Beautiful park all year around, great for families! 😉
M. E.
Beautiful, one of my favourite places to walk, it has river, it has gardens, it has woodlands, it has feilds, lovely people, beautiful dogs... Relaxed walks every time
D. R.
Great park amazing for children. We go here every time it's hot. Only issue is if you have children here on a hot day theres always at least one woman laying either naked or inappropriately dressed and see a lot of people leave because of this.
C. G.
Love it, dogs love it, avoid busy times or walk against everyone. Could do with an additional take out place located at the other end of the park to the existing one
L. J.
Beautiful park huge open space for your dogs to really enjoy themselves coffee shops open too which I didn't expect given the current circumstances and time of year. It is however extremely boggy I thought this park would have drained better at the top of the incline but it hasn't so be prepared to get absolutely ditched
B. A.
Absolutely gorgeous place, very spacious even when its on a busy sunny Saturday. Enjoyable for all ages x
A.
Lovely place but would only reccomend going in spring or summer so many places to go site seeing, things to do highly reccomend.
T. M.
Darley Park is a lovely public park area north of Derby Centre, along the Derwent river walk (you can in fact walk for miles and miles, up to Matlock). A great place to undwind. No cafés, but nice pubs on the opposing ends (Derby: The Furnace Inn; Darley: The Abbey Inn) of the park. Especially beautiful in autumn.
D. G.
Beautiful open space
J. G.
Had a lovely circular walk from Darley fields to Darley park. walk ways very good. accessibility for wheelchairs very good. enjoyed a cup of tea halfway at the cafe on the park.
H. D.
Lovely location and nice to see a free carpet. 1st cricket match of the summer added to the atmosphere. Only 4* because not much of interest in the herbaceous garden and signs for the butterfly garden disappeared.
P. F.
Beautiful park. Peaceful river walks, well tended lawns and gardens, lovely views along the river. Great for picnics!
J. B.
Peaceful place nice gardens to sit in also cafe toilets and a play area for children
D. B.
Beautiful place to wonder around and contemplate life
L. L.
Love it here, beautiful large park, well maintained, good for walking the dogs, somewhere to take the children or meet up with friends. A haven for nature close to the city centre.
L. S.
Always a good place to visit. Nice walks. Good views over the City of Derby.
S. J.
Went for a run at Darley park today and even though it was a gloomy day it was still a beautiful park
S.
Lovely park with small play area. Gardens and hydrangea area needs a bit of T L C .
Problem is that although the park is open till late and the cafe open till about 5pm, the toilet facilities are only open until 3pm. Not very convenient for families out for a days picnic.
h. n.
A beautiful park with much improved paths & so much to do & an excellent cafe & pub nearby
C. S.
Park really pleasant. Lovely walk round. Not busy
R.
Lovely friendly place to roam around, especially if you have good knees, It's hilly. Interesting little gardens to see. Cafeteria and bar for refreshments .
J. L.
Great afternoon in a spacious, stunning park BUT there were no toilet facilities available on the Saturday that we were there which was disappointing! The park was busy so there were people crouching in bushes everywhere!
A. N.
Nice walk around the park. Different routes to try. Plenty of places for something to eat or drink.
D. R.
Nice green area with free parking
P. R.
Lovely place for a socially distanced walk and drink
C. D.
A well kept park, which is a pleasure to be on.
L.
Very lovely scenery , river has beautiful clear water you can see the fish, people jogging, walking their dogs ,having picnics, people and children paddling and swimming everyone having a good time , plus park has lots of history . And you can have a pint at the pub 😊
M. &. E. W.
A beautiful park next to a beautiful river
B. C.
Beautifully kept gardens and great to walk, run and cycle all beside the River Derwent
4. 5.
It's a nice park, but given the lockdown it's a very popular almost over crowded place to be. The paths can be a little muddy and it's a dog walkers paradise. The park is quite small and this creates a bottle neck. It's not the safest of outdoor parks where vivid is concerned. Also the queue for the coffee shop although outdoors are not great for social distancing
C. E.
Open space, perfect for a dog walk! The little tea room is nice too, with a relatively large selection at reasonable prices!
Worth a visit if you want a day out
J. P.
Beautiful. I like the fairly new boardwalk. A walk up one bank of the river and back down the other is great. Using the Handyside Railway Bridge and the Evans Mill bridge
M. W.
Beautiful now all the leaves are coming back,,very peaceful
T. L.
In my opinion this is Derbys nicest park. Wide open spaces, different elevations and river running through the middle.
Very popular and is often very busy which can make keeping to the path difficult at times during CV19 when trying to social distance.
A great location, close to the city centre and to be enjoyed all year round!
M. H.
Lovely open park - linked to the Mill area - great place to spend a peaceful few hours wandering around
E. R.
My favourite park in Derby, just a great place to chill.
J. W.
I really like this park so many nice walks and even in these uncertain times a walk round the water then across the bridge for a takeaway coffee or just a sit down on the grass beautiful 👍👍
M.
Absolutely beautiful
T. F.
Great park for exercising dogs and kids! Lovely walks, with great accessibility for wheeled users. The mill complex has a great atmosphere with bars/cafe next to the river with festoon fairy lights. Dogs welcomed to the cafe/bar.
C. B.
Really lovely park, very dog friendly. Lots of dogs! Good little play area for little ones.
D. W.
Lovely walk along the river on a flat board walk/purpose built path (watch out for cyclists though),over the bridge and back along the river to the beautiful village of Darley
L. O. (. J.
Lovely park. Worth a visit whatever the season. Has been much improved in recent times. Lovely walks and a real nice little cafe where you can get a drink and a bite to eat if you feel in need of refreshment. Has been a godsend during lockdown. Was able to walk and enjoy a coffee and a chat with others in the area around the cafe all socially distanced of course!
R. L.
Peaceful and tranquil. Very well looked after.
M. T.
A great place to take a walk along the river. It's now possible to walk a full circle now the new path has been laid. The walk can start from the Abbey pubs car park, follow the trail to the old railway bridge and come back down the opposite riverbank, over Darley bridge and back round to the car park again. All in all about 45-50 minutes and around two miles.
A. H.
Lovely place. Did a concert here as a steward and it's an amazing place to visit.
J. P.
Its a family park which is nice and you see lots of different types of animals and birds 🐦 would recommend to everyone the walk around Darley Park is beautiful
T. B.
Beautiful park
P. H.
Nice to see the hydrangeas.
L. M.
Looking beautiful with the trees changing colour. A really good path had been built all around the park, slightly raised in parts and not a muddy puddle in sight. Pushing a pram in the park became a pleasure and not a fight through mud.
J. P.
Absolutely one of the best Parks around Derby - only a small children's play area but plenty of space to run around, toilet facilities and plenty of places for coffee. One of my most favourite walks
J. R.
Nice place to stroll, walk dog or chill
T. B.
Great for walking. Nice to see it so busy
J. R.
Enjoyable walk in this nearby park. Too wet to walk over the grass but paths are tidy and well kept. Tea room kiosk still open for drinks etc. Cash only last time I was there.
t. H.
Beautiful park! Great for taking a push chair.. even when it's wet and muddy as there are paths! My kids love it! Also great for sledging
C. P.
Lovely park, big old trees, cafe.
Some steepish slopes.
S. M.
This used to be a stunning park. Still lovely, but obviously not the amount of staff any more to keep the gardens in peak condition! We went to look at the national collection of hydrangeas. Good for walking and cycling.
H. G.
A beautiful park. A bit boggy after all the rain. Plenty of bins about.
Dog loved being able run around chasing balls.
Lots of dogs around off lead so bare in mind you might get jumped on.
G. t.
Great 4 the kids and adults cause there's a few watering holes 4 a cheeky pint if it takes ur fancy.....
L. E.
Beautiful park, lots of flowers and open spaces too.
J. S.
I was minding my own buissness one summers evening wandering the great lands of Darley abbey when it happend... a great behemoth of a whale erupted from the dephs below threatening to swallow my self and several onlookers whole , long story short this is how i got my name as the darley abbey fish strangler.
O. R.
What a beautiful park, well looked after and with some great little wildlife 'reserves'. A haven.
A. A.
Great relaxing place, good dog walks
E.
This park is beautiful, surrounded by trees and lovely lush green grass. There is ample of outdoor space to allow people to roam free in the peace of their own and others company. The green land is extremely well maintained, as well as the path that allows you to complete a circular walk. There are many areas that provide shade so that you can enjoy a picnic in peace.
There are lots of dogs at this park, which isn't bad if you don't mind them, but if you do it may not be the place for you!
The park cafe is quaint and old fashioned which is what a park cafe should be like. The prices are also quite reasonable. The public toilets appear to be well maintained but could be better.
The children's play area is nice and well maintained also.
My only recommendation would be to increase the number of available bins, maybe ones for recyclable waste. And to empty the existing dog mess bins more frequently.
R. W.
What can I say about the park, it has everything you would want there for a morning or afternoon out.
Cafe also at the park, parking and easy walking from Derby.
Do not Miss out on this park, you will enjoy the views and river walk.
Soon they are talking about having a river cruise from the Council house steps to the park itself.
This will give people a river cruise and east reach to the park.
C. C.
Lovely place but please sort toilets out
A. K.
Always like to have a nice walkie at the park
S. T.
I live opposite the park so it's an easy walk with the dog. Wide open, green, riverside walk and a seasonal cafe. A dog walkers delight. Other folks also very welcome if well behaved and kept on a lead at all times!
Enjoy
K. S.
We like it here nice walk or bike ride we would recommend here to all ages and its close to derby Town centre so it has a added bonus
J. B. C.
Great place! Clean and Green!
J. B.
Lovely park, well maintained and beautiful scenery
H.
Nice place to have a walk around. Lots of open space for dogs to run around.
l. b.
Concert in the park was just amazing
G. B.
Nice please 🌈❤👌👍
L. B.
Fantastic large park next to the river derwent. Great in the summer with family or friends with s picnic and the dog's. The park also has a cafe which is amazing. It has different walks either over and round the river or stay on one side.
S. D.
Beautiful clean park......was a very enjoyable walk even on a cold day.
J. M.
Lovely meeting point after walking around the park. Always greeted by friendly staff. Just the ticket.
D. A.
beautiful park for relaxing and playing!
S. O. T.
Best park in derby, even though im 3 miles away from it i still walk here a few times a week. Amazing for the family
C. H.
Absolutely wonderful to walk and cycle
A. R.
Beautiful park. Nice and serene place to visit during times like this.
J. G.
Darley Park is a lovely place for a stroll in the evening, you can walk through wooded areas or out on the huge grassed area that leads down to the river. There are two formal gardens at the top of the park and there is a designated sport area near to the village where you can sometimes catch a game of cricket. At the village end there is a quaint little pub and if you go past this you can view the weir from another small formal garden that over looks it
T. P.
This is an extremely nice place do just go on a walk with either friends or family, I totally recommend it! 4 stars though because it can be quite long of a walk sometimes but oh well, its worth it for the scenery to be honest
M. O.
Very busy considering covid. The path ways can be quite muddy however they're big enough for sets of people to pass by on. Great walk around perfect for dog walkers or people with children in push chairs.
D. M.
Unfortunately with the bridge shut have to do a interrupted circular walk.
K. A.
Great Park for running its nice and clean with plenty of wildlife.
J. R.
Lovely place to walk your dog or go for a family picnic. Quite often have tuns here too. In september the Darley Park concert is here which is always a fantastic event and worth going to. It is classical music and fireworks with plenty of fun for little ones too.
M. M.
Great place for family, dog walking etc. Good to spend a day or an hour, plenty to see and do complete with cafe and toilet facilities at both ends of the park.
P. ?.
Free parking lots of space to enjoy. Walking is nice here. We walked pass the old mill yesterday. Nice kids play area & cafe too. We parked Chester green side as it's a bigger car park, although work is being carried out here.
D. D.
At most times of the day a very nice place to visit
M. K.
Fantastic atmosphere, music and fireworks
J. M.
Beautiful place and such a vast area.
D. b. w.
beautiful long walks and River Derwent walks
D. b.
nice wide open green space.. good for a picnic or just a nice day in nature. not too busy but beautiful scenery to truly centre yourself
D. S. R.
Its very nice place you can easily nosing around people.
K. F.
What a lovely, clean, spacious park, with glorious views too. Even on a bank holiday Monday, it felt like there was plenty of room to move freely, benches to sit and enjoy the scenery...and a beautiful chaffinch singing its little heart out. This put our local parks (in Hertfordshire) to shame, especially its cleanliness!
K. J.
Beautiful park, lots of space to walk dogs and a nice area for the kids to play
F. S.
Lovely parkland with walks and plenty of space to picnic, play or just relax. Pity the cafe is not up to much and that the signage, benches etc. are in dire need of some TLC.
M.
Great place for walking the dog, casual stroll, picnic, fun with the kids and room to play sports.
C. M.
Lovely place with beautiful scenery. Great for families young and old and various classes for parents of babies and toddlers on weekdays. Café staff are very friendly and there are always plenty of highchairs. Paths are a bit rough in places but there are plans to improve them for wheelchairs etc.
L. R.
Lovely place to go. Lots of lovely people and pretty well looked after.
t.
Fantastuc, good fir the kids although 1 of mine got lost and we left tbrm there so 10 10 recomend to get rid of kids 🤩
m. L.
Great place to unwind cafeteria definitely worth a visit
L. G.
Love Darley especially now most of the walk is good footpaths
N. M. B.
A great amphitheater for outdoor concerts, plenty of room for trade stands and food stalls. Easy to get to and only a short walk from bus stops. Only downside is it gets a bit muddy in bad weather.
f. m.
The hydrangea gardens were just wonderful. We would have liked to have been able to buy some of the plants. The tea hut served really good tea and coffee.
C. G.
Decent, nice walk and hot food and drinks to go
J. J.
Derby is greedy for beautiful open spaces and as all of them; Darley Park delivers an experience that is the envy of many a comparable City. Pedestrian and cycle friendly it meanders along the beautiful river Derwent terminating at the waterfall complex that is a climactic visual finale of a really pleasant experience.
S. N.
Lovely small park, I usually give there for a walk or jog
S. T.
Beautiful place to take the kids
J. S.
Lovely park, could have done with signage though, as a total stranger took me ages to find the car park.
F. S.
Absolutely stunning, first time I've ever been here and the setting, the building inside and out were beautiful, loved the feel they kept to the inside of the mill still very true to its roots, I attended a wedding here, it was perfect for it.
There are quite alot of stairs but thankfully they have put a lift in although once we were seated for dinner that was upstairs and the only toilets were on the ground floor but I think this can be easily forgiven as the restoration of the building is so nice and when I went to the bathroom there were more than enough toilets.
There seemed to be more than enough parking and lots of outside space but unfortunately the weather wasn't on our side but I imagine it to be even more stunning on a warm summers evening.
A. E.
Beautiful Park in the centre of Derby City contains a cricket ground, rowing club, and a hidden Gem in the Ancient Darley Abby pub.
J. J.
Nice places to eat, bars and Bistro type places. Nice setting by the river with historical cotton industry buildings.
K. A.
Always a beautiful place to walk and take in the scenery. Brings back lots of wonderful memories of walking there with my Nana when I was young.
P. H.
Lovely park, very well kept with free parking. Highly recommended visit.
C. F.
Beautiful park and much improved visitor experience now the river path is paved.
D. B.
We love to explore all over this park.
D. V.
Good place for family in summer time :)
c.
Superior to markeeton Park, in that it's much quieter without the crowds.
A.
Such a beautiful place for a walk or picnic, near the center of Derby. The cafe is also very good with beautiful views from outside. There is always something to see, from wildlife to kayaks on the river.
N. H. b.
Beautiful park, perfect for dog walking and there's a nice little cafe here too ☺️
D. P.
Good walk and nice cafe. Great space for picnic etc
L. S.
Nice place for a picnic with childs
K. T.
We often enjoy a walk here. The arboretum, wildlife reserve and river walk are lovely. Today we discovered the woodland walk at the top, and the hydrangea garden, which came as a complete surprise to me as a newcomer to Derby.
P. K.
Went to see the national collection of hydrangeas after it featured on Gardeners World. Excellent collection, volunteer run. A bit down at heel in places, could clearly do with more investment. Nice park though and worth a visit.
E. G.
Lovely place for a walk.
D. M.
Love this place, it's massive. Me - I always find a space by the river 🚴♀️
C. G.
Darley Park is very close to my heart, I grew up from a little girl here. Parts of it need tidying up, hydrangea garden is spectacular, cafe was fine, loved watching the rowers on the river. Loved it!
L. L.
Good place to walk my dog scenery and a place to have a drink
H. H.
Beautiful park with a great cafe, butterfly garden and fabulous walks.
J. C.
Beautiful park...highly recommend. Nice for walks.
R. P.
A lovely walk through the fallen autumn leaves
M. P.
Another fantastic morning. Lots if green, beautiful river and surprisingly few people enjoying it.
D.
Great to walk with your pets or friends and great to have a picnic or to take your kids to the play area.
P. M. B. B.
Great park for a walk... needs more 'park stuff' for kids to play on though.
G. P.
A beautiful park to visit for fitness, family time or just casual walks.
I always enjoy my visits there, but try to car share when I do as the car parks can get very busy!
H. O.
Excellent dog friendly park. Lots of space to enjoy either a short or long walk. Plenty of seats dotted around the park. Great cafe to sip a latte and enjoy a bacon buttie
M. K.
The path from upper car park toward town is a disgrace. It's inches deep in leaf mould and mud. A lady slipped on it and could have suffered a bad injury. Please clean it asap
S. T.
It's lovely at night
B. K.
Doesn't have much for kids but if you like nature and green space with hills and derwent river, its lovely
V. L.
Really nice Park, great place to take the kids to burn off some energy and great for Dog Walking
N. P.
Sun was shining... wasn't too busy! Lovely views 👌
l. b.
A regular local park. Lovely and well kept. Stopped at the Furnace on the way back
j. g.
Beautiful park, a lot of dog walkers all very friendly, the biggest downfall is the total lack of public toilets, and the public house does not allow you to use their toilet unless you buy a drink
a. f.
A wonderful facility offering lots of open space and different walk options
S. B.
Lovely walk in a lovely park
J. H.
Beautiful park and good facilities

Lovely walk for the dog near here. Ricer is a little dirty though. Gave our pooch an eye infection. Avoid letting them swim there.
D. L.
I love walking around here and most of the time everybody sticks to the social distancing rule
J. W.
I visited Darley Abbey Park and village yesterday for the very first time and although I only had a few hours I intend to return when the weather improves as I'm sure it will be even more beautiful when spring is here! It is a very quaint little place and I love the old georgian houses, the old mill and the weir that flows beside it. Going to go back soon and make a day of it and of course take plenty of photos too, so watch this space!
S. R.
Scattered my dads ashes there. He played there, as a child! Beautiful place... Very peaceful.
A. H.
Nice to have a walk around and fresh air, with some lovely nice tree's around
J. B. (.
Great for #darley19 and the evening concert

m. m.
Nice park but cafe isn't up to standard food expensive not much choice
L. P.
Beautiful park. No trash. Friendly walkers.
M. L.
My favourite Derby park. Cafe small playground. Plenty of footpaths and wide open space. Close to the city centre and Cathedral Quarter and on the edge of historic Darley Abbey with it's mill. Part of the Derwent valley world heritage site. It is beautiful in spring when the daffodils are in bloom.
S. H.
Love this park. Has a great cafe as well
K. M.
Beautiful and amazing place to spend your time with your family. Very peaceful area as well as lots of space to play and run around. I strongly recommend that you visit this park.
O. F.
Good for a walk around. Fantastic cycle and shared use path through the park.
a. p.
Such a beautiful park, with so many hidden gems and great sports to play
E. C.
A great park, second to Markeaton for extension but more authentic, older trees, windy paths around hills and an historically interesting dam. Some spots to park your car around Duffield roads and close to the Catholic Church
D. H.
Went to a concert tonight, very well organised
h. C.
Nice open space, however bins over flowing with dog poo bags and onto the floor where children had to pass, also the cafe was very poor, proper coffee machine but not used coffee from a pre filled machine, cheap and grubby.
T. M.
The most beautiful park in Derby by a long way! Way worth a visit. If you're there in winter, take a sledge! It'll be the best day of your life! Also, if The Abbey pub is open, you must visit.
v. b.
Nice cafe and a beautiful place to walk and plenty of benches to have a rest and take in the view
D. R.
Lovely walks around this park, friendly people.
We lost a key and someone had handed it in at the cafe....there are still good people in the world 😊
B. W.
Lovely open space, even better now there's a path all the way around, and bars at the Darley Abbey Mills
P. B.
Excellent park. Enjoyed my relaxed bike ride around it. It feels safe, is super green and really easy to access on a bike from Derby Station.
L. M.
Lovely large park, plenty of space for self distancing
L. H.
Great for socially distancing walks, plenty of space for everyone to enjoy

N. D.
Lovely walk on a bright autumn morning!
E. F.
fantastic place to walk your dog other owners are really friendly
K. D.
Beautiful, large green park. Popular with families and dog walkers. There is a small children's play area, lots of green space, a cafe, a wooded area and a flower garden. The river runs through the park with the rowing club at the far end. Accessible from all sides with car park at most entrances.
H. L.
Great park! Now able to walk all the way round as the paths have been improved and there us a board walk over the boggy bit. People mostly keep their dogs under control, never had any problems. Lovely cafe that serves from a hatch and table service during normal lockdown.
Good play area but better for younger kids. There is a small adventure part for the older ones but no zip line, spider climber. Beautiful hydrangea garden for late summer. Overall a lovely park, we visit often
S. H.
Beautiful piece of nature, a stones throw away from the city centre
R. M.
Brilliant place for dog walking. Loads of space and well looked after.
N. N.
Nice scenery for a walk any time of the day
J. B.
Situated between Derby City and the beautiful and historic Darley Abbey village. Ever popular yearly classical concerts with fireworks on the natural amphitheatre. Relaxed walks along the river. Blackberry picking. A fantastic hidden café that's open all year round. A favourite for dog walkers.

D. M.
Lovely park with well kept gardens
T. “. C.
Our first time to Darley Park, a lovely place to wonder around by the river Derwent. I would imagine in the spring and summer it would be beautiful.
M. W.
Probably the best park in central Derby. Really well maintained playing fields with a walled garden of Hydrangeas and a cafe with seating under pergolas. Really good circular for walking or running.
D. H.
Excellent for an afternoon walk. Large open area with large mature trees dotted here and there, ideal for the family picnic or the more energetic sports. With the river on one side and large trees on the other. There's also a number of paths that lead you through the trees and some quite areas which are great in the summer month's. Small play area and a decent cafe for those well earned refreshments.
G. C.
Good dog walking park or exercise : a walk around the perimeter and Darley fields is a good apetiser for lunch . spacious area for picnics and pleasant Cafe with outside seating. Some uncommon trees .Small soft play area for infants and another, larger, for slightly older children. Carparking off Broadway or City road or off Darley Abbey village. Well worth a visit.
M. N.
Darley Park is a well presented open space which is great for walkers, children playing and dogs. Exceptionally clean and very pretty.
J. “. B.
Yes that made it look nice but it's a pity they don't clean up the grass off the path when they do it it wasn't that very good
J. P.
What a lovely place - loads of open green space, riverside walks, children's playground, shaded woodland area and even a formal garden. We didn't use the facilities but there was a takeaway service from the tea rooms and the toilets were open. Plenty of room for social distancing and some more accessible flat areas - basically something for everyone! Thoroughly enjoyed our visit - and so did our dog!
l. k.
Nice place for jogging
P. B.
The cafe is serving ice-cream, drinks, cake and some hot food, including bacon butties, order at the hatch.
The hydrangeas are looking lovely.
W. E.
Great park with plenty of space and a play area for the kids. Great for sledging in the winter snow too
k. p.
Nice place to walk around. Hydrangea garden is beautiful. Cafe ok let down by dirty tables and not very nice tables or chairs. Menu simple and nit great choice. It could be so much better if they put some effort In the ambience of the place
C.
Lovely place. The full national collection of hydrangea is a must see. Also a lot of history if you know what your looking for.
M. B.
A lovely place to enjoy your leisure time. Lots of lovely walks, great historic scenery very relaxing and when you need refreshments etc there is a lovely friendly cafe to sit inside or out for a lovely cup of tea or coffee!

Great city Park, with Derwent Riverside, arboretum, hydrangea collection, access to Mill area with its bars (Darley Abbey), cafe, etc. Circular walk using both sides of the river.

J. T.
lovely clean well kept park well worth a visit.
K. M.
Great place of beauty and history. The Abbey pub is full of character and an atmospheric place to enjoy a drink. Darley's has long been one of Derby's best restaurants. The mills and river hold stories of world class industrial developments. You can even enjoy a coffee at the park's café. An intelligent choice for the family.
J. M.
Love to go early in the morning it's so peaceful
M. S.
A very pleasant park with lovely paths around the river. A cafe of you fancy a cake and a drink, or even better why not pop into the Abbey for a beer.
G. C.
Hydrangea Derby

Lovely decent size park that I would love to live next to. Not too big and crowded and much more interesting flora than in Markeaton Park. Free parking however very small. Some of the trees are already beautifully blossoming and it’s only March! 🌳

It's an OK park out of the main area of Derby with the park being split in two different sides means that you have you exit the park and then go back into it two get from one side to the other. The park has no facilities
s. i.
beautiful large park. a bit boring not enough plants or colour to make the park more pretty

What a gem Darley Park is, I think it's probably the nicest one we have here in Derby. No litter, clearly well kept, a marvellous wide, tarmac path running alongside the river making it great for those who have children in buggys or for those less steady on their feet. Cafe was open and the toilets were, as usual, clean 😊
C. M.
Lots of space to walk, nice cafe and good play area.

A. W.
Lovely I've always loved coming for walks thro here and it's become a favourite of my daughter too.
T. R.
Very tidy park with lots to do.
A. F.
We've had cuppa's here for years, we call it Dog Walkers Cafe - and to be fair most patrons sit outside whenever possible so decor is n/a as far as I'm concerned, what can beat Darley Park, or sitting on the newly opened terrace for decor !!!
there is always water available for your Dog - and treats available to buy -
having said that, the menu is basic, you don't get your Mochas, cappuccinos, frappe's but it's not that sort of place, but for somewhere to sit, rest, replenish and socialise at the end of a dog walk there's no better place :)
a. d.
Great park - lovely walks
D. W.
Lovely walk round the park
J. B. (.
Great for the day out. What's better than a walk down the river bank on a warm sunny day or a cold frosty day with all the beauty one can experience from nature.

To my mind, the best park in Derby, near to town, free parking and a cafeteria which has good coffee and even better breakfasts!! Lovely trees, beautiful Riverside location and in summer, an amazing hydrangea collection.
J. F.
