S. D.Though I haven't actually used this car park. I do go by it regularly and believe it to be well located. Its close to ring road but also close enough to the city centre, that you don't have far too walk to get to your favourite stores. I have seen many cars coming and going from there which in my view makes it a popular stop when parking in the city. I have never seen people queuing to get in which would also indicate there is plenty of spaces available. It's barrier controlled which makes it safe to.
L. W.Best car park in the area. Great for shopping in the Sadler Gate/Iron Gate area. Lots of security features. Pay at machine on exit. Worth the money. Secure bike parking available here too.

D.i liked this car park, it is secure and fully monitored, you need a key card (given at entry) to code against your parking bay. this is to ensure that if your car is moved out of the bay, without you being there, the whole car park shuts down and your car is secured inside as nobody can enter or leave without the security staff authorising it. Just be careful, it is a tight carpark to manoeuvre around, very tight up ramp turns, take then wide and slow on full lock or your wheels will suffer kerb rash!
A. M.The process and payment system is daunting here, if you haven't been before. You can pay by credit/debit card, so don't panic. Payment is when you are ready to leave.
The security is provided by a manned control room with lots of security cameras, and also by sensors on the floor under each car. When you have parked, and are ready to walk out, you will find a machine in the stair area. You "secure" your car by placing the card you received when you drove in over a sensor, and typing in your car registration number. It then says that your car is secured.
If you want to visit your car, without driving off in it, you MUST unsecue your car at a machine before opening the car doors.
Payment is straightforward, but only possible at the machine on the ground floor by the car entrance. Price is comparable with other local multistoreys.
My biggest bugbear is that the up and down ramps are so tight that it is a nightmare not scraping your car as you turn out onto the level. A couple of times I had to re-take the steer back and forth to get around. I have an estate car, but it's not huge (Peugeot 308). Parking between pillars is horrible too, but this is typical of multistoreys.
T.Excellent car park, we always park here for piece of mind. You find a bay, remember the red bay number, scan your card at the machine and enter your red bay number, it will say your car is secure.
When you return, scan your card on entry to unlock the door to the car park. Pay at the machine, it will tell you that your car has been released. Then you are free to go. There's always someone on site if you need them. Excellent system and saves you worrying. We recommend Parksafe Systems Ltd to all.
D. H.Wouldn't normally write a review for a car park but this was a refreshing experience compared to other multi-storey car parks.
Big wide bays, manned 24/7 and it even has toilets you can use.
I just wish more car parks were like this!

Used this car park for years and only 2 complaits complaint.
My only issues are the location of the rusting of the electrical wires casing directly underneath the mens handover is questionable. Not sure how that passed a safety test. Wouldn't and don't feel safe putting my wet hands under that and not getting a shock!!
Toilets and stairs need a spruce now as grotty and like most other car park toilets. Grim.
If the above was fixed, 5 stars everytime.
J. A.Convenient location to Cathedral District shops and Museum and Art Gallery ( recommended to visit including families) in Derby. Lift for anyone not able to use stairs. Always human support available. Payment by cash or card. Efforts made to keep the building and your car secure including panic buttons. Minimum is £3.50 for an hour if I remember correctly.
V. M.Felt very safe in this car park. I did find the car park a little tight to drive my large vehicle through although in fairness I'm rubbish at judging space. The spaces are very spacious though,so no car door dents! The staff are friendly and helpful if you need them. I will use again.

B. S.On the face of it the carpark looks abit sus. It is a place to park your car if you want it 100% secure. You can't get in unless you have a card which is only obtained when entering the carpark in your car.

I was once caught out with the parking charges when I parked just after 3pm and left after 6pm l, I believe I paid more than I should :/
(ie there are 2 different parking charges rates during daytime and evening, instead of paying 5hr daytime rate, I had to pay 3hr daytime rate plus 2hr evening rate)
Nonetheless, I do feel secure parking here.
The light indicators on the ceiling which signals free parking spaces are handy.
Also, the toilet available on the ground floor is very convenient.
Overall, after comparing other parking charges and location in Derby city centre, can’t complain about this car park in Bold Lane.
Suggestion? It would be nice if they can consider taking card payments. I don’t always carry cash :)
C. P.This how all car parks should be. Cars are not parked at owner's risk. As long as the car has been locked and valuables are out of sight the car park management takes the responsibility for security of the vehicle. Parking bays are wide and each car is individually secured. All this at a price lower than most NCP car parks. Only criticism is the no debit card payment policy.

M. J.Park safe is the only place I feel comfortable leaving my car knowing nothing will happen to it, spaces are absolutely massive compared to most car parks, great security and prices as well as friendly staff if you ever have an issue.
