Reviews of Bentley Community Woodland Pit Lake

We had a lovely walk around here with Jazz , the paths are very good even after a lot of rain. We would certainly go there again.

Lovely walk away from the hustle of traffic. Suitable for cyclists, runners and walkers. Boots recommended if it's been raining, can get muddy.

Lovely place to walk. Not busy and you can easily get round on most paths. There are a few OFF ROAD areas that have been made by bikes. But the majority is unspoiled.

Very lovely area to walk in - all around Donny there's been amazing regeneration of the old pit tops!

The summer of 22 has dried it up 😔 what a shame! But as a walk it's absolutely lovely

Great place to take a long walk on a summer's day with the dog or children as there is a nice like and some kids climbing sculpture a spider I think?
The hills offer some exercise too if your that way inclined.
There is plenty of natural wildlife and in summer some swan's swim the lake, offers easy access to different parts of the village too.

Love this nature reserve. Lots of different walking routes and really good paths for either bicycles or disability buggies. Popular with horse riders too.

Enjoyed a lovely long walk with my young daughter. Just a shame there were idiots on motorbikes/dirtbikes making so much noise. Lovely and peaceful after they went. Was telling my daughter all about the colliery that used to be there. She loved it.

Was very nice but sad to see the lake is never filled enough for the swans to be on the island. Also there was alot of rubbish left I had my Autistic grandchild with me before we could get to him he had taken a drink out of a disgarded pop can. Sad because this is one of the few places we can come and just let him run about. But apart from that had a lovely walk and heard a cuckoo.

A very nice area plenty of woodland to explore catch the odd glimpse of a deer lots of paths and a good walk or short walk depending on route

So beautiful to say it used to be an old pit, miles and miles of trails and great links to the trans pennine trails.
My only negative (why i didn't give 5 stars), is that any kind of bins would be appreciated especially dog waste bins.
J. W.
Great place for a walk. Good wide paths to wander along with smaller more rugged routes if you fancy.

Always lived round here, can be a beautiful place when teenagers even adults arnt wrecking the place, killing the odd swan and goose every now and again. Will never get old, good walk and can be a beautiful place to relax.

Great for Dog walking and panoramic views of Central Doncaster from the 'pit top' Can get a bit muddy when it's wet but as long as you have sensible footwear it's a good walking space allyear round.

Beautiful green space, nice even paths. Only downside is the thoughtless few that can't take their rubbish home with them.

(Translated) The park greeted me with a closed parking lot. I don't know what the reason is but it is closed. Got on the bike and gas. Wide paths, level rather easy for a cyclist, a few hills, a forest, a few benches along the way and an almost dry lake. Although there were waterfowl, swans, ducks and gulls on it. Unfortunately....
(I could have predicted it by going here) anyway, as the park is located close to the city, I could not fully enjoy cycling because every now and then I encountered people walking with their pets off the leash. Ok, if they were still small dogs and here every second is a German Shepherd. One of them would eat my leg.
The area of the reserve is quite large and seems to be well-kept.
Although there are no places that can surprise you with something. Good for walks for local residents.

Jeden z nich zjadł by mi nogę.
Teren rezerwatu jest dość sporych rozmiarów i robi wrażenie zadbanego.
Chociaż brak tu miejsc które mogą Cię czymś zaskoczyć. Dobry do spacerów dla okolicznych mieszkańców.
