Very beautiful. You can take walks all around the lake (with a bike or with skates). There are lots of birds and some fish. The entire place has a vibe that truly made me happy and excited to return. I liked that there are multiple places to enter and exit the promenade. The island is a little bit messy, but still beautiful to walk on. Make sure to visit the Lakeside Park too. It’s gorgeous at sunset!

It's a lovely for a walk but I wish they put cameras up to deter people from letting dogs foul all over. As a dog walker and parent of a child, the amount of dog waste as you walk is disgusting and I can imagine people step in it daily. Wouldn't take a lot to deter people and it would also make people feel safer around the lake

Lakeside is a suburb of Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England, centred around a circular lake. Approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) south-east of central Doncaster, it has recently seen new development and modernisation with the construction of several new luxury housing estates, a leisure park with restaurants, a cinema, and a bowling alley, the Herten Triangle, which has more eateries and fast food establishments, the Lakeside Village shopping centre, and the Eco-Power Stadium. The area has settled vegetation, paths, bridges, notice boards and space for public gatherings around the lake.

Went to Lakeside Retail Outlet next door to the lake and decided to walk around it. It is a nice 2 mile walk and if you go on to the islands it is very tranquil. It is good for a walk, run or cycle and plenty of wild fowl. Not much else, there is no playgrounds or other for kids.

This is one of my favourite places in the whole world and I run round it x3 per week. If I have one criticism it's the lack of toilets. For such a great area that is popular all year round I am surprised that Doncaster council have not yet rectified that. It is a good walk round - approximately 1.4miles and is beautiful in all 4 seasons!

Pleasant walk. Takes about 30-40 minutes walking. Always popular with joggers, families and pleople walking there dogs. The lake has plenty of seats and the pathway is very flat. Parking can be an issue as no designated parking space near the lake. There is road parking though. I personally park at the lakeside village shopping center then walk to the lake.

Hubby and I like to have our weekend walk here. Lovely spot. Lots of building work going on at the moment but doesn't spoil our stroll. Plenty of wildlife to look at. Wish the dog owners would pick up the mess their dogs make!!

It took us an hour or so to go around the lake. It used to be a rubbish dump, you know, but the area has been revived as a lake where people even can swim, albeit it is not a good idea to do this, but youngsters still take their chances. The lake and Surrounding area boast with some spectacular views, loads of birds, and even turtles swimming around. Also, some great shopping facilities are situated nearby. So yeah, good area

Wonderful place. I took someone special to me here for our first date and the atmosphere was sublime. The sun's light bouncing off the water giving off that crystal like affect, and the water cascading down the rocks, giving off a thunderous applause. I might be exaduaring a little, but this place in a nice summers hot day, or a snow covered frozen lake, its truly beautiful.

Found this by accident! A lovely 2 mile walk . Saw lots of different birds but loved the nest coots with their babies, definitely an awww moment. Suitable for wheelchairs too! A small coffee shop is definitely needed 🙂

A good place for walking, running, cycling and dog walking paths around the lake circumference total 1.4 miles close by is a hill created by the excavation of the lake with footpaths for walking and cycling with views of the surrounding area the lake is close to the dome leisure centre and lakeside village and various food outlets various trails can be accessed from lakeside to bessecar and woodfield way and into Doncaster

Nice green space in the heart of Doncaster. Plenty of space for running around the lake itself, good for dog walkers too (although make sure you pick up). Also close to several food outlets for refreshments, and there is often an ice cream van close by too. Nice place to relax and unwind and get some fresh air.

It's a fantastic place for people of all ages and abilities, it is wheelchair and pushchair friendly lots of open space for children to play. There are two downsides to it. Firstly there is no toilets, and no signs for any nearby. Secondly they have just (in the last few days) made the path a one way system, BUT it is poorly signed at the entrances for it, i like to rotate my walk so i go clockwise one day anti clockwise the next, this has now been restricted. If it wasn't for these two things i would of given it 5 stars easily

Lovely walk on a sunny day with the trees and angles of the lake giving you a bit of shade just when you need it. Great for a walk with the dog just short of 2 miles and about 4000 steps (it actually tells you that) plus plenty of benches if you want a sit down to look at the ducks and swans

Fantastic lake and surroundings- close to pubs, hotels, recreation complex, football stadium and retail shopping. A massive hillside and once at the top it's an amazing view. The area has lots of wildlife and is popular with dog walkers.

The lake is a great place for a walk & a few of my clients like to train there every now & again (see photo). It's also interesting to see the events here like the rowing boats & remote controlled boats but I feel it could be used more. It could be made considerably better though; the lake itself could do with a clean up crew to fish out the litter from the corners (or a more frequent one if that already occurs), an outdoor play area would be a great addition, some more greenery (trees, plants, flowers, etc...) would be nice as in some places it's looks quite bare & I'm sure the wildlife would appreciate it, lastly it could do with some public toilets nearby (which hopefully wouldn't get abused).

Lovely to walk round with the dog, you can cycle, jog, scoot, use wheelchairs easily or push buggies there's plenty of space for everyone. Nice to have an large expanse of sky without buildings getting in the way. The lake is great all year round. Lots of Bloom growing in summer so can get smelly at times. Please don't feed the ducks, geese, swans any bread it's really not the best thing for them or the water condition, it gets annoying seeing whole loaves being thrown in constantly by people who don't know the harm they are causing. Great addition round the lake of the locked emergency throwlines, each dedicated to someone which is poignant and will make people realise that open water can sadly be dangerous. Great job Doncaster council and fire service 👍 They could do with a couple of AED' s now round the lake due to the amount of exercise people do here... They are expensive and sadly are at risk of being vandalised too like the old lifebuoys. The the lake is great and we need to keep it that way and keep visitors safe and happy.

Often slughtly ruined by cyclists pointlessly riding around the lake, paths for a third of the lake arent wide enough! At the right time of year this lake has an abundance of water birds. Cormorants, and Dab Chicks, are a particular highlight. But there are also Tufted Ducks, Gease, Swans, Gulls and Grebes.

I used to call here when I lived in Doncaster. I biked to Bessacarr or Rossington regularly. I walked to them too. I walked it to Asda this way to / from the shopping centre where I changed to from a bus. I was able to chill out for many minutes at various points here before moving on to the next stop point.
