Reviews of Sandall Park
I.
Very good park for family 👪 and just for walking. I'm so surprised when people is polite and park tidy.
Massive place playground what is fantastic 👏 then football area Massive. Starting thinking about moving causer to the Doncaster 😍
P. V. (.
Lovely park to have a walk around. There is a cafe but shuts early about 3pm I believe. Lots of ducks about. There was a Caribbean day today with stalls, food, DJ and there is always the playground as well for little ones.
A. B.
It paid a visit here today with one of my grandchildren, it was cold and wet, but we both thoroughly enjoyed feeding the ducks and geese, we had a little walk round the lake with the birds following us wherever we went, the cafe was closed which we had planned to visit, so we went elsewhere for a drink etc, there is a toilet block open to the public, which is handy when you have little one's with you. I think we will be paying another visit in the future.
K. S.
Good sized park with quieter and busier areas. A good sized park for kids, public toilets and a nice memorial walk. In the memorial walk area there is an outside gym and further climbing apparatus. There are also at the other side of the park 2 further play areas for smaller children. Plenty of places to walk dogs and usually an ice cream van on site. Great spot for a few hours with a picnic.
A. M.
Lovely day for a walk around the park with my grandson, good spots for a picnic and nice park for him to run around in.
A. T.
Always a lovely, well maintained park to take my grand daughter come rain or shine. The menagerie of birds is great for little ones to feed seed, 2 playgrounds to play on and big fields for sports. Just amazing local resource
R. L.
Lovely family days out 2 good parks lovely lake and ducks (watch out for the duck poo though lol). Lovely cafe on site and local amenities. Great way to spend a few cheap/free fun hours out with the kiddy winks. Also events such as fun fairs, circuses and Fake festival are also held here through the year.
L. C.
Go most days with the dogs for a run/walk. The majority of dog owners seem to be responsible and manage their dogs appropriately. Clean, tidy and well kept. Brilliant, safe park areas/facilities for the young children to burn off steam, eating/picnic areas/tables to enjoy a picnic in the nice weather and benches positioned around the park to enable people to sit and relax. Lovely walk around the lake and different fields. Plenty to see including wildlife. Two good sized car park areas too. Friends of Sandall Park do an amazing job. Only criticism is for dog walkers who do not clean up after their dogs, please do so and for the very few who think it's ok for their dog to run upto you when your dog is on a lead to think again.
M. C.
The park is very popular with dog walkers and every one enjoys feeding the ducks. The café is open again although not on Monday. It closes at 1.30pm daily.
There's a few play areas for children and places to exercise.
There's a route around the park for those who like to jog.
S. H.
Park a lovely place to have a nice walk with our dog. Lots of bins. Cafe a bit of a let down. We went to KFC across the road.
D. C.
Very nice walk around the park. With plenty of fields adjoining the lake walk.
Pram / wheelchair friends walk. Plenty of ducks and wildlife to see.
There is free parking which can get quite busy at times. There is a small cafe serving a selections of snacks and drinks.
Would highly recommend.
s. b.
Lovely little Park, plenty for the kids to play on. Has a nice little cafe and a toilet block with baby changing facilities.
D. L.
Very nice park. You can just relax or get plenty of exercise all in one place.
L. M.
Lovely park so much to do. Ice cream van is banging too 😋 2 happy boys today!
T. W.
Beautifully well kept park, lots of things for little people to do and gorgeous manicured gardens.
l. M.
Lovely place not visited here in the past 10 or so years was pleasingly surprised at how clean and tidy the area was and the cafe was definetly adhering to the social distancing and was nice an affordable. Will be making another visit her in the future and bring our son too
J. B.
Well looked after park, café and toilets plus free parking. Play area for the kids as well.
T. W.
Beautiful walks within the park, which contains lakes (populated by numerous ducks and geese), play parks for different age groups and an ample car park, with an adjacent cafe and toilet facilities.
S. M.
Lots of space and activities for all. Great adventure playground and other play areas around the park. Clean and tidy, good cafe, serving lovely food and drinks. Car parking available on site, busy place but not overcrowded. Gem of a place, a credit to all who volunteer to maintain it.
D. T.
2 good children's play areas, outdoor gym, lake and various paths, regular benches and a great café with toilet facilities. Marred slightly by the mess from the avian residents' 'mess' on the paths but otherwise a good park.
D. S.
Nice park with a lake, café, public toilets etc. Next to the Ledger retail center. There are free exercise machines and a place for kids to play
A. T.
A lovely park in Doncaster. We walked the dogs but there would be plenty to keep kids happy including a little nature trail and plenty of activities.
P. S.
Very nice clean and tidy well kept park & cafe
J. m.
Very tidy, no litter. Remembered the part where the swings are, when my 2 boys were young, same tractor climbing frame, thats at least 30 years old!!!
A. P.
Had a fantastic morning with the ParkRunners and my Sons school, Hungerhill School did a ParkRun take over, to raise money for our son Harry. The park is a lovely place and an asset to the wider community.
G. T.
So much as gone into this park by its community, had lovely pleasure meeting the original friends of community leaders and its a gorgeous place to spend some time in
S. N.
Nice place for a walk but the council need to do an early morning clean on the pavements so people arnt walking all through the bird poo and it will look alot ckeaner
k. p.
Excellent park .the toilets could do with an upgrade they were disgusting. The cafe on Sandall Park does serve decaffeinated coffee and that is all my husband can drink
M. S.
Had coffee sat outside cafe very busy good selection and reasonably priced nice walk round lake no boats anymore
M. R.
Awesome days fishing, every peg taken,I caught bream ,going bk for carp saw a fewn they were lumps
L. M.
Love taking grandaughter here. Upsetting Sunday when we saw crow swoop down n grabbed a duckling 😪😪😪
A. K.
This is a really beautiful park, lovely lake in the middle, cafe, toilets (cafe and toilets close early, around 3pm) two play areas for children, lots of different rides, including a zip line, huge open spaces to play ball games. There are a lot of geese and ducks in the lake, you can't feed them bread though, they are friendly and do come up to you of you have food. Wonderful park for walking the dog as well. Plenty of free car park spaces both in the park near the cafe and on the main road near the play area.
D. C.
Parking area is small, cafe is very popular, and lots of ducks to feed. Park is also kept clean. Most of the grass area becomes water logged and is a big waste for recreational play. 2 Play areas. Near the cafe is modern but limited to the amount of kit available. 2nd is a blast from the 80's. Not painted since then either. Plenty of play equipment. It is popular with the kids
P. W. (.
Enjoyed the walk and activities in the park today. Sadly council is behind with keeping waste bins managed (!again!)- overflowing rubbish, empty plastic bottles kicked by kids (no surprise here)… but thanks to the sun the “council poor management” wasn’t all that visible.
C. E.
I really enjoy going here. There has been great improvements made over the years. I love the Lake, the birds and wildlife. The play areas are vastly improved and the grassy areas which have been left to rewind have inspired some smaller scale similar efforts which are proving successful in my own garden. However as a person who has difficulty with walking I really hope even wish a few more benches could be put in place. This would enable me and others to enjoy the park even more. Dotted around the paths for example.
S. B.
Nice park not too large for a dog walk . A bit too many geese making a mess near the lake grassy areas .. great cafe .
A. B.
Went for the RSPCA dog show. Park looked nice with a cafe, clean toilets and a nice lake.
M.
Lovely park. Good walks and a fishing lake
A. R.
Clean, quiet place, parking available all day long, coffee shop and clean toilets
P. S.
The grandkids loved the trim trail, lovely park, easy free parking.
M. S.
Took our grandson for the first day of carribean weekend, nice afternoon, not very busy but was expensive.
N. B.
Love it here. Just a happy place testimejt to the hard work of the Friends of Sandall Park Volunteers. Only criticism is the toilet facilities cleanliness but as these are council and not sandall park I won't downvote them
M. S.
Beautiful and large park with lake, outside gym, free parking and three kid's playgrounds.
a. d.
This is an amazing park, often having different events on, we go most weekends. Couldn't recommend enough
M. 3.

D. G.
A lot of space for walking with dog.
Little bit wild square like Forest and quite place for picknick. really good condition.
A. G.
Lovely lake to walk round Nice and clean parks and exercise play area and cafe is really nice and food is spot on and staff are very polite and friendly
N. K.
Nice park
Great kids play area
G. K.
I was away from Doncaster for a year. First place to go for a walk with dogs is Sandal Park. Cafe has changed, redecoreted up market place now. You can also pay with card not just cash only. Enjoyed the full English Breakfast service was excellent.
R. C.
I love Sandler Park it is gorgeous. Good cafe
P. M.
An amazing park , due the hard work of the army of volunteers, for people of all ages. Big enough for the older ones to find peace and quiet, plenty of equipment for children and adults. Trails to follow or just to sit and watch the wild life. The ice cream van brings delight to young and old. The opening of the Cafe would be the icing on the cake. Pat
Y. W.
Lovely well-maintained park for all. Relaxing walk round the lake. Very good park with a variety of things for the kids to play on and use their imagination.
K.
Nice walk around the lake and grassy area, lovely flowers, trees and other plants. Sensory garden and areas to encourage wildlife. Friendly ducks and geese. Good quality play equipment provided in the play areas, especially the wooden obstacle course. Plenty of benches, and places to sit and have a picnic. There's a cafe, toilets and car parking but not that many spaces. Informative signs providing information on trees, wildlife etc. Plenty of people out walking their fur babies (shame some haven't picked up after them). There's an outdoor gym, and several people were out for a run. There's also platforms for fishing if that is your thing. A nice place to spend a couple of hours, or a day out. Thank you.
M. F.
So much better than it used to be.
Well done to all the volunteers for making the park a beautiful and safe place for familys to enjoy
l. b.
Family fun day at Sandal park. Great day out.
P. B.
Nice to walk around with a pushchair, feed the ducks and have nice coffee at the cafe.
R. P.
Nice little Park, clean from litter. Toilets on site and a cafe. Small parking areas.
J. S.
The park was clean, the grass short. We took some seed for the geese and ducks which was a lovely experience for the children to be amongst them feeding. The Children's park play area has swings, slides, roundabout and climbing frames, it was tidy and the children had a great time.
H.
Nice park. Plenty of free parking. Good cafe with nearby toilets (that close at 3pm). Lovely pond to walk around and great play areas. No areas to shelter in the rain (apart from the trees!) Our dog fell in the pond which was a bit hilarious poor mutt, but you do need to watch for children/dogs falling into the water as it's easy done.
C. F.
Nice place to walk, the little cafe is good as well.
c. 1.
Nice place for walking and nice play area for children and tidy place
N. W.
Good for walks. Plenty of wildlife, trees, etc. Lake currently closed due to blue green algae that has been killing the ducks.
D. C.
Nice little park with play area and lake with loads of ducks.
At one end is a sensory trail and there is another play area and some body workout machines.
Park run is held here on Saturday's when it comes back from the pandemic.
A lovely place to while away an odd hour or two.
S. R.
Fantastic park for a gentle walk or the 5k park run. Accessible for many people including disabilities
S. v.
Sandall park is a lovely walk. I recorded a walking POV for my social media here in order to generate interest in this little gem. Such a nice place, often doing family events too . Strongly recommend, theres also excercise equipment too and best of all ypu can visit the wildlife and birds and many of them are a character in itself, would like to see something developed in the south easterly corner, as it once was a golf course now is looking like it needs tlc, bring back golf, or create more instead of dog walkers taking liberties walking off and refusing to pick up dog waste. The mindset of people just because one part is not thriving. Seriously though create something there, recommend a few laps around the park and lake its worth it.
J. W.
Exceptionally decent stroll around the recreation center. With a lot of fields connecting the lake walk.
Pram/wheelchair companions walk. A lot of ducks and natural life to see.
There is free stopping which can get very occupied on occasion. There is a little bistro serving a determinations of bites and beverages.
Would strongly suggest.
R. C.
Lovely place in every way brilliant cafe
E. K.
Spacious, green and lovely goose walking around.
G. H.
Well maintained park by volunteers and there are lots of facilities for everyone
A. L.
Nice place to walk, take the child's and also walk the dogs
H. H.
Loved the Park but not the poop!! Had a lovely walk round the lake - suggest going round the back to avoid all the bird poop. Gardens and lawns are lovely and when the cafe is open, will be a go to place for me
D. D.
Well maintained local facility that is run by friendly enthuastic volunteers.
J. V.
Restrictions removed(certain items had been fenced off for covid). Nice and quite, plenty of space given by other parents and children.
Could do with a jet wash on the paths around the pond but that's geese for you.
M. B.
Took Grandson to park. 2 play areas available. School day so only pre school children there. Plenty of room on activities with a good selection of apparatus which is in good condition. Play area is enclosed by railings and the two entrances are designed to keep dogs out. Second play area nearer to lake is open and less activities. Picnic tables are available by both areas. Toilets male/female and disabled were open but not used by us.
A large, free car park is available and bus service is available to both sides of park.
E. D.
Great , children's play park and beautiful lake.
M. A.
Nice place for picnic, playground for children and place to keep fit
R. S.
This a very good place you can go to there playing games and jogging and much more
s. f.
My grandkids love the parks and always have so much fun! Memory making💖
S. E.
Nice to see baby geese and ducks grow up and fly away. Plenty of facilities for children and food to eat x
M. H.
Great place, lovely walk around the lake, there's a park for the kids lots of parking
a. p.
Nice open space with lake and 3 areas for kids to play. Need to keep your dog on a lead round the lake to protect the wild foul. But the rest of the areas are fine to take that lead off.
T. R.
Love this park great for kids but watch out for the attack chickens by the lake
R. C.
Well maintained local park with a cafe and toilet facilities.even has a planned keep fit walking/running routes for all abilities 😁great place to bring the little ones. Loads of birds and a little ones play park. Easy to get to and the cafe is great😁😁walk round the lake is highly recommended.plenty of open grass land too.
L. S.
Amazing place to go and chill out peaceful and calm. Wonderful to go for a walk around
K. A.
Great park and lots of things to do with kids. It's really clean and well kept so makes a really nice environment. Good to see the toilets open again which helps with the kids
S. W.
Good place to visit with the grandkids
S. R.
Lovely fising and a nice public park area.
S. B.
Nice green space on the outskirts of Doncaster town centre. Good outside space, cafe, facilities and a great park run at the weekend. Plenty of parking available too
H. D.
The park itself was lovely, the van selling refreshments was very overpriced for the amount of food you got. We ordered a sausage bagel, the small sausage patty in it didn't even reach the edges of the bagel-a centimetre gap all around the edge which for £3 was extortionate, certainly won't be buying from them again!
A. T.
Good.for the kids plenty of things to do there's a really big playground near the idea cream van ans then a small one at the other side of the park in the holidays there's been bouncy castles there for kids too ..4 of them u do have to pay by the grandkids really enjoyed it there ...u can play foot ball there.too and plenty of wildlife too.x
K. M.
Nice little park area, big open pond with swans and ducks.
Local shops and fast food, also a little cafe available most of the time for a nice refreshing coffee.
C. F.
Toilet facilities are in need of some improvement, but we do like this park. Nice to see repairs being carried out to play areas too 👍
P. E.
Nice spot found by chance while waiting for my partner at hospital
S. B.
Great little park with a lake, playgrounds and sports facilities. Perfect for a family walk. Busy cafe but service was prompt.
V. K.
Very clean and family friendly 🥰🦆🦋🌸🌼🌷🌺🌾
R. E.
For a council free park it's great for the kids and old alike. There are many "play" areas for the kids and walks around the lake for the older person. The cafe is cheap and cheerful with plentiful portions. Lots of wild life to see and feed but don't bring bread, it makes them ill. Please bring proper duck food.
J. G.
Nice, relaxing park to walk around with many geese
A. T.
Lovely park kept nice and clean, the swings area adjacent to the entrance opposite Kentucky across the road, some of the swings etc are looking old and past their best.
M. B.
Great for kids to play xx
S. S.
Great park for dog walking, a lot of the bins are full of rubbish and full bags left to the side of them. Saw the same bags from yesterday still there today, shame a lot of dog walkers don't pick up after their dogs.
It is a lovely park despite the few things I mentioned, I enjoy taking my dog for a walk there.
M. K.
Nice place to visit, take a picnic blow off the cobwebs and relax on your own or the kids.
B.
Really enjoyed walking the dog round. Lots of geese though, so couldn't let her off lead.
L. N.
A lot of space for children to run around and burn energy. Good park equipment. And the new exercise parks and wooden climbing frames and outstanding!!! You should all definitely donate to this lake and parks so that more development can be done in the future. X
S. J.
Lovely Park with some really nice play areas. Lots of geese to feed there today and a fun fair that we totally loved despite the on/off rain. A really nice Park to visit with bus stops located in easy walking distance.
They also host Circus Starr on a regular bases which we have been to twice. On all occasions we have visited the park for functions they have been very good at sign posting everything so you know where your going. Recommend. 🌟
E. S.
Lovely huge park with lake, sensory area great walks for all abilities. Lots of parking lovely cafe, loads wildlife and events held, also fishing with licence
T. U.
A beautiful small park.Visiting from Blackpool to do the Park Run.
S. H.
The place is a gem.. Absolutely loads of different play areas for kids of all ages. Toilets. Many picnic benches. Tons of space for ball games and 4 Geocaches to find... And of course a cafe. Wonderful
T. H.
Absolutely amazing place to go and relax few things to do from feeding the ducks to going for walks and playing on the park and they also put lots of activities on for the kids for example the pirate and princess event they did yesterday 😀
L. F.
I love this place I go in any weather the cafe is nice and great to chill
C. o. D. -. L.
Nice park for kids and dogs and great for wildlife too
N.
Nice and lean and plenty of space to run around
S. T.
Sat and ate fish and chips in the carpark. Lovely view on the park, including lake and lots of new planting.
J. J.
Lovely place to have a walk with all ages. Park for the children's, nice open field to walk pets and for the kids to run around as well as a lovely lake to fish on or feed ducks
L. (.
Great place for kids to go feed ducks, play and run around. Love taking my son just as much as I loved going as a kid. Great that they're still adding to it too. Shame the baby change isnt a little cleaner, cobwebs etc. A caged football/basketball area would be great too.
J. N.
My daughter is nearly 2 years old and loves to feed the ducks and play on the park
M. M.
Great Park plenty of space to be away from people. And plenty of play area for kids of all ages👍❗good park to run laps too.
D.
Good place to do some fishing
M. Q.
The friends of Sandall Park are out again working to get the park up and blooming again. Great dedication that sometimes goes unnoticed. It was good to see people there again, socially distanced. A park is there to be loved.
A. B.
We like the café here 😍 and are upset about it closing soon for refurbishment. The park is located near a residential area and we love walking round the lake in the summer. The Sunday dinners here are amazing value but it's so busy this time of year that we often can't get a seat!
R. M.
Nice park with two car parks. No charges for parking in the one we went in. Large playground lots of open space for ball games. Plenty of ducks to feed. Probably takes around 20-30 mins to walk around.
B. R.
Plenty of play area and apparatus for kids of all ages so good for that would say it's a nice walk around lake but there is more goose droppings than concrete. cafe and toilets were closed and this was a Saturday ? Unlikely to go again only reason i would would is on a cooler day as was too hot to use some of slides
A. K.
Lovely park, very clean and the dog owners seemed to pick up after their dogs 👍Only downside was that the little coffee caravan and the toilets shut very early on a Saturday afternoon, we got there at 1 and by 2 they were shut
S. C.
Lovely park for all ages lots of open space. The only disappointment is that there are 3 toilets but only 1 is open it would be good if they had 2 open
B. S.
A great park to spend some time in. There is a cafe, public toilets, a play area for kids and a mapped out walk around the park. It also has a picnic area so you can eat your own food. The downside is there can be alot of geese and other water fowl.
J. A.
Children’s play equipment is great, for a free public park. Can’t wait for the redevelopment & new facilities.
M. C.
Lovely for the kids, need to utilise the lake more
D. G.
Good size park and two playgrounds for children, also lots of ducks 😊
Parking for the car is also good size!
A. B.
It's an ok park if your walking dog of going to the kids play areas. Just watch out for the geese as they are very aggressive here. Has basic toilets by the cafe.
The cafe is very cheap and so is the food quality. I don't think there is much meat in those sausages. It's dirty and in desperate need of a lick of paint! It has an outside sitting area for the summer.
The kids play area is very large with not much in it I'm afraid. Basic swings and large slide, keeps the kids entertained at least.
E.
As part of my job, we patrol parks and most popular public places, so i often go there for a walk (i love this job😁)I used to take my kids to Sandall Park, at least once a week, when they were little, like most Parks in Doncaster they are well looked after, it's very popular with parents with little ones, there is a nice kids playground, a dinner with plenty indoor space, joggers, dog walkers,
c. a.
Very big open play area. Fun for all children. Picnics. Fishing. To see the wild birds on the lake. To follow the trails around the park. Toilets could have been fresher. Cafe for snacks and meals. Easy to get to and beautifully maintained. Lots of events all year round.
A. M.
A very large park with lots of things to do. There are playing areas for the kids. You can take your dogs there but they must be on a lead. They have a place where you can get food from. They have toilet facilities. There is a lake you can walk round.
They have festivals and things here. They do a park run here as well. Has parking as well.
a. h.
Many childhood memories here, often pull it in on my bike rides
P. E. E.
What a lovely place. You don't see pin heads and drunks around the park. Honestly kids are very much safer there than in other parks in Doncaster have been too ...am recommend the park to friends and families all the time..love the place
O. L.
Lovely big park with a pond. Pond is full of ducks and geese which is great for taking kids to go and feed them. There's also been an upgrade recently on the park so there is more play facilities for children.
The park seems relatively well maintained but the opening hours for public toilets are quite short so if you're stopping by later in the day it'll be closed and the nearest place is KFC over the main road.
D. K.
Great park with large boating lake (no longer allowed), for the warmer and Summer months! Large variety of ducks, geese and waterfowl for the kiddies to take an interest in. All day cafe (until 7.30pm, weekdays) with large menu. Toilets managed by the Friends of Sandall Park in a separate outhouse. Could spend a couple of hours relaxing here!
L. A.
Lovely morning out to the park with an elderly relative. The park had adequate seating and good footpaths for a frail person. Fed the ducks and admired the plants and trees. Cafe also open and adds to the visit.
P. F.
Always enjoy Sandall park. Two nice play areas, large fields, lake with ducks and lots of walks.
Often there are bouncy castles there too, little pricy at £2.50 for 20 minutes, fun for little ones tho.

They could do with a splash park and more floral plants but other than that it's brilliant. Good facilities in the way of a decent sized cafe and toilets and parking. The grass areas are clear of rubbish and kept tidy.
j. j.
Great outdoor space with plenty to do for the kids. Often an ice cream van on site.
A.
Nice for the children and adults alike play areas are good you can feed the ducks and there is a lovely cafe too that serve good meals or you can just get yourself a drink
S. G.
The park itself is quite nice and useful. It has long paved trails for walking/jogging or dogwalking. There is a nice play area for children. In rain it can get muddy around the trails but the little roads themselves are okay.
There is a cafe onsite as well which closes about 7PM. The toilet facility also is locked early but the park entry itself is always open.
Because of the water it has some nice angles for nature photography.
R. R.
Park itself is lovely, with plenty of different play areas. Toilets are awful though, and often have cubicles locked.
C. B.
Lovely walk around the lake. Playground for the kids and plenty of nice spots for a picnic
S. B.
Great local park. Always something going on. Parkrun, Junior parkrun. FoSP do a great job along with Doncaster Council of maintaining the park, despite the efforts of the local vandals at times.
E. B.
Love the layout of Sandal Park and enjoy even on a winters day with the dog. Fantastic cafe on site.
M.
Great little park in the middle of town. Decent for dog walking. Small play area for children. A lake with a variety of birds. Events held from time to time. For what it is, a TOWN park, it is great and clean.
E. B.
Really good enjoyed the day out.
Z. F.
Use time walking around was lovely. Clean shame the disabled loo wasn't oped an was bolted shut
M. S.
Park is old but kids still enjoy it can also have a nice walk around the lake can be busy sometimes
A. H.
Parking spaces
Nice lake with ducks
Nice place to go for a walk and exercises
J. L.
Lots to play on for varying ages in a fenced in enclosure with grating so dogs can't get in+ an ice-cream van and shaded clean grass or picnic tables to sit on/at to eat them. Toilets and a cafe on the other side of the park
M. S.
Had a nice walk round park with wife and baby granddaughter changed a lot since i was young no boats now boat sheds gone
N. D.
Ok place for stroll and fun with kids in play park also has a cafe and toilets
J. R.
Lake needs cleaning up in some parts and hedges need trimming back and still this park is very popular but it does require more maintenance to keep it looking as it should
D. O.
Nice Park, lots of space for walks and lots of areas for kids. The maintenance the playgrounds needs work, we're a little dangerous.
A. M.
lovely place to relax and clear uour mind
M. O. I.
Nice place to relax, even though it looks like a forgotten place by the council, play areas from 20 year ago, lake water is dirty etc.
g. j.
Watching the first parkrun, in 16 months. With my puppy. Great to be able to walk him round the park again.
M. I.
Nice and clean, very good for a walk or for spending time with the kids outside.
J. C.
There are two parks for children and there is a cafe also there is usually an ice-cream van it boost a lovely lake and nature walk has a little car park also it has a very large field and if you walk far enough you will come to a big wooden play part with exercise equipment it is in my opinion the best place for all the family to go no matter there age. Quite a large park, three seperate play areas for kids. Got a decent size pond. A large cafe,, toilets. Plenty of ducks and geese for the kids to feed, it hosts fake festival yearly. And a summer time fair. Handy for mcdonalds and kfc both located just outside the park 🙂
R. W.
Visited this park at the weekend as the weather was lovely. The play areas for children are well designed and they had a lot of fun. We had a walk around the lake.
G. M.
I really like coming here to disconnect from the Town and it's noise. You can come here by car or bus, and even in bicycle or to walk your dog. Have a picnic with your loved ones... or simply come on your own with some music while you enjoy a nice walk.
J. S.
Well kept park with lots of pathways as well as big open spaces and a play park for the kids. Big lake to walk round and lovely cafe which serves a nice breakfast
M. G.
Whatever the season whatever the weather, always great to walk round the lake and with at least two play areas for the kids, you can have a great family walk then pop into the cafe for hot chocolate and coffee, or a good hot meal
R. G.
Great place to play with your kids
T. T.
Ran the parkrun on a saturday morning. Nice run and z nice cafe after
J. O.
Not been for a while. It's a lovely park with various different play areas and lots of open space for ball games. The cafe is fab. Good food and reasonably priced. The staff are great and exrremely friendly. We pop in even if not visiting the park. My only gripe is the price of the icecream van. At £2.00 for a standard icecream cone or tub or £2.50 with a flake, it's extremely overpriced. Especially as it's only Mr Whippy icecream, not even a speciality one. Unfortunately as it's the only one on the park, it has the monopoly on visitors for customers. Next time i will give it a miss and take the kids to Iceland just down the road and buy branded icecreams at a fraction of the cost. Fabulous park though. Well worth visiting. Dog friendly too.
G. T.
If the paths could be a little more free from goose droppings this place would be 5*, it's a fantastic place for families that is sometimes let down by the poor behaviour of a few visitors vandalising, but the work done by the volunteers really does show
S. A.
2 little but reasonable car parks. Good for the kids as there is 2 reasonably sized parks both containing different things. A cafe, public toilets (mens, womens and baby changing) lots of ducks, a place to fish and lots of land for picnics playing with the dogs and other activities. Across the road is Home Bargains KFC and Lidl.
W. A. T.
Good space for the fair
R. G.
Good Park with great little rides dor the kids
J. W.
Nice walk around the park. Good place to feed the ducks. Two cafes nearby but closed due to covid regs.
j.

Beautiful park
A. S.
Nice too have a nice walk and feed the ducks. Also the park is quite big
D. N.
Love to walk there... Nice footpath, water, goose and ducks... Lovely!
M. E.
Simply because I used to come here as a kid and now I take my daughter and she loves it, just a shame they don't hire boats out now which I realise was years ago. They used to have rowing boats here then peddle boats then it just shut up shop. It's a shame because you could do so much with this park and lake.
J. K.
Nice little park with Duck pond and great cafe food
A. L.
Spent 2hrs there on sunday 23 june with my grandsons they love it i was very impressed it been awhile since we took them there its got a lot better .just a shame the only cafe is a greasy spoon .i used the park a lot has a child when the boats and trains were there but its definitely moved on.
T. S.
The play area could be a bit crowded and the ice-cream too expensive! £2 for a small flake!! As it was very slippery (after more than a week's rain), we (5 of us) slipped and fell down and were absolutely soaking wet and muddy and that made our day. lol.
C.
Love the park, has always been great but just wish they'd bring back the boats on the lake!
M. A.
Lovely park, plenty of space, a lake, wildlife, cafe, toilets including disabled, children's play areas and lots of room for dag walking
M. T.
Wonderfully relaxing at any time of year. Trails made out for the calorie level you want to burn and an excellent cafe to put them back on again.
P. K.
There are plenty of Pokestops and Pokemon Gyms, also it is an Onyx nest.
T. F.
It's just a lovely place to visit, park for the kids, lake, geese n ducks aplenty and a great little cafe to top it off

1.
A really nice slice of tranquility- lovely and open and the "care garden" is a great idea
l.
Nice park
S. T.
No toilets close to the main play ground, definitely require more toilets in various locations across the park rather than the main entrance... 2 children desperate for a wee and a 20minute to the closet restroom is not a good combination
S. O.
Great time with grand kids
M. H.

The ramp to the zip wire is very slippy and causes many children to fall over. One swing is creaky. The ducks are very angry. The rest is good though.
M. H.
Surprisingly lovely city park with several great children's playgrounds, open fields for games/sports and paved paths for walks

Love it there so much for the residents I work with who have autism to do and burn off some energy
K. H.
It's a park, if you love parks then give it a try, if you hate and or are scared of the park like the children in Home Alone 2 are apparently then steer well clear.
P. W.
Beautiful place, loads of fun for kids and outdoor gym.
L. I.
