Reviews of The Dean Plantation
If this walk was just yourself and maybe your dog, it would be ideal. Quiet, peaceful, plenty of space. However I took my baby in the pram, and the hills/loose gravel were a nightmare for the pram. Plus, the path just seems to stop, whereas online it is meant to be a circular path?
Excellent place for a walk. Lots of different paths. Take care for cyclists though, as there are a few.
Perfect short forest walk with the dog. Remember to pick up after your dog though, don't spoil it for everyone else
Very muddy most of the year and there are not as many routes as there used to be. Still good for a quick ride on the bike.
A nice mix of woodland giving some varied walks!
Lovely place for a quiet walk through the forest.
Nice walk
Nice and peaceful, shame too many trees have been ripped down
Nice walking lot's of wildlife
Been quite a bit of deforestation recently, some paths quite messed up
Extensive woodland , good for bird wat ching
Took my mountain bike to try it out. A few good trails. Some parts steep, many flat. Quite muddy. Lots of tree roots due to being a forest. Just next to the old railway line cycle path
Quite a lot of deforestation recently, spoils it a bit
Great for dog walking
Love visiting Uncle Mike on Lundin Road
Amazing at this time of year for Bluebells
Nice wee forest to wonder through.
Beautiful forest <3
Excellent for walking especially with dogs, although parking is very limited. Make sure your dog is on a lead before you exit your car and when returning from the walk , again ensure the lead is on at least 100 metres before the exit. (This is to prevent them being hit by a car on what is quite a busy road - the woods themselves are perfect for of-lead activities).
My 2 Patterpoo pups love walking through the Dean Plantation. Great place for a walk.
Amazing walk, especially on a good day. Not well sign posted, but you can get all the information needed online prior to starting the walk. Takes a few hours, but worth it. Took our dogs with us and they just loved running around the woods. Was able to let them off the lead as nowhere for them to run off too. Only thing is there is a bird scarer in a field near the walk that may scare dogs too.
A fabulous stroll across rolling fields with stunning scenery.
A beautiful countryside walk leading from Crossford. Fantastic views, forests and vales of ferns and flowers. Great for individuals, families and dog walking.
Fabulous place, with some ancient beech trees around 500yrs old. Parking is very limited. Its a lot bigger than you think so leave plenty time to explore
passed here many times, 1st time visiting was today will defo be back often there lots to see kids had a great adventure . wear old cloths muddy and slippy but fun with loads of plants and animals to look out for
Great walks with the dog
