Great space. The pond is an amazing place for a dog walk or a quick recharge on lunch from the office. Only down side is that in the winter the mud is insane, especially if you plan to do the circuit of the pond. Resurfacing the patch could help, but make sure you wear proper shoes in cold wet weather. The range of bird that make their home in this urban green space is amazing.

Beautiful in summer although cannot walk fully round as the water is overflowing blocking the path. Lots of wildlife but needs to be drained and the number of trolleys (yes trolleys) removed. Apart from that, I love the place!

I live right next to it, and it's ideal for sitting on the grass with a beer, ahem, I mean a cold drink. There's enough space at the south side of the lake for a game of football or to fly a drone. The amount of birds that call it home is impressive, if you're interested in seeing ducks/swans etc.

Located close to the foot of Leith, Lochend Serviced Apartments have this quite aura of peace and it felt really nice staying in the apartment society for 10 days. The staff is very friendly but cleanliness and service in the apartment could be improved to make it too perfect for a wonderful stay.

The park and loch used to be much better until a few years ago when they messed around with the middle which had been a haven for birdlife. Now the paths around the pond regularly become flooded and the trees in the loch won't last much longer. Still a good amount of bird species and a pleasant walk, it was just better when it was more 'wild'.

Lovely park and pond. Lots of moor hen, ducks, gulls, swans and often a heron. Unfortunately there is a drainage problem, according to their Facebook they've had people out you look at it and frequently remove nappies etc that people push into the drains, but it requires now a lot of expensive work to fix. This means a large proportion of the footpath is now flooded and you can no longer walk around the lake. Park still v popular, especially with dogwalkers

This is my local park. It's got some wonderful things about it and some things that should be improved. On the plus side: fabulous views of Arthur's Seat and the Loch which has a lot of birds and wildlife to see. A small playpark and some picnic benches. A walk around the loch is usually a nice experience. On the down side: a lot of dogs off lead and a lot of dog fouling. It's everywhere. On the paths, the grass and even inside the fenced play area. Rats. There's quite a few of them. They are not shy. They are big and often near the water. Lack of play facilities for older children in the area, who are often bored and take to wrecking the little kid play area. They need a skate park or better basketball court because big kids are still kids and need outdoor spaces of their own. Rubbish. I used to pick up rubbish when I visited but it's endless. People are very messy at this park and there are plenty of bins. Overall I love this park but it could use some care from the people who use it.

A hidden gem of a park with historic Lochend House looking down on Lochend loch. You'll see plenty of ducks, more seagulls, the resident swans and if you're lucky one of the herons that nest here. There's also a playpark and plenty of grass for the kids to run around. Just be wary of the dog poo, sadly a lot of dog owners use the park as a dog toilet and don't clean up after their pets.

I visited for the first time and it's a nice little park with a bigger loch. The loch had overspilled into the park, but only a little. There were plenty of birds around. I spotted a grey heron, plus many coots, moorhens, ducks and other birds. There was also a few squirrels running around. You get a good view of Arthur's Seat. A children's playground will keep your kids happy for a while and there's a doocot, pump house and castle/house for your historic visit. A worthwhile place to visit.

This park is getting better, the loch is the highlight! Sometimes could see cranes in the loch depends on the season. Just like a wetland, a hidden gems in the city. The little playpark is small but enough for children to release their energy for a little while! But plenty of dogs and dog walkers, I haven’t seen any dog fouls on the pavement not sure about on the grass. But thanks for picking your own dog’s fouls! That makes so much different to the park and to the people who uses the park!

Beautiful Park surprising to find right by Hibernian Stadium. Ducks pond is circumvented by a walking path. It has open spaces for the kids to play. It's not a botanical garden but it works.

My favourite park in Edinburgh - a little bit of history, a gorgeous big pond (or is it loch...) full of wild bird species and perfect to run around. The Friends of Lochend Park do a great job of keeping the green space tidy and free from litter, and there's a children's play park, basketball hoop and football pitch as well. A little green heaven just a few moments from home.
