Reviews of Cuningar Loop
N. A. H.
Awesome place for kids and family picnic. A lot of kids play areas. Fantastic views of river Clyde. Some construction is also going on which will hopefully further add value to the park. Car park is temporarily closed due to construction so you need to find a place on adjacent roads to safely park your car. Overall a great and satisfying experience!!!
S. A.
Great walk, loads of different paths that eventually meet up, nice little boardwalk along the river Clyde. Great place to walk dogs and take kids. Need more bins along the path though! Public toilets at the start of the walk are a great addition!
L. A.
This is a great park, lots of wooden climbing equipment, hills with slides down them and rock climbing boulders for a real challenge. You can cycle/scoot there along the Clydeside cycle path and there is a special bike track just behind the park. They have also recently added a really nice public toilet and there is a permanent food stall. If you need to drive there is no assigned loop parking, but you can usually find somewhere to park nearby.
S. O.
This is a superb park with lots to see and do. There is clearly a lot of investment going into it too, with a new tower (The Tur) and new building (possibly a visitor centre?) and various other new attractions going in. The playpark area is currently being renovated and due to open end March 2022.

The loop just keeps on improving. See it now while it’s still quiet as the summer comes and with new facilities it will soon be busier than ever.
T. R.
Nice and quiet place to go. There’s a cool playground where children can play. Kids and pets friendly
M. M.
Great entertainment for all the family. Watch you don't get eaten by one of the dinosaurs!! ha ha. Best to wear wellies as ground was very muddy due to the foot fall.
J. R.
Lovely wee park , had a dinosaur exhibition which all the kids seemed to enjoy . Will go back in a few weeks to get a better walk around without the exhibition as that took up half of the park
D. C.
Good fun for kids but access could be alot better to the park and the general footpaths are extremely worn, walked on and muddy at many parts so could be very difficult for prams and wheelchairs etc
L.
Don't let the photos with the construction put you off. This park is beautiful and perfect to take your kids for a day out or even just for a peaceful walk. It's got a mixture of everything from great views, peaceful paths along the Clyde, a play park and rock climbing outdoor facilities.
M. M.
What a wonderful place for young and old alike, i attended the outdoor arts activities with my niece and it was fab, varying activities planned to involve the children and keep their interest, in fact it was so good my niece wanted to go back for the afternoon session!
Daily sessions this week 10.30 -12.30 and 1.30-3.30. The session leaders were enthusiastic and obviously enjoyed working with the children, would highly recommend.
y. c.
Took our Grandson over he loved it people are very friendly, there was a man at the exercise bars
C. C.
The council have been working on this area for a few years and have significantly improved every aspect of the land. It's a lovely green area next to the River Clyde and has a wide range of facilities for children and others. I always like to walk round this park.
T. M.
My 2 boys love it. They are 5 and 3.
The bike tracks keep them occupied for around 20 mins and then off to the park for a good 30 mins and then a lovely hack around the water and do some exploring.
M. B.
A great day out with the kids & the dog. Good accessible paths, great tracks for bikes and very suitable for young riders. Fun was had also on the adventure playground and the climbing boulders. The dog was off lead plenty too so it was enjoyed by all.
s. t.
This park is great, they are constantly developing jt adding new walk ways, carparks and things to do in the park and for being just outside the side it's scenic views of the river are lovely
O. S.
As far as this park goes, this park closely reaches the standard of what a modern urban park should be. It has many amenities that I think are fantastic. There is an area to do mountain biking, outdoor classroom and my personal favourite, an outdoor bouldering area. This park has been extremely well thought out. It isn't just a place to go walk your dog, it is a place with great opportunities for free and fun activities. Personally, I spend a few hours bouldering, but you can simply go for a nice walk in nature. There is some work still going on in the park, but without doubt I would say this is the best park in Glasgow.
The reason I gave it 4 stars is that it isn't quite perfect yet. I would like to see maybe some stalls a few days a week where people can sell their goods and maybe a cafe with an outdoor seating area for the summer, then it would be perfect.
You probably won't find a better park in Glasgow.
K. Z.
A lovely park to take a walk, especially the wooden path beside the river. Worth visiting if you live nearby.
M. 1.
The loop is nice to walk around with a few different activities (playpark, climbing rocks, bmx trail etc). The playpark is not huge and it was busy when we visited (although I suspect not as busy as it can be), so it was difficult for the kids to use any of the equipment. The climbing rocks are a good feature. The car park has very limited capacity, so if you are travelling from further afield you may need to park on the road outside (which has weekday restrictions). There are portaloos along the walk but the water wasn’t working. There seemed to be some building works so possibly the facilities are still being worked on.
G. F.
This is a lovely park with great amenities. It’s been well designed and is a very enjoyable walk. We visited for the first time during lockdown so it was relatively busy with people walking. The wooden pathway gives beautiful views of the river - I wasn’t expecting it!
Only thing I would say is that Glasgow residents seem unable to have anything nice without ruining it, judging by the horrendous amounts of litter dropped and the burned sign at the bike track. Not a reflection on the park, but on the locals.
C. S.
A great location with diverse outdoor activities for kids. Cycle tracks, bouldering and adventure playground.
The board walk along the Clyde is a nice short walk for the family with young kids. Also quite away from the water and fairly safe.
Cycling is nicely set up and was well used by toddlers on balance bikes. There is a pump track. Also bigger tracks for older kids.
The bouldering is neatly set out, with little guides on how to approach your climb. Simply brilliant. Nice to see some thought going into this.
There is a cafe to get toasties, wraps, sandwiches and drinks. Also an ice cream van.
The adventure playground is fairly large and lots to climb and play on. Best to see photos than me describing.
There is a free car park for around 30 cars.
There are toilets in the form of a portakabin style. There is baby change in one of them.
I went on a Sunday and there were staff on site cleaning the area.
All in all great for outdoor activities.
D. R.
Hardest thing is to find the place, not very well sign posted. But once your in its and amazing wee gem of a park, especially for kids, great swing park, exercise equipment, mountain bike course and the boulders for climbing are great for kids and adults plus there are harder ones with difficult routes for keen climbers. Nice grassed meadow and a a board walk all along the river. Will be back again
L. W.
Kid friendly park with lots to do from rock climbing zip wires chutes monkey bars to name a few and 2 bike scooter tracks there is a wee on site hut selling food and hot and cold drinks and an ice cream van didn't try anything as hadn't brought money with me. There are 2 portaloos for dire emergencies and I would love to come back with bikes to do the full circuit. Only downside is no easy access for disabled people you can't park in the park at all. Need to park outside on the road and walk in. Not a problem for people who are mobile but anyone who has difficulty walking any distance may struggle unless they have wheelchairs as the paths are nice and flat and wide. Both disabled spaces were empty when I visited. Worth a look great few hours for the kids and dogs
H.
Great kids bike track and off road track. Great wood-based playpark with more natural feel. Can be very muddy, and there are no toilets, so be prepared.
S.
Brilliant kids bmx/bike track. Good park. Car park opens a bit late at the weekend, 9am! Will definitely be back.
L. A.
Always love coming here. Wish there were signs to let us know when it'll reopen for the kids park
K. m.
Great park for all ages. Great for dog walkers or people with kids. Really flat manageable walkway makes easy access for wheelchairs to. If you fancy a bite to eat after it McDonald's kfc n Tesco are across road from opening and it is close by to rutherglen and dalmarnock train station if you don't live in the area.
G. M.
Great park to visit. Nice walk around it and a good adventure park for the kids. Although a lot of the stuff is pretty high up even for teenage kids. So some of it must be for exercise. There is a climbing area and a few good wee cycle tracks too. A cafe and ice cream van where the play park is. Toilets are temp cabins and are nearer the entrance to the park. The only reasons for a 4 and not a 5 is poor parking as didn't seem any at the park just spaces on the street further out,if you could get them. There is a mcdonald, kfc and Tesco close by if in need of food too. A good few hours had there. Will def go in the summer next year.
H. P.
Brilliant place for kids esp on bikes or scooters. Bike track is excellent and play area really good too. Needs more/ better toilets closer to the playpark. And more benches.
W. A.
Very nice place to visit with kids. Highly recommend.
c. r.
Great re-purposing of the area.
- flat well kept paths and trails.
- good wee bike trail.
- play area aimed more for larger children but a good run around.
- Will be back.
S. P.
Exciting park close to nature. Its underconstruction.
Perfect destination for kids and adults who like outdoor activities.
J. T.
Went for Dino event. Nice place to walk, although Wellies are a must!
G. W.
Great park, fun and free plenty to do and a chance to spot some wild life.
M. B.
Such a great park. The playpark, the walks, and the Bouldering area was quite popular. The kids enjoyed their visit and spent a good 4 hours there including a picnic. However there is no toilet facilities which is not great. I think that needs to be changed as nowhere nearby to use facilities hence not a full 5 star rating.
S. A.
Loved this park! Loads of activities for the kids, couldn't get my boys away from the bouldering. Outdoor classroom, adventure playground, bike track. Something for all ages and stages. No perm toilets yet or place to shelter really if wet but brilliant if you get a good day. Will def be back in the summer holidays.
c. d.
Lovely walk along south bank of the Clyde. Amazingly diverse kids play areas. Very clean, well kept, semi reserved parkland.
k. A.
Very nice park for long walk and cycle track and for kids pleasure
J. D.
An excellent facility made on derelict ground.
At present the toilets are temporary portaloos.
One piece of equipment was closed off, needing repaired, the boulders very challenging. Cycling looked great fun for the children.
B. G.
Only made it to the adventure playground but this place is great! Heaps of space, good for dogs and kids, activities for adults too. Dont follow google maps and go into the residential area along sunnybank, turn on south side of river along downiebrae rd
O. A.
Great Park for toddlers more so than bigger kids once the park is finished it will have alot to offer but recommen it for the great weather we are having
J. M.
Nice wee hidden bit of Glasgow, good for walks and has a nice swing park for the kids. For the old ones there are huge rocks to climb of varying degrees of difficulty. If you have your bike with you there also a bike track with little bumps and humps, if that's too much then you can simply cycle around the whole of cuningar loop and the various paths and trails that it has. Great wee afternoon out in the open fresh air. Thumbs up.
S. e.
Stunning views and very peaceful
w. b.
Hidden gem in the east end off Glasgow see the deer & wildlife while kids can climb go round the cycle track or walk the path at the bank's off the Clyde new attractions are being built and the park is being extended.
T. C.
A young park delivered as legacy of the commonwealth games. On a cold winter morning the climbing frames are still full of small children and a few souls try to scale the climbing boulders. Needs further investigation to find all its merits but from what I have seen a welcome addition to Glasgow's large collection of ,mostly Victorian, parks.
R. T.
Excellent place to take the kids and explore, if they love climbing then there are climbing boulders that they have to workout how to get to the top. Plus theres a cafe and an ice cream van. Check satnav is taking you to the right place, can take you to the wrong side of the river.
C. C. (.
Well maintained park. Great play area for kids of all ages.
H. M.
Lovely space with a range of simple activities. The cafe and ice cream van have a great range of snacks and light meals between them. Outdoor seating only though.
A. H.
Child friendly park, play space with lots of activities for kids and adults. Only problem is the lack of parking on the day I visited most of the people in the park had travelled by car and there is limited on road parking.
C. C.
A lot remains under construction. Cat Park closed. Should be better next year when there will be plenty of things for the kids to do!
G. P.
Great walk, great play area for kids of all ages.
J. M.
Great for a slow walk to take in the wilderness and chilland relax with a tea or coffee and beverage
S. H.
Decent park and sandpit area, great bouldering problems for all levels and a small kiosk for the usual fare, ice cream, hot filled rolls, cold and soft drinks.
Lots of Giant Hogweed about the side of the water though so beware.
A. E.
Great for bigger kids. Clean area
L. M.
So much variety of things to do .lovely walks..Highly recommend this place ..great for kids age 2 and over ..a lovely sand area ..
R. P. t. b.
Only a 10 minute walk from the house, didn't even know it existed, great walk to take the dog on.
S. B.
Great little park with a cafe at weekends and holidays. Always busy though. MTB track, small pump track and bouldering. Plenty for kids too.
F. D.
Had a great day at the Jurassic dinosaur event but oh my it was a lot of walking and not enough benches along the paths. I understand the need to keep people moving, but for those with mobility issues it was a difficult and painful slog to get firstly to the entrance to the event then keep going around it, with no places to pause and rest. The loop is a tremendous place, with great access for climbers, runners cyclists and kids play. But for those of us wanting to experience the fresh air and time with our grandkids, but who have mobility issues there needs to be more rest stops along ALL paths, please?
S. B.
Had a morning out with family, plenty for the kids to do and great spaces to sit and eat a picnic lunch.
D. C.
This was our first visit here. I wish we had gone before now. This is a really great place to go with the family. Take the bikes and a picnic and have a great day out. It's difficult to believe that such a great spot lies so close to the heart of Glasgow. We will definitely be back.
A return visit today and there are lots of developments happening. The viewing tower is nearly finished. This should be really good when it opens. And there are now toilets just inside the main entrance.
C. S.
very scenic park with lovely walks and plenty to do. great for kids and adults alike. it is being maintained well and new features are being added.
F. C.
Great space for young and big kids and is always developing
H. A.
Nice park and playground unfortunately when we visited the playground was mostly under construction but got to enjoy the giant chair and climbing trees and boulders instead it was lovely, the place has so much potential for cafes etc there's one only now
G. M.
Great to see the dinosaurs, even though it was muddy. But the shops were very pricey!
A. A.
What a great facility and I enjoyed trying to make my way on and around the boulders.
E. Š.
A lovely place to stay active outdoors. Many walking and cycling paths. Takes a wee hour to just walk around it. Has a massive playground great for both children and adults. Lovely place for bouldering lovers, a few sets of rocks situated in the corner are ideal for outdoor bouldering.
z. b.
Kids love going here. Nice big park. Lots of adventures to be had.
E. R.
Had fun climbing area 1- beginners - boulders. Will work up to area 2. Busy, but not over crowded, and 10 and 11 year old grandchildren enjoyed boulders, play park and tree climbing. Pleasant walk along river and round the park. Coffee, ice cream, soft drinks and foodstuffs expensive and nothing special.
E. D.
Great outdoor experience for children and adults. Only 4 star at moment because toilets removed. This will be remedied soon as new toilets are being built. Adventure playground, rock climbing, bike track and walks. A few picnic tables would be useful.
D.
Dinosaur experience, good fun. Park and walks lovely
S.
The park was really good, very functional for all ages. Only thing I would say is that it's needing some work done as some of the climbing areas are a bit dodgy looking. Both of the zip lines were broken as well which was disappointing. We also found broken glass on the small hills upto the bridge where the kids play, we picked up what we found however there could be more. Hopefully it's in the pipeline to get these things fixed in due time. Other than that I would recommend as it's still a nice walk round with the family.
G. M.
Great place for a walk and good for cycling.
P. D. (.
Great afternoon up at the climbing spots in Cuningar Loop. Some really hard routes and it’s been awesome to get the chance to use them.
K. R.
Brilliant afternoon out with the family, hidden away at the back of Rutherglen, the huge rocks for climbing are the main reason we come here, love challenging the kids or any family and friends to reaching the top of them, great place for dog walks, a little bmx pump track and great play park for kids, good size, would recommend the visit and also returned plenty of times 😁👍
p. b.
Must see park . Remember there is new car park
S. F.
It's a fantastic place for a walk with anybody especially the kids ,plenty to do in a beautiful place ,nearly surrounded by the River Clyde!
J. M.
Nice long walk with loads of attractions. The are concrete rocks to climb and a lovely walk along the river Clyde. There is a playground and a permanent shack with food, coffee and ice cream. The rock climbing is unsupervised and needs a bit of experience and is not for small children. Mind the poisonous Giant Hogweed near the river.
M. d.
At the moment there is a lot of work being carried our but it is a lovely area to walk. If only some people would lift there dog poo especially on the walkway at the clyde spoiling it for others
L. M.
Great for walking mainly on the level. Play & bike area, seating and views along the river. No public toilets or food/drink outlet. Parking limited but wheelchair accessible. Good use of local woodland space.
m. k.
Fantastic place for all.
Great space for kids to play, cycle and generally run around. Climbing walls, swing park and picnic areas. Great little cabin selling drinks and snack foods.
R. O.
A very nice scenic place to go for walking or cycling. Kids love it too!
H.
Cunnigar loop car park and access road is shut until Easter 2023 FYI
A. M.
Great place to kill an hour or two with the kids. The play areas are suitable for a range of age groups and the climbing walls/rocks offer something a bit different. Parts of the play areas need to be repaired and the dog poo on my daughter's shoe was a bit disappointing. Other than that I would highly recommend a visit if the weather is nice.
M. C.
Fantastic regeneration of the east end of glasgow. Great fun for families. The wee cafe is also great and value for money.
G. W.
This is a lovely park hidden Gem so to speak. Hosts a play park with sand and some obstacle course type structures, Theres also a bike course with mounds and turns seem both kids and adults enjoy this however the best part is the river walk a well built path along the clydeside is enjoyable. Negative lack of toilets, Theres a snack van who sell food and drinks pretty nice to be fair.
D. L.
We love cunnigar loop. Great for all ages and interests, walks, boulders to climb, adventure playpark, bike/skate track, outdoor classroom and boardwalk down by the river where you can see people rowing often. Great day out with its own little car park (get there early if u want space).
A. T.
We're there all the time. One of the best parks. We love to climb the rock. New playground is outstanding.
M. W.
Fabulous place for kids and adults. Outdoor bouldering and great adventure playpark, brilliant bike tracks too.
N. O. B. C.
Peaceful park to have a walk alone or with your family...!!
K. M.
Nice place to give dogs a good run deposit was lifted.
R. S.
Amazing place of you haven't been here before it has bouldering also
K. C.
It is a large bush and wooded area with various clearings which may have climbing or other items for children. The toilets are just portaloos which are closed anyway but it is easy to social distance and picnic. Car parking is good at the moment but might be difficult if a large number of people arrive.
N.
Great place to go if you've got a mountain bike as there is cool little tracks for your bike. The park is in really good condition. The pathways and smooth and the climbing rock areas and Riverside decked path is always clean. The rocks are a great activity to try out.
E. B.
Great place. Can easily spend a day here. Bike tracks, boulders for climbing, play area, walk or skate round the park, picnic lunch. No snack vans or toilets (portaloos) open right now but you're just across from a retail park that has a Tesco & Starbucks.
M. d. A.
Nice place, amazing for children to spend very good moments with their parents
G. P.
Great place to spend a few hours with kids. Nice and flat so good when teaching kids to go their bikes. Both the pump and mtb tracks are small so good for those learning the basics. The adventure play area is great for kids of all ages with lots of climbing and balancing equipment.
R. C.
Its dry underfoot which was what I was looking for and I didn't want to get muddy again! There were quite a few families and dog walkers but once we got a bit away from the entrance it got quieter. We went across the bridge and walked along the Clydewalkway for about 20 mins and back.... took about 2 hours.... lovely walk! Great for kids.
I. M.
Bit tricky to get into as Google maps took us to a dead end in an industrial estate. Got there in the end though and it was really good. Good playpark for kids and a nice food van next to it
A. H.
Great place to visit with lots to do. The toilet facilities are a bit too basic though.
I. M.
My sister and I walked here along the river path from Cambuslang, we really appreciated all the cyclists using their bells to warn us but a few we felt were going too fast on a route that is used by families. It was a lovely day weather wise and some rowers were out on the river , the loop itself is great for everyone and we enjoyed the board walk
E. M.
Very nice park and playing area. It is still young, but it is growing very well. Children can do a lot: cycling, running, "free climbing", or just enjoying the standard play ground and the park, which is next to the Clyde river. It is a bit far for us, but definitely a place to go again.
i. b.
Great for the kids cycling and climbing fun and big play park
C. M.
A really nice park with lots of things to do considering the relatively small size. Some redevelopment work going on at the moment so will be interesting to see what comes of it.
B. “. A. M.
Love this Park and all its bounty. Beautiful at this time of year with tree blossom and wild flowers. Well worth a visit. Family friendly play areas for kids, cycle paths, climbing boulders, and riverside walks that are wheelchair accessible. Sadly, the cafe/van has not appeared this year. Basic portakabin toilets on the way in to the park.
K. T.
Nice space for kids to cycle, skoot and run around. Wooden playpark. Currently parking is on main road and playpark is a 10 to 15 minute walk away
R. S.
Great park for taking bikes and scooters for the kids ( and adults!) Also have climbing areas for children, different sized walls . Its a clean and smooth park , kids love it here .
C. K.
Great place to walk about. Kids play park looks good fun. Only thing which I'm surprised it doesn't have is rubbish bins or bins for dog poop.
T. C.
Excellent park with a few walks, would be really nice if you get good weather when you visit. There is a play park for the kids, and a few rocks to climb on along with a bike track for smaller kids. There was an ice cream van and a small cafe which looks really nice and smelled great. Few downsides are, there are only portaloos for toilets which didn't look very clean and the parking isn't great as there was no dedicated car park, there was only on street parking.
S.
Great Park, shame the toilets are never open
A. N.
This is a good park for the kids to go to, it's completely outdoors and so it can get muddy. There is a good range of frames for kids of all ages and the park itself is big. There is skate and bike parks in the park as well. Close to the park is a small coffee shop that sells rolls, sandwiches and other food.
J. D.
It's a nice park. Good for bikes with a couple of different tracks to use. There are specially placed boulders of different sizes for big and small climbers. There is always an ice cream next to the wee cafe in the middle of the park. It's a good place for a wonder round whatever the weather but it won't take you long
B. (.
Hey wot can I say apart from I'm here nearly every other day and it's absolutely one of the best places to go on a mild or even rainy day so don't wait for the sum get out in the fresh air asap and get walking / jogging running or cycling as soon as you get the chance !
It's one of the best initiatives the governments done as far as I'm concerned totally revamped this whole area and it's surroundings to do this side of the city justice and I must say they have made a marvelous job in recreating a little bit of forestry paradise for all who want to adventure and experience it .
It's well planned out and will keep you busy with the kids like nowhere I can think of for miles that's for sure !
I have stopped at the little centre and had Ice - cream and water when it's a little hot to handle as the sun on its brightest days can catch you out if your not prepared ..
Take plenty of water with you or use the venues on offer for refreshments and other food and beverages
I would highly recommend this to you and your family members
It won't disappoint that's for sure 😎👍👊
M. C.
New Park in Glasgow which I believe was the site where the "athletes village" was located at time of commonwealth games. Got nice walks... Great play park for the kids.. (lots of sand here too). Outdoor climbing rocks of different difficulty levels... A bike track with ramps... And a small take away food place (at reasonable prices). The only minor fault, which I believe will be rectified soon, is no proper toilet facilities. Just now it's a couple of portaloos. They were fairly clean though, as far as this style of toilet goes. It's definitely worth a visit, whether you have kids or not.
A. P.
Stunning evening. Lovely scoot round the park. New play area is really good.
P. L.
Walk here alot with my wee westie, lovely and clean, nice scenery too.
E. P.
I'm not a massive fan of this park, I personally think its suited to older kids, lots of climbing activities & a tiny swing park, the new car park is a bonus but the stone road to get to it was terrible, felt like it was ripping the car tyres apart. There used to be a cafe & ice cream van but sadly these are no longer there & it's quite a distance to the nearest shop so come prepared. There are portable toilets available.
J. M.
Great fun but take some snacks and drinks......cafe not open all yr
G. H.
Lovely walk. Car park closed but no signs that public can't access park until you walk all the ways up from the main road and walk through car park!
E. T.
A pretty quiet area for walking the dog along the Clydeside walkway, through wooded paths and open greens. Plenty of equipment for kids to play on; climbing frames, bouldering mounds, a massive chair, bmx pump track and swings.
L. G.
Lovely place for a dog walk but unfortunately the car park always seems to be closed and there always seems to be some kind of construction work going on.
Y. H.
Great park for kids and cycling
E. D.
We visited with two children, one 5 and one 3. Nice walk from the car park to the play area. There is a nice section of the park for bikes and scooters. The only thing missing from here on a personal level is an ev charging point.
M. N.
This place is a wonder, feels nature, one can almost forget it's so near the city centre, what with the rive around.
L. H.
Such a wonderful park in a great urban space. Loads for the kids in the park area, climbing zone and scooter or skate area. Plus nice walk
K. W.
Very quiet at any time. Amazing!
d. b.
Magic wee park. My kids love the bmx course and the big slide. Would be better if the zip line was repaired and the toilets be left unlocked for public use
D. B.
Good place to walk in poor weather as the paths are good
Under delelopment and repair so parking limited at the moment.
B. B.
Had read an article saying that the new sign posts had been installed. Very easy to see and lots of them to follow to take you to their car park and then to the park.
Definitely an asset to the area. It has been so well planned by the Forestry Commission and once you have been, you will most definitely return.
There are some activities for everyone to try. Each area has been well signposted and gives clear instructions on how to maximise your experience.
The swing took my adult weight....no problem, as did the zip slide.
Also managed to manoeuvre over some of the wooden structures and had an attempt at the beginner's boulders!!! Managed one small pull up and realised my upper body strength requires some work.
The paths around the park are easy on your feet and spot some of the metal artwork and the story telling ring. Full of hidden nooks that youngsters will love to explore.
Spent an hour and could have been longer.
Amazing park.
K. A.
Great place to take kids, cycle track and adventure playground. Also big rocks to climb on for adults. There is a bike track with minor hills and almost jumps, great for kids if all ages on their bikes.
L. N.
Great playground. Good hiking trails. However, zip line and swings missing!
A. J.
Visited with husband and daughter too see the Dinosaurs when they were there. Lovely family day out. Will be better when carpark reopens.
K. C.
Great fun for all ages. Has climbing rocks and a bike track and woodland activities and fitness courses. Defo recommend this place! if you haven't been its a must do!
M. J.
Very nice park with plenty of attractions
N.
Park is beautiful and has lovely walking trails we went to see the dinosaur exhibition that was on but would definitely visit the park again
I. W.
First time back for a year. First went when planting had just finished and now growing well. Good to see very little damage and no litter. Lots for little ones (and bigger ones) to do. Very peaceful.
L. C.
Really nice walk on a nice sunny cold morning 🌄. Paths are well maintained and clean which makes it ideal for any weather.
A. R.
A fantastic hidden gem close to Glasgow. The new addition of a car park is a huge bonus, with a walkway directly into the park.
A place full of adventure and play. Sturdy wooden play equipment, secret tunnels, skate park and climbing boulders. You could spend hours here.
It’s such a shame that the wee cafe is shutting in Oct 18. It has been a great little place to stop for coffee, food or even an ice cream.
C. M.
Great place for kids to play. Excellent park, lots of space to run around and brilliant for balance bikes and cycling. It's busy so parking can be a challenge
U. D.
Nice park to relax and enjoy your day or weekend. Lovely view, walkway over Clyde as well as bicycle roads for those cyclists.
There is a free car park.
J. L.
It's such a great place loads to do. Boulders provide hours and hours of fun, get into it. Mountain bike area is great for beginners too. Wildlife is worth stopping and taking in.
W.
Great for a short dog walk. Nice boardwalk running above the river bank. Good snacks at The Wee Cabin though it is up for sale so I don't know what it's future is at the Loop.
D. W.
Great day out for all ages
D. M. (.
Excellent park for children on bikes, great pump tracks for improving ability and longer trails throughout. Large outdoor boulders are a great challenge for older children, smaller ones would be great too..
S. J.
Love this wee walk, people always very friendly we pass, park up, walk round the park walk down to glasgow green via the clydeside beautiful views and amazing wildlife if you keep your eyes open, go early to see Deers and foxes! Any time for ducks swans cormorants, bull finches king finches smallest bird in the uk.. could go on go see for yourself its brilliant! Ps no toilet facilities just now.
S. M.
Love it. Great when you have a big age gap between kids you take. Bring your bike or better yet, cycle there. The food is also acceptable. I was surprised to see options almond, coconut and soya milk. Wow
V.
Would be even better on a sunny day, nonetheless we enjoyed the nice walk through the park, with my 15 months old daughter. Definitely coming back with our bikes for some fun.
A. K.
I visited this park with my niece yesterday. We were both very upset that yet again there has been no consideration taken into account for our young disabled children. She can not climb or run like able bodied children but ,with help she is able to access slides where we are able to climb up with her, not possible in this park. Could you not consider putting wheel chair acssesible swings and round abouts in this area? I'm sure if you included children with disabilities and their parents and adults alike in your plans the park would become acessible to all people in our society. Social inclusion springs to mind.
M.
Visited for the Jurassic Experience. Excellent day out and the kids loved it. A lovely little park utilising space that would otherwise be wasted.
J. A.
Some good bike trails to practice on.
Has lots of rock climbing boulders to choose from was impressed!
Loads of activities for children too.
R. T.
Awesome woodland park it's not that big but there is a lot in the small space. There is a good sized play park with zip slides, BMX track, bouldering (rock climbing), and a couple of woodland walks with a river side walk way.
D. M.
Great wee hidden gem, lovely walks, cycle track, Clydeside boardwalk, childrens play area, climbing stones and toilet facilites inc disabled (currently out of use due to covid) car park. Highly recommended
A. M.
Great park for cycling - especially later on in the day when it's quieter. Climbing rocks are great for all experience levels.
u. _.
Outdoor climbing, bike track for kids plus play park. Nice little cafe and ice cream van. Lovely walk. Really great place if you have young kids.
N. M.
Pleasantly surprised by the park. New equipment for kids was great and the walk around the park was pleasant. Connects with the former Commonwealth game's athlete's village and is very impressive development.
J.
Great place for kids with varied apparatus for all ages. Would get 5 stars but no public toilet.
D. B.
This place is great for the kids. Plenty of tracks for the bikes, a boardwalk down by the Clyde and a big playpark built on a sandpit.
S. F.
Excellent park with lots of different amenities. Most paths are either tarmac or wooden planking so you can have a decent walk here even after heavy rain and not get too muddy.
F. O.
In the good weather get up there with your family. Beautiful with plenty for kids to do.
Great fun. Great walk. Come ye all
A. H.
Nice lunch from the wee cabin, a small cycle from the city center
M. L.
I went down for some bouldering, although I only did a few routes because it was bloody freezing!
There are loads of routes, split up into different areas, based on ability. This would be, easily, the most sensible way to construct such a park; making it easier to choose your climbs.
If you're going, make sure to bring a bouldering mat because it's essentially gravel which surrounds the boulders.
There are, by my count, 8 on-street parking spaces, of which 2 are reserved for the disabled. If you're going at peak times, you might be better taking the train.
There are anchors on top of at least some climbs for inexperienced or disabled climbers (which is a great thing to do!) although I haven't checked all of them.
Despite my gripes about parking I think this easily deserves 5 stars because it's so accessible, not just climbing-wise, but as a place to get to easily without much walking.
Highly recommended by a slightly experienced climber!
K. R.
Great park! loads of things for the kids to do on foot, bikes, scooters etc lots of hidden bits to explore and space to bring a picnic blanket and have some lunch.
A. C.
Very good for a family day out and there's lots of space for children to run about in the big park. There are so many different paths to take. You can go out on a wooden side walk next to the clyde.
S. M.
Great woodland Place for a walk with the kids. Only minor gripe I have is the best parts of the adventure play park weren't available... The funnel was closed for repair and both rope slides were missing
s. s.
An excellent day spent with my friend Catherine here at Cuningar Loop.
L. W.
Not the biggest of parks, takes no more than half an hour to walk round but the views are pleasant and there's free parking. Would be nice in the summer and good for walking the dog
D. M.
Nice public park, has a bit of everything from cycling track to bouldering area and a good kids play park. Look forward to when the trees have matured so it feels like a forest trail
J. M.
Nice views and interesting sculptures. Has car park and play area for children including a rock climbing wall and bmx park.
K.
Lovely bit of wilderness in the city. Super place for kinds with bike track. , plsypark and climbing walls. New car park. Arty things to look for and Broadway along the Clyde going past the commonwealth village. Views of Emirates Stadium and Celtic Park.
P. H.
Wonderful community park with excellent bouldering area and access from Glasgow green via Clyde walkway. Kids love this place.
R. S.
Great place for kids to relax an grandparents alike spacious, things to do, an room to move.. Even when busy u can still breathe
J. C.
Great place for a family walk and let the kids take their bikes and play in the park. Kids love it.
M. W.
Brilliant day out for kids all ages. Climbing rocks brilliant. Bring a bike or scooter. Visited today and the cafe seems to have been removed. Pity.
M. P.
Dinosaur encounter. Brilliant although dinosaurs were either defaced or old as all teeth were missing along with some eyes. Epstein didn't kill himself...
G.
Great pump track here, only set back would be the ammount of small children on it, which makes it difficult to do anything major on it, but thats completely fine. Theres a slightly bigger track beside it with two tabletop jumps, which realistically you would only jump the second one since theyre so close together.
Great place all in all.
If you get bored of the pump track you can go bouldering which is amazing with all skill levels carered for. (and free ofcourse).
A. W.
Beautiful place in all weathers. Great for kids, families, dog walkers, runners, walkers and cyclists. A real hidden gem 💎
S. B.
Lovely wee place for kids & walking dogs. Well maintained. Defo worth a visit if close by.
M. P.
Great experience for all ages
D. L.
Really difficult to find and not really finished yet (Aug 16). Looks like it will be a pleasant place and somewhere for the kids to run about and climb on h rocks and trees. Nice walk on the boardwalk round by the Clyde, suitable for all ages.
D.
Good walk and fun park for kids. Only issue is the entrance to the new car park is in pretty poor condition and tyres can flick up stones.
G. P.
Brilliant place for adults and children especially the latter. Was really busy at weekends. Would recommend a visit. Parking a bit limited at weekend.
A. L.
Live just across the River. More park than garden with major extension project on going... with new building / bothy and viewing tower being built.
R. W. (.
Great Park for a walk for the kids to play or climb. Needs some work done on access roads due to major potholes
A. M.
Kids love it. Good for children and you can bring your dog. The climbing stones and the bike track are fab
L. G.
Love this park ,great bike track for my oldest boy and brilliant adventure park for the wee one

Cunnigar Loop is a fantastic park to take your Children/Gran Children, slides/swings/climbing frames/ lots more, well maintained park, even take your dogs there is plenty of bins situated around the whole place, I would Highly Recommend, Cunnigar Loop, Five Star Rated
S. D.
Great place for the kids to have a scoot or bike. Wonderful playpark. Only downside is lack of toilets but 10mins from a big Tesco if you need to go.
G. V.
There's loads of things to do like climbing rocks or rams for bikes. But in the mean time it is quite peaceful too. Beautiful park.
G.
Great park for the kids and not a bad little walk if you aren't looking for a long walk.
A. M.
Great wee park something different, pushing not the best and could do with a bit more easier activities as a lot of the adventure stuff is pretty difficult for most kids
J. R.
Love the loop, only thing that would make it better is an enclosed dog park. The cafe is lovely but a bit over priced, the grounds are very well maintained and amply amount of seats and bins.
J. C.
The concrete boulders here are worth a visit. Time spent exploring and developing your own problems will be rewarded. Plenty to do for all grades. Avoid on sunny days when the schools are off!
S. C.
Nice place for a relaxing walk
D. K.
One of Glasgow's best kept secrets (from parents at least).
There is a new car park close to the BMX track. Google maps will give you the wrong driving directions. Keep south of the river and there are big signs.
M. A.
Very quite , clean and full of nature a beautiful park with many track for walk and cycle . Play area for kids
G.
Situated next to the River Clyde running along through Dalmarnock in Glasgow this park is an outdoor area Glasgow should be proud of. Newly opened recently I decided to take my daughter to find out what it was like. Beautiful riverside walkways give a peaceful walk and there are plenty of climbing structures and things dfor kids to occupy themselves with. Also on site there are food vans to grab a bite to eat or a cold drink. This is a great investment in the east end of Glasgow and sits well in the midst of lots of local "regeneration"
J. F.
This open space managed by the Forestry Commission has recently been turned in to an adventure area with mountain bike trails, climbing boulders and woodland walks, also sports a play area for the kids, there are no permanent toilets as yet (May 2016) bit there are portable toilet units, as of Summer 2016 a new weathered steel and timber footbridge will take pedestrians to and from the park over to the former athletes village.
S.
All good, pleasant for a walk alongside river.
S. B.
Lovely park with excellent play area for kids. It will be incredible when all the young trees grow in. This is a great use of space.

K. C.
This has just recently been renovated and opened to the public, some work is still going on but for the most part the Woodland area is up and running, there is a lovely walk around the River Clyde that even the unfit among us can do easily, a adventure playground that the kids and some adults enjoy immensely, a small cafe that has and extensive and healthy menu to chose from at mostly reasonable prices.
C. M.
Regenerated area in the east end of Glasgow, with boardwalks along the Clyde, play areas, boulder climbing and track area for bikes. Lots of seats/benches for us oldies!
J. M.

Fantastic place to take kids. Plenty of out door space to run about and adventure playground is very popular.
A. A.
A fantastic addition to the dear green place which we all know and love as Glasgow. We hopped on the train to Dalmarnock and walked through the former Commonwealth games athletes village (a shining example of how much better social housing can be over lowest common denominator boring private developer's efforts) to this park. A very pleasant surprise with so much to offer for a wide range of interests. Go there and you'll wish you lived on its doorstep. Afterwards a pleasant Clydeside walk will take back to the city centre.
W. W.
