Reviews of Queen's Park
C. S.
A scenic and calm site!!
It's luxuriant with greenery, beautiful trees, ample space to play, walk, jog. We absolutely love going there and our fur baby loves it too! He gets to meet lots of furry friends there.
N. M.
One of my favourite parks in Glasgow. Some of the most beautiful trees and lovely place to meditate and in previous years, sunbathe!
Manageable for people with limited mobility (if you use a stick or crutches there's good short walks if you get sore and lots of benches). I really do love this park and it has beautiful flowers blooming now. Definitely recommend.
A. B.
Great place for walk. We usually go there for evening walk and its always busy. Very big area full of greenery. Great place to take kids to play at their own. A small pond full with ducks gives a great view.
S.
Peaceful park that's easy to get to. Great to take family, cycle, and walk dogs. The top has nice views. It's pleasant all year round.
M. G.
Park like not other. Lots of space for kids to run And play.
Pond with lots of ducks.
Hill with Old trees. Beautiful meadows for picnics.
A. M.
Beautiful park in centre of Glasgow southside. Very busy with dog walkers and runners in morning. Great walks for every ability to walk and run.
R. S.
Forget how nice this park is and there are plenty places to explore within. Coffee / snack van with ice creams too next to the pond. Also a greggs just up the road. 5 minutes walk. Great day out for the family. Doing extra activities through summer too.
J. B.
I was taken there when I was Child and I fell in love with the place, there was a boating pond in use at the time.
The park is well looked after and it has spacious ground for your to walk around and explore.
Sadly the boating pond has not been available for hiring a boat, it has been like this due to health and safety regulations.
It is very sad that this no longer exists for families to enjoy themselves.
The park is still worth visiting and enjoying lying in the sun, you would think that you are not in the city it's that peaceful.
S. M.
Beautiful sunny evening spent at Queen’s Park! Had pizza from a neighbouring pizzeria!
О. М.
Very beautiful and cozy place. Big space for your activities. Playgrounds, a lake where you can feed the birds, many lawns, cozy paths for walking and jogging, sports grounds and benches for rest. Everyone can find a place for themselves here.
J. R.
It's a lovely park and very popular for the whole of Glasgow's Southside. It has its own duckpond/ice -skating pond (if you're lucky to visit on a rare day it's frozen over) and you can often find the swans there.
At the top/east of the park is the flagpole viewpoint, with a steep walk up to the top. It provides beautiful panoramic views of Glasgow as well as the distant Kilpatrick hills and hills at the Southern edges of Loch Lomond. Well worth being out of puff for.
The park has various sports fields including a small golf course and bowling green
The park does not currently have any public toilets.
There are various points of access to the park by foot, but no dedicated car park. There is some onstreet parking but note that much of the local area is metred or permit parking.
m. m.
I love this park! Even on a rainy day the views of the city are amazing. It perfect for any age. It has a large and small duck pond next to the large kids play park, a small kids play park near the flag pole, loads of flowers and woodland area. There are areas to play sports- tennis, football etc. There are lawn bowls and a golf area (with the golf course being used mainly as a semi enclosed space for dog walkers).
Sad that the glass house is still closed for maintenance as it has been years now :( used to visit several times a week when the kids were younger.
V. Y.
Serene place to take a stroll around the pond which has lot of ducks. It also has play area and flagpole from where a good city view can be beheld
m.
Not been here much since my childhood days, but it’s a nice place to go while we’re in partial lockdown. It’s a large sprawling English style park with many walkways, both paved and unpaved through wooded areas. The park has a pond, greenhouse and a rose garden, the latter dedicated to Scottish poets. Nice place for some walking.
A. R.
Queens park is such an amazing place,. I do photography as a hobby and I got really good pictures. It's great as well for kids and animals.
A. E.
Parking available around Park. Nice View from Flagpole
G. L.
This is beautiful spacious park.. that is a perfect escape in the summer and the winter. And ideal retreat for Dog walkers and with its stunning views of the entire City its an amateur photographers playground.
J. M.
Very quiet and peaceful place to reconnect with mother nature. Lots of friendly squirrels which come close to touching distance. This park is ideal for kids as it has play areas and also for brisk walks, jogging or cycling.
T. W.
Great Park in the southside with some excellent views across the city. Remember to wear clothes if you are visiting.
L. G.
Lovely park for a walk or run but very hilly...lovely big pond in it with swans plus a few swing parks...
A. W.
Extremely calming place for quick run or meditation or yoga practice. Well maintained park with a small pond.. Ducks playing ..breezy areas.. With many flowers plants and perfect spots for chilling and jogging tracks.
V.
Nice big green space in the city. Rarely too crowded, even on the sunniest of days. Regular fitness/boxing/muai Thai classes at the bandstand to try and can sign up if you like it. Fireworks displays on guy fawkes night too, nice community feel. If you're looking for somewhere to chill on a sunny day, Queen's park is highly recommended
M. z.
Perfect place, Where you can stay, go jogging, walking and watch the beautiful scenery
M. U.
Beautiful park with something for everyone. For sports lover there is Cricket ground, basketball court, small ground for football and tennis court. Ideal for jogging with beautiful Glasgow city view from top.
d. c.
Used to go to Queens park a lot years ago when I stayed in Shawlands but don't really frequent it much these days. My brother works in the tennis courts there so cycled by to say hello to him. Lots of fond memories of taking my daughter there in her first couple of years of life but like most parks and and green spaces in Glasgow, it's a bit neglected and run down and not maintained. I'm sure the usual excuses of Covid, short staffed and cutbacks will be the excuse for the state of parks etc in Glasgow but they"be been like that way longer than the problems caused by the pandemic and cutbacks of the last couple of years🤨
S. A.
Lovely park with fantastic views of Glasgow.
g. s.
A very big park, had spent good time in the park.. People used to do jogging, cycling, walking and little hiking as well.. and it has a beautiful view from flag pole..
Also, the park has playground
K. F.
Queens park is wonderful place to enjoy and spend some good moments at evening you can get sports activities as well. overall it's Amazing.
D. K.
Awesome place for a walk, play area for children, and adults as well, swans in the ponds makes u forget all your tensions and feel refresh
A.
Beautiful park for timeout and walk or just sit on the benches...
Breath n take in the beauty of this serene park
K.
Beautiful, spacious park and very dog friendly
C. A.
Lovely park. Lots of space for dogs to run about. Some real mucky bits but that's too be expected at this time of year. Only way they child improve it IMO would be paw wash at the gates. 🐾 …
M. M.
Nice park with one of the best views over the city. It's especially pretty in spring, lots of flowers are blooming.
M. S.
Great to get out for a walk and enjoy the great weather. I had not been in the park for over 20 years, however it was just as active and we'll looked after as I remembered. Nice combination of hills and flat areas depending on how active you want to be. Very nice food truck at the pond
D. F.
Good place to walk around between nature. So many paths that lead us all around the park
M. R.
This is a great park and I hadn't realised its size even though I have driven past it many times. The snow really can make you do some funny things and so it was that sledging in the park was the order of the day when I visited. There is a pond, great paths and fantastic views of the city. I will be back for a more leisurely wander about rather than the speed demon I was during snow week!
J. D.
It's a great park to wander round and chill out! Definitely worth a visit.
M. A.
Such beautiful and inspiring place that you can take a deep breath that relax your mind
E. M.
Great park with awesome views all the way to Ben Lomond on a clear day, great walking routes of varying difficulties.
J. B.
Great park! Pity Glasgow City Council have currentky rented the bandstand area out..a public space..to some private events company and now there is a big ugly fenced off eye sore bang in the middle of it
G. C.
Winter walk in great South Side park in Glasgow. Great views from the high point in the middle. So much wildlife to see.
E. D.
Great place to walk in the south side of Glasgow. Bowling club and really nice yew trees
L. S.
The Mrs wanted to get tickets for the tennis final at the bandstand. I wasnt keen but it turned out a great way to watch the final. Took our own seats great view of the screen, cheeky Pimms for her wee cold cider for me, not too shabby.
Weather helped big time, slip, slap, slop for these things
S. Z.
just jogging from city center to Queen’s park. It is more than bigger than the park near the UoG.
And there is a pool in the north-west. There is also a hill. Anyway, it is a great place for children to play and have a rest!🏃♀️ it is about 1 miles away from Asda. After jogging , I went there to buy foods!
E. B.
Such a lovely park.
M. S.
Very beautiful and quiet. Great place to bring the family.
M. S.
Drinks system is useless because you can't get to a bar, we had tickets that we couldn't use, the toilets were well maintained and restocked but the hand washers stopped working, it was a gig and I appreciate they can't cater to all tastes but no irn bru or diet irn bru was disappointing.
A. E.
I have been there at 2016, I really liked this gorgeous place.
a. m.
The park was the scene of many a childhood adventure 50+ years ago, and it's still full of charm (and adventure) when I take the grandkids :)
e. n.
Lovely park with plenty of seating and nice band stand which I can imagine would be delightful in the summer
A. D.
Lovely place to stroll and walk a dog. Please pick up after your pet and keep the park clean from trash.
M. G.
A nice and green place to roam around this lockdown. Wish we could have gone little earlier, it was dark soon.
J. D.
Lovely park for outdoor sports
D. H.
Brilliant park. Has two large ponds with plenty of wildlife to see and glass houses which host a range of exotic animals.
Great for a walk, sunbathing, or enjoying time in a pleasant atmosphere.
B. T.
Beautiful, vibrant Autumn light and colours - especially as the sun broke through the morning fog.
A. S.
An awesome place for a stroll, jog and family time. Ample green space .... positive vibes.
G. R.
Freezing, but lots of people out for exercise. Plus a brave young girl ice skating on the Boating pond
G. G.
Amazing park.
Lots of trees And big Space.
Perfect for kids.
H. M.
Very nice park. Some good views.
B. B.
I adore Queens Park.
It's got everything a park should have.
Good for the Mons too.
L. M.
Beautiful, and the best bandstand/arena in Glasgow.
J. C.
Nice park. Visited in October so the trees looked nice with their Autumn colours. Found a reptile house within the garden/greenhouse area which was cool. Lots of dog walkers here.
A. M.
Such a good park! I went to get a tattoo and my husband was looking for somewhere to go with our pup while they waited.
Park was lovely and clean, lovely van for icecream, drinks and food.
L. A. J.
Very nice place to escape from the city and enjoy the landscapes.
A. W.
Nice park quiet with plenty of wildlife to admire
M.
i had a LoveLy waLk that day. on America's 9/11. greatday managed to get 14300 steps by midnight and smash my 14ksteps goaL
A. B.
Great park with fantastic views over the city.
D. S. (. B.
Place if my childhood but a shadow of its glory years due to lack of care, funding and Maintenance. Still a good south side place for a nice stroll.
C. H.
Brilliant park for anything
k. s.
Good place to spend time jogging or just enjoying the place. Two swans are the main attraction here.
T. M.
Beautiful place in the summer, it can be rather busy at times though
C. T.
Very popular park in the Southside. My dog loves it.
V. P.
Not as beautiful as it was portrayed to be in the photos and by the general public. March was probably not a good time for a visit as there were no signs of spring yet in the park. The swan pond was unkempt with buns floating on it and food laying around on the sides. Giving credit where it's due, it was cleaned the next time I passed by the pond (a few hours later). The park has no toilet facilities but has quite a few cafes and restaurants right outside if you fancy a picnic.
B. S.
Best park on the world!
D. R.
Local park with great views of the city. Also home to the skip of plenty although last time it was full of rubbish and the nearby, what are people thinking?
W. d.
Beautiful park, especially the Scots poets Rose garden.great views over Glasgow.
C. K.
Currently the lake is frozen and people can ice-skate
N. S.
Pond is filthy dirty and you could smell it. There was also litter about the park.
K. Z.
Very busy. Lots of people. Ducks and swans. View point flagpole.
C. E.
Play park for kids, duck pond, sometimes an ice cream van when the sun is out!
B. M.
Such a beautiful park. Well worth a visit.
m.
Lovely park you can get lost
G. K.
Where is the queen? Love that park!! Really nice view!! Lovely swans 🦢 …
M. M.
Lovely green space. Plenty places to get away from the crowds if you fancy a quiet space
S. G.
Love this Park. Been going here for years. Really nice walks, play parks and near to Nice cafes and bars. Really wish that they hadn't closed the glass house (like every other one... Apart from the west end, thank you Glasgow City Council).
s. a.
Beautiful park
but the pond of the bird has awful smell and dirty water
R. C.
Lovely park with a nice pond, five a side football and a nice cafe where you can take your dog.
T. Q.
Been going here in and off for some time. The view from the top is quite spectacular and can see many Glasgow landmarks miles away. The local visitors are friendly and often say hi. The park itself is quite scenic with a few places to visit and different facilities. One of the better parks.
N. M.
Lovely park, you walk in and soon the traffic noise is all but snuffed out, lovely trees and shrubs, peaceful hidden spots amongst the trees, great view from the top and has a great feel to it. As city parks go its really good.
W. B.
Beautiful park. Great for dog walkers. Wee play area for kids and a duck pond. Lovely on a sunny day.
T. B.
This is a beautiful park it's not usually overly busy plenty of paths and the squirrels take nuts right out of your hand they are sooo cute it's a great park for a walk and the colours of the leaves in autumn are beautiful it has a large pond with loads of ducks and swans
J. S.
Nice place and during winter people come ice skating here
A. S.
The council has really cleaned Queens Par it has a good sizes section fenced off to make a child and family play area & you canot just dump your kids in this area and go off there must be a responsable adult with the child/children. There is also a new cafe area further down the park where the old wc's used to be on Pollokshaws rd
A. B.

Just over 2 miles from the centre the park is a wonderful lung for Shawlands. It's amazing that in entering the park you have little to indicate the how high an elevation it has. Great views over the city.
D. R.
A beautiful park full of dogs and locals. The council should invest in level paving though, as the paths aren't very accessible or comfortable for wheelchair users.
K. M.
Went there on a Sunday afternoon to play chess in the park. Thanks to Govanhill chess club for organising the games.
M. T.
Omg, in those days when is very hot outside and everything melting, a little trip in this park full of Oxigen is like a heaven spot.
l. g.
Great place to escape the crazy city life, with great scenery lots for greenery fields and a pond. Relax or exercise this place will sure be a pleasant visit. I love running with my dog whilst taking in the natural beauty.
S. K.
A very beautiful park for family walks
S. G.
Queens park is a lovely busy park.
There is a great collection of wildlife in the pond and on the island. The flower displays are stunning, carpets of crocus a few weeks ago now myriads if daffodils.
Tennis courts, children's play area and I've seen boxing tuition going on too. From the flagpole on s good day you can see across the city and beyond b
D. H.
Lovely park. Great open spaces. Kids park is good. Ducks and swans at the pond. Great for a run.
D. B.
A great local park. My son loves it here - plenty of places to explore, paths for cycling, playparks, outdoor gym, ponds and open grassy bits. Also great in the winter for sledging.
L. M.
I love this park it's very spacious so you can always find a quite spot to sit it can get quite busy on hot days but as it said before you can find a quite spot if you want , the park itself is very well looked after beautiful trees to look at and the pond is lovely just to sit and look at .
G. W.
Pond looked as though hadn't been cleaned for ages...full of litter and debris...also clogged with green algae.
J. C.
Nice Park with a hilly feeling about it as there's a large area that you can go uphill where there's lots of trees and there's a viewing area at the top where you can see pretty much all around Glasgow from the campsies in the North to the catkin braes in the south. There are flatter areas of course to walk around incase you have issues walking up a slope. I've seen nicer ponds than the one in here but it's not too bad. Got a play area for children, didn't see too many benches but maybe I just didn't notice them. All in all a great park, one of the best in Glasgow
S. P.
The park provides great views over Glasgow.. however the glasshouse is in need of repair.
L. H. T. N. H.
Handy local park great for dogs & kids x
T. J.
The park covers an entire hill with mixed terrainwhere some parts are just long stretches of green grass, while other parts have dense but beautiful trees, ponds, play areas, green house. The top of the hill gives an amazing view of Glasgow as well. A good place for everyone.
B. K.
Fantastic park. Probably one of the best in Glasgow. Spoiled only by the usual problem of out of control or downright aggressive dogs off the leash. It's a problem that seems to be getting steadily worse across all parks. People buying dogs during lockdown? Hearing the constant excuses of 'he's not normally like this' or 'he's just being friendly'.
L. S.
I grew up going to this park and it's a long time since I've been back but, wow! So clean and peaceful and then the best surprise ever. Mum n dad swans sitting on the grass with their seven signets whom they then led slowly and carefully to the wee pond with the few people around videoing and taking pics from a distance. Made my summer. Go, respect it and enjoy ☺
J. B.
So a nice view over glasgow.
C. T.
I've been going to Queen's Park for as long as I can remember. I used to take my three daughters there to feed the swans and ducks when they were toddlers. They are now in their 20s and one just over 30, so while I'm getting older too it doesn't stop me going for a walk or a cycle through the park. A friend and I have just started to try the tennis, it's great for excercise and getting some fresh air, but unfortunately it took its toll as I have started to get knee trouble. Maybe I should just stick to cycling.
S. B.
Great parkrun, good shared space used by several different groups. Parkrun volunteers welcoming and encouraging. Well done
C. C.
Nice, clean park with plenty of shops and cafes in the surrounding areas for refreshments.
R. P.
Nice big park, could do with a bit more in the wsy of food/drinks in the park although plenty outside
V. D.
A gem within Glasgow. So much to do and see. Have things like tennis and bowls. Gym type apparatus and kids play areas. Plenty of space to walk, cycle, have picnics etc. Good for animals. Great for all ages. Has other activities and easily accessible. Go up to the Viewpoint to see across Glasgow.
K. T.
A great park with two playparks. One for very young children and a larger park near the Brodies entrance on kilmarnock road. A parkrun park (Saturday at 9am meeting near bandstand), boating pond and activities during the summer at bandstand. Tennis courts and wooded areas too
A.
Ducks, swans, seagulls, kids, playpark, boating pond, bowling, tennis, pitch and putt, Goal (football), glass houses (temporarily closed), allotments, remains of iron age structure, flagpole/viewpoint, lots of trees, grass, flowers, squirrels, benches, parking and shops nearby. Litter bins overflowing is an on-going issue which I wish the council would seriously address/rectify. Beautiful safe place to walk/jog/run/ sit in/wander round.
A. C.
TONS of grass. Quite a few trees. Nice pond.
Solid bit of parking.
P. D.
Nice mixture of walks from simple flat circular walk to uphill steep walk. Plenty of dog walking space. Nice pond with ducks and swans. Tennis courts, basketball court, bowling , outdoor exercise equipment. Childrens play areas.
R. F.
Great park with a nice variety of terrain and rarely very busy. It’s bigger than it initially looks, which is helped with the significant height difference between the middle of the park and the outlying/street levels areas.
Slight negative is the way in which council vehicles are used in the park - generally too fast given its main use is for dogs, children and cycling, and too much (not really any need to drive a large vehicle to each bit to empty it - more suitable vehicles could be employed).
N.
I walked my dog here almost everyday for two years. The park itself is quite a nice especially in the summer. There is a small pond which can do with being cleaned. I would avoid the park at night, the park has a bad reputation for crime. If you stick to the main paths you should be fine.
K. S.
Good park and has many things in it to explore; open fields, gardens, and a large pond. Yet it is abit of a need of better care with overgrown lawns.
C. C.
Enjoy walking my dog in Queens Park. Lovely to see the swans and their Cygnets doing well. The pond is busy with all sorts of ducks and wildlife. The children have a great time in the play area. There is something for everyone in this park.
F. A.
One of my favourite parks in Glasgow. Even when it's busy there's room for a quiet, peaceful stroll. Get high up and the views are nice.
C. C.
Good view of Glasgow city from the top.
i. m.
Great for family with young children and for dog walkers.
T.
Nice big green space right in the middle of city.Lots of space to walk or jog around. Great place for families & kids as well.A pond where you can feed ducks or birds but keep in mind to feed only bird food no bread which is quite harmful for the birds. Also quite a few nice eateries & pubs around the park.
M. N.
Beautiful park with clean environment also with lovely ponds with dove and ducks in it
M. W.
Large, popular park with duck ponds, poetry rose garden, play parks, bandstand, glass house, bowling greens, the remains of a Roman hill fort and stunning views across Glasgow to the hills beyond. Wildlife includes squirrels, foxes, ducks, swans and a good variety of wild birds and insects. Easy paths for flat walks around the edge with hilly and woodland sections in the middle. Some nice ornamental planting, plus wild flower meadows, and parkland areas. Generally very friendly but probably best avoided after dark. Good local dog walking community. Also popular cycle routes and paths for joggers, etc
S. S.
Lovely park, duck and swan pond, large children's play area, mini pet display. Not looked after like it used to be. Apparently not the safest place to walk in, especially alone, in the evening. Also too many dogs and their deposits.
L. N.
I took my two very active dogs to this park to walk them twice last week whilst I was in Glasgow.
I usually find city parks to leave much to be desired when it comes to dog walking (I live in the countryside) but was pleasantly surprised.
The park is big and varied enough to provide multiple hours of dog walks with new surroundings without feeling as if you are walking laps or retracing previous steps.
I would definitely recommend it.
C. D.
The park is always great and we were dived bombed by the pigeon brigade. The grey squirrels were out in abundance. Overall a nice park but very few people wearing masks 😷. …
S. S.
Brilliant space for events or a quiet stroll anytime you have free. Beautiful
D. G.
Nice Park, nice pond apart from some irresponsible folk who can't tell or care about difference between pond and bin. A lot of visitors not socially distancing and standing in large groups with no masks-Get with it!
W. D.
It's a lovely big park. Great for walking the dog. Bit of a climb to the top but view of Glasgow is worth it.
j. l.
Such a beautiful park I love it so much loads of gorgeous doggies and super friendly owners
I. D.
Can't count the number of times I've been for a walk here. Excellent size, usually an ice cream truck kicking about or some kind of music (the desposito guy.... 😉). Great any time of year! …
D. P.
Excellent large park right in the city, lots of different parts, boating pond, forest walks, viewpoint at the top of the hill and a rose garden. Good for walking dogs, or just a gentle stroll to relax and get away from it all without having to travel out of town.
R. L.
A lovely park for quiet walks when it's not too cold or in the summer with the sun shining and the squirrels climbing the trees.. It's got two ponds. In the summer, the largest of the ponds is used as a boating pond. Not sure if it still is. I think it still is. It had the boats out last year.
S. L.
A beautiful park....great for a walk as so many paths to take. A busy place at all times of the year as it's great to take children and dogs. ..
I. S.
One of my favourite parks in the whole city, great for a nice walk or run. Especially on a nice day. Although it’s very popular in the snow due to the slopes you can sledge down. Great views from the flagpole. 🙂🙂 …

Great place for kids. Kids enjoy to see fishes, tortoise, birds and other small enclosed species. There is also a designated small soft play area for kids below 5 Yrs.
P. T. (.
The bones of the landscape are still there, but it's sadly neglected compared to when I first worked there 40 years ago. What a pity.
J. G.
Best park in the city.
G. K.
Massive park with kids playground, good for cycling round with multiple routes. Picnic tables and a flagpole at the highest point which gives a great big view of the lovely City of Glasgow. The best City in Scotland in my own opinion. Plenty grass and foot paths. It also has a band stand which is good for skateboarding, rollerskating, rollerblading, BMXing and scootering along with fitness machines. So all in all this is a great park with many activities for kids and adults of all ages. It is kept clean and tidy also. Love the big massive park.
D. G.
Girls have adopted this because it is near a pet shop and they see different activities: football, basket ball. Once we parked in football car park and paid for privilege! Otherwise, small car park over road near skate board area works for us
C. S.
great park bit dirty graffiti and rubbish but still a treat park, fed the swans and 700 birds ducks surrounded us wanting fed as well.
K. M.
Great park. Glass house currently being refurbished so cafe shut.
There's a soft play area for toddlers.
Great reptile and bird area.
Park beautiful all year round.
W.
This is lovely park. It is hilly but worth climbing to the top for the view. Lovely bit of peace and quiet in the city.
j. t.
Great place to let my German Shepherd pup just run and run! He chases the squirrels, rabbits (None that he can get anywhere near to )and any ball or other dog he can befriend and whatever the weather or time of year, we both get home worn out, happy and cuddle up for a nap on the couch! -the Queens Park is the best inner-city park for both Zak +myself and our lives are both so much richer for its closeness to us!life would just not be the same without it,it's a gem in Glasgow and not to be missed if given the chance!!--we love it!...
L. P.
Lovely park in South side of glasgow. Lots of things to do and amazing views over the city. Great for walking the dog with lots of good places for dogs to run around. Visitor centre at the top. Great to visit at any time of year with lots of good places to get a drink nearby.
V.
Beautiful park for sunsets with friends, calm, fun, interesting. Pond area definitely great for children. Good for ciclying slowly.
J. B.
Another great Glasgow park for walking around, admiring the huge lime trees.
Have a coffee in Brodies and a chocolate brownie ice cream thingy at the north end of the park.
N. M.
Is a lovely, surprisingly big park. With great surprises like the glass house and their reptile zoo.
Also the big hill on Pollokshaws rd side is a great place for sledging in the snow
P. M.
Best outdoor space in Glasgow. Huge area to explore with great views over the city.
Boating lake & duck pond, forest paths & gardens. Lots of Swans, ducks & squirrels to feed! Large kids playground with an Ice cream van in the park for refreshments. Other smaller play areas to the side and rear of the park.
Victorian glasshouse at the far side of the park with nature trails, small soft play area, animal/reptile house ( snakes/ turtles/parrots lizards/chinchillas/spiders) and koi carp pond.
Lots of walking and a great way to pass a few hours on a sunny day.
F. W.
Loads of childhood memories here. Was a great place in the city to just find a few trees, climb them and just connect with a part of nature where most of the grey of the city lay outside. The icecream at vans on a summers day. Took my children to visit. Just not the same as it was 30 years ago. The people have changed, but the park has not.
P. M. U.
This is a great social area. It's a lovely park to walk in and it's always filled with dog lovers and families. There is a prevailing air of happiness here and an excellent hot house. All off which go to making this a very pleasant area.
L. L.
Great park, full of nature, eg birds, squirrels etc. 2 ponds, play parks, tennis courts and bowling green. Lovely to walk or jog round.
S. D.
Took the kid's to see the frozen pond and it was great! There was many people some ice skating and playing ice hockey. Great atmosphere and great park.
K. M.
The biggest park I've ever seen in real life (not on Pinterest). Great place to feed other peoples dogs if you don't have a dog of your own x just be careful, sometimes their owners catch you in the act x
A. K.
Bit of work going on which meant address if the park were fenced off but it's a nice big park with plenty of footpaths for exploring. A great place to let your dog off the lead too!
K. B.
Another amazing park Southside of Glasgow. Lovely space with sport activities available. Kids play area. Events regularly take place including festival and musical events. Pond with swans ducks. Park leads of to various other buildings facilities. Public transport easy form all locations. Gcc bicycles outside also. Kids dogs all welcome👍🏻
P. B.
A wonderful park and, though it's well-frequened and busy at times, its large allows you to have fantastic moments there.
C. M.
Queens park is an amazing park it's beautiful trees and amazing wildlife rabbits if Ur lucky and frogs fox's and swan's ducks and all manner of birds a nice play ground and all that in one place check it out you won't regret it ☺️😉 …
E. S.
Great park....lots if nooks and cranies
P. C.
A fairly nice park, even during winter. There sadly is a lot of rubbish around and a bit of graffiti near the pond which is a shame. Definitely worth a walk through when the sun is out. Not a bad view from the top either.
c. m.
Great park for young and old alike plenty of places to sit I was lucky managed to grab some sunshine 🌞 …
C. S.
Beautiful park in the south side of Glasgow. Perfect place to go when the sun is shining with boating pond, duck ponds, tennis courts, playparks, viewpoints, bowling greens and much more. On a hill so spectacular views of Glasgow and to the north when the sky is clear. Surrounded by trendy areas with cafes, bars and shops to explore when you grow tired of relaxing.
S. M.
Lovely little nature walk with many great views
d.
One of my favourite places to go for a walk, plenty of places for food either on Victoria Road or shawlands
T. G.
Lovely park, it's huge, lovely to walk round
p. s.
Awesome tennis courts. Better than most paid courts in Glasgow. Botanical park is good fun too with kids. I won't recommend the pond though because that's very dirty.
P. K.
A long and varied walk starting at Langside Hall, then into the park, past the pond, around the sports and bandstand area and up through the leafy outer pirameter by the old Victoria Infirmary and back down to our starting point - a crucial bit of exercise in these locked down days and a satisfying bit of socialising with another human being - a good hour or so of healthy restoration.
i.
As usual nice park ruined by fires/bonfires- throw away barbeques- alcohol everywhere branches ripped off trees to burn, but NOT neds ruining it for everyone but "right on" uni types who have taken over. Scream louder I can't hear you NOT
J. I.
Lovely park located in the south side of Glasgow. Well maintained with lots of facilities. The view from the flagpole at the highest point in the park is spectacular. The whole of Glasgow in the foreground to Ben Lomond and the Arrochar Alps in the distance. The park has a lot of wildlife including many species of birds. The park is very busy at the weekends and it takes about an hour to walk round the whole park.
D. S.
This is a decent sized park in a built up area. There is a farmers market, monthly, I think, a large pond and ample scope for a walk away from the bussle of Shawlands.
d. m.
It's a great place for a walk
I. M.
A lovely park. There is a kids playground, 2 ponds, a big hill with a wonderful view from the top. Trees, flowers, grass and wildlife.
H. N.
Live locally so always been my park of choice as I know it back of my hand, great for everyone, pond needs maintained and parks fixed upto date but its great for wildlife they have the band stand , cricket fields , tennis courts, basketball courts , out door gym equipment, great patch where the squirrels feed they come so close, its a looked after park 😀 bit more lighting at night would be great think tho x
M. S.
Had some to to kill waiting to pick someone up from the nearby Victoria Hospital. Lovely walk around the park, up to the flagpole to get great views over Glasgow city. Round to the greenhouses to see a range of plants such as cacti, etc. There's an aviary and pet house there too.
K. W.
Went today to walk the dog as I always do in Queens park, on the way I stopped for a coffee at common ground (delish) they said everyone is heading to the park. I was nervous, the first day to the change in lockdown l, would the park be mobbed? It wasn't! Everyone keeping distance and not even that many people there ! Very proud Glasgow xx 😘
S. A.
Best quality value for money Indian restaurant in Glasgow. It's an institution to beautiful food and people have been traveling from far and wide for years. Can thoroughly recommend it.
a. s.

M. W.
Very good walk, lots of different paths u can take and not far from some good coffee shops to grab a brew and a stroll.
R. J.
Lovely green space on the southside of Glasgow, great duck pond and a few play parks
J. A.
I grew up in the gorbals and it was this park and the glasgow green that where our choices,I loved the boats on the pond wish they would bring them back again,so many fond memories, lovely for walks or in the summer just sunbathing just a beautiful place to be.
R. C.
I was sitting at the lower pond when the swan family decided to fly down from the upper pond. Daddy Swan made a perfect landing, Mummy Swan slightly overshot and landed with one foot on the path and one foot in the pond and tumbled awkwardly into the water. But moody teenage Swan completely overshot and had to avoid the pond and swoop up again. He completed a nice turn over the main road and promptly flew into a tree. He picked himself up, dusted himself off and waddled back to the pond.
It was hilarious.
S. B.
Great Park with landscaping and interesting features. Tennis courts in very good condition and a pleasure to use. Looking forward to Scottish Water completing their construction work.
R. M.
Very nice park in a good area in Glasgow. Nice views from the highest hill and plenty of options for activities

It's a nice and surprisingly large park but doesn't have a lot of facilities and can sometimes be a bit messy.
C. 4. C.
Huge park ,with brilliant tennis and basketball courts, the glass house is a great place to take the kids to see the small animals ,it's a place for lots of long walks, but it is hilly ,there is also a pond with swans in it ,

M. M.
Beautiful exotic flowers, nice scenery, lovely just walk in the park. The reptile house is great for the kids. Its fun and free.

Nice place to hang out for a Sunday bbq. Is not too busy so you always will find a spot to chill. However can be a bit doggy for girls hanging around alone ,)
N. W.
Love to have this park on my doorstep:) Enjoy walking around it, it's big so still haven't seen it all. Love the Duck pond too. Lots to see and do..awaiting the summer fest.
I. M.
Lovely big park. Very well maintained. The vivarium is a great little spot to take children to, lots of interesting things for them to see, particular as it's free of charge.
A. H.
Just great for a walk, or tennis (book in advance free), has ponds with 🦆 and some memorial gardens. …
A. G.
Nice park with beautiful views of glasgow. Bins should be emptied more regularly but apart from that plenty parking surrounding it and cafes nearby
P. R.
It's a beautiful park with a good, energetic walk possible. It's hilly! There are two playpark areas for children and a glasshouse containing an 'animal house' and cafe.
m. z.
Lovely park with gorgeous panorama from the hill top.
Although it can get bit crowded and full of families with kids.
P. L.
What was seen of the queen's Park was great, the only thing that was wrong was the fact we had to go all round the parks exterior to get to where we wanted to go because the Sat Navigation sent us the wrong way !!
M. L.
Beautiful and varied....so many nook and crannies to discover: botanic garden, sports, auditorium, pond, look out point, manicured gardens my oh my!
M. A.

E. W.
Lovely place. Very pretty.
S. K.
The park is beautiful but the playpark now needs more maintenance for e.g the roundabout was taken away a while ago but still not been replaced.
T. B.
An interesting park to walk round, great variety of trees, a tremendous view over the city. Seems to be well used by dog-walkers and Mum's with little children.

It's a lovely park when its sunny but there is no sheltered areas if the rain comes on plenty of shops on Kilmarnock rd& at Victoria rd
P. J. H.
Beautiful crocus fields, lots of people and great surrounding architecture. What lets the park down? Litter, which seems to be an issue with a lot of Glasgow's public places.
R. P.
Such a beautiful park, great for a walk with the kids or dogs. Great bakeries and coffee shops nearby too
D. R.
A nice park right in the heart of Glasgow's South side. The hill in the centre of the park is one of the highest points in the area and as such gives great views over the city.
B.
The rose garden was changing but still beautiful
j. b.
It"s ok not the best park in Glasgow, the exercise machines outdoors is good there is a variety of them. Good park for a walk.
Z. C.
Good park with 2 great ponds don’t enter after 8 pm on your own
J. N.
Like chess, it's bigger than Kings Park. Since COP26 it seems to have acquired a semi-permanent fast food van. Which is nice.
C. H.
Tennis courts, Bowling greens, hills, trees and ponds. get your kids off the sofa and get them out in the park. Not as good as Ruekenglen Park down the road but a good wee walk at any time of year.
S. G.
This is absolutely my fav place for a Sunday stroll. Lovely well kept park. Ideal place to enjoy some chill out time
A. s. A.
Lovely in the sun, great for tennis, bowling & a sizeable pitch & putt green! Great for a brisk walk or jog taking you round the inskirts of the southside of Glasgow, great for keeping fit, with dedicated tennis coaching to boot, also a great refurbished bandstand with various gigs on throughout the summer months!! A great walk to the flagpole, all uphill from any direction is sure to get your blood pumping, to get shed of those extra pounds & calories!!! It's the greatest green space on the Southside of Glasgow, for sure!!!
G. W.
Worked in it as a gardener as a kid & love the place. Pity the boating pond is full of leeches & not sticklebacks though. Glass house is lovely & the star of the show.

Very big and beautiful park. Just one big issue that dogs are every where and open. Either councile should make a seprate place or donot allow to park at all.
E. A.
Beautifully organised and well maintained park,,nice place to walk around ,running tracks and spacious kids play area
I. T.
Maybe the best park of Glasgow. Very Victorian and sumptuous. Finest views from highest spots in the middle of the park. If you're in Glasgow, Queen's park is must to see.
C. C.
A gem of a park in Glasgow's southside. We were in the Glass House this afternoon for a 1st birthday. This could be a great venue for evening functions if only it was renovated, such a shame the listed dome at the main entrance is all blocked off. GCC is waiting on funding to upgrade this. That said, QP is well worth a walk around....
K. B.
Lovely paved walkways and large grassy areas. Nice large pond and lots of coffee shops surrounding
K. N.

Queens Park is a battlefield and takes its name from Mary Queen of Scots who led an army to fight in the Battle of Langside 450 years ago. My favourite part is the Poetry Rose Garden where many of Scotland's writers and poets of the past are commemorate including Somhairle MacGilleEathain.
L. B.
It's a great park but like all of Glasgow City parks the maintenance standards have dropped significantly over recent years.
