Reviews of Robinswood Hill Country Park
G.My 11 year old, 3 year old and I had a fantastic walk here recently. It was great fun and we very much enjoyed a vegan sausage roll and cake in the cafe afterwards!
The views from the beacon are fantastic, but even if you don’t make it that far, the scenery at the bottom of the hill is beautiful too.
There are leaflets available from the Visitor’s Centre (Wildlife Trust) mapping several way marked walking trails across the site.
M. E. J.I've lived in Gloucester for many years but never visited Robinswood Hill until just the other day.
It was much better than I expected! Also much steeper than I thought.
Lovely view of Gloucestershire from the highest point. Unfortunately the beacon was broken, hopefully it gets fixes soon.
I enjoyed the sculpture trail which had wonderful wood work and history of the area. I liked being able to scan with my phone to find out more information.
I saw quite a few rabbits running around and got to see the cows! So that's a plus a nature lover.
It was quite muddy there and could do with handrails of some sort for support, especially when coming down.
K. D.We took a wonderful walk to the top on Robinswood Hill. There are a number of different routes so something for everyone. Once we came back down we popped in to the cafe. The coffee was nice and the cakes to die for. We're already planning a return visit.
K. S.It's a great place for walks and the only park I've seen so far allowing public BBQs. It's not an easy climb up and down closer to the Robinswood Beacon. You can still see the left over of the wooden post of the beacon built to celebrate Queen's golden jubilee, which came down in the storm Bella. We were so lucky to see some mountain goats roaming up over the sloaps of an old quarry.
N. J.Absolutely amazing, free parking and seems to be plenty of it. Free to use freestanding BBQs where available also lots of BBQ stands on the end of many benches so you can bring your own!
Kids play areas opposite car park to warm them up before the walk or wear them out at the bottom.
Nice cafe but didn't try out as we couldn't see any online menus so we took a picnic with us!
Nice wildlife sculpture trail around the bottom but lots of different trails, includes ones which aren't signed. So easy to get around but be prepared for a good steep hike to the top. When you get there you can see as far as the eye can see all the way to the Malvern hills on a clear day.
There is another peak if you follow it along which gives you the remaining views of Tuffley, Quedgeley and Kingsway etc.
Depending on the routes you take, who your with and how good your stamina is, this will easily keep you busy for half to a full day of activities.
If you haven't been or haven't been recently it's definitely a cheap activity for all the family, dog walkers, horse riders, hikers and beauty spot for viewers!
S. H.Love it here, See so much wildlife, Really nice walks, And the views are amazing, Definitely recommend coming here, Nice big area to sit and have Bbq and picnics, Some interesting facts robinswood hill lends itself to a massive range of coloured sandstone, Also has play area for kids.
Also the hill is a recognised as a beacon warning area for gloucester, 41st St Georges scout group celebrated 100 years of scouting on top of the hill by camping which is the first to be allowed to do in history, you can come up this hill and walk numerous tracks which is lovely and to see the bluebells, Beautiful place
L. H.Lovely cafe with lots to choose from. Shame only 1 staff member serving as it was such a lovely day and was very busy. After going to cafe enjoyed a walk to reflect. Robinswood Hill is amazing so much has been done to help with routes without destroying the beautiful nature. I was lucky enough to see 2 deer only a few feet away, a mother and fawn feeding on leaves, for a few minutes before disappearing into the hedges. The parking at Robinswood is free which allowed me the option of walking as well, a massive bonus as I’ve been unable to do the same at Crickley Hill where parking fees are shameful. All in all would highly recommend Robinswood to anyone as it well worth a visit.

A.Brilliant place with loads of paths of different lengths and difficulty. Many species of trees and shrubs attracting birds and butterflies. Ponds attracting dragonflies. Wonderful view from the top Beacon Hill. Great playground for children and loads of spots for BBQs and picnics. Very good visitor centre with cafe. Well worth a visit.
