Reviews of Bourne Park
Wow, it was a beautiful day for it. I hadn't been here since it was renovated but I'm so glad I went. My twins are 18 months old and this place was perfect for them. The paddling pool only came to my ankles and is the same depth across the entire pool. It is fenced in and gated so didn't worry about them getting out. The area around the pool is a soft rubber type material and wasn't slippery when wet. Considering its an outside pool it was extremely clean. Can't wait to go back.
We enjoyed our day by the paddling pool. It's great fun, very shallow so great for little kids. Obviously - you've got to be prepared to get splashed by crazy kids. There were some bouncy castles right next to the pool and an ice cream van.
The park's toilets however- disgusting!
What a find, took the children to the splash park. They had great fun in the pool. Plenty of shade to keep out of the sun.
Great parkland, great for bike rides and dog walking. Car park available, and it's all free!
Huge park with a little woodland walk, wide open field and lovely clean play areas with what looks like a nice size paddling pool in the summer. Perfect for all the family and doggos
Lovely park for walking, sports or taking the children to the new/old play areas along with the paddling pool during the summer
Loads of seats and tables. Clean and well kept. The splash pool was so lovely and so is the playarea
Great play area and abundant space for outdoor activities and dog exercise. The paddling pool is an underrated gem. Parking could be improved.
A family park, dog walking and play area, easy access and parking, lovely views to Orwell bridge at top end, if walking from Stoke park drive to the Wherstead road entrance this leads to the ostrich creek and river Orwell, plenty of wildlife in the park, woodpeckers can be seen near the reed beds and the Brook side of park plus many other species of birds.
Always love this place. A play park and a small splash park for the kids to cool down. Usually an ice cream van in summer and lots of lovely walks too.
Great place for a walk. It has been cleaned up and looks better nowadays.
Peaceful place. Nature in its purest state.
Such a lovely park. Plenty of room to have a picnic, meet family and friends and find your own area or just go for a walk. There’s a Playground for small children. It was a hot day but sadly the fountains weren’t on. Someone said they open in June. A sign stating this would be useful. Lovely walk in the shade as there are so many trees. Would be nice to have new clear signage around the whole park as this might encourage more people to visit.
Mostly it's just a grassy space...
Reports of the existence of a café here proved to be highly exaggerated.
The gated playground says it's for 12 yr olds and under, but didn't hold my 7 & 11 year olds' attention for long. Luckily there were more climbing and sliding options, and a pretty good zipwire.
And then the path beside the reed beds was something you don't see other places (and we saw a deer right up against the fence, bold as you like!), and there's a nature walk for next time...
We came away very happy, but the girls only wanted to give it ***...
Great little play area with super splash pool adjacent. Lovely park, plenty of parking which is free.
Nice park, we (me & Tich) bought a picnic in the Bourne bridge mini supermarket, popped into the garden centre then went into the park and stopped at a picnic table to eat our lunch
Very pleasant though the weather was quite bracing.
Then we walked (well I rode the scooter) through the park and took the back route home
Good memories
RIP Tich
Pictures of the park in the afternoon and at Twilight
Enjoyed the park and the splash pool was great. More info on parking would have been good, there are car parks at either end for my 1 year old it was quite a walk to the park from the one we chose.
Would definitely go again!
Nice park for children, 2 play areas and a pool very good. Would have been better if I could've found the toilets
1st time here. Kids loved it. Busy, toilets opposite, play park etc
Fantastic an absolutely beautiful park, I don't live in Ipswich, but you are really lucky to have this, please look after it because once it's gone it's gone
Met my Girls & Grandchildren for Picnic today , fabulous park with lots of lovely trees for shade , safe play park & splash pool & to finish day of a yummy ice cream from the van with fabulous helpful cheerful lady serving them
My only fault is the disgusting toilets in the park , other than that well worth a virtually cheap day out visit with the children
It's a decent enough park but the thing that let's it down in my opinion is the car park ( Stoke Park end) which in desperate need of resurfacing.
Nice Park all round and beautiful day to top it all.
Very nice park just a couple of dog owners need to pick up after there dog !!!
This is our everyday park for dog walks and we love it. There always seems to be a nice bunch of people walking their dogs ready for a conversation. Nice section for children with swings etc and vast open fields (with some woodland areas) for walking the dogs.
Super park for toddlers to big kids!! Water area for wading in . Lovely and clean. Lots of picnic benches and park is enclosed with a fence . Plenty of room to play footy or frisby etc.
Great place to come for a stroll. Public toilets opposite the play park, picnic benches, zip line and 2 playparks for older and younger children. I found somr of the play equipment for you get children wasn't accessible for them or could have done with the addition of handles etc for smaller ones.
Good walk place...small kids play area yet nice... Sitting arrangements are also there
Nice Park lots of areas to play
Lovely open park 👌
Nice play area and plenty of wide open space. Not much parking at Wherstead Road end.
Lovely place to walk your dog, friendly other dog walkers, well kept and amazing use of fallen trees
Always a great place to take the children
Took a beautiful walk round the park. The reed beds were pretty.
Brilliant for kids of all ages
Lovely park. Beautiful variety of trees. Has a children's playground and many people walk their dogs here.
I cycle through here every day, it's well kept and very peaceful, football is played here, there is a paddling pool for kids and lots of play areas
Fantastic park that is actually bigger than what it first appears.
The children's playground is fun and mostly easy for children of all ages to use (swings, slides, etc).
The paddling pool is a great little feature too and offers the perfect, local, free summer activity.
My favourite part is exploring the adjacent woods (Reed beds, Ostrich Meadows, Ashwood plantation, etc) as it offers a feeling of being away from town and is a great local photography spot.
Fabulous Park with great range of open spaces for every activity.
Very nice park indeed highy recommend
Lovely park with some disabled equipment and the paddling pool is fantastic so much better than the sprinklers children can sit int he water and play walk up and down you cant beat the old paddling pools
Very nice .dogs not allowed in play area and I have a dog but I do agree with this so yes a thumbs up
Fantastic new play area! Plus paddling pool!
Had a lovely time in the park today with our 6 yr old grandson.
It would be nice to have a small platform for children to stand on to get on the zip wire as l cannot lift him .
Gardens are beautiful !
Great park well looked after
Great Park but parts of it need updating
Good for a splash around for the kids in summer in the shallow pool and good play area's. Ideal for picnic or a walk in the nearby woodland walks
Great park for toddlers
A bit muddy just now, but if you are suitably dressed it's a lovely place to walk. And there is even a coffee van at the moment 👍
Although I would give it 4 stars for not having enough things to play with, the park is very nice and green, the playground for kids is surrounded by a fence where even a 20+ year old can go back to his younger age and enjoy his time. Coming to this quiet place is very relaxing, be it you want to read a book by yourself or go on a date with someone, you will be very pleased
Very good place to visit for under 12s. Took a 7 & 4yr old. Paddling pool entertained the children very nicely even though it was cloudy. Would maybe take water toys next time.
A lovely little park, to walk the dog, ride a bike. Play football.
Lovely place for picnic
Beautiful place to share lovely moments with family
Great park for little ones, best in Ipswich in my opinion, my daughter can climb up all the equipment in the park as they have been designed with little people in mind. The paddling pool is brilliant and the park in general is always clean and tidy, even see park guards checking the play area equipment on a regular basis.
Loved the open space, trees, shrubs, grass. Children's play area and paddling pool excellent. Picnic seating area. Also rope climbing area and slides, and a zip line. Toilets need the attention of refurbishment but I expect that is in future plans. Nice formal gardens too.
Great park. Play area suitable for big and little kids. Water Park is great too especially as its fully gated from the play area.
This park is very well supported. I Only have one suggestion the dome kettle in the picture needs to be line with some kind of material that doesn't get too hot in the sun .it far too hot for the children. Especially with the temperature due to rise in the summer.
Great park for kids with outdoor pool. Toilets near by, lovely walks, car park and lots of space.
This park ticks so many boxes, I love it!
The big, open space means plenty of room for a kick about with a ball, a bit of kite flying ( this is what we did with the grand daughters!) or just pick a spot and enjoy the sun.
There is a well-equipped play park for the little ones, including a zip- wire!
During the summer months the large paddling pool is open and is very popular.
Definitely recommend a visit.
Beautiful walking trails when well maintained, great scenery!
Lovely little play area and the paddling pool was so much fun! Water fun without having to actually take the kids swimming. Love it!
Took my grandchildren to the play area which has all been replaced was very safe and secure paddling pool looked lovely but too cold to use. Picnic tables a nice touch. Lovely park though alot of dog walkers
Amazing park really well thought out with the covid guidelines! My children loved the park as it is huge with so much to do, the paddling pool was a added bonus which again was really well thought out with only 10 children allowed in per 20 minute slot. There is loads of grounds to walk around it is honestly a beautiful park. Free parking and free to use! You can easily spend the whole day there with a picnic. There is toilets but I would strongly advise taking soap and hand sanitisation.
Great local park, attractive avenue of trees, which were the approach road to the former Stoke Park Mansion. Parking at the Stoke Park Drive end. Good views of the River Orwell and the iconic bridge.
Lovely big park
Lots of free parking
Plenty of space and mixed areas for walks with dog including nature trails along a Brook and also across the road
Lots for kids to do including a paddle pool area in summer
Near to local shops and fuel station
Nice park. Great place to walk, play with kids.
Lovely day out with the family... lovely park, great area and love the upgrades to kids park, could do with more swings as these are childrens favourite its seems and there is always wues for them. 😊
Lovely park for families, great play area which seems well looked after. Clean splash pad/kids pool, zip wire, a couple of table tennis tables. Couple of football pitches and plenty of space to chill as well. Well marked out 2.5K route for running and cycling. Only one side of the park backs onto housing so it's often quite quiet; one side of the park leads out to a nice walk across meadows and out to Spring Wood.
Great park with some thing for everyone. Popular dog walking park. Children's play areas and splash pool for young children that gets very busy in the summer. Often used for sport, both football and outdoor exercise classes. Occasional summer events. Parking available from Stoke Park Drive.
Really nice park good play area. Only a few places for parking, that's why only 4 stars
Lovely big open area.. wonderful views. Great forest walk to the back of the park. Clean with lots of play activities in the play area. Brilliant for a family day out in summer or winter
I visited Bourne Park on the hottest day ever recorded. Which is a shame as we spent most of the visit picnicing under a beautiful oak tree, so didn't see as much of this beautiful park.
However, we did enjoy the flower beds and the children with us loved the excellent play equipment especially the zip wire.
Lots of people made use of the paddling pool, which I have very happy memories of visiting as a child.
You could easily spend a whole day here with lots of different areas to explore.
It's a genuine pleasure to see such a well maintained park. It's so clean and tidy, including the free to use public toilets. Which are very basic, there was no soap or toilet paper, but it was very clean on a busy Bank Holiday weekend.
Been going to this park since I was a kid, they have updated the play area and paddling pool which is now very nice.
Lovely walk for dogs, and park is pretty good for kids, however there were a few things that were boarded off as had broken. I can imagine it has the potential to be a lovely place to bring kids in the summer.
Pleasant enough place, small car park at each end. Single path through the middle. Children's play area is superb. Clean grassy area, great for a picnic in the summer.
Great for the kids
Great park if you have kids , dogs, play sports or want to explore nature. 2x play areas, 2 wooded areas, a nature walk, large paddling pool opens in summer. My kids and dog really like this park. It was our favourite park until Holly wells park had a refurb
Excellent place to visit any time of the year. Lots of open spaces for children and dogs to run around in. Various climbing frames etc for the children plus a zip wire and paddling pool. Fine views across to the Orwell Bridge and surrounding countryside from many vantage points. Also a variety of trees and wildlife. Best of all, it's free. Can't be bad.
Always love going hear, I can always find want I want for my animals and the staff are always nice.
A great place to visit 😊
Really big park with a fairly old playground plus a brand spanking new playground and paddling pool (for the under 8s).
Ice cream van on standby. Parking at the paddling pool end of the park very limited and its a 3 mile drive to the other car park! All in all a cracking half day with the kids.
Fantastic park for all the family
Paddling pool now open too
Great local park for dog walking and jogging. Good for kids, with paddling pool and play area. Loses a star as they no longer keep all the paths clear from getting overgrown.
Fantastic park, well kept. New kids play area is really good for both very small and slightly older kids. Never had any trouble parking at stoke park drive and.
My dog and I LOVE this huge park - mixture of pathways, lawn, woodland. There are also 2 children's play areas, one at each end of Bourne Park. Great to visit in any weather. One small moan: the car park just beyond the railway bridge (entrance nearest the garden centre) often floods during or after heavy rain - so good idea to wear waterproof boots!
Very nice park for weekend activities with kids.
Plenty of field to play a football.
Now after complete refurbishment (in 2018) the kids playground is even better.
The most visited place in hot days of summer due to free padding pool.
Highly recommended Park.
Free carpark
Good for hot days or just taking the children out for a couple of hours
Bourne park is so lovely I played on there as a kid. You can walk your dogs or just go for walks. There's a lovely play area and the large paddling pool as been refurbished lovely for the children take a picnic as no food or drink available. The ice cream van turned up in the afternoon
First visit to the under 12's play park yesterday with our 1yo, they loved it, not to busy considering it was a Sunday in the summer holidays.
Nice park lot's of space. WC Children's play area and paddling pool. Down side to many dog walkers with dog's off there lead's.
there is a fantastic log on the walk through Bourne park which i laid on and was photographed. very pleased with the photo. the park is a lovely walk that can be done at least once a day if you are a dog owner. no bikes are allowed otherwise the scary security council worker will come find you and slap your wrists.
Leads to many bike trails which is cool, lovely little paddling pool and play areas scattered, the laboratory options are lacking and the shelter quite often stinks of urine, the park in all is lovely tho and has massive open spaces for all sorts of activities and family experiences
Fantastic Park for all age children. There are toilet facilities but unfortunately they need updating. There is a small splash pool but no changing facilities. Sometimes there is an ice cream van in the summer months but other than that make sure you have a packed lunch with you as there is no where to buy buy food or drink
Great place for a hot day. Nice, little paddling pool for kids (and parents 😉) where they can have fun and cool off. Park itself is beautiful too and surrounded by football field
Nice medium size park to stroll around, good for the kiddies with the paddling pool.
Nice park, shame people leave rubbish, just too idle and lazy to put it in a bin.
Usually always clean and the kids have a fab time. The park is nice adjacent to the pool, but the one closest to Stoke Park Drive entrance is a bit scummy.
Fantastic Park and we'll cared for by the staff and people using the park.
It's an amazing park and a good size!
Plenty of play areas for children. Ideal for walking a dog or just a stroll.
Love this park year round, well kept and litter free. Most of the central grounds are given over to football pitches, but it's skirted all around by managed wilderness areas. Parking is free and plentiful at the Store Park Drive end, less bumpy at the Wherstead Road end and nearer to the formal Remembrance garden and grassy playground further in. The park also has a small, pleasant, shallow paddling area open through the summer months - often supported by a mobile ice cream kiosk. Free nature tours and events crop up through the year in the park - just keep an eye out on the notice boards. Toilet facilities do exist in the formal gardens but not recommended as they need an overhaul.
Nice park lots of space good to bring your kids to has two kids play areas and also in the summer a paddling pool. This park is also good for walking your dogs.
Gardening jobs get started but never finished. At nights cars come in to eat take aways and dump their rubbish in car park. It would be nice if they filled the pot holes at the entrance. (Stoke part drive entrance)
Brilliant play park for the children, large paddling pool big enough for 40 children, (about 20 cm deep). Huge amounts of open space to play ball games or run with your dog in.
Brilliant for kids. Good play area and loads of space to kick a football or have a family game of rounders! If you are coming by car, lots of potholes at the stoke park drive entrance.
Lovely open-plan park with lots of space for everyone.
Great children's play area too.
Nice park but long walk from big car park. Same with most parks just need to watch out for dog poo. Toilets need cleaning but one of the better parks in Ipswich.
Green spaces trees and children's play areas plus paddling pool.... summer only. Love this park.
Love this park, good pathways, loads of parking at Stoke park entrance, lovely play area for the children, with nice clean toilets near by and lots of space for the dogs to have a good run safely so everyone is happy
I like the path in the trees, while muddy, I could hear lots of birdsong and a woodpecker. Nice views from the top of the hill.
An amazing park with 2 play areas, long walks and connections to other reserves. Absolutely a must for all ages. Fab views of Orwell bridge and river Orwell from the top of the hill. My favourite park in Ipswich.
This has always been my childhood park, the park is quite large and have 2 play areas, great for young kids and for people who just want a nice walk.
Beautiful park, even better since the main playground has been updated. Would be nice if there were a few more park benches in the playground area.
It's a loverly Park
Absolutely loved this place took niece and nephew they also loved it plenty to do from the little nature walk, to the hug park they have suitable for small kids and upswards. But the high light was the little paddling pool
Lovely park. Nice big water area. Only a fee things let it down. No changing rooms near the water area and the bridge in the park. Due to the chains being so far apart a child fell off it!!
Amazing, great for little kids to splash about in a gated area and park and green area for playing all day!! Just watch out for big kids running and splashing and not watching the little ones around them!
This park is beautiful it is so well maintained and the local dog walkers and families with children seriously appreciate the time and effort put in by the staff responsible for its upkeep. Thank you from me and my dog 😆
Fantastic free paddling pool for children, now open for the summer at Wherstead Road end. Good play area and lots of wide open grass.
PARKING IS TERRIBLE - GET THERE EARLY AS ONLY 20 SPOTS - DO NOT PARK ON DOUBLE YELLOW LINES! Saw 22 parking fines being issued one day last summer!
Other parking available at Stoke Park end, postcode IP2 9SD and then walk 5 minutes through park.
Lovely for a walk around, lots of walkways and open area with football pitch and parks for kids. Good if one wants to have a picnick and some sun.
Great for kids of all ages and the park looks well taken care of
Nice sunny day my grandchildren enjoyed them self's , playing football and the adults took a nice slow walk wot a lovely park , can't wait for summer to start and play in the pool
Plenty of things in the play area for children of all ages. The play area is also behind railings which is good as dogs cannot go in. I like this as not all children like dogs and not all dogs like children.
The water park wasn't open but all had good fun
It's a nice park with lots for the kids to do but at the moment there not letting to many kids in the pool you have to book a place
Fantastic renovation of park. So many different pieces of equipment including a lovely paddling pool. Had loads of fun on a very hot and busy day!
Lovely park but I do believe the park should be closed at night as it's scary having to walk past there when it's dark outside as there is only 2 ways home for me . Through the woods 2. Walk past the park where there is no gates
Really great place for the kids. Great playing area, nice and new and a paddling pool in the summer. Loads of room for everyone. Worth a look for sure.
What a lovely place to take ya family total revamp to what it used to be 👍
Such a lovely spot in the summer, especially since the play area & paddling pool refurb.
Lovely park nice big space 2 playparks and a paddling pool
Lovely play area, a few bits of rubbish but that's more of the publics fault for being lazy.
Very nice place to be for a while, inside the car or taking a promenade. Amazing greenery and space for freedom. The Council own's the main places and buildings in Ipswich. Fantastic! Our money counts.
Great park. Open space and peaceful and a cute little wood area. Worth a visit.
Lovely place for a stroll.
Great park. Everything you want from a relaxed outdoor area. Open green space, nice wooded walks with plenty of wildlife, excellent childrens play area and Belstead brook accessable through a kissing gate
Great park lovely country walks
Good for walking dogs and letting Little kids run around and play
Love this place, great for kids,or dogs,or kids with dogs, or kids without dogs,or dogs with or without kids, plenty of open space, new kids play area, follow one of the paths through the woods and you and the kids and the dogs can have a lovely adventure and make memories
Recently had some work done here, lovely gated play park and paddling pool. Lots of picnic benches. Nice sunday afternoon with the kids.
Great park & paddling pool for the Children. The toilets let it down a little but other than that a great place to take the kids free of charge
Great open space. Sometimes ruined by inconsiderate dog owners who don't pick up their dog mess (yes, I recently stepped in some ruining a classic pair of Puma States).
Perfect place To walk a dog
Brilliant Green park space, my daughter love's the play area just inside park (near the rememberence statue).
Apart from the jobs worth under the tent, who wanted me to wait 2 minutes for my "spot", it is fabulous park and paddling pool
Great playgrounds well maintained .
IV known this park since IV been a toddler, im now 41...
IL always love this well kept and now renovated new play area.
Off too the pool again tomorrow...
Beautiful park. Great to have such a wonderful playpark and splash pool too. Plenty of parking at the entrance off Stoke Park area
Really nice park! That's really all there is to it.
Named after the ultimate student Jason of Treadstone Black Ops, excellent espionage training including escape and evasion, basket weaving and much more! The only negative was the bad attitude of the very dangerous and highly trained counter terrorist pigeons
Love the park, it is very dog friendly, and the new play area is perfect for small children. The park rangers are very helpful
Awesome park
Good medium size park with two play areas, car parking and plenty of green.
My experience about this place is really good because the kids having a lot of fun each time I take them to the park and I'm very happy with that .
Nice park, good facilities and convenient parking.
Great place to take dogs out to.
Lovely little river ankel deep so you can go in with your dog should you wish to.
DanceEast performed and got the children dancing. A place for all ages and fitness.
Lovely children's play area and paddling pool. Toilets need a little updating. We've had a lovely day.
I took two of my grandchildren to Bourne Park a ten year old and a six year old the park have them a couple of hours of fun, yes I will return there again
Beautiful
Good place to walk your dog but needs more dog poo bins. 1 at exit is all I found.. had to trudge thru mud to get to it..... not impressed..
Lovely place to walk a dog, play football, have a picnic! Great playground with splashing pool!
A large well kept park situated on the edge of Ipswich. There are two play areas for children including a paddling pool.
Cool for children.made very good
A nice park (really awesome kids play part) the parks leeds onto some other really nice nature walks but sadly I couldn't find a cafe
A lovely park with lots of things for the kids to do, the paddling pool is lovely and kept very clean.
Beautiful park! Well maintained, and clean.
😍🐾❤
This is a lovely safe place for the children to play. Well done the Ipswich borough council
Another lovely day at Bourne Park with the grandchildren. Lots to play on and lovely walking scenery to see.
Great park. Only things is dogs can get in the play area. Owners don't always have control.
Amazing park absolutely love this place. kids loves the paddling pool and the play area is great
Beautiful gardens here , nice to walk through with two children's play areas one either end of the park.
Was my go to park when a child. Now my daughter loves to go here with me. Paddling pool is always busy when the suns is out.
Fab park. Well kept.
Just wish they would sort the smaller playground in the middle of the park.
I walk my dogs there every day sometimes twice a day
Lovely Park with good children's play area, wildlife walks and great open spaces.
Nice Park with a nice play area. Good for dogs
Great location and pool in summer for little ones. Revamped play aera. All modern.
The paddling pool is awesome for kids. It's safe and lots of space for others activities
Great Park with two children's play areas and a paddling pool. Only small negative is tiny car park at Bourne bridge end
Great park.
We all loved it, our dog especially.
Will be going back 👍
Lovely paddling pool and play area. Be careful though, little ones need close supervision :-)
Nice relaxing visit
Claire was very Helpful friendly shared a laugh great service
Nice, but gets boring after a while
Stand in the park for freedom 10-11 every Sunday morning. See you there 😁
Good park for walking dogs. Big open area. As well to play football and playground for kids.

Paddling pool was fantastic and the play area perfect for young children, all very clean and well maintained
Lovely place to just walk around. Even get some chestnuts

Pleasant park facilities for children - I played there as a child - popular for dog walking. Plenty of carparking.
Great place for kids. Highly recommended
Visited the park today with my grandson very nice apart of the dog mess in the play area not the dogs fault
Luvly place to visit in the summer. Paddling pool gives kids hours of fun while adults chill
Quiet shady spot under the trees, watching the world go by. Ipswich Parks continue to offer welcome respite.
Lovely park lots for the little ones. Toilets could be improved though.
Nice family park play area has been completely redone paddling pool also
A great park with something for everyone from a very large nature reserve to a kids water area.
Huge, beautiful open space with a play area, a zip wire and a large paddling pool for hours of fun!

Lovely Park, very clean and tidy, gardens are well kept.
Fantastic park, fully recommend
First visit, great local park

👍👍 👍
Have been attending on & off for many years. Still think the parking is awful, but the equipment is some of the best.
Nice park careful if it's wet muddy madness lol
A nice relaxing park sporting both nice relaxing views and children's play area with paddling pool.
Lovely place great for kids. Paddling pool in summer
Lovely open spaces!! Great park!!
Clean quite lovely flowers nice walks
