Beautiful old abbey ruins, steeped in history. Perfect for a morning out and walk around. Free to enter through the gift shop, fairly muddy in winter so wear appropriate footwear. Fun to walk around and see all the various rooms, we almost missed the main hall so keep an eye out for different paths. Highly recommended.

A reasonably sized car park with an ice cream van near the entrance. Oh and it's free too. Over the road from Kirkstall Abbey and the museum. I would imagine that it gets very busy and full at the weekends, but fortunately I was there on a week day.

Kirkstall Abbey Car Park
It's a bit odd to be asked to review a car park but here goes.
The number of spaces is small so get here early. There are a few disabled spaces and some for minibuses. Even 2 or 3 coach spaces.
It's free to park.
The spaces themselves are wider than average.
An ice cream van (card payment only) is usually parked up.
A short walk from the museum and cafe.
The Abbey itself is across a busy main road, but there is a crossing point.

I was blown away by the fabulous parking at Kirkstall Parking. Like the ruins over the road, the parking spaces are weather beaten and knackered up and are totally in keeping with the vernacular of their surroundings. The ancient pot holes and week old McDonald's wrappers blowing around in the breeze add to sense of time passing you by as you gaze in bleak wonderment and contemplate why you have ended up here.

Plenty of people walking dogs and families together. Social distance easy to maintain. Nice open space. No amenities available.

Nice walk around .unfortunately everything was shut due to covid. Easy parking. Nice playground for the children.
Will definitely return in the summer .

Free, so fills up very quickly, especially with the small children's playground next to it and being so close to the Abbey and Abbey house museum

Decent number of parking spaces even on the Saturday we visited. Spacious, green, free to use

Great place for a short walk and in better weather and when allowed good for a picnic. The ruined abbey is interesting.
