Reviews of Mount Pleasant Car Park
K. C.
Central location with reasonable charge, but parking space and passage is quite condensed. Not suitable for non-experienced drivers
K. T.
Ideal if you need somewhere to park all day, for work or uni. Standard rate for the full day, plenty of spaces, and really good location.
Recommend parking on level 7 if you arrive early, to make exiting later easier.
M. R.
Great place to park your car. Affordable prices and easy access to town. Only drawback is, when you park over two hours, they charge a standard £5 parking fee.
P. S.
Great place to park with competitive pricing for the city centre. Conveniently placed opposite the Adelphi hotel, and a few minutes walk into the centre.Would recommend, plenty of space.👍
P. H.
Good value parking right in city centre, although lifts very slow advice us the stairs if you can
C. Y.
Clean spacious multi story car park. I drive an audi A8 and often have trouble with these sorts of car parks but found this one a doddle to fit my fat car in. Plenty of space on either side of my car. You can pay by contactless at the exit, so no queuing for machines. Good value too. Within walking distance of Liverpool Philharmonic. If only they had something like this in Manchester City centre!
D. D.
Convenient city centre car parking in a concrete multi story. Good value with the ticket and barrier system. This means you only pay for what you use, instead of previously buying 3 hours from the machine to be on the safe side, but only using 70 minutes! I've overpaid a small fortune over the years in the past.
J. N.
Loads of spaces, but pretty busy.
Only 5 quid to park all day in premium location.
Seemed safe enough.
A. s.
Good value pricing, but it's not really that clear that it closes at 8pm - especially as it's close to the Empire Theatre - we were locked out for the night after the performance ended. This is a shoppers car park only - beware !
M. H.
Cheap place to park in the center of Liverpool. As the others had said, closes quite early. Another thing to note is that amex is not accepted as a form of payment which caused me a bit of hassle exiting.
M. W.
I use this car park every time I come into town. It’s cheap, safe and always has spaces. The only issue i find is that people get confused with the ticket machines. The car park has upgraded the system so you can just use your card as your driving out, which is great but the old machines are still dotted around. I always have to tell people not to use them as they don’t work anymore. The car park needs to remove them really.
L.
Park here 4 days a week so its clearly useful for me.
Pros:
Very cheap - can park overnight here for £5 if you don’t need access to your car overnight
Great location for both city and universities
Always a space - practically empty when you go to level 9 upwards
Can use contactless on barrier on way out
Cons:
Closes way too early, especially on weekends
Dark and dingy - could do with some white paint
A. P.
I've not had any problems with this car park, it's the car park I use all the time to park and walk into the centre. There's plenty of spaces and if you pay for your ticket in the machine on the way back in, then the barrier always lets me out without having to lean out the window and put the ticket in. Once the ticket is paid you then have 15 minutes to leave the car park. It does shut at 8pm, so it's not good to park in if you plan to be out later then that and it opens at 6am.
L. W.
Great price for parking - spaces a bit tight for bigger cars.
L. P.
Always a go to for carparks in Liverpool, 2 min walk from the centre and cheap for a day space
A. M.
All good about car parking place.
Enough spaces and great price for all day park, and just close to the market, trains station and bus station as well.
R. W.
One of the cheapest car parks in the city. The entrance is on Level 1, but the exit is on Level 7 facing another street.
This was the first time I use this car park, and I was so confused as initially my car navigation brought me to the street where I saw the exit but not the entrance.
As the exit is on Level 7, it can also be a bit confusing to find the correct way to leave for the first time, so better drive slowly and carefully. The exit gate takes contactless.
No complaints given how much it charges for an all-day parking, but it would be perfect if it closes a bit later than 8pm.
F. L.
One of the best valuable and space parking place in Liverpool city Center!
K. R.
Cheap all day parking.
5 mins walk to the shops
Opposite the Adelphi
D. W.
The place itself is just horrible. Out of date lifts, urine stained corridoors, narrow ramps. This places saving grace is that it is super cheap and right in the city centre. Plus there is always somewhere to park as there's so many floors. Four out of five is pretty good but location and price bump it up.
J. S.
It's definitely good value parking: £5 for a whole day, right on the edge of the city centre, and so many spaces that I never have trouble finding an empty one. However, there's only one exit, so getting out at home time can require joining a very long queue. It took me 20 minutes to leave once! And the pay machines are not reliable. They're frequently out of order, and I was charged twice on one occasion.
S. D.
Very very cheap car park, the cheapest I could find in Liverpool anyways. It does look a little worn down and needs a face lift. The elevators need a little work on aswell as they are very very slow. However, very cheap and close to the city center. Also, plenty of car park spaces in there aswell, you will always find a place to park at the Mount Pleasant Car park. I would like it to be 24/7 though instead of having to get my car out by 8pm which does seem a little early
R. K.
Decent enough car park and certainly one of the cheapest in the city and close to the centre too. But of a maze inside with some tight turns so I just headed straight to the top floor to save the hassle of finding a space lower down - it does get busy. Its a shame it closes at 8pm, but it's far better than open car park opposite.
Another visit:. Pay machines now accept cards and it's pay on exit, so you only pay for what you use, not on a guess. Welcome improvement.
K. T.
Not too far from the centre of Liverpool and Liverpool One all day parking for £5 this car park was and is ideal for shopping and the various eating an drinking establishments round about with the Adelphi Hotel situated across the road on Brownlow Hill.
Just be aware of the drivers who have no concept of speed or safety in a car park!!
d. w.
Great location for city centre and only £5 for all day.
Car Park is looking shabby and updating
D. S.
Excellent price for a city centre carpark
S.
I really appreciate this car park..can always find a spot and it's really close to the centre of town yet is reasonably priced..a few more pay stations dotted about would be good though
M. K.
Decent car park close to the city centre. Parking spaces are available even during busy times. Slightly narrower ramps so need to be extra careful going up the levels. Exit is at level 7 which might be slightly confusing for the first time user. Recommended
N. U.
Convenient , was cheaper , was better. This car park used to be cheaper and the ticketing system was much better with ticket machines on every floor . Now some fool has decided to bin that and install just a few ticket machines on the ground floor . I think this place has 10 floors ? The end result is massive queues at the ticket machines . Can you fix it please ?
B. B.
Wow it's just what it says on the tin n cheap to say your in a city centre 5*
S. H.
Close to the city centre and very reasonable charges make it ideal for a quick visit into town.
It has recently changed from pay n display to a barrier system where you take a ticket upon entry and pay at a machine before leaving. Cash only at the machine but the attendant told me I could pay with a card at the exit barrier but I paid cash at the machine before going to my car.
I paid £2 for about 2 hours and it was still £4 for over 4 hours as it was when it was pay n display.
T. L.
Nice place to park 👌
M. B.
Reasonable prices but very busy.
B. C.
Used to be worthy of 5 stars until they introduced the number plate recognition cameras/barriers and contactless payment.
They often screw up and then you're waiting in a queue to get in or more likely to get out. The old system was better even if you had to walk to another level to get a ticket.
The only saving grace is it's £5 for the day otherwise I'd go elsewhere now.
S.
Great parking prices but only one of four elevators working
P. R.
Cant quite believe i am doing a review on a car park but here goes.Mount Pleasant car park is next to the Adelphi Hotel and is 5 minutes walk to the City Centre. Its not the most modern of car parks but the charge reflects this £5 to park all day.Park here on a regular basis when visiting Liverpool and never had any problems.A new barrier system is now in place from the end of June so car park is no longer pay and display. Two things to be aware of it does get busy especially during the week and the second point is that it closes at 8pm.Card or cash payments available. It may look like a concrete jungle but is much cheaper than Liverpool One especially if you are spending the day visiting Liverpool.Disabled parking is available and lifts can get you up/down from the higher levels. Would highly recommend and well worth my 5 star review.
L. P.
It's a fairly good car park, though it appears quite seedy externally. It wasn't immediately obvious how to pay, but it represents good value at £5 for the whole day.
H. B.
It's a car park. So nothing to rave about.
The ground is gravely.
They use ANPR so be sure to enter the correct information.
No card on the machine but you can pay by phone and app.
Seems to work with app.
Price seems fair for 6 hours in a city.
Not the best looking or well kept but it serves its function.
I would recommend you take a little extra care getting about if you need wheels or sticks here but should be okay.
M. B.
Good car park, very popular so ended up on top floor £4.00 for the day was excellent value, we used the app "phone and pay" from Google play to pay as the machines (pay and display) only take coins, no change given. Near the centre of town can't go wrong.
L. K.
Inexpensive, central,safe but scruffy
M. P.
When in Liverpool...
One of the cheapest car parks to use when in Liverpool, only £5 for 24hrs, cheap as chips, and as an added bonus, it's right next to the town centre, and for those looking for overnight secure parking, it even gets locked down from 8pm at night, so your car is secure, I use it every time I come to this great city.
l. b.
Decent place to park close to city centre, you can pay at the barrier which is easier than finding the waypoint.
S. H.
This car park is really sketchy. It is the best car park to use for the Universities. But it is a uphill walk to get there. I once was harbouring a python in my back pocket and I had to run into the Engineering Building to curl out King Kong's finger. But it's really cheap there. Highly recommend.
S. W. G.
The bad thing is timing. The parking is closed 8 pm.
P. W.
Good place to park for a wander round Liverpool
S. S.
Secure multi storey car park located in central location offering exceptional value parking. Only potential drawback is that it isn't open 24hrs, but if you want somewhere safe to leave a vehicle overnight this is a great choice. Has 4 EV charge points, which are limited to a maximum 4 hour stay only, and only whilst vehicle is being charged. Can also pay via cash (pay and display), phone or mobile app, so couldn't be easier.
M. W.
Excellent location but in a very poor condition
m. r.
Good secure car park, always really busy and not too expensive for being in the city centre, could do with all the lifts actually working and it’s abit tight if you’ve got a longer car
J. O.
used for 2 days arriving at 13:21 on the Tuesday leaving 09:00 Thursday total £7.40
car Was parked safely and carpark locked on a night
would definitely use again
M.
This car park is well placed to access many of the main shopping areas in Liverpool if you don't mind a 5 - 10 minute walk. There are quite a few levels up and it can be a bit tight in places so if you have a silly big 7 seater 4x4 beast you may get stuck. For the majority with normal size cars you'll be fine.
Prices are very reasonable for a few hours to a whole day. It doesnt stay open that late so make sure to check how when you park up.
One of the best central car parks.
I. P.
Great car park for shopping in the city. Not overpriced and safe to leave your car here. Used it loads of times.
R. F.
It's my favourite car park when having a day out in liverpool. Sure it's a bit away from the big shops and museums, but the walk is part of the day out! The ticketing system has changed since my last visit, instead of the old machines on every floor, you collect a ticket on entry and it clocks your number plate. The big downside to this is that there is only 1 area where you can pay your fee! As I took the stairs due to Covid and not wanting to join a lift que, I realised I had to pay down there, luckily I hadn't got too far up! It'd be nice if the machine was also located on the entrance to stairwells as well. Can't imagine it would be a Pleasant mistake to make dragging kids behind you!
A. M.
Municipal carpark close to city centre. Left car in whilst visiting friends. Cctv coverage and upper floors locked overnight between 8pm-7am which was good for us as more secure and didn't need access to vehicle. Very good value £4. Per 24 hours.
D.
A concrete hell, complete maze with large parts fenced off. Understand there are plans to demolish. Pay and display, but think it doesn't do card? You can also do pay by phone. Gets busy but large capacity. Good location for University and Liverpool Central station end of town. Can't recall prices but as Council operated probably reasonable.
D. W.
You don't get charged/fined for leaving your car over night. It didn't specify anywhere on the website or on the signs so it was a pleasant surprise that I didn't get charged!
S.
A good place to park as it is near to the shops, pubs, cafe's and restaurant's. Last time there it was £4 a day to park. O.K. It's a bit old and the lifts look like they arrived with the Ark. But at least they have lifts to get you up and down. Saying that it is good value in this day and age.
I. o.
Great place to park in city centre.. great location, lots of space, good price for parking in the city... Good location for city centre, lots of places to eat around and not far from both of train stations... It's a win win for parking..
S.
Check the date of this post.
Mount Pleasant Car Park now operates ticket barrier system. Get a ticket as you enter.
Price: £1 per hour and £4 all day parking.
To pay : there are pay machines only on the ground floor taking card, Contactless and cash. You can also pay on the exit BUT Contactless only.
The bays are big enough for estate type cars.
Electric charging facility on the first floor for upto 4 cars.
D. W.
Bit run down and under the weather, but a well located and seemingly safe car park, at a great price, nicely situated for access to the city. Be aware there only appears to be one machine in the building that accepts cards, they do however offer a pretty good app that can be used in almost any of the city centre parking locations.
D. K.
not a bad carpark reasonable price as well was in there for 2 hours and was only 2.40 ..
A. W.
Good place to park, many levels and quite cheap.
If you can get past how dark the place in, but that is just the nature of a concrete multistorey car park.
Will go back again as it is extremely good value for all day parking.
ك. ب.
I use it everyday so easy to park because I go before 8am .but around mid day so busy.
The 9th and 10th floor a bit complicated to get out of it.
J. P.
It's a car-park. Not much more to say.
It seems secure in the time that I've been using it.
Regular patrols by wardens - I've been stung twice for my ticket/permit being face-down on the dashboard - the rules say that it needs to be readable. £25 fine - not fun.
J. L.
Great place to park £4 all day big multi story car park. The machines only take cash/coins no notes. Not 24 hour though i think it closes at 20:00.
L. J.
Centrally placed for easy foot access to most parts of Liverpool city centre. Reasonably priced Local Authority car park in comparison to more expensive private car parks. It gets busy during the weekdays and you have to look for a place.
P. M.
It's not exactly the king of car parks. It's not clean, well lit and fragrant like the Liverpool One multi-storey but it's cheap. £4 for all day. The machines often break causing people to swear and treat them roughly ...so I pay by phone.
The lifts are cranky, dislike carrying more than four people at a time and feel 'rusty' but there are stairs, poorly lit, winding stairs but it's your choice.
Located in a part of the city centre away from where you need to be. So you will have to either walk up Mount Pleasant (take oxygen supplies if pos) or down into town.
Remember though, it's cheap
W. D.
Park here regularly for work. Building is in a bad state and looking it's age. But.. Cheapest parking by far in city center.
Needs more signs on how to exit for pedestrians, its a maze in there!
S. A.
Great price, me as new driver my suggestion is to have one level for example level 7 for new drivers with bigger space to park.
A. C.
Cheap council run car park, £4 for all day untill 8pm closing time. Uses the phone and pay option if no cash. Very old and needs updating, but this would inevitably increase parking price.
P. C.
Excellent value for all day parking and only 10 minutes walk to main attraction. Don't bother looking for spaces at the Lowe levels. Go straight up to 10 and you should be fine.
D. U.
Best place to park your car.easy to get into and to get out off when going into city centre and other best thing is the price £5 for all day parking beats N P parking hands down.
E. R.
Easy accessible car park and only £5 a day ! Bargain
R. 7.
You can park all day in liverpool city centre for £5. This place has a bad rep, but you really cannot complain for the price 👍🏼
S. A.
Good space, reasonable price.
i.
Quite cheap parking here, £5 all day, just a bit of a maze to get out, when it changed ownership, took a while to realise you have to pay at the exit
A. S.
Good centrally placed car park. Not a bad price either. Only criticism is that it is a little dark in places.
M. C.
Close to city centre, only £5 for a whole day, car park closes at 8pm.
B. L.
Good value car park , always has spaces and you can even pay via app! Just a tip however - if you are parking after 09:00 onwards just head straight up to level 11 and get the lift
Z. A.
£5.00 all day. City Centre car park. Plenty of spaces. Can't go wrong.
J. W.
Perfect for getting close to city centre
l. b.
It's not on a mount and it's not pleasant but it's local to all amenities and well priced. Also the car park for the Cancer hospital with free bus service to the hospital.
S. F.
Easy to use, £5 for all day in Liverpool can't complain at that.
5 min walk and you're in the center.
A. W. #.
This place could do with a little clean but nether the less, this is a faily large car park with reasonable prices. We have always used this car park because of its location and won't be stopping anytime soon.
E. A.
Very convenient for the city centre and doesn't cost silly money like the John Lewis car park. 🚙
M. K.
Close to the centre and reasonably priced.
K. D.
It's cheap and in a decent location, although if you want to go to Liverpool One, Albert Dock etc, they're about a 15 min walk away. It's a weird setup in there too, as it's built on a steep hill you go in on floor one, and exit on 7.
B. B.
Great place to park for shopping. In the centre of town and reasonably priced.
M. W.
Standard car park. Affordable. Good access to the centre and the university's
D. K.
Only 4£ for entire day near the city center! The parking is quite wide but on long cars (class D+) better to be extremely careful.
J. W.
Plenty of spaces and very good price compared to other places to park in Liverpool. However the stairs and lifts are filthy and stink. This really lets the place down. More like 'Mount UNPLEASANT' car park!
P. “. M.
Easy to get to, very reasonable parking charges. Feels safe and secure. Always find a space. Lifts in need of overhaul.
M. A.
Cheap place to park but if you go mid week go early as it fills quickly. Also shuts promptly at 8 and any car after this is locked in.
C. L.
Pay and display car park. Very reasonable prices. Not 24 hours though so be careful your car doesn't get locked in over night!
Y. K.
The parking was fine. But place is very dirty.
J. C.
Great value £4 for day and quite near city centre. It is a concrete multi storey and can feel a bit intimidating on stairs hence the cheap price point
K. S.
Cheapest car park in Liverpool that we could find. Unfortunately closed due to a nearby fire. We have stayed previously.
G. D.
Multi storey car park, kept clean new paying system easy to use ,just keep hold of your ticket , not pay and display anymore .
V.
It's probably the only car park in Liverpool that's not a rip off. Very central, good location.
A. S.
Difficult to find where to pay. It needs more signs to provide information. It is a bit dark and inhospitable - not a good place for anyone vulnerable to walk around
T. K.
Relatively cheap 24 hour car park. Surface very uneven and stony.
A. F.
Very reasonably priced. Plenty of spaces buy could do with the section which is currently closed reopening to help at peak times.
Very close to the main parts of the City such are LJMU and Lime Street is in walking distance (about 10 mins walk)
Z. H.
Great car park, cheap too which is always a plus just make sure if you're using the app to pay put your reg correctly.
K. M.
Changed how you pay, much more streamlined and still very good value to park all day. Still dark and univiting
M. D.
Could do with a bit of paint job but can't really knock it at £5 all day on a Saturday in a City centre
M. M.
Great place to park, it's just you park up and take a ticket and pay later, so it's a perfect setup
P. S.
Bit dirty like, but can’t argue with £4 for all day parking. Easily accessible and short walking distance to all the major shopping areas.
L. O.
Council owned multi storey car park, City centre parking for £5 all day, can't go wrong.
T.
Bit confusing for first time, had to ask where pay machines were, but can't knock the price, very cheap for city parking
D. A. C.
Inexpensive but pretty shabby
B. K.
Lots of floors. Always manage to find a spot and price is good too
B. D.
Plenty of space for parking but don't know what it is like during a proper working week
R. B.
Central and easy to use
p. s.
Great price for the day easy to find and plenty of parking spaces
L. S.
Easy access carpark for that part of liverpool. £4 all day parking isn't bad either and you can pay via your phone too
L. M.
It is spectacular and very close to the center and the price is the best, they charged me 5 pounds for a whole day, fantastic. 😍
J.
Great cheap safe car park £4.00 all day very clean excellent.
S. B.
Glad to see they have switched their payment to card payments, no more trying find pound coins also £4 for all day parking in liverpool city centre is a bargain
R. L.
Handy if you want to leave your car overnight. Decent price in general compared to most. Gets busy though.
A. G.
Reasonable price for all day parking here and near to the city centre.
A. O.
£4 for a day's parking, good value and a contribution to the city as it's run by the council.
S. F.
Ideally situated for Liverpool City centre. Used in conjunction with clatter Bridge Cancer hospital shuttle bus.
L. L.
Car park built in the 70s never been updated..but its cheapest around at £4 for all day stay bargain in liverpool
K. N.

J. R.
Old but big and functional
A. g.
Parking all day £5 used to be £4 but everything going up
M. L.
Reasonable price. £5 for the day. Close to the University
D. H.
Confusing pay system. Ticket dispensed on entry but ticket-issuing machines also on each floor. Which do you use?
b. c.
Good low cost parking in a somewhat unappealing building. Shame it closes at 8pm.
L. H.
This car park is in a great location and is great value for money.
P. M.
This is a multi story car park. Plenty of spaces. Only 4 pounds for all day parking.
D. D.
Needs a bit of work on the great big holes but cheap enough for the 3 hrs we were there
J. T. M.
Good car park we always use it, very cheap and right in town

Top class experience. Staff were really helpful when needed.

G. J.
Great location. Always room. Good value £4 per day
s. c.
Best place for disabled parking right by the lift and out of floor 7 exits to road home
C. H.
Good value parking just on the edge of liverpool city centre
M. Z.
Busy, busy but only a fiver for all day so a bargain
u. B.
Decent price but there is some people that park there which I don't think they should be allowed out or be in charge of a motor
L. M.
Its handy for town n is quite cheap too.
Prob 5 min walk if that from main shops.
M. N. C.
Not the most beautiful place, but the most convenient if you're going to Liverpool centre. Also the least expensive
I. A.
Value for money if your visiting Liverpool city centre.
