Reviews of Agnes Riley Gardens

Lovely place to walk your dogs, play with your loved ones and let the kids run out their energy.
Would go multiple times a week.
Generally alot to get out of one "Garden" a giant park where you can talk a walk with loved ones and soak in the enviroment.

Great little Park in Clapham Park. It has a fenced football pitch and 2 fenced basketball courts. There is a pond and a children's play area. There is also a grassed area for picnics, sunbathing etc. There seems to be toilets, both men and women's, but when I went there recently they were both padlocked shut, which is a real inconvenience. Would I go out of my way to visit this park, no I wouldn't, if I lived in a flat locally, yes I would, especially for the activities available for the local children. Nice and clean park c/with children play area. Football pitch also available.
K. D.
Nice place, just needs updating a bit, but my son is quite happy playing here with friends when it's not too busy.

Other than being a little bit dated, the park has a lot of play areas for kids of different ages, but probably up to 5-6 max.. our 4.5 year old really enjoyed all the games and could do them at a good level of challenge for her.
G. C.
Small park with caged football pitch and a small playground for children.
S. K.
Always lovely atmosphere.. fresh and clean play area for kids and grass.
C. A.
Nice little park. Handy for dog play - never too many around but lots of space and corners if you need them to play alone.
F. A.
Nice playground and green space to go to after nursery. Limited activities for young toddlers. (More suited for older toddlers in my ipinion). The soft floor in the play areas could use a refurb.
M. “. K.
Great place for a day out with children! big grassy area for your picnic,a little pond for your children to explore, two fenced pitches if you want to kick a ball for a bit and a massive playground with a small paddling pool. Although the playground itself has slightly older equipment and the toilets need renovation, it is still a great place for family fun! There is also a One O'clock Club in the park- little house, where you can take your little one for stay and play, especially if the weather is not good. Absolutely love coming here with my boy and his friends!

A nice local park with separate football and basketball courts and enough green spaces to allow for picnics and a few benches dotted around. Also has a very shallow outdoor pool for use in summer which is great when kept clean for young kids and toddlers to splash in. Lambeth did a light refurbishment prior to lockdown and so more for the kids to play with.

Great little local park, playground is a bit dated but a nice mix of people. A nice community park I've been coming to for over 40 years, first as a child and now with my own children.
P. S.
Community gardens really coming together with volunteer Alex's help.
Would've been a shame if it remained neglected bug looks like it's enormous potential will be realised. Should be properly thriving with produce and ornamentals come the summer.
Good to see the sports courts are getting well utilised as well.

Can imagine it was lovely when first made. Still has good playground equipment but the pond is now derelict. Grass for picnics and artificial turf for use outside of popular times.

Nice little urban park, with kids playground next to local housing estate. Football and Basketball caged spaces available. Community garden and wildlife pond.

Dont really do much there but still a good Park

Small park with an artificial turf football pitch and 1 other sports court, plus a children's playground suitable for nursery to primary school kids. The rocky pond is really good for kids in the summer, the playground needs some TLC, but that won't happen without a change of Central government. Friendly atmosphere with a lot of local families.
L. O.
Good park, nice for if you want to play in a playground, or if you want to play football or basketball in big purpose built pitches.
One issue is that the wardens don't bother locking the gates anymore so people can sometimes be heard in the park at night playing football and making noise early in the morning!

It’s a beautiful place with a football pitch and a basketball court. Also has nice playing ground for kids.
J. B.
Lovely space. Great for families or those wanting to have some peace. Ample space for sports with a dedicated football and basketball and a lovely kids playground.
H. S.
Good place to go with kids. OK layground with sandpit, open space for kids to run around and nice little lake with stones so children can climb on them. There was a paddling pool with balls so my charges loved that.
N. B.
My local park since I was a toddler. Learnt how to ride a bike here. Great playground, popular astroturf pitches and God how far it's come from when I was growing up! (It was never that bad, but it's impressive now)
L. W.
My daughter has always enjoyed playing here, there is a lovely common not too big but good to have a picnic or meet up with friends.

You know looking at this place from the outside or just entering for the first time you may be mistaken for thinking this park is a bit if a dive. But it's not just the park area you have to take into consideration. This place has a vibe..a real nice vibe. Yeah it's right next to a main road and an estate...but the vibe there is soo nice...it reminds me of the vibe I get from time spent in the Nottinghill/Ladbroke Grove area. There are people here...doing their own thing...from every colour under the sun...just doing their own thing. You will almost always see the football court filled with beautiful melanin boys hustling their game. The childrens park area is filled with children from all ethnic groups happily playing and laughing together. The grounds are nice...not too great...but nice enough to walk around...sit on a bench...watch the school children playing on the massive rock in the pond area. You always wonder if any will fall in. Then you hear the shriek of a mother because her child did. You just hope that the child who did fall in and come into contact with the pool water dosent end up with some unknown disease because looking at that pond is very scary...the water is green and theres no movement. But the kids..being kids..have the most fun on a sunny afternoon after school. I can imagine that this park will hold a lot of good memories for the children as they get older. Come along. Take a stroll in the park. Chill where the children play. Hear them laugh...scream...shout. Theres nothing nicer.
No perves allowed though 😤

It's a nice place to be ,I leave in the community ,but unfortunately the place is very dirty at the moment and I no it because of the covid 19 ,I would love to help by cleaning the place if I get tools with support I train in the park this days people come to the park as well to train and rest there mind and I know children will be there as well to have fun soon ,it really need improvement .I will be glad if I hear from you .thank you

Been going here since the 80ties, and it was great then bar the huge clay like football pitch.
Today the huge pitch is two very good pitches; artifical grass football pitch and a tarmac basketball/football pitch.
The issue here is the children's play area is a mix of old when I was a kid equipment, removed equipment and very tired poor quality replacements that have seen better days.
For a affluent area like Balham and million pound houses near by. The council estates are now mostly working professional hot spots, I am surprised more investment isn't made.
Grassy areas and the old pond could do with some landscaping. Children play area needs the most work, which has a huge space for interesting equipment/rides, even excersize equipment for adults.
Maybe it's me looking back to how it was, just a shame it can be so much better.

Toilets are shut all the time now. Two full size football pitches, 1astroturf,1 rubberised tarmac. Nice play park/swings for youngsters. Small clean grass area. Community allotment,
meeting Sundays 11-2. As a park it is fenced & gated, locked sundown Sometimes. There are plans for volunteers to unlock/lock toilets. Allotment going well, easy to get involved don't have to do much, come & eat the sorrel Please!! We've got blackcurrants this year doing well, always some salad leaves available & herbs All Fresh, no insecticide used. Bee keeper has moved away but they were never a problem. See you Sunday 🤠
H. V.
A small but nice local park. Good playground with a range of equipment but not very modern. Very popular multi-use pitches
F. B.
It could be a much nicer park with a bit more maintenance... The pond is nice, but full of rubbish. The kids splash pool hasn't been working for a while.
E. Ö.
Absolutely amazing, my kids loved it, now they want to go there all the time
G. C.
Guess what? Cuts threaten this place, but I am sure that they will win through. A pleasant well kept park with a gardening corner. Here, you are invited to pick what you want. Their lettuce is good.
L. M.
Very well looked after park, great for short dog walks. Great kids playground area and astro turf football pitch.
M. T.
Love to walk my dog her ein the mornings. Not too big and lots to explore for him. Users of the football pitch could litter less though :/
S. S.
Nice small park. Has a astro turf football pitch, basketball courts and children's playground.
K. N.
Good place for going after school its always has school kids after school but its never too busy also has a big pond filled with large rocks for people to climb on and the pond is not deep if u was to accidently fall
J. W.

J. D.
The kids play ground is looking old and worn out. But the new 5 aside foodball pitch is brilliant.
J. D.
Had to struggle keeping child out of pool so suggest bringing change of clothes in case they slip trip or fall in had to be on guard as there is no barriers round it
J.

(Translated) The games are not in excellent condition but are differentiated and stimulating for children. The area is quite large with the park next to it and ball fields and basketball courts. Unfortunately there is a maintenance that starts to be lacking and needs voluntary contribution. It would be better to re-evaluate it and not let it decay until it is closed because it is very popular, being surrounded by many schools
(Original)
