Reviews of Archbishop's Park
麵.
The sign of the park wasn’t obvious that was hard to find on Lambeth Road.
But if you get into the park, you would feel peaceful. It was so amazing.
On the way out to St Thomas Hospital you will be seeing girls or kids playing football.
When going back to Lambeth Road throughout the park at night, the gates where facing St Thomas Hospital was closed at 5:30/6:00pm. The information here in Google map isn’t correct.
G. P.
Very good place for family day out. Perfectly for the evening cause you can see the beauty of lights here . Recommend. Check the opening hours before travel to this place .
A. K.
Really fantastic park with an excellent playground for my toddler. There is also really nice football grounds and tennis courts so certainly great facilities for all ages. It's a 5 min walk from St thomas hospital so while mom was doing a test which took a few hours, I was on baby sitting duty so was very appreciative of this park and the Gail's on Southbank to keep the little one busy. Made excellent memories for years to come. Playground has all sorts of swings and slides and most importantly wasn't too busy on a Saturday morning!
R. A.
This has been my favourite park in London for over three years now. The 4G football pitch is the best of its kind for the grassroots game and has always been well maintained by the great staff on site.
L. O.
Nice local park that comes alive in spring/summer. Well looked after.
S. K.
Excellent Park just across the road from st. Thomas's Hospital, a large number of picnic benches, plenty of benches around the park, a really good children's play area, nicely kept flower beds, really good astro turf football pitch, tennis court, nice relaxed feeling very enjoy London Park
S. H.
Somewhat hidden park with carpets of spring bulbs, great kids playground and lots of courts etc for hire. Really lovely atmosphere.
R. L.
Lovely park lush mature trees and other plants give the park a more natural feel. There’s a really nice playground for kids as well as tennis courts and a football pitch. Toilets were free and fairly clean. Not a huge park but beautiful
C. G.
Great space for Children to play. The park features a sandpit which is of a good size there is lots to do from swings to slides to rocks to climb and animal wooden sculptures was also surprised there was a ping-pong table tennis courts football pitch and a pond great spot for family picnics.
I feel the park could benefit having clearer signage within the pathways.
N. B.
Huge kids play area, nicely maintained and clean. A lovely park just a stones throw from the attractions of London Eye etc
s. g.
Great little park appropriate for families. There are a lot of activities. Fitness equipment, table tennis tables, tennis court (better fitness archbishop park), football courts and cjildrens playground with equipment for small and big children. Warning there is a sand pit. It also has small covered sitting area. The park does have toilets but they were closed at time of my visit (april).
M. H.
Keep an eye out for the park entrance as it was a small alley way. Otherwise a nice park hidden away. Nice play area for the children. There are also tennis courts and football pitches. A shame there was no cafe
I. Z.
Nice place perfect for a walk with friends or family especially the kids area's wonderful. I felt in love with the wooden seat behind it which is so beautiful and has an amazing architecture.
J. F.
Great park lots of fun things to do fo the whole family picnic table tennis and tennis
T. L.
Archbishops Park Lambeth London SE1 is a lovely green space situated near Lambeth North and Waterloo stations. It is perfect for playing sports thanks to the football pitches and tennis courts. The children’s play area is very good. The park has a relaxed and laid-back vibe. It’s undoubtedly a pleasant place to meet a friend, eat your sandwiches, let the kids play or get involved in sports. There is a free Gardening Club which is open every Friday from 1.30 pm until 4 pm. Refreshments and tools are provided so rock up and take part. The Gardening Club Hut is by the Carlisle Lane entrance. The Tuckshop Tanner Statue (Lizzie Lambert) is near the outdoor table tennis. The bronze sculpture is by artist Jessica Wetherly. It is designed to symbolise human kindness. Look out for the sixpence on the belly which you rub for good luck. The sculpture stands on the former site of a tuck shop which was run by women who gave sixpence to children on their birthdays.
E. A.
Nice little park with some open grass area. There's an area for kids to play in. Great and maintained football pitch there. I had the opportunity to visit there for Zip World London, so I was able to see the view of London from above the trees.
M. L.
A little oasis for the children just behind St.Thomas's.
Plenty of swings, slides, climbing frames and sand.
Picnic tables and a nice clean area although toilets were closed.
A. F.
A great facility to play tennis ( courts run by BETTER) or just pass a lazy lunchhour reading on one of he many benches, under a giant plane tree.
m. b.
Nice walk if you need to clear your head from the hospital. Clean and well kept. Grass areas seating. And shaded seating. With gym and play equipment. Toilets facilities on site but unknown if they are open all day.
K. D.
one of the best 8 aside football pitch in the heart of London, near Waterloo and Westminster station
j. r.
Very nice park just across the road from St Thomas hospital. Lots of green space to sit in the sun or shade and a big park for the kids to let off some steam!
P. M.
Super place for kids and adults to spend some time with family.
A.
Fantastic small city park with amazing kids playground and AstroTurf pitches for football. Small nature garden. Very well kept and peaceful in the mornings !
O. O.
I went to Archbishop’s Park for zip lining. It’s a lovely park. There’s a tennis court and about 3 play areas for your kids. There’s also an ice cream van. I’d definitely recommend this park for a day out with the family or friends. There’s the occasional screaming of people going on the zip line but that just adds to the fun. Haha
V. T.
Good park with sports facilities and a big playground for kids.
S. T.
Pearl of a park hidden away centrally across the river from Westminster. Lots of free picnic tables, tennis courts, soccer fields, cricket boxes, and a zip line in summer. How good!
G. S.
Here's a great place to take your kids for the park sit down picnic's with is quiet and out of the way
H. K.
Great playground and park..shame the toliets are not open.
Would benefit from a coffee/tea stand. But there is some lovely shops a short walk from the park.
P. b. 3. c. (.
Great facilities on site here at the park from football pitches, tennis courts, cricket lane, to a large kids playground suitable for all ages right through to clean and safe public toilets which are looked at throughout the day.
Great for a day picnic too

J. L.
A beautiful London park. Tennis, football, playgrounds, table tennis, outdoor gym and more. Beautiful!
G. R.
Nice Park opposite St. Thomas Hospital and Westminster Bridge with Tennis courts and Wooden Installations around the park
R. K.
I like the kids playground most. It may keep your children busy all day long
C. C.
Great park with good facilities, and a nature trail tucked in the corner
G. W.
Beautiful park with a playground for children and sports facilities.
M. T.
Small but lovely little green space.
D. M. L.
Beautiful park well kept with toilets, children's play area, a shelter and lots of plants etc
a. p.
Nice park .keeped in very good order by park staff. Good play equipment for children and clean tolet's .great place to get away from the hustle of London life a 5 kin walk from Westminster Bridge
E. M.
Quiet park, a bit hidden away from the main road, with playgrounds in the middle and good route for running in circle
R. W.
This is my local park. I love it. Bumping (not literally at the moment) into neighbours and seeing the squirrels and birds. You can buy honey produced by bees visiting the park and homemade apple and garlic chutney from parks own grown supplies (only on a Friday).
M. S.
A nice little park to walk through and watch some reasonably goodish football. You should see squirrels if you keep your eyes open and the Millenial Walk plaques are worth looking at with inquisitive children!
G. M.
Nice local park with friendly atmosphere.
Tennis , football, children safe play area and couple of times a year zip wire. Dogs friendly park.
J. M.
Football fields are well maintained and also the zip line looks fun! Close to central London.
C. M.
Good Park with all facilities. We spend a great time together with my son.
C.
Love going to this park for my lunches. There's always a bench free. Well maintained park too. The public toilets are closed however.
L. C.
Amazing park! It has everything! Green spaces, covered seating area, outside 'gymnasium', a rather large children's play ground, tennis /basketball courts AND public conveniences! By a 'de facto' London Park standard its quite a small park but considering the various facilities it has within its confines it still retains a five star rating from me!
C. B.
The park itself is lovely and the grounds are well maintained by Southwark Council.. However, the facilities are managed by Greenwich Leisure Limited, or 'Better' as they like to be known, and are very poor at providing services to the public. Don't expect bathrooms or outdoor gym equipment to be available.
R. S.
Lovely play area and oark in city centre. Toddlers loved it. Also has tennis, table tennis, football areas with outdoor exercises. Definitely worth a visit.
T. R. J. (.
Not huge but great for sport with tennis court and football pitch. Nicely located
C. C.
Great park with a fun playground for kids, picnic tables and some gym equipment for grown ups.
L.
Great playground for kids under 10 years. And bookable football pitches, cricket training strips and tennis courts. All outdoors. Toilet facilities available too!
V. L.
Lovely park, nicely kept great play area for kids.
S. P.
Playground is nice but would say its better for under 10 year olds. 10+ may get bored. But nice park to ride your bike/scooter in. And is close to the river Thames
A. P.
Zip world. Thrilling and fun.... Be prepared for the climb to the top. Makesure you look around while zipping down the wire.
G. M.
Nice quiet park away from the normal London madness, unless you want to ZIP..
N. P.
Great hidden gem. Had three of my children at St Thomas and never knew this park existed until yesterday. Made a picnic, filled water balloons grabbed the 3 kids and off we went. It has an amazing kiddies park tennis courts football pitches and at the back of the park a lovely area to just relax . Saw 4 dogs the whole day. Would highly recommend. Will be going again, but earlier as I didnt use childrens area as it was too busy and impossible to social distant.
Lots of picnic tables .
T. A.
Excellent park with great facilities for football, tennis and cricket. Great play area for children as well.
V. H.
Amazing park, everything for all ages in one place. Tennis, football playback to gymnastic apparatuses they even have a little farm.
Q. J. M.
Beautiful and Very relaxing environment. There are beautiful big trees and many different kinds of birds and little informational boards about them. There are benches alongside the lake, and foldable chairs that you can take to sit wherever you want on the grassy area.
C. L.
Nice place for activities, kids playground
G. S.
I really like this park. It has a playground with swing, slides, sand pit and climbing frames. But it also has football pitches, tennis courts, 2 table tennis tables and an exercise/gym area. It has lots of benches for picnics and grass area aswell. It also has toilets on site that are clean (but right now during covid19 times it has portaloo's.)
L. Z.
Great size kids playground for toddlers and slightly older kids too! My son loves the sand pits and the very long slide. You can easily spend half a day here if you bring packed lunches. There are table and benches in the middle of the playground.
The park in general seems well kept and there is also a zip line experience there for adults.
I'm not sure if there is a cafe in the park though.
A. N.
A really nice park with lots of things to do inside. The park is not very interesting in terms of beautiful sights and is quite small, if comparing with famous giants.
They have some playgrounds there. And what is the best thing about the park, they have a zip line there. Zip line wad just fantastic. You can see lots of different iconic London views from above. And the feelings while moving down you will remember for a long time. I would totally recommend this park for all the activities it has!
K. M.
Great little green space in the heart of London. Loved it.
T. J.
Lovely park to walk round, I did do a Zip line and mega drop here a few years ago.
E. O.
Nice park area in central London with nice new Astro football pitch’s
B. R. W.
Really nice park with big playground.
D. L.
Fantastic facility which should be treasured yet utilised by all locals
E.
Beautiful park in a great location. Just few minutes walking from the London Eye and Southbank.
The sports facilities has just been renovated and changing rooms with toilets have been built. It presents football pitches, tennis courts, cricket area, exercise area.
There's a spacious field with benches and tables, ideal for a lunch in the sun or a picnic.
A fantastic pirate themed play area for kids from birth to 12 years old displaying swings, slides, climbing facilities and a large sand pitch. Parents can relax on the grass or on various benches. Very popular in Spring and Summer.
Dogs can be walked and exercised in the park.
There's also a wild life corner with a pond.
If only there was a cafe would be excellent.
E. A.
Great park with well maintained facilities. Lots of variety of activities for kids. There is also a tennis court, netball n I think football all that you need to book and pay in advance!
D. H.
Such a nice playground :-)
L. F.
Great park! Surprisingly good. Kids loved it! Toilets clean & close. Water fountain useful. Not too busy. zipwires running over head were great fun to watch.
H. R.
A nice park. I work close by so nipped over to have some lunch and do a few emails. Watched the dogs playing with each other
m. O.
Lovely walk in park, open air and fresh air away from cars. Watched some football girls team enjoy my walk.
N. P.
Nice park. Not very big but has lots of stuff to do. There is a kids play area. There are Tennis Courts, football field, cricket nets, and table tennis. The park is now also the home for the worlds fastest and highest in-city Zip Lining as well.
R. G.
Awesome park wide variety
Toilets where a bit weird but all in all its hidden away from the hustle and bustle
P. W.
Quaint little park with a variety of sports facilities. Also includes the London Zip Wire.
M. “. T.
A large and open park just south of the river contains a modern children's play area, and a rather dilapidated concrete pitch surrounded by mesh. The rest of the park is nice though, and provides a good alternative walking route to the roads surrounding.
N. A.
Enjoyed taking my lunchtime break there. Not too much occupied, nice place on the other bank of Thames, almost opposite the Houses of Parliament. It is also near the St. Thomas Hospital and can be easily reached by many buses.
This park is really family-friendly, as it has separate "children and parents only" playgrounds, as well as sport playgrounds, cosy benches and plenty of place to stretch-out. I still hope to investigate it more in future, as it is big enough!
L. T.
Great all round park football ⚽️tennis lots of green space for dog lover's
M. J.
Beautiful and Very relaxing environment. There are beautiful big trees and many different kinds of birds and little informational boards about them. There are benches alongside the lake, and foldable chairs that you can take to sit wherever you want on the grassy area.
S. H.
A really nice little hidden gem of a park. Lots of football pitches and very clean loos!
S. T.
Great little park with several tennis courts, AstroTurf footy pitches, cricket nets and a great kids play park. Artists yard next to park on way to The Cut is well worth a wander around too
C. W.
Gorgeous park hidden away near Waterloo station with an excellent childrens park and lots of open spaces to sit in and soak in the sun.
B. L. 9.
Lovely little hidden gem in such a busy area. Lots of facilities, including tennis courts, astro turf football pitches, changing rooms and separated toilets, large children's playground, lots of picnic tables... Defenetly worth a walking through, even just to clear your head in your lunch break
O. A.
Great open space for sporty activities. The space has a few football fields, a cricket playground and there's a zip line as well. Make sure to check it out,fun stuff
P. K.
This park is awesome. Loads of stuff to play with for kids and adults. There are free showers which are also very nice. There's toilets. It's just all a bit tucked away.
K. B.
Great community park. Chilled atmosphere. I visted to do the Zip Wire.
J. H.
Visited for the purpose of Zip Wiring.
Good experience but did not enjoy the climb up the stairs to zip wire but the view over the park was wonderful. Would visit again. Nice clean park.
P. L.
A real oasis right in the centre of London! This park is quite small, but is a real treat as it is hidden away behind Lambeth Palace, just a stone's throw away from the Thames and just across the river from the Houses of Parliament. Good facilities including safe children's play area, 3G football pitches as well as a couple of tennis courts. Courts and pitches need to be booked, but there is something for everyone here....a bit of peace and quiet away from the busy city!
V. R.
Do not forget that there are a lot of animals in the park, bring all kinds of nuts and seeds, they love it very much.
A. R.
Really enjoyable park to exercise in. Has gymnastics rings and a few bars on which you can do dips. On the far side of the park there's even a water fountain (The drinkable types)
F. J.
Great park. Big and clean. Huge park for kids of all ages. Green and friendly atmosphere. It has a zip wire. They have tennis courts and football pitches.
M. d.
Great Park for family ....nice park for the kids also tennis courts, basketball pitch and a football pitch available. Friendly cafe ....large green area for picnics/playing. Love meeting up with family and spending the day here
B. T.
Lovely park, lots of activities, safe area for younger children to play, even has a room you can book for small parties that opens out onto the park and the toilets are clean.
l.
Lovely, great sand pit, only problem was older children not really taking care around the younger children, but that's the parents fault, not the park. Really clean toilets.
M. B.
Did the London zip wire here, park itself okay
Z. W.
Great playarea for children aged 10years and under. Pity there isn't a cafe but it does have toilets near the playground. Well maintained.
R. M.
Nice 3G pitch, great tennis courts and a nice playing grounds for kids too
J. S.
Lovely park behind Lambeth Palace.
Has a very good playground. Astron turf, tennis courts, outdoor gym equipment, nature garden and large swathes of grass. Nice mature trees. Excellent place to take your dog and children for a romp. Aesthetically pleasing sheltered seating too. The roof is held up with sturdy tree limbs.
In close proximity to Garden Museum, Lambeth Palace, and South Bank.
J. W.
Broad range of sports available (football, tennis, netball etc.), neat and well presented park. Toilets and changing rooms clean and open late when games are on (tag rugby, football etc). And a short walk from Waterloo.
R. B.
Fantastic playground for kids at all ages. good park for adults with plenty to do (football, tennis, zipline). Great place.
K. E.
A very spacious park with various different spaces. A park for children & parents, Football pitches along with goals for keen footballers, Well groomed pathways for joggers & picnic areas for the family
M. C. T.
Although I visited Sunday lunchtime with grandchildren it was packed but everyone kept their distance. Unfortunately there is no coffee shop!
T. M.
A cute little park, the sort of place you only ever pass through. But the path round the middle is almost exactly 500m which makes it good for interval training.
E. S.
This is a hidden gem really. Not far from Waterloo Station with a brilliant, large, well maintained play area for kids. Plus various supports facilities. Good clean public toilets.
M. E. *.
What a beautiful Park. Really well kept. Great looking play area and lots of sports facilities. Also a clean loo! I do hope the community take care of it.
E. B.
Quality astro turf pitches for 8/9 a side football or 11 aside when the pitch's barriers get pulled away. The park is lovely as well and there's a play area for the children. Staff at the pitches are great as well 😀
R. G.
Nice and cosy. Good for mums and dads of small children with its nice playground.
C. B.
Little oasis in the heart of London. What's not to like in a park? Small but perfectly formed with tennis courts and football as well as table tennis and children playground. Just a step away from St Thomas hospital
A. W.
As a Lambeth resident who cycles to work every day at St Thomas hospital, I so appreciate the break that this park gives me. It is beautifully and thoughtfully cared for; a combination of wise, long-standing staff such as Mary and the Friends, and recently the addition of the sports facilities means it is great to see children exercising before school. The recent public private partnership with Zip world is in my opinion, a great example of how local government can improve facilities and sustainability and provide a wonderful experience that was a joy to many including myself. Keep up the good work Lambeth.
H. E.
One of my favourite parks in South London. Lovely playground for kids (pre lockdown) table tennis and tennis courts, secluded and quiet
I. O.
EDIT: The park has since experienced a change in management and no longer can you enjoy the open tennis courts, or any sports pitches at all, for free.
There is no community day that I know of as is so often the case with these booking only facilities (Tabard Gardens comes to mind - Sundays are free) and prices are dearer than at other, better equipped parks (Battersea Park).
The only thing left to do is enjoy the greenery.
--
A recently renovated, well equipped park with plenty of green space to enjoy.
There are two hard courts for tennis and they do not have to be booked despite the signs saying they do - I've turned up countless times to play and have never had an issue.
The football pitch has received a much needed make over - it is now comprised of a stunning artificial grass surface and the pitch itself can be divided for 7-a-side or 11-a-side games. The pitch, understandably, has to be booked for use.
Additional features of the park include an unsupervised children's playground, benches with tables, a gym area and a path suitable for running around.
J. H.
Large park, tennis and football pitches. Kids play area with sandpit. Exercise equipment.
B. H. d.
Great park for all, good choice of play equipment with new zip slide a favourite.
D.
Very lovely little park, looks like a lot of thought has gone in to it and you can tell community was very involved... Very nice for an afternoon out or a quick work break...
M. J.
Nice park in daytime.
Dodgy once the evening sets in (especially winter)😱
K. M.
Hidden little gem of a park. Lots of options for sport, picnics, quiet areas.
K. F.
Went here for the zipwire. That was such fun I would recommend it totally. Staff and incredible and kind, especially when my friend almost lost her bottle and didn't want to go down the wire. Talked her through it and zoom off we went. Thank you all.
S. H.
Beautiful landscape absolutely lovely.
A. O.
It's actually a beautiful place with lots of playful thing for both kids and adults. There's a 5-a-side pitch for football and a tennis court. You will love it when you visit.
h. n.
Nice park, good space for kids, adults and sports
N. S.
I didn't zipline myself but my family did very expensive for just one go on the zipline there is a nice play area for children nearby good loo facilities close to underground
Z.
Public toilet. Changing rooms. Very clean. Water fountain all available. Also female non contact rugby played for any level between 2-4pm. FREE!!! #Lambethrugby
J. N.
Staff we helpful despite my panic attack. In the end I did not zip as my fears were too overwhelming. This was a gif from a friend who did not know I was afraid of heights. As I refused, i felt that my ticket could ha e been transferred to my partner who was present. However this could not be done.l which is disappointing.
R. B.
Kids playground is spacious and clean. New sporta pitches look good. Plenty of bins for your rubbish just not near the gate.
G. B.
Able to walk dog and watch women's football in a safe and pretty park.
B. S.
Very quiet and peaceful. Not many people around when we were there. Has a zip wire features which is unusual. Good coffee too.
M. R. B. F.
Fantastic park in central London near Waterloo station. Wonderful
S. T.
Great place to go to with kids in central London. Tennis courts, ping pong tables, great playground for under 12s. Toilets and a ware fountain.
T. H.
Fairly average park, nothing special. I figured the reason I hadn’t been before was because it’s links to public transport aren’t great. Basically there are better parks to spend your time in!
N. A.
Great park and well thought design. Sandpit with slide its one of the best feature?
D. L.
This is a local park (although very central) of the best kind. The park has a millennium walk with plaques of the history of Lambeth. There are educatoonal nature areas for children and lovely flower beds. New childrens play areas and sculptures have been placed in the park. There are also tennis courts and a sports pitch. Plenty of room to sit and have picnic. Coming from Westminster its a good way to wall to Imperial War Museum or Garden Museum
B. H.
Great place to hide from busy London
H. S.
Very pleasant small park tucked away in a "quiet corner " of central London. Lovely nature garden area which comes into its own in the summer.
B. J.
Simply exceptional Football pitch with Family-friendly facilities! ⚽️))
L. M.
Decent children playground, we visited on very wet & thundery day so can't say too much else.
F. C.
Lots of space and places to sit. Got picnic benches too.
t. e.
Went there to go on the zip wire which was really good. the park seems really nice quite big with lots of facilities
C. O.
Lovely little park with a good kids' section, tennis courts & picnic area.. next to Lambeth Palace...
G. P. M.
The people's park given to London during some very dark times, well things changed and this park is well maintained interesting and sometimes peacefull, there is a cafe a garden center, football, and a place for the kids
S. G.
Underrated park - super spacious with a track area for walking / cycling as well as some tables
L. R.
Beautiful park. Shame #lambeth won't put in any toilets. Where do they think folks will go?
J. L.
They have a garden within the park, bee hives, fruit orchards, you can learn, just do physical activity, when you are mindless with problems, a good hard bit of gardening physical activity wil help mental health, they help homeless , and are looking for interested people including spectrum and LDR people, Friday 2pm till 4pm
P. G.
Lovely park slightly hidden with a great astro turf and tennis courts. Big kids area as well. Loos are next to the office during the day
K. G.
Nice little park to have lunch, kiddies play area, and in summer quite a long zip line
A. G.
Safe play area for children, shame there weren't many more animals around but understandable given the current situation.
S. K.
Lots for children to do especially climbing and slides, although only two baby swings here.
A. K.
Well managed and maintained. Exercise area, football fields, kids play zone, benches and tables. Green grass fields and tidy routes.
L. C.
Great park. Lots of subtle, interesting things to see. Nice environment. Clean. Quite enough.
D. O.
New Zip wire in the park with lots of facilities for sport and children. Not really that quiet park but if you active great.
C. L.
Nice little park with tennis courts and nice little vibe.
D. W.
Tiny but, usefully, has a free toilet that doesn't stink like a sewer. Worth a visit to eat your lunch.
E. C.
Blossoming trees are breathtaking! Flowerbeds await TLC and some professional planning perhaps?
T. B.
