Reviews of London Fields Lido
O. B.
This place is the real deal. Such a fantastic setup for everyone - from newbies to social swimmers and triathletes alike. Been a real god send for so many through lockdown / covid times.
Beautiful early Jan swim this morning - stunner!
Worth knowing with 'Better' membership you can swim here as much as you like.
R. G.
What a place! Still not sure how I've been swimming in London since 2017 and only just recently found out about this heated, outdoor treasure. Especially handy for winter outdoor swimmers who might need a break from 5c waters.....
M. B.
I love the lido more than anything else in my area! The staff are kind, friendly and informative and they work hard to make the pool nice for the local community. There is also often food donations for local food banks.
The people who come to swim are just as nice and I feel most part of the London Fields / Hackney community when I'm here.
B. T.
Great 50m outdoors pool! Mostly clean and the facilities are basics but in working order. No changing rooms atm due to Covid but you can use outside showers and cubicles. Would be better if the lane etiquette was respected by everyone but there's always a few Phelps wannabes... ;)
R. T.
Such a great pool - staff are delightful too. Would be great if they could re-open the indoor changing rooms soon though!
j. e.
Nothing like a swim to take you out of yourself. It was busy at 10am on a Saturday, but then there were only three passes left when I booked the Thursday before. Limited shower facilities, due to refurb I think. The water soon warms up when you get moving and it's glorious in the morning sun.
v. d.
Water it’s at a very nice 25 degrees, changing rooms and lockers all around the pool, very good pool to swim enjoying being outdoors(if weather is not too bad)
E. F.
London Fields Lido is absolutely lovely! I'm not a keen swimmer and I hate the cold, but we signed up after Christmas and it's absolutely lovely to go swimming after work!
Bring flipflops or slides for you walk to and from the showers and pool and the heated pool (27°C) is absolutely comfortable as long as you keep moving.
Showers are hot, you can dry your hair in the medical room, the lanes aren't too crowded (in the winter at least).
The changing rooms on the opposite side of the pool have little heaters which you can turn on for a couple minutes per button press, so you don't get too cold even when it's 2/4°C out.
A. H.
Stunning lido, 50m, multiple lanes from slow to fast, heated. Indoor changing rooms currently closed, but there are a few indoor toilets and lockers. Hopefully they'll reopen the changing rooms and showers soon!
y. k.
It is a nice, clean, friendly atmosphere together a very safe with the high standard of service place
N. M.
Great heated pool, can be busy in the lanes and tricky to get a booking at popular times though!
K. S.
Lovely 50m outdoor swimming pool. All lane swimming. It gets very booked up though and can be quite busy these days.
The picture was taken just after the pool opened so it was not empty for long!
A. R.
All the kids playing football which is really nice, lovely parents and nice environment. My son had his first football trial and he loved it.
H. D.
Probably the best lido in London. Love the wide lanes!
R. A.
Great venue for a swim but don't expect to knockout a decent swimming session because 90% of the time it's too busy to do anything but short intervals.
M. L.
A great lido that was recently refurbished. 50m length and water is always at a good temperature throughout the year.
T. B.
Fantastic facility, good opening hours, not too busy and all staff are friendly and helpful
M. P. W.
Love love love swimming here!
Staff really try hard to make a clean safe environment, doing their best to keep open in difficult times.
It’s 50 meters, it’s outside so you get the sun rain sleet and if lucky snow.
It’s like London’s beach with out the sand. And grate swim.
Thanks
D. A.
Lovely outside heated lido.. lanes do get too busy to be enjoyable, despite booking your slot on the app
J. D. 8.
Open 24 hours. Excellent hang out spot with The Pub on The Park to have a beer on the decking overlooking The Fields.
2 children's Playgrounds. Tennis Courts. Swimming at The Lido for heated outdoor swiims.
Basketball Court. Football and Cricket pitches
Outdoor Table Tennis. Outdoor Gym. Wooded area.
With the achingly cool and trendy Broadway Market at one end. Hip bars restaurants and coffee shops.
Book shops. Fashion clothes shops. Organic Grocers.
Barber shops Chemist's.
It really is the place to meet up and have that all important time out in nature.
H. K.
I go here fairly regularly. During the summer it's tough to find a time when it's not busy. Often you have to queue for showers. It's great that it's a full 50m pool but it's weirdly shallow. Lovely pool though, in a great area, ideally placed for going for a pub meal afterwards. Also a nice coffee shop.
S. X.
Enjoy swimming here. Pleasant staff, very helpful and always keep the place clean. Very busy so check daily for booking as places always pop up.
R. H. P.
Love London Fields ❤️
Beautiful green open place
for relax and relaxation .
S. J.
I love this lido. It's great, even in the colder months. It's not overly warm so it doesn't feel like a communal bath, but it's also warm enough to get straight in even on a cool day.
There's nothing better than a swim in the autumnal sunshine.
T. S.
We joint today but the pool was full so must remember to book on future. The staff however were so very kind and helpful! So just for that reason alone I give it 5 🌟
A. H.
Awesome place for a swim. No matter the weather, it's open! Really lovely community and great for serious swimmers.
P. N.
Very nice place to visit. It has tennis courts, playground, plenty of grass and trees, nearby restaurants and pubs, seats... We can easily spend a couple of hours just relaxing in the grass and enjoying the sun, when it's not raining. Highly recommended.
J. D.
Post-COVID outdoor changing cubicles are a bit chilly on a cold day but it's a great pool with nice wide lanes
E. S.
Very busy place but friendly staff, it's a nice place and you can spend some good time with family, and friends! The entry on Friday was 5 pound the only problem is that once you are inside, you cannot go back otherwise you need to queue again and pay the ticket one more time! Place not recommended for smokers. Pool's Coffe bars:the food is not really the best.
D. C.
Great pool, clean, organised, warm, with great cafe attached
J. L.
Lovely place to swim well looked after always a great experience!
g.
London Field's is a nice place to take a walk have drinks in the restaurant go swimming Talk to people but told onto your children. The cyclist are deadly. We have seen two small children knocked down by cyclist.1
l. l.
London Fields is one of Hackney's most popular parks. It's classified as common land due to its history as a site for grazing animals and moving them to market at Smithfield. The park's large grassy spaces are surrounded by London Plane trees. The park holds a Green Flag award - an award given annually to the best green spaces in the country.
The very popular Broadway Market is at one end of the fields and it is particularly busy at the weekends because of the market.
-London Fields has two children’s play areas. One aimed at younger children and one aimed at older children although there is play equipment for each age group in both areas
-Skate park facilities (for younger children)
-Free table tennis but users need to bring bats and balls
-Paddling pool – May - September, 11am - 7pm
-Paddling pool closed Mondays except bank holidays
Please mark this review as Helpful as it deems appropriate.

Clean premises and great spot for a swim. Haven’t experienced it at its busiest so can’t comment on how they manage crowds, but the times I’ve been it’s been really clean and easy to get a locker/shower etc.
C.
I feel so lucky to have this space in London. The pool and changing rooms are clean, and they have a great system to cope with the Covid restrictions. They have changing rooms and showers right next to the pool for ease of use.
M. K.
Beautiful heated lido opened all year around
L. W.
Absolutely loved it! On a visit to London we had decided to book a spot- glad we did. A 50m pool, everything nice and organised. Wish we had a Lido in Newcastle!
Z. H.
Beautiful 50m heated lido. Showers are clean and hot. Absolutely love this lido and would come here every day if I could. When it first reopened after Covid it was really hard to get a slot but it seems to have calmed down now. But no doubt will get busy again as the weather improves. On a sunny day here it feels like you are on holiday. Can't recommend it enough.
K. O.
A really lovely outdoor pool, lots of space! Brilliant in the hot weather, and well worth the fiver entry! Bit crowded but that's to be expected at this time of the year
D. J. M. L.
The swimming pool is great, big and well maintained however I went on a very busy day after work and it was crazy busy! They had to start a policy to keep moving while inside the swimming pool. There was also a queue so better to get your tickets in advance online booking
H. S. (.
Changing rooms still closed but they have poolside showers and changing rooms. Lovely pool. No sunbathing area currently.
A. K.
One of the best parks to go with your friends relax and spend the whole day there. Not big nor small it gives you a good space intimacy. The proximity with Broadway Market and Mare Street is a big plus in order to get the East London vibe needed. Must try.
A. A.
The pool is good and clean, if the toilets are open, it will not be a problem. But I do not think it will give the current season a chance.
M. K.
I’ve lived in the area for 7 years and only got here now - SO SILLY! Amazing facility, super cheap for the value it offers (circa £5!) and well thought through to keep it safe in COVID. Easy and quick booking via the Better app. Can’t recommend it enough. Pro tip: bring a £1 coin for the lockers which I’d forgotten but found one on the floor… karma? :)
S. T.
First time visiting this lido, cycled there, they could do with more bike racks, had to chain my cycle to the railings. There is a pre booking system in place, when I got there it wasn't too busy, I was comfortable able to do lengths for 50 minutes. The showers are really hot.
G. C.
Swimming and local cafe where parents can be close to children whilst having adult space!
Plenty of facilities for cyclyst, with free local parking at the weekends.
The lido has recently been renovated and has two concrete Tennis courts in close proximity where they can be hired or lessons can be booked.
R. J.
Lovely to get out of the heat in a nice outdoor pool. However, mostly laned off so not a very large area for children to splash about. Good value for money.
T. W.
Five stars yes it's a big rating but THEY ARE OPEN. Just got back from my swim and I feel good. There is limited availability but with luck and persistence a coveted slot could be yours. I used to while away summer months here as a kid. The water was unfailingly freezing back then but since it's rebeath it is now heated to a good exercise temp and laned off for swimming. Brilliant!
C. A.
Great venue but quite intimidating if you're not a fast swimmer
J. L.
Price is ok for single swim sessions. 4 stars because swimmers swim in the wrong speed lanes. Slow swimmers go on the "fast" and "very fast" lanes when they should be in the "slow" and "fast" lanes respectively. As a result the "slow" lane is virtually empty, and so very fast swimmers tend to go for it.
E. H.
Pleasant place for an outdoor swim. Friendly, helpful staff.
T. C.
One of my favourite places to go in London. Amazing in Summer and Winter because it’s heated! Cafe is great and the new facilities are much better since it reopened.
N. C.
Outdoor olympic sized heated pool. Great for fitness, but not really suitable for families at the moment. Hard to book a slot as its very popular, but a great venue.
E. P.
Clean and well-organised. During the Covid-19 situation Lockers, showers and changing rooms are only available outside and there are four different lanes depending on your swimming peace (which are temporarily double width to allow social distancing while swimming).
People are being very reasonable so I'm enjoying my swim a lot!
E.
Used to live in hackney and it was always a pleasure to swim in London fields. Friendly staff, clean facilities and timings are well managed throughout the day. Swimmers follow pool etiquette and it’s managed really well by BETTER.
I. A.
Very nice swimming pool, was great day with kids during the heatwave. Currently you cannot sunbathe and also I had to book 5 days in advance.
L. S.
Lovely, swim, pool lovely and clean, changing rooms floor a bit mucky
C. S.
Love this lido so much! Great to be able to swim outdoors in a heated pool, all year round.
Booking system is very organised and capacity feels safe. Be warned you do need to book ahead or keep checking the app in case a cancellation frees up a spot.
C. M.
The Lido is still open under tier 4 restrictions. It feels safe and well organise, with timed slots bookable through the app, a one-way system from the entrance to the pool and from the pool to the exit. Only the outside changing cubicles and outside warm showers are available.most sessions are can't swimming.it is particularly atmospheric at night, swimming under the stars with the steam rising off the water.
M. P.
This park is beautiful, I was visiting my daughter who lives nearby. I live in Devon. The park was bustling with cyclists including families on bikes. Activities for children and families, such as I saw families excercising together, fun, not serious. Football, games, lessons. Great atmosphere. Coffee booth, with delicious pastries, soup etc. Lady selling was good fun. Love this place so much my 2 hours on a bench were interesting, and enjoyed every minute of my people watching here.
D. O.
Love LFL, best pool in Tower Hamlets!
P. B. P.
Oh guys you will be so pleasantly surprised! This place is super clean, water is warm and we totally had so much fun with boys!!! The baby loved it - he didn’t want to leave :)
W. S.
Always great - lovely setting and comfortable place
K. T.
Wonderful park, large and quiet and a lot of places to explore just off Hackney road. City farm is good for children, has a number of playing fields and areas that are just nice to explore.
J. G.
Excellent and friendly customer service from the front desk guy. Well organised and relaxed experience in the pool.
a.
Very clean water and so kind the staff personal Who world there Also olimpic size pool great for trainning
j. g.
My first visit. Lovely pool and I'll be going again. Helpful guards.
G. B.
I haven't been there since the new Lido opened but I'm looking forward to going soon got to get my little nephew swimming ASAP 🏊♂️.
M. x.
Great outdoor pool. It's heated during winter!
c. M.
Great place for a swim, but not as good as the sea.
C. E.
Fantastic pool for outside swimming. Unfortunately gets too busy in the summer.
L. D.
Warm outdoor pool. Clean facilities and friendly staff
A. A.
Just at the top of Broadway market this place is great to hangout with friends after buying some coffee and cake. Easy to get to on bike or public transport.
C. G. D.
Lovely location and gorgeous 50m outdoor pool. Really well organised for Covid distancing - and so nice that there was no aggro at all between swimmers - in fact it was much friendlier than I have found in the past. Fast and slow swimmers all accommodated within a four-lane system that everyone respected. Glorious on a sunny day.
S. E.
Super nice swimming pool, busy, but have found the etiquette to be generally good :)
M. R. R.
Great swim. However only one toilet for all the swimmers isn't good. After May 17th I hope more will be in use.
A. a. R. O.
Heated lido with great set up for Covid safety, friendly staff and everything maintained to a high quality. Come here to swim regularly and love it.
E. J.
Amazing at night, the walk to the pool was very cold but made the pool feel warmer.
Range of lane speeds and wide lanes (overtaking is possible)
Facilities very clean and modern, including good hair dryers.
R. M.
Lovely 50m outdoor swimming pool which was certainly very popular when I was there.
Very helpful staff
L. C.
Went here with a friend on a rainy day in July. It's a lovely place. Friendly staff, clean changing rooms with hairdryers, water was a perfect temperature and plenty of lanes available for swimming. Not too busy (but it would have been much busier had it not been raining, I'm sure!). Lockers take £1 coins which are refunded. I will be back!
A. G.
Really enjoyed this lido, it’s amenities are clean and modern, lots of different lanes for different swim speeds. Changing rooms were good. Only thing is I found the atmosphere really quite frosty - both the staff & swimmers. For such a lovely setting and a positive thing to do I was surprised by the negative vibes. Maybe it’s just London being London?
L. M.
Super cool park where to chill and sunbathe during sunny days. There are lots of trees for shadow spots, too. Near you can leave your bike and secure it with a lock. There is also a pool, with cool opening times.
Lots of people around during weekends.
Super suggested.
J. S.
Great place to swim. Change rooms and loos clean. Pool is kept at a comfortable temperature (note its not actually warm just pleasant) and is kept clean woth mix of salt, UV treatment and chlorine - less harsh then most pools). Stairs or ramp to get into the water. Overall looking forward to coming back! Coffee at cafe strong and delicious!
M. L.
It's okay but needs more cleaning and better provisioned changing rooms, something to make them more family friend (play equipment or water slide anything) as it's just a plain old square. Good for adults only wanting to do some laps I suppose. The staff could be friendlier and more helpful. Perhaps a little more flexible too.
S. W.
Get here early in the summer to avoid the crowds! Good 50m pool, the water is warm enough, the changing facilities are fine and clean, lots of lockers. Really enjoy a morning swim here, I just wish it opened earlier so I could go in the week
C.
Heated outdoor pool (so it is cool rather than freezing). Gets busy at times. Showers but better to bring your own soap as it has usually run out. Hair dryers. They provide a (small) towel for a cost. Changing rooms inside and outside (poolside). Nice staff. Bring a pound for the locker.
K. S.
It’s really hard to book a spot even if you pay for membership! They scam people because sometimes it’s impossible to book.
S. J.
A gem in Hackney Borough is London Fields Lido , London E8 3EU for swimmers who want to enjoy an outdoor dip in a heated pool . Great community feel and welcoming vibe here.
Clean and modern dressing room with spacious lockers ( refundable £1 to use ) but during covid restrictions changing is done outside on poolside so come ready prepared as possible for your swim . There are a few showers on poolside too . Also there is a wonderful take away cafe by the side of the entrance .
M. C.
Quite a few Covid restrictions at the moment; advanced booking, one-way systems, restricted changing room access (understandable). They haven't totally ruined it tho, and it's still good for a swim. Staff trying hard to accommodate in spite of new rules.
U. K.
I had a coffee there and it was very nice. Thank you
H. W.
This is a great facility. So lucky to have it in London and really reasonable price, especially if you're a Better Gym user.
Yes it can get crowded but what do you expect when it's such a nice place to swim ?
I occasionally think there's too many people (peak times or sunny days) but then I'm glad that they are getting plenty of business because it must be expensive to heat a 50m pool!
Friendly staff, good changing rooms always clean and pool is perfect temperature for a strenuous swim without being too cold ! Can't rate it highly enough.
R. B.
A spacious pool with lanes sorted by speed plus a 'general' area (mainly for families). Busy on a hot June afternoon but lane discipline was largely self-enforcing so I didn't get stuck behind anyone too slow or in front of anyone too fast. Changing, showering, and toilet facilities were all good. The cafe/bar looked alright but I didn't try it myself.
A couple of things to note: you can book online and this will probably be necessary at busy times; you need a pound coin for the lockers (which you get back when you return the key), alternatively they'll sell you a pound-shaped token (for a pound, obviously).
C. A.
Heated gem of a pool nestled between the Highrise’s and greens spaces of london fields. Loads of space for bike parking, or cars on the west side. Use the better app to book 1 week in advance (at 6pm).
S. B.
Nice open air lido. Gets busy when it's hot. No beds so be prepared to lie on concrete or paddle round the edge, unless you are of course swimming! Always has multiple lanes with different speeds to suit all swimmers. You can rent towls from here. Changing rooms are clean. I like the outside beach hut style changing rooms adds some charm. Cafe on site.
U. E.
Great place to go for a swim. It gets really busy on hot summer days, so if you do intend on actually swimming some lengths make sure you come here very early in the morning. On cold days you'll be fine most of the day. Another good thing is the pool is slightly heated so it's not too cold I guess.
A. M.
Place was super croweded when I was there, but is a decent place for a swim. Entry is a bit expensive and you might get a slightly better deal at the nearby London Aquatics Centre.
Shower faculties are shared. Lockers require a £1 coin to operate, but it is refundable. The place does look pretty modern and refurnished.
The Olympic sized pool is a nice place to swim and there is a cafe by the pool area. Sunbathing areas are also available next to the pool.
D. E.
Great area. Can see why it is quickly becoming the most expensive place in London to live. The Saturday market is fabulous.
A. T.
Great for some open air swimming. Love coming here where there is proper lane swimming and it hasn’t been too crowded when I have been round. Can’t really see what difference the refit has made though. Quite good self policing as well although always the odd person who doesn’t use good etiquette ie toe tap and move aside.
W. K.
The best lido in London! The pool is slightly heated and so the water temperature is always perfect: not too warm, not too cold, just right. Highly recommend coming on weekdays, as it’s a lot more busy during weekends.
Practical tips: remember to bring a £1 coin for the lockers, your own shampoo and some flip-flops, as no shoes are allowed in the changing rooms and around the pool area.
T.
Idyllic location. A real hit during the summer.
Great for children to have a swim, very family orientated. Prices are reasonable. Length of pool is decent too.
Be prepared for crowds during warmer days.
C. R.
Nice pool. Bathroom/change stations were clean. More for lane swimmers. even during open hours there's only a smaller section of pool for free swim or family swim. also kids under I think 16 have to do a swim test which is to swim the length of the pool in order to be able to use the whole pool.
J. S.
Bit wet. But otherwise fine
A. C.
Lovely place to swim, clean, nice atmosphere.
K. T.
Wonderful park, large and quiet and a lot of places to explore just off Hackney road. City farm is good for children, has a number of playing fields and areas that are just nice to explore.
t. b.
Just a green space, with people enjoying the sun
C. C.
Clean lovely lido.
p. m.
The staff in lidi was helpful
F. M.
Great park. Barbecuing allowed in a specific area.
F. M.
Outdoor swimming pool. In winter make sure you bring your flip-flops.
D. E.
Great area. Can see why it is quickly becoming the most expensive place in London to live. The Saturday market is fabulous.
Y. H. K.
Novelty and nice place to swim. The water temperature is good, but your head gets cold if it's cold outside. I needed to keep swimming at a fast pace to stay warm, so not ideal for a relaxed swim in winter. I imagine it's ideal in warmer weather.
N. L. O.
Great place to swim in London. If it's warm it will be packed, and there may be a queue to get in. The pool is great with enough lanes for different swimming levels, so you should be able to swim to your hearts content. Lockers to keep your items safe for £1 (returnable). However the toilets and changing rooms were not clean in the slightest which is disappointing, although given the number of people there on a sunny day you might expect this to fall slightly below standards. Hopefully not a regular occurrence.
a. s.
Best roof less swimming pool.... To swim!
Mostly real swimmer... No Chilling!
Beautiful skylights view during the night.
Water warn enough to swim during winter.
Very clean!
Common inside (heated) changing room, there is private cabin to change but outside... Not heated.
J. N.
Hidden local gem! I wasn't aware of this until very recently and I regret not finding it sooner!
The facilities are very clean and tidy, staff are super friendly and the pool itself is pretty large. Its pretty useful having the choice of changing rooms and lockers right next to the pool, and gender separated areas indoors (note that lockers are £1, returned).
Theres also a cafe accessible from the outside and inside the pool area.
Definitely recommend!
D.
Brilliant place to bring your children to, only problem is that it is closed due to the covid. When it is open, get down here early because it gets packed really quickly.
J. G.
I live for my twice or three times weekly swims at the Lido. It is such a great facility, and I feel so lucky to have it so close by. It has huge benefits for my health and wellbeing, and is a great meeting place for swim loving friends.
R. W.
Great pool - easy access
M. L.
Great heated outdoor lido
You need to go early at the weekend sa to get in.
The sunbathing space on paving slabs is limited.
Cafe is good for coffee cake etc
Pick your times as the lanes get really busy with non swimmers .
M. R.
Great pool, clean and not too busy during the week. Very good temperature for a winter swim. On a hot summer day can get quiet busy but it's a great spot for a refreshing swim and sunbathing by the pool
A. P.
Lovely 50m pool which is divided into lanes and an informal area. The changing rooms and toilets look recently modernised including the best hair dryers I've ever used at a swimming pool!
B. R.
Great swim. Not too busy on a chilly evening. Changing areas are much cleaner than I remembered from previous visits, which came as a relief! Mens changing area is way too small. I'll be back, but I just heard from a fellow swimmer the pool will close for a few months for refurbishment?!
M. V.
Fantastic option for outdoor swimming open year round.
Indoor changing rooms are small and messy. Lockers are outdoor and require a 20p coin (not returned).
There's always a wide fast swimming - no breastroke allowed - lane which is great for lap swimming. Water is kept at constant temperature so not an issue even in cold periods. Going from the pool to the changing areas can be a daunting experience when the weather is cold.
There is a cafe that sells basic snacks and drinks.
It can be very busy in summer or days with good weather.
A.
The swimming pool is very nice but it can get super packed, especially during the week. The cafe ran out of food quite early. Some staff members are nice and some not at all. I struggled to get food on the machine and asked for help. You are not allowed to do that and one of the stuff members, Bernadette, was quite unice to me making zero effort to help and openly showing how bothered she was for my questions.
P. B.
Had the most amazing morning swim here. Surprised how quiet it is during the week. The pool was perfect with plenty of space to swim. Facilities were great and there was tea and coffee available just outside. Going to try to visit everytime I'm in London

There are very few 50m pools in London, and even less that are outdoor, heated, and open year round.
S. D.
Great open air heated pool which attracts a mix of proper swimmers and local families. Beware peak times, when it can be very busy, but it's open from 7 all year round, and is a perfect oasis in the city for relaxing. The cafe's great, too.
L. N.
This one of my childhood parks. It's a lovely open space with basketball court, tennis court, 2 playgrounds (preschool and older children) a lido and a designated BBQ area. It has become quite a trendy park now and fills up over the weekend, especially on a Saturday when people visit the popular Broadway market nearby.
S. S.
A bit too busy but great pool , chilled staff !
B. A.
Nice clean pool, toilets :) awesome place ,staff nice.Enjoyed my Sunday there, can rent a sunbed chairs for £5 which was good , gets busy in the afternoon tho! Shouldn't let in so many ppl in as was bit to many by 3 pm.
G. A.
It's a great, barbones, clean, just-what-you-need-and-nothing-more public olimpic-sized pool.
Has a cafe inside and outside, good clean changing rooms, towel rental for a quid, and a swimsuit dryer centrifuge in the toilets. Great value for money.
4 lanes of different speeds to suit all comers. Has lockers, you need a one pound coin to operate but you get it back.
Would recommend.
N. D.
Too busy. New adjustments are confusing with which way to go,feel like they let more people in than they should and could've set up a more Covid friendly system of leaving items around than just on the floor. Changing rooms are often wet. Could do with cleaning more regularly.
m. l.
Great pool in a great location. However, their business plan just didn't work out this year....I mean to renovate a pool in spring / summer only to reopen late autumn, is kinda ridic bit all forgiven by this time ( mid-winter re-opening advertised now.... really? ). Anyway, a New Year's day dip should now be on the cards. Spring '19... open as usual.
l. l.
Lovely warm pool, great experience to swim outside. Good atmosphere and facilities.
C. H.
This is a great lido but the General Manager seriously needs to look at ways to improve utilisation.
Three swimming lanes and an oversized free zone most evenings does not equate to enough space; especially as staff are unable to regulate swimmers who position themselves in the fast lane yet are barely able to stay afloat.
Suggestion: Why not reduce the ‘free zone’ to half the size and narrow the slow lane? This would increase the number of lanes to five (when the swimming club occupies another two) and would allow people to position themselves more appropriately according to their own abilities. Also, erect signage ‘reminding’ people to position themselves appropriately.
M. H.
Amazing space to swim, indoor changing rooms are clean and there are outdoor changing facilities as well. Lockers require a refunded £1 coin. Showers are lovely and warm.
A. O.
Beautiful swimming pool and changing areas, recently refurbished. The pool has usually at least 3 large lanes and there is always space to swim seriously, even in hot days (so far!). My new favourite open air swimming pool in London.
U. M.
Love this swimming pool. Set in the middle of a park so it's really nice to go in summer. Went recently in winter too and the water was surprisingly nice! Would give it a five star if they could keep the bottom of the pool a little cleaner... Good price for a swim too, by the way.
T. H.
A 50m open air pool in London Fields Park, heated all year round. Patio area for relaxing and (weather allowing) sunbathing. No sunloungers and limited chairs available though. Has cafe selling falafels, croissants and hot and cold drinks. Great amenity.
E. C.
Love it here, it's clean and the pool is heated so fine to use it even when it's freezing. Having a really good experience with the lessons and haven't found it too busy when I go around 7pm onwards.
B. U.
Really loved swimming here, especially the fact that it is a heated outdoor pool and 50mts long. Ok, 25 degrees might not feel that warm, but it’s enough when once you start swimming.
There are hot showers outside that warm you up straight away before heading to the changing room. Actually, there are changing rooms and lockers outside as well, but I went inside.
It’s clean enough and a welcome change to swimming in an indoor pool.
As I forgot my shampoo I bought some there, it’s not great though, so make sure to pack all your things! & bring 1,- £ for your locker (you’ll get it back afterwards).
C. C.
The London Fields Lido is a great place to swim. Its outdoor, but still clean - everywhere. The staff are friendly and helpful. The pool is long - 50m?, The water is warm. The lanes are double width, which means that your mind isn't crowded with swimmers on their way back down or being too slow, You don't have to worry about fitting past other swimmers or catching yourself on the lane-dividers. It is the only London pool that makes swimming a pleasure all year round (though, admittedly, it does have some natural advantages). Its open early (and late I gather) all week and all year, and casual end-to-end lane swimming isn't disrupted by closures for lessons
W. S.
Recently renovated, heated outdoor pool is still warm in winter. Sadly the staff haven't quite worked out how to mop a floor or ask people take their muddy shoes off so changing rooms are still gross but pool is really nice
F. M.
Outdoor swimming pool. In winter make sure you bring your flip-flops.
S. N.
I love this place BUT the council did a shoddy job of the refurbishment.. installing cheap low-grade quality toilets that do not flush properly and cause delightful blockages only 6 months into re-opening !!... Then there are the light coloured 'cream' floor tiles that get dirty constantly which is why you have to take your shoes off before entering! Surely a darker shade tile would have been better?!... Thoughtful design and attention to detail lacking.
B. G.
Really enjoy going here every day. Staff are friendly, the pool is huge and well heated. A great place to unwind.
It gets insanely busy on hot days, but that's not a criticism. If I had to complain I'd say the changing rooms aren't exactly massive, but they're adequate.
S. S.
Overall nicer after the refurb. The floor and benches in the changing room are constantly muddy as if mud wrestling took place which is rather gross. Going there 4x a week and it always looks like that. Wish they would keep the place clean and not let it wither away like other Better facilities. They trying to get people take off their shoes before entering but it's not really enforced and most people don't bother/care sadly. Too busy and crowded in the early mornings and evenings to do a proper swim.
M. C.
What can be better than a refreshing swim on a cold winter day. The Lido has recently been refurbished and is great especially during the day when it's not so busy. Very popular for Lane swimmers, and people serious about exercise, less so for families with children who should go elsewhere.
A. P.
Nice lido, it has warm water which is heated all the year long. There are two café which serve hot/cold beverages and food. There are alnes for free swimming, an area dedicated to children an one for sunbathing. Men/women toilets and showers are provided. It can be busy on sunny days. Price (on Jul 2018) is super reasonable, 5 pounds for adult entry.
B.
Excellent little gym in the park. i use it at least three times a week.
perfect for all levels of calisthenics/body weight training. Has several heights of pull up bars and a solid dip bar, along with rubbered flooring.
quality stuff in a central location.
I often go in early morning when it's quiet, can get very busy during the day for which reason a few more bars would be nice . otherwise no complaints and I often recommend.
btw, rest of the park is also cool. ☺
M. A. L.
Nice little park to enjoy a sunny day. Really nice for Saturdays with a food market nearby to enjoy. It's also nice that it has toilets, because it isn't something so common on British pasks.
Don't expect many animals or trees, it's just a city garden.
N. B.
Great sized outdoor pool in east London.
Relatively warm to swim in, not too deep if you're a beginner.
Best to go during the week if you can, it gets so busy at the weekends and in the summer.
R. C.
50m outdoor, heated swimming pool in the middle of Hackney!👍
M. B.
Place was really amazing but a bit of a hipster overload if I’m being honest.
Nice clean indoor changing rooms, nice temp of water but won’t be going again due to the amount of hipsters clogging up the pool.
T.
Nice big pool but still it always gets too busy and is too shallow at the shallow end. Also the water tastes very weird and notably less clean than other lidos.
M.
Heated pool. Unfortunately very busy.
T. B.
As a 35 year resident of the local area it has been lovely to see the lido restored so well, and for it to be so well used by the community. It was open when I was a kid, but wasn't much to write home about, now it is easily one of the best lido's in London.
It gets very busy in the aummer, but it well used all year round as it is heated.
P. L.
I prefer this pool in the winter as the summer is just way too busy for me personally to enjoy. The little cafe has some great homemade wraps and the cakes are great for an after session pick me up.
N. K.
Great place for having BBQ during the nice and sunny days
J. B.
The park can get over crowded in the summer with BBQ smoke everywhere the and people disregarding common etiquette once they setup there patch (rubbish everywhere). It's good place to chill when it's less busy.
L. S. (.
Loved it.
I had a day off work that turned out to be incredibly sunny.
I paid £5, laid out my towel and just enjoyed being at an outdoor pool in London.
Although it "heated" the water isn't particularly hot, it was more mild. I want to experience it in winter.
The centre itself is run well, plenty of lockers, it's clean and they have a little cafe.
A. G.
Beautiful open air heated swimming pool. Open all year round with hot showers and changing rooms available inside and outside. Friendly staff and part of the London swimming pool membership network.
Gets very busy in summertime but still has lanes to suit your level of swimming.
Lockers take £1 which you get back. There is also a small cafe for tea and sandwiches.
This is my favourite place in London, nothing removes stress like floating along on your back looking at the clouds drifting across the sky.
B. B. W.
Really fun place. Only complaint is for the power-hungry security guy out front— we asked what the price whilst in queue and he said “I don’t pay to swim so I don’t know.”
Later he scolded entrants with “I said middle aisle! Do you not know what MIDDLE means?!” #calm
S. E.
Nice and spacious, with a park right beside a playground, cricket pitch, tennis court and plenty of grass space. Spent the afternoon relaxing and having a picnic very easy to get to via transport.
M. O.
Lovely and quiet place for the kids.
J. L.
My favourite east end park - just the right size, allows BBQs, has a wildflower garden and flanked by a couple of great pubs and corner stores to grab cold beverages. Absolutely bursting with people and dogs on good weather days. Grade A people watching.
A. P.
Love this place, best pool in East London! ❤ Heated in winter, summer get there very early if you want a proper swim before the sun seekers turn up.
R. B.
A good sized park full of trendy hipster types. Great in the summer. BBQs are allowed in a specific area. Broadway market is next door for street food. The lido is nice, but very busy in the summer
v. l.
Very good place for adult, kids and senior. Picnic, barbecue, playground, pubs.
D. M. D.
There is a really good vibe in this park and a lot of markets, bars, rooftops and restaurants nearby. There is also a small fenced basketball court in the park and an outdoor swimming pool (never been in it but I'm sure it's not free for the public). There is also a section of the field where you are allowed to barbeque
D. H.
I'm a member at the Olympic Aquatic Centre and usually goes there 3 times a week to swim. The Aquatic Centre is closed throughout May for the European Aquatic Championship, so I decided to try out other pools in east London. Having read lots of great reviews of this place, I decided to check it out today (May bank holiday Sunday).
As I'm used to using £1 as deposit to use the locker at the aquatic centre, I didn't have any 20p coin on me, went and change some at the reception. The lockers are all very narrow, so I had to take things out of my backpack and stack them up to fit everything in the locker. The lock was a bit stiff, and before I knew it the key recoiled and took/charged me 20p, and I didn't even get to use the bloody thing! After a quick word with the pool guard, he called someone from the reception to come and help me. And that was resolved promptly. She(the help from reception) also reminded me to take all the essentials out or I'll have to pay 20p each time I open/close the locker.
Upon putting my head into the water, I was shocked by the amount of debris floating in the water. I thought this was just the shallow end, it'll be fine once I swim pass this part. I was wrong, there were black and brown algae-like debris floating across the entire pool, let alone the small leaves and dirt collected at the bottom of the pool. I felt as if I was swimming in some pond!
One positive point is that the pool are divided into four lanes(practice, slow, medium and fast), each of them are very wide so it's easy to overtake a fellow swimmer if he/she decides to slow down all of a sudden.(No such issue once I moved to the fast lane after warming myself up in the medium lane).
20 laps later, I decided to call it a day and went to the outdoor showering cubicle to rinse off. It is a unisex shower cubicle and the shower heads are very close to each other, I felt a bit too intimate with the fellow swimmers showering next to me (we would've been constantly elbowing each other had we decided to soap ourselves up at the same time) so I decided to shower in the male changing room. BIG MISTAKE!!! Water was cooler(not cold) than the outside and literally dribbled out of the shower head. Yes, I checked both shower cubicles that were available, same temperature and poor water volume.
If you have long hair and enjoy a proper blow-dry after shampooing your hair, you're not going to like the next bit. It costs 20p to get it working and I suspect that it has a timer on it as well.
I must say the staff I met today were all very friendly and helpful. Not too impressed with the facilities unfortunately. If this is a pool with an average 4.5 star rating, I dread to think what the other ones(under the Better company) would be like.
R. H.
Great location and brilliant pool. The opening hours are very generous with clearly marked pool lanes for speed and direction. Would highly recommend the Lido for serious and none serious swimmers
W. V.
Good amenities, big pool and plenty activities.
I used to visit this complex when I lived in Brixton. Receptionist were friendly in the other hand some instructor paid more attention in to talk to girls rather than make his job.
It was funny afterwards.
I recommend it, if you are student ask for the discount and enjoy.
S.
Enjoyable place. Finally something open until late and under the open sky. The water is the right temperature to keep you warm and not disturb a swimmer. Bring your slipper to avoid to use overshoes or walk barefoot
D. D.
Hardcore swimming. Joyous on a summer day. And you can have a picnic on the side. Lifeguards are easy going and seem to care about what they do and pool users, making this the best Better run swimming pool by many miles.
S. P.
Among the best pools to swim in London. Skip the hottest days as you’ll swim at your slowest pace ever with the crowds there. The overcast days are the best, truly!
D. A.
Perfect outdoor swimming experience
P. J.
Really great space in London close to London Fields overground train station. It is particularly great coming here on Saturday as there is a great market held every Saturday called Broadway market. At Broadway market there is a great collection of food and craft stalls to explore and enjoy. The park is great for everyone as it is large with a children's play area also.
V. P.
I've loved this park since I visited the first time. The park is really big, you can do many sports, there is a pitch for basketball. Many off-licences are close by. You can bring a grill and do barbeque inside the park and it's allowed.
N. W.
Great to swim outside than stuffy indoors. Very clean...... ,
Except the deep end of the pool but I guess its just dirt blown around. Good to swim a 50m pool too 😊
R. C.
What an excellent way to spend the day! The park is a relaxing greenspace where you can enjoy sun or shade, just meditate, barbeque, or do whatever makes you relaxed. Tennis, swimming, jogging or kicking the football with some friends. There are pubs and restaurants within walking distance.
J. H.
What a gem of a pool. Great facilities here; clean and spacious with a cafe and friendly staff. Highly recommend for anyone looking to do lap training in a 50m pool.
B. S.
As a regular swimmer, I have a Love-Hate Relationship with this place. If you want to come and just peaceably do some lengths in the open air, it can be wonderful or absolutely miserable depending on luck, timing and weather.
On warm days it's pretty horrendous - with adults and children behaving as badly as each other - grown men repeatedly doing 'cannon balls' only inches from where people were trying to swim, children crossing your path constantly as if you were invisible, etc.
The lifeguards do absolutely nothing to regulate things - so if a few women decide to clog up the fast lane to float on their backs and talk, the frustration continues.
Hygiene is also a big issue on busy days. Hardly anyone showers before getting in or ties their hair up. Expect lots of long hair tangling around your fingers while you are trying to swim.
I love this place in Feb-March when it's cold outside - but on warm days, aim for one of the ponds if you want the space-exercise-outdoor high that so many of us crave when swimming.
P. W.
I have enjoyed many swims here since the refurb took place. If you want a peaceful morning swim in the summer, get there early. Otherwise it turns into a beach. I don't get any people would PAY to go and sit on concrete (and never use the pool) when London Fields is there, green and free outside.
The inside changing room floors need to be kept clean and more dry. I'm not keen on being told to remove my socks and shoes befoer going in when the floors are like that. Yes, one could take flip flops, but swimming is the 'lightest' of equipment needed - I take my speedos, googles and hire a towel. So don't need to carry a big bag at all.
In addition, what idiot decided to put the swimming costume spin driers in the toilets down the hall from the locker room/showers? Now you get people wringing out their costumes on the floor making it even more wet.
Overall, it's a good place to swim, but just a few odd things that stop it from getting full marks.
T. W.
Awesome amenity. Can get VERY busy and unusable for proper swimming but that's because there's nothing like it nearby. Not the fault of this facility, which is excellent, we just need more of them - Come on Hackney Council, sort it out.
M. B.
Just started swimming regularly here and loving it. Clean, modern changing rooms inside and a great 50m pool. Really lovely swimming in the open air :)
A. E.
Excellent, heated 50m swimming pool in the heart of Hackney. Renovated a few years ago. Get's very busy in summer and on weekends. Best time would be mid week on a very sunny day!
C. C.
Really like this park. Lots of places to stop and have a picnic and plenty for people watchers. The wild meadow is a great idea, lots of nice trees and the is no traffic nearby. Facilities include tennis courts, a lido (currently being refurbished, but always was a pleasant place to swim), play area, public loos (often with a queue weekends in summer).
On some days there's cricket which I've enjoyed watching... Theres a barbecue area - which can get noisy and smoky on a summer weekend there's often people playing guitar. Watch out for the cycle-paths that cross the area. Lots of dog-walkers too.
Close by is Broadway with lots of independant shops and an interesting market (lots of food but tends to be expensive). There are several good pubs nearby too.
D. C.
The pool itself, is very nice.Sadly the facility is not opened at the moment. The changing facility could more functional, in a practical sense, etc !
o. I. y. l. m.
Great, clean organised. Pool could have been slightly warmer
M. S.
The park is amazing, with a BBQ Area. Is good for party, meeting, football matches, romantic tour for a couple, to have some quite chat with friends. Is always clean and tidy.
E. s.
Great pool with nice wide lanes, the only downside is that the female changing area is very small and ill thought out with no hanging space and all the lockers against one wall and only a handful of showers
j. b.
Although lacking in plants, flowerbeds and colour, attractive tree lined walkways divide the grass expanses to advantage. Good facilities for locals including Lido and a 'hang-out' for the overspill from the adjacent Broadway Market. A vibrant and animated summer destination.
S. D.
The lido is 50 meters long which alone makes it very unique, it's extra tiring to swim that distance. It has a little onsite cafe as well as other facilities. The best thing is just swimming outside with leaves falling in the water. Only be warned that during busy times there will be a lot of children there but they always have dedicated swimming lanes
B. C.
Lovely outdoor swimming pool. I go there all year round. It can get busy in the summer but is magical in the winter when the steam rises off the water like mist.
D. M.
People seem to be submitting mainly reviews for the park in general but this is the Lido - having lived here for longer than I care to mention the distinction between the Lido and the park itself needs to be kept. The Lido is a hard fought for resource by a committed group of local residents. The Lido has offered wonderful facilities for swimming, relaxing and catching up with people over coffee. Having an Olympic sized pool is a great addition to the area and really helps with keeping fit. My kids learnt to swim here, and this was the only place I could get my autistic child to come and swim at due to the open air. One gripe it really does get crowded with sun worshippers in the summer whom then polite the water with suntan lotion - however it’s a few short months and the rest of the time you can avoid the crowds. Winter time is one of the best. Nothing like swimming in bath temp water with steam rising whilst cold rain falls on your head - getting in and out might be a coldness challenge but it’s worth it.
F. R.
Probably my favourite place in London. On a sunny day it's like a different world. can be pretty busy. However as most people are just sunbathing/posing pool is always pretty free
H. S.
Nice pool, wide lanes are good for overtaking even when it's busy.
A. K.
Fantastic place outside pool heated great place. Trouble is everybody loves it in the summer. Reasonably priced great setting. Well refurbished fairly recently.
P. D.
Although not a aesthetically pretty park, it's one of the few parks which allows BBQs - and in summer it's a party! Seriously one of the most fun places to be in summer with friends, getting boozy during the day.
J. G. (. L.
A great outdoor pool, which is heated too. It's quite a fun experience swimming under the stars. The cafe offers a good selection of food and drinks.
M. R.
Really lovely Park, very lively at the wwekends as there is Broadway market right next to it. Nice but small play area for children, an outdoor swimming a few pubs adjacent to the park, lots of places to eat next to the park and you can have bbqs in the designated area
S. C.
I love that you can do whatever you want here. Barbecue on the lawn, swim in the lido. I saw people dressed as fairies and trolls here once, I think they were having some sort of forest-themed wedding. Excellent people watching.
K. P.
Lovely park with open spaces, 2 kids playgrounds, basketball court, exercise area, outdoor pool, decent public toilets n is cycle friendly. Also has a bbq area which most parks in London don't allow. There is a children's centre too n across the road is London Fields primary school. On Saturdays is pricey Broadway market nearby which is usually very busy n Sunday a small organic food market in the school playground.
C. P.
A clean, heated, outdoor Olympic sized swimming pool in East London? What else is there to say. This place is fantastic, morning swimming with a chill in the air and steam rising off the water just cannot be beaten.
D. W.
The actual lido is great fun but the staff are not helpful at all. They let too many people in and booking online doesn't gaurantee you a place in your time slot, you still have to wait on a busy day. We booked n still waited an hour to get in.
J. A. D.
The London Fields Lido is an oasis not necessarily of calm especially when it is hot, but of a little relaxation and fun. If you come in the morning on a school day there can be few people, so you can get your lengths swum. It's an Olympic size pool so lots of room fit everyone
M. S.
Plenty of space for cricket or football
M. S.
Best park to people watch & barbecue! Big enough to find a secluded spot, go for a walk, drink at a pub on site, or even take photos in a nice wildflower field
Highly recommend on a sunny day! Go to broadway market first and eat the food you buy (cheese & fruits & wine if you wish!) on a picnic blanket in London fields
M. B.
Amazing pool. Especially in the summer sunshine... I recommend to all. Come have a swim in the Lido! Great to hang out when it's really hot as well, just sitting poolside. Plenty of room
A. O.
Very good swimming oportunity in Hackney, everything works fine- maybe missing an indoor caffee, as after swimming outside it would be nice to sit and have a coffee in some warmer place. But apart from that- I recomend this pool.
R. L.
Great park to have a beer and sit around. It could be a bit more looked after but it's nice and I believe it has a public swimming pool as well.
A. H.
Excellent park for barbecues. If you don't wish to barbeque, it is highly recommended to go to the market just nearby to grab some food and picnic. (Only on Saturday's and when the weather is good!)
T. D.
One of London's great parks! Get something to eat at Broadway Market, drinks and enjoy yourself. Oh, you can BBQ there! Pub on the park is a good place to chill too.
T. C.
A busy 50m Lido on London Fields with good showering and changing facilities. Classes are run here during the week in the 'heated' pool but personally I still found it a bit chilly. Top pool.
M. G.
Very crowded but boght the tickets online and got in quite quickly. Not a good range of food and took some time to find a place to lay the towel - it is a wonderful weather outside!
n.
New, larger indoor changing rooms. Additional outdoor showers would be nice but alas! Pool clean and good temperature.
E. s. Y.
I love it
Go in the back door and you don't have to pay

London Fields is a lovely open area to relax and have some downtime, it is particularly pleasant on lovely hot days! You can enjoy your time here with all types of people, or even work colleagues. Highly recommended place to visit!
L. J.
The best lido out there, apart from some rude swimmers from a swimming class!
So refreshing to attend. Also a great free Ti Chi class out on the grass on Saturdays from 14:00
D. W.
The actual lido is great fun but the staff are not helpful at all. They let too many people in and booking online doesn't gaurantee you a place in your time slot, you still have to wait on a busy day. We booked n still waited an hour to get in.

Excellent clean outdoor pool which has free swim lessons with Naomi the Swim Doctor - my technique has improved massively and I'm fitter :)
a. s.
Best roof less swimming pool.... To swim!
Mostly real swimmer... No Chilling!
Beautiful skylights view during the night. …

Nice
J. N.
Hidden local gem! I wasn't aware of this until very recently and I regret not finding it sooner!
The facilities are very clean and tidy, staff are super friendly and the pool …
S. L.
The Lido itself is nice with good facilities. I did not find some staff very friendly though. The guy in the cafe was downright rude. Its sad how 1 or 2 such people can at times spoil the whole experience.
S. C.
It's a shame this place is only useful in the summer of which we don't have a long one. It could do with a little bit of greenery even if artificial.
J. H.
What a gem of a pool. Great facilities here; clean and spacious with a cafe and friendly staff. Highly recommend for anyone looking to do lap training in a 50m pool.
S. L.
The Lido itself is nice with good facilities. I did not find some staff very friendly though. The guy in the cafe was downright rude. Its sad how 1 or 2 such people can at times spoil the whole experience.

Too busy on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Packed with children splashing and water gun fighting. Great if you are a family. not so great if you want to swim.
C. Y. L.
Not the best swimming pool ever, not too big and as it's one of the hottest day it's packed with people and not very clean. Staff members are generally helpful. Okay. A normal pool.
G. G.
Great lido, immaculately kept. It's is more of a place for a swim rather than a pool to just float around in. There is a good sized area for sunbathing.
C. G.
Not too busy even on a Saturday. Lots of slow people doing lan swims in medium and fast lanes but that isn't the pools fault:)
Y. W. C.
One of the very few outdoor heated lido. Great way to get some sun when it is too cold to sunbathe in the park.
L. G.
Has-it-all London green space.
During the summer months this place is buzzing, as the hipsters from adjacent Broadway Market pour out of their tapas bars and onto the green.
There is a lot to do here, with equipment including but not limited to: BBQ area, ping pong table, basketball court, playground, exercise racks, and open for late night running.
R. M.
My favourite Lido in London. And my nearest. Just a lovely place, lovely staff, nice little cafe. Great at any time of year, but I particularly like it in winter when it's quieter.
G. B.
Great tonic for mind and body.
M. T.
BBQ allowed. Wild flowers. Lovely to get a take away meal from Broadway Market on Saturday (food market) and sit in the park. Or have a beer outside Pub on The Park.
S. E.
Perfect mix of meadow and trimmed grass. A step away from Broadway market and Netil market, and has its own lido. Bring a bbq if you fancy, but be ready to be confined to the bbq corner (which means you won't be bothered by the smoke if you're anywhere else in the park trying not to smell like you went camping).
M. H.
I've been swimming at the lido ever since it opened, in rain, shine and even snow. It's always a great experience except for hot days when too many people come! A wonderful place.
R. G.
Lovely park with 2 kids playgrounds, a pub, a brewery, a beautifully restored open air lido and lots of dogs, hippies, punks, anarchists and hipsters. In summer they allow BBQs. The hippies, punks and anarchists have now moved to Hastings
F. v. A.
Great open heated 50 meter swimmingpool - lanes wide enough, rules unclear clock and counterclock. Pool not very clean, but good enough. On one side not deep, I touch the ground with my hands during swimming. Fine lockers one pound (returned) - bit shabby though. Entry 5 pound. At 7 AM Tuesday pretty busy. But it’s great to swim in the open!! Recommended!
A. C.
Lovely place to swim, clean, nice atmosphere.
C. D. G.
I like London fields as it had a swimming pool that can also be used in the inter as it's heated. You also have tennis courts and it's one of the few parks where you are allowed to BBQ.
A. S.
Heated outdoor swimming pool. It's exactly as described. The lady running the small cafe by the entrance makes absolutely delicious porridge, great to have after a swim!
R. H.
My favourite pool in London. It is outside but warm. I love swimming there on a cold winters Saturday night. It's 50m long also.
G. T.
Cold 🥶, full of gunge but surprisingly good for a wee if you need one.
J. C.
One of the best Swimming Pool of London. Olympic size and outdoor (even open in the winter). A swimmers' paradise.
R. N.
Love the lido! Friendly staff, clean, hot showers, heated. Nothing beats being here on a clear morning with the sun coming up. It's one of my favourite things about living in east London.
M. S.
So crowded during sunny Sundays. Too full of interesting people, too nice to be missed also when you're just on your own and want peace. Choose the right time to be there.
S. A.
Excellent clean outdoor pool which has free swim lessons with Naomi the Swim Doctor - my technique has improved massively and I'm fitter :)
J. H.
Classic hipster spot. But still lovely. There is a lido and a cricket pitch. You can BBQ and also play basketball. Nextdoor to Broadway Market for more hipster fun.
J. C.
Quite busy at times (pre & post work) but staff seem friendly, service and facilities are banging and not too many egos in the water! Been a few times and definitely going again.
P.
Love it but so does everyone else sunny weekends and holidays. Try it on a Winter's weekday when the water feels warm and steam rises mysteriously - sublime.
P. H.
Lovely park, Didn't go to the lido.
G. P.
Amazing 50m length outdoor pool. Outdoor is support nice but hard to maintain without enough chlorine.
K. E.
Great place for a swim. It's an outdoor pool which is amazing. Great views. Try and go on off peaks times, it's a popular pool.
a. l.

I travel to this pool 3 -4 times a week. The staff are always smiling friendly and helpful and the 50 meter pool always well organised and clean.
F. M.
Great park. Barbecuing allowed in a specific area.
S. B.
Amazing place for a swim all year round! being outside and connecting with nature, swimming in a warm 50m pool with a nice hot shower afterwards-you can't beat it.

Party atmosphere on a hot Summer's day/evening as one of the few parks where BBQs are allowed. Close to Browadway Market, so plenty of food/beverage options for chilling in the park.
a. d.
I Love Ambala their Methai is Heavenly Delicious
J. B.
Great place to go for a swim, doesn't matter if you're training for a triathlon or catching some sun. Facilities are great, but can get quite busy
G. F.
It's usually very crowded, but the location is great for have a swim and go back to London Fields. Anyway the swimming pool and the rest of installations are great and new.
M. C.
Busy park but with a barbecue space, who can argue? Also close to some great places to pick up drinks for the park, or pubs to visit once the sun goes down.
J. L.
Nice outdoor swimming pool rather central in London. I went on a not too warm and sunny day so the amount of people was ok but it likely gets quite crowded on hot days.
T. W.
Very nice park.
I take my 2 dogs. Their love running playing with other's dogs.
While I have a coffee talk to other dogs owners.
C. N.
Great outdoor pool to use in summer on the corner of London Fields Park. It isn't a very big centre though so it can sometimes get crowded on busy days, but definitely one of my favourite outdoor pools in London.
J. P.
Heated outdoor 50m pool in London... need I say more?
B. W.
So pleased you get a slot! Covid safe and friendly service. Swimming, just swimming in the rain 🏊🌧️
M. H.
One of the best urban parks in the world. Sports and barbecues and community in the summer. Cricket matches and playgrounds. With Broadway Market below and Wilton Way above.
C. T.
nice outside pool for whom loves swimming under the sky. good price and nice venue. I'll surely coming back. and polite and available crew too.
J. G.
The Lido has re-opened today, 4 Jan 2018, after a lengthy refurbishment. It's looking stunning. The café is also open, we've just had fantastic coffees, a toastie and a falafel wrap.
N. A.
Awesome loved it. Staff are soooooo friendly....my baby loved it
g. c.
Although it gets very crowded during summer weekends, still so far the best option in north London. Good, clean facilities, cheap bar and proper lane management.
C. B.
Great time with the family. Was rather busy but once you're in, you don't want to come out! The kids loved it.
S. A. t. M.
Great fifty metre pool, lifeguards that manage to stay awake the whole time and a good open air precursor to open water swimming.
H. M.
The best place to have your own BBQ
R. B.
This place has it all - a Lido, a great pub, BBQ area, Wildflower Meadow, a cricket pitch, tennis courts, kids playground, french bowls. When people say London comes alive in the summer, this is the place to be FACT.
S. M.
One of the nicest London lidos. I love that it's open air and heated, so you can enjoy it even on a colder day. Perfect for a morning swim before brunch.
P. A.
Started going on Sunday mornings - not too busy, Proper big pool, decent facilities (although some sort of refurbishment is in the cards for 2017).
A. N.
London Fields Fields Still my favorite park in London for a lazy afternoon reading magazine, playing in my iPod and listening music while meditation. This park has wide open spaces, leafy shaded areas and a generally peaceful atmosphere. It's also just plain gosh-durned pretty.
Sure it's more fun if you have accompanied with your love ones. And sometimes the park shouldn't feel like a scene. Also, there is plenty of space, so you can always find a good spot.
Truly one of the nicest spot in all of London!
G. T.
Really nice East London park with a great bbq area for the sunny days...Broadway market is at the entrance for Saturdays, breweries and local pubs like Pub on the Park too make for terrific set of ancillary choices 😉
R. I.
A great place to swim all year round. Quite busy all of the time but still a nice community feel.
C. G.
Shards of light cut through the water on a sunny day as you swim in the not so fast lane. Bliss.
P. B.
Great pool but some of the users could do with some lessons in pool etiquette! Can't beat it on a sunny day though.
A. M.
Great place when it's sunny. Clean and a great crowd. There's 2 little cafes at each end if you get peckish. Pricey but it's East London central
E. E.
Lovely little garden, but not exactly what i hoped for when i wantes to visit a park qhile in Manchester for the day. Still a nice little place to sit and just around the corner from the science museum 😁
T. S.
Always a lovely swim - massive respect for everyone working there for opening up during these Covid times
P. D.
Staff polite and helpful but didn't bother to swim because I found the water to be quite cold.
S. C. v. G. (. S. v. G.
After the community lost the Haggerston Pool the Lido became the new place for swimming and meeting up. Barbecues are no longer allowed but it is still a great place for a picnic.
D. N.
Heated pool 26 degrees open all year. And it's one of the few 50 meter pools in London. 4.80£ / visit
A. R.
Pool was a good size and well kept. Nice area of lawn to relax on after a swim
M. N.
The park is just a lovely place, and if you want to have a bbq there's a place for bbq cookers lol, plus lovely play area for kids and a pub on the corner if you need a drink.
G. T.
Excellent venue very clean, water bit cold until I acclimatise. It looked well supported and I will visit again.
M. K.
Brilliant , only this word pop up in my mind .Staff very friendly and helpful .Thank you 🏊
l. r.
Beautiful outdoor pool though can get very crowded on warm days, get there early to avoid a large entry queue !
H. P.
Good standard swimming pool, but lack of caffee/waiting area is a big minus. Please do sth about it - its not that difficult these days.
J. P. T.
Affordable swimming and refreshing when hot. Avoid peak times when people try to out swim you when really you’d rather not be reminded that you’re not an Olympic swimming champion.
J. L.
Great place. Love the open water but pick your timing carefully as it gets busy.
P. S.
Just brilliant. Outdoor. Heated. 50m pool. Gets busy at weekends when the weather is nice, but that's because it's so good.
d.
Lovely park,. Spacious, has a cycle path, a public toilet! a pub, lido and a newly garden area with wild flowers and meadows.
M. R.
Great! Facilities are fine, but more importantly, there's a friendly and bubbly atmosphere that's hard to find in London. Family-friendly, too.
D. C.
Great pool, great facilities. A little expensive but it is in London so it's understandable
C. B.
Lovely lido. Cold at first but once you get doing it was fine. You wouldn’t know you were in the heart of London!
W. W. K.
Full length 50m pool and an area to rest and sunbathe. There aren't many shower cubicles so when it is busy you have to queue.
R. P.
Great pool with nice facilities. Gets very busy after 6pm. Try go later.
H. E. J. R.
Great for swimming in the summer.
J. B.
If it's warm outside then London Fields is the best place to be. Bring your dog, your friend, your lover or your flatmate, grab a bottle of Muscadet from Noble Wines & Spirits (down the road) and come bask in the sun.
I.
Once you are in it's great. The recent revamp is good and just now it is lovely at night with your breath steaming above the water.
J. O.
Wonderful facility to have in your neighbourhood. Gets seriously busy. A sign of success. We need more places like this.
D. L.
Iconic East London open space adjacent to the equally hip Broadway Market. Notable for its Lido. Cricket games and a preponderance of barbecues occur in the summer.
B. M.
Lovely outdoor pool
S. M.
Good pool, decent length and lanes wide but pretty shallow, half of it one metre deep
B. R. W.
Even on a chilly autumn evening swimming here is s joy. Also deserving of mention are the ever helpful staff.
A. M.
Very friendly staff always happy to help. The pool has clearly marked lanes and everyone respects that.
J.
Pleasant east London green space. Can get a bit rammed in the summer. Well appointed with bars and pubs at top, middle and bottom. Please take yr rubbish home!
M. C.
Missed swimming in lido. Open air living. Clean, warm and cold showers. Can get crazy packed in summer. Go early!
D. M. G.
Great pool to come for a swim in summer. Not tried in winter yet, but the pool is heated so could be good.
C. B.
I found it super clean, I liked it very much and my kids had a lot of fun, I recommend to all my friends to come to the London Fields Lido
D. F.
A somewhat hipster park in a hipster part of London. Based right by the cool market of Broadway and near some fab pubs this is nicely located park for all the reasons above. Even has a designated BBQ area to hold gatherings for friends.
g. c.
Although it gets very crowded during summer weekends, still so far the best option in north London. Good, clean facilities, cheap bar and proper lane management.
M. R.
Great! Facilities are fine, but more importantly, there's a friendly and bubbly atmosphere that's hard to find in London. Family-friendly, too.
L. L.
Great fun for all the family sunny or wet 🤷🏼♂️😉
G.
Newly refurbished, very popular 50m pool and for a good reason.
J. B.
The park can get over crowded in the summer with BBQ smoke everywhere the and people disregarding common etiquette once they setup there patch (rubbish everywhere). It's good place to chill when it's less busy.
R. I.
A great place to swim all year round. Quite busy all of the time but still a nice community feel.
M. F.
Spectacular. Is this the best Lido in the country? Beautiful 50 metre outdoor heated pool for £5
S. B.
Amazing place for a swim all year round! being outside and connecting with nature, swimming in a warm 50m pool with a nice hot shower afterwards-you can't beat it.
M. H.
One of the best urban parks in the world. Sports and barbecues and community in the summer. Cricket matches and playgrounds. With Broadway Market below and Wilton Way above.
C. S.
Does what it says on the tin. Lovely outdoor heated pool. Good changing facilities and friendly staff. Nice big pool too
C. Z.
Love this pool. The Olympic sized pool is fantastic. The cafe next door does yummy food.
G. W.
Great for a swim, heated, clean, 50m, can't complain. Swim here at 0630 and watch the sun rise 😍
M. M.
Great public pool .... 50 meters and heated ... For a swim in London. It is my best move when I am jetlagged in the winter.
S. m.
I come here all year round. This is my fav pool in London. Since the refurb it’s even better!
R.
Lovely park. Busy in summer!
J. S.
Great park. I just wish the hipsters would clear up after themselves after an afternoon of eating and drinking. Tossers, keep the place clean please.
M. N.
Great spot, went swimming after a BBQ, the lanes are wide and it's super chilled, works till late and it's only £5!!
C.
Brilliant day out at the Lido, brilliant facilities xx
A. W.
Wonderful lido. Always very clean and staff are friendly
G. C.
I love this lido. Sometimes it can get very crowded and people get a bit aggressive in the water. Other than that it’s a great place.
E. F.
It is an affordable luxury for me to be able to swim out in the fresh air every day before work. Perfect start to the day :)
R. R.
I was told it is very nice for a early morning swim it is closed right now
B. C.
Nice park in the centre of Hackney. Good for dog walking, jogging, cycling, football, cricket and lounging about on a sunny afternoon
J. N.
Always busy, but a nice little pool, next to Broadway Market for food and chilling, or a few minutes walk to Hackney Central
J. B.
Didn't swim but got an Ice cream from the cafe.
A. A.
Excellent outdoor swimming, although best to go when kids are at school or on a cloudy day as less crowded.
A. V.
Convenient park to enjoy sunny days. There is a section where it's possible to have barbecues.
B. S.
Great for barbecues! Not neatly gardened like other London parks but certainly a very cool one.
S. C.
It's a shame this place is only useful in the summer of which we don't have a long one. It could do with a little bit of greenery even if artificial.
A. S.
Great place very busy in the summer
M. A.
Hackney council staff keep this place clean. Its nice for bbq but you do get riff raff and a pungent smell of cannabis
T. G. (.
Beautiful, 50mts swimming pool!
g. P.
What's not to love? Perfect park crossing hackney, 2 playgrounds, the lido, the paddling pool, the pub on the park and Broadway market. What else?
A. C.
Great pool for laps, can be busy at times. Could do with a clean more often
G. P.
An absolute gem, outdoor Olympic sized heated and recently refurbished also good value.
s. G.
Nice space and able to BBQ. Not the prettiest or tidyest of parks but perfect for an afternoon with friends
M. H.
Great pool, friendly enough staff and reasonably priced food (£3.50 for a cheese and ham toastie)
R. B.
If you wanna sit in dog mess, have over privileged children scream around you and get asked for change from five star beggars who reside in the local housing association I highly recommend coming here one Saturday poison yourself on a disposable bbq :)
S. H.
Fantastic open air heated 50m pool. Perfect for all year round swims.
C. A.
Loved this pool brought kids here the towel section is quite sparse though great facilities
P. K.
Very dog friendly. One of the few parks in London that permit BBQs but gets VERY busy when the sun is out.
G. R.
quite a large park with space for portable BBQ's, when the markets are on nearby it's a great place to stop and relax!
M. M.
Polaroid app on my iphone taking pictures on London Fields, up on the blog so everyone knows. Were having new age fun, with a vintage feel!
T. h. M.
Great for family leisure times..for swimming, need more space for kids
T. S.
nice park, specially that they have a bbq area!
and a police field office lets you feel quite safe.
a. L.
Epic 50m outdoor pool. Is heated so is busy all year round.
a. “. s. t. r. m.
This place was packed when I visited one Saturday, for a barbeque.
Next to Broadway market. Very popular with the hipster crowd and street rats.
M. K.
Great park to enjoy in the summertime with barbacue area. Two different playgrounds for kids, pool, cricket and tennis court.
N. I.
Very clean and modern since refurbishment. Would recommend for outdoor swimming.
