Reviews of Markfield Park
Lovely space and playground for children and adults.
Big field for exercise. There are planted roses in different colours.
A coffee shop and a skating board ground with a lot of fantastic graffiti works.
Good place if you're looking for a short walk and want to get some fresh air. It has a playground for children as well. Cafe serves decent coffee and good service. Must visit for dog parents 🙂
I love this place!! amazing people, very welcoming. big space indoor- soft play outside play area. highly recommend to visit this place.
GREEN SPACE
So much more could be done for this park. It is quite bland. Apart from the trees, there is huge scope to encourage wild flowers around the perimeter of the green, but green space management in this park resembles that of,
a sports field. It’s mowed with active sports in mind. However, there are copious other areas around the edges of the central field, (along the paths), for growing wild plants. They should be managed purely for wildlife. Additionally, diversity of flora would be more attractive for visitors to enjoy and learn from. There is very little diversity of wild flora in the park and the only colour to be seen, is in the small rose garden, (offset to one far side of the park). Why not sow a wildflower mix, with ornamental grass seed, for example, around the park verges?Mixing in Yellow Rattle, (a semi parasitic plant), would combat against the growth of Perennial Rye Grass, and ensure more flowers grow up and less ‘standard’ grass, (which smothers everything). This would ensure more light reaching flowers.
So much space in this park has been ignored for wildlife. It’s as if the importance of wildlife here is very low. There is huge room for improvement. After all, wildlife are the residents of this park. Making this one small change to the perimeter verges of the park, would encourage more diversity of species. I would be interested to know Markfield Park’s program for managing the park for wildlife!! Judging by sight, VERY LITTLE has been done.
THE CAFE
It’s quite expensive for the area and customer service could be more inviting.
THE BEAM ENGINE
This is absolutely excellent. Well done to everyone concerned. Fabulously well done!!
Beautiful path ways with tall trees.
A Canal side ,where you can view a few boats stationed and can also get a glimpse of ducks.
Also has play areas separate for toddlers and big kids.
Next to it lies a space for gyming enthusiats that leads to an area where picnic tables are placed and you can enjoy barbeque on a bright sunny day.
There is also a cafe are the far end of the park.
A good play area for children and an outdoor gym. There is also a cafe and museum which was currently closed when I visited. A lovely place regardless of weather
Great skatepark. Good bands on, performances on bikes and skateboards. What's not to like.
It's a very nice park, absolutely fantastic! It's pleasurable for kids and adults.Parking , café,and toilet facilities, and a museum as well. What a wonderful to go to!
I love to go there again!
I grew up going to this park. Still a lovely place to visit. Lovely walks along the river lea and a lovely little cafe for drinks and snacks. The children love playing on the equipment or kicking a ball about the park.
nice park, its a nice open space which gets a lot of sunshine. has plenty of grassy areas and a track for running/cycling. the man at the cafe was pretty rude after i asked a simple question, which put me off buying anything from there at all though
Pretty cool, got some good energy, plenty of space for activities, nice view, lovely walkway by the river, colorful and rebel BMX and Skate area. Sometimes is fogged by whispers of lies, mistrust and fear. At some point all the manipulation should fall anyway.
Markfield Park the best park in East London I'll be coming to this park many years and it's fantastic place to come for res play play Chillout eat out has a great cafe I recommend people to come here at Markfield Park and bring your children with you the children will love the park very much and their ice cream who can't say no to ice cream
A cozy park with Rosegarden (many different kinds of roses), the Museum of the beam engine (you need a work schedule for a visit). Lee is near. Skatepark (most for graffiti, than for a skate, almost the whole surface is broken). Cafe, football area, tennis table.
Markfield Park it's the best park in East London so tranquil and full of History got a great cafe you can swap books and it's a great place for families and children the children really makeup to place as so beautiful here them playing and with their parents the staff there are fantastic also we got a pumping house because before Markfield Park it was Tottenham Hale pumping station Sewage Works but no more now it's a best park Fantastic Park it's also we got Springfield Park that's further down but Marshall Park gets 10 out of 10 I gone through the park few years now cos I don't live far from the park can't wait to go back to Markfield Park because it's got my name Happy New Year 2019
A really nice, picturesque park.
ok spot, probably better in the summer with no lockdown, it was good to explore as I live in leyton and walked up there which was a nice walk.
Big place with MUGA, playground, football pitch and skateboard area plus cafe next close to beam engine. River Lea pathway just behind corner.
I walk through here on my way to walk.i like the way the park feels during the winter. With some of the trees bare and not much going on in the park it feels eerie and meloncholic
The park is a bit mudi but other then that its so beautiful in the morning when the sun is out
Nice enough park, with a great cafe; toilets not very nice, though!
Very peaceful during the summer. Great place to hang out with other people.
Our group of over 25 visited this amazing community cafe on Saturday 31st. August for hot beverages and a comfort break. We were greeted by the very cheerful landlord and his wonderful attentive staff. A big thank you for making our visit memorable.
Good, friendly service. Toasties and chips good. Especially welcome on a cold day like today.
Has a great cafe, play area and a walk down the river.
Conveniently situated, good service and nice atmosphere. Great Dad's spot.
To be fair I didn't stay in the actual Park much I was more in the cafe, the little that I did see of it seemed ok enough.
A lovely little park with a great cafe on site, a real pleasant location
some pictures there. it.s fun, i broke my arm in there. have the video if you.re interested lmao
Very nice have a day beautiful relaxing weekend in park
Great environment even a kids playground cafe astro and basketball court
Nice enough park. Best bits for me are the canal walk you can do which is not really in the park but you can start walking the canal from there. Nice cafe in the park too and markfield road has some good cafe and eateries
Not been here for a few years and enjoyed my time with the kids..not many people there but all wearing masks
Excellent park! Very much needed open space in South Tottenham
Excellent place to unplug, grab a coffee and listen to the birds and sounds of water.
Nice place to relax and cool off with some ice cream. The park is always trimmed down ready for use. The exercise machines and children playing grounds make Markfield the go to place. The canal is just a couple of steps away which offers an unbeatable sight seeing showcasing the beauty of nature. All are welcome to refresh at Markfield
It is quite a small park but there is a play ground for children of all ages. There is a Coffee shop with nice coffee and variety of food to choose from. Where you can also use a restroom. Right next to the Canal with ducks in it. It is fun to walk by the Canal and feed the ducks. Also when you walk right up you reach the Tottenham Hale station.
Beautifully laid out park with children`s play area, rose garden, community garden (old filter beds), sports pitches and cafe.
Verey nice restful
1. No toilet services available.
2. The waste processing unit near the entrance to the park from Markfield Road seems a health hazard to children and venerable adults.
3. Cycle lanes necessary inside the park
4. Space for critical reflection needed
5. The park need renewals ( invest in planting eye catching flowers in all available places etc)
6. Put recycling bins in visible areas.
7. The purpose of a park is to make connection between nature and people as well as people and space..so design it seriously for long term result.
Enough space for play ball games and good playground for kids, and it's allowed make BBQ at specific areas.
Great Loval Park, with ALL you can ask for in a Park 😊
Great place to check out some street art graffiti & skateboarding
Pleasant local park with an excellent café that sells a wide choice of food and drinks The steam engine is a must see
Played statues on a Pedestal and drapped in blossoms
Lovely local park with a cafe, skatepark and public toilets. Great trees and the canal taking you all the way east. Picnics and BBQ's in the summer.
Nice park, nice cafe. Just by the canal, I walk there every Sunday with my daughter, we have breakfast in the cafe and then continue our lovely walk.
Nice little park with play area. Good for smaller kids. There's a cafe and adventure playground too.
Nice Park for families, cafetiere, museum, skate park and legal graffiti spot next to the canal.
Nice park great cafe....fresh food friendly staff.
Love the park since old skool days, the graffiti spot is always a classics..
Great for dog walks. Get to see the skaters. Love the skate park, everywhere has a negative outlook on skateboarding and bmx'ing but I think its wonderful and I love that they haven't demolished this place.
Attended a beautiful wedding of last summer. There is a nature walking path with a featuring large lawn next to the riverside as well as all that there is a cafe with a steam room museum next to it. The steam engine is so huge it made me feel like an ant. It was so amazing to watch and to read all the information in the museum and look at many photos at old tools that was used at the time. Me and fiancé will be getting married in the future and would love to have ours there.
Nice art wall. Lovely cafe. Perfect to bring kids for an ice cream on a sunny day
Lovely park. Pretty views and nice open space
Nice place to have a walk with the kids
A beautiful Park along the stunning Lea Valley.Markfield Park is home to the industrial heritage Markfield Beam Engine and Museum. There is also a lovely cafe and washroom facilities on site. In front of the cafe is a beautiful Rose Garden. Another unique garden in the park is the Conservation Garden. There are limited parking facilities in Markfield Park. Thank you.
Good but they need to allow people to use the outdoor gym. People need to be able take care of their mental and physical health now more then ever.
Good mix of play and dog walking areas, you can walk along the river lee. Go fishing, sometimes the beam engine is working but you will need top check the website for that as it's very rare nowadays. Part of the site was the first ever smallpox hospital in the world. There's is a skate park in that area though
Stopped off whilst walking from Stratford to Tottenham Hale along the Rover Lea navigation. Nice cafe very friendly. Steam Beam Engine Museum right next to cafe, did not have time to look round on this visit.
Large , spacious park alongside canal with children's play area, cafe, toilets. The cafe is lovely, run by a very friendly couple who have done so much to improve the cafe area, lending out children's toy cars, beautifying the area with plants, trellises, benches. They serve a wide range of food & drinks & ice creams.
The only let down is that the toilets were not well maintained when I visited today, no toilet paper, no soap & could do with a deep clean to remove limescale.
As parks go, there’s nothing special about this one. Green, cafe, river. I lived nearby and walked through here for the better part of 15 years. The 2 unique gifts of this park are the skate park and the graffiti street art at the far end of the park. You won’t notice it just walking by. Just wonder around at the area of the cafe till you find it (in lack of clearer instruction, it’s the best I can offer at the moment)
Great park loads of space & a lovely little cafe serving hot & cold food
I had a fantastic Barbecue with my grandchildren on Easter Sunday in this park
A well maintained and very well equipped park with a BMX area, lots of seating, play areas for younger kids, a large field for ballgames / relaxing, a little cafe, and even free toilets
Lovely open space. Well maintained with a nice café. Also has a skate board park but this does need some love and attention.
I have ridden along the canal several times but never noticed the cafe in the park before. Do a few circuits before settling down for a lovely coffee before riding home. Family areas away from basic square perimeter so could ride at a decent pace without scaring users or worrying about collisions. Will prove a useful circuit in the future. Coffee was very nice too in large outside seating area.
Bmx bike course jumps sideway jumps etc skateboarders good crowd , young children area , cafe large field , bdays , barbecues and football .
Been a local park of mine for 30 years...it has been through many changes and now a lovely drop-in spot with cafe close to the River Lee. You can walk along the tow path up towards Ponders End or south to Springfield Park and beyond.
Great out door space with great fields to play and run about in. There's a lovely cafe which serves hot food and drinks which is child friendly. The play area is adequate but some equipment needs urgent attention with broken and very sharp ropes.
Nice green space in the midst of the concrete jungle but the highlight that Google decided to omit is Avie's Cafe next to the water pump station. Nice food & selection of ice cream with possibly the most entertaining cafe owner in London. Check it out.
Another park in this area that has a lot to offer including table tennis, cafe and outside gym. Nice on warm summer evenings with plenty of people making the most of what it has to offer.
Great place for the kids to have fun and the parents to enjoy a drink or two in the bar located in the park
Lovely local park, never too busy, super chilled. Two thumbs up 👍👍
Lovely place to relax and the beam engine makes it even more interesting.
Pleasant park and nice little cafe. Probably worth a visit when the Markfield steam engine is open again (if you like a steam engine 😉).
Park plus cafe, and beam engine museum. Worth a visit if you are passing on the Lea Navigation cycle path.
Very big and beautiful park. Not much people are around but it is good for relaxion for those who listen to audios, music or just quiet time. Lol.
It's good for walking and meeting up with friends at the cafe. There is a steam engine that used to pump sewage around the ponds during the Victorian era which is open second Sunday every month and steaming weekends. The volunteers who run the museum are knowledgeable and friendly and helpful and will tell you about the pump and it's history.
There are tennis courts also for the more energetic and the river Lea for the more laid back members of society.
Epic! Loads of space for walking, cycling, sun bathing, picnicking, relaxing, access to the river lea path etc
My first visit really. Walk with my sister. Cyclists are a pain but there is a canal nearby which is lovely. But apart from that it's your standard park. Loads of families and young adults.
No public toilets but it has a cafe, skate park and footpath cycling along the river Lee.
A really nice place, with a lot of entertainment!
Lovely park with stunning open spaces
The park itself is quite interesting being set among the remains of the old water treatment works which take the form of very substantial concrete walls . But we had a snack and the cafe which has quite an extensive menu however it took a long time to get served
Not the most beautiful park but a nice place for spending and afternoon. It is ideal for kids: big playground, large grass field to run or play football and a cafe with lots of outdoors seats and toys for kids.
What l know. Markfield Park is open for everybody...residents around and people can walk around the Park .....but as for mè l always go there with my Service User.....
Very nice park with Coffee Shop and toilets available, including disabled access.
Very clean park...my kid keeps him self busy in playground
Jus be needed to fix some thing in playground
Wonderful cafe and large playground, open space and local people
I was surprised to discover the park and Steam Engine and Museum in outskirts of London.
Great place to sit and relax. The Steam Museum is free, but please make a donation to a worthy cause. Close by is the Wetlands, another great place to visit.
Lovely park, right next to the Lea navigation. Very popular with families at the weekend. Has a skate park in the far corner.
Markfield Park is a vibrant park for all the family. It has the steam engine museum with an active engine - brilliant.
The space around is nicely laid out.
There is a cafe and building space for indoor activities.
The park is beautiful and the centre helps parents with disabled children to get training and help required for their growth, education and social interaction.
A surprisingly nice park, although it looks deceptively large on the map as a lot of it is taken up with football pitches. Because it's next to a school, it can get very crowded. Springfield Park (about a mile south along the canal) is better for kids, as it has a lot more hills and trees for them to tire themselves out.
It's a nice park with some exercise machines and toys for kids
Interesting small park. Big area for sports and exercise. Great little cafe too
I have been training in this park for long time ago and now it's not safety anymore Officials and security must intensify their surveillance of the bandits, who have become blackmailing people in broad daylight armed with knives and swords lately.
It’s a nice local park. Can get crowded easily as it near a lot of schools.
Sunny and spacious. Public toilets are gross though and the park isn't directly on the canal.
Lovely and friendly staff. The park is well maintained and plenty of place to sit and shade from the sun. Lots of toy cars for the kids to ride in.
Great little park. Has cafe where you can sit outside because there are fixed seats.
It's a nice park, right next to the canal. There's an outdoor gym, kids play area and a cafe while having plenty of open space for games or running.
A nice enough Park, with a decent cafe, super fun playground for the kids, some basketball pitches, large patches of grass for a football game or just lying in the grass, secret bmx track, and if you are lucky you will see an old steam engine in operation
A large park. A very nice place to go to with ur children. A nice play area
Beautiful park with car park and kids play area.
A very pretty park, with a good playground, a bmx track behind the fascinating beam engine museum (only open on the second Sunday of the month, sadly) and a truly great café that serves good food at keen prices. Try the coffee - it's great and the place is perfect for groups.
Was very busy with cyclists but plenty of room to run and have a sit down had a nice day there
Spacious park on the site of the former Tottenham sewage works featuring football fields, a kids playground, a very nice cafe and a working 19th century beam engine. I've knocked one star off as it's not particularly safe in the dark. During the day, though, this is one of the nicer parks in North London.
Lovely place for a family walk. Good facilities for children with a playground for older and younger ones. It also has an outdoor gym and a cafe.
Nice park with lovely playground. Cafe on site
Lovely park excellent for a stroll. People very relaxed
Nice and clean park.
Not a bad little park if you're near by. But avoid at night as it's close to Tottenham. You'll get robbed and punched in the face. Happened to a lady on the tow path recently.....
Small little park, very local to me. Nice little cafe but do remember toilets close with cafe! Usually not too packed.
Spacious park with handy cafe , and museum. Next to the river Lea.
Amazing park for relaxing and walking through nice paths along the river Lee, but might be unsafe at nights
Such a nice and interesting place for walking or cycling. Unfortunately, the museums are closed now.
Amazing!! It's a kool a place for all the family.
Small and beautiful Park close to river Lea. Great for families. Guess what the Victorian beam engine was for? There's also a small cafe with inner space and a little pergola.
Nice place to take the kids to key off steam, relax or walk near tge river. Plenty of space. Sit on the grass or one of the many benches
Beautiful place all kinds of people skate/bike park big field, u can get ur tan on if u want lol good vibes canal as well
Nice cafe in the park and great shortcut to Tottenham Hale Retail Park
Be nice when the beam engine is open
The skate park is brilliant for TC buggies. Top lemonade and crisps in the cafe
Markfiled Project is a God sent organisation with gifted people, and also home of a lovely green and leafy area to peacefully and happily enjoy with family and friends.
Good young children's play area and cafe but toilets closed atm due to lockdown
Very much enjoyed the park, it was spacious and fantastic for chasing Pokémon.
Great family park
It's a nice place to stretch your legs and have fun with the family
Lovely facilities lovely setting a fantastic local setting more people should enjoy this space.
Another beautiful anf family friendly London's park in Tottenham. Next to the river Lee, boats and wetlands. Great Sunday outdoors unless it rains.
Amazing, the skate park is so chill and the community is so nice! Had a blast :)
Cozy, different, a more relaxed pace, personal service, some cozy sofas. Great place to relax after or during a walk or jog
Awesome local park with nice friendly cafe and beautiful mature trees.
A good place for the kids to play around, good size play area that doesn't get too crowded, a picnic area and a nice walk along the canal.
The cafe is great. Friendly owner, good coffee and lovely selection of cakes. Nice use cream too.
Friendly cafe with nice coffee
Nice little park. Full of locals on a hot summers day having BBQs and sunbathing. There is a little cafe in the park too
Go down Markfield Road, pass the purgatory of O'Donovan's, walk through the tunnel and emerge in paradise. Beyond the rose garden to the left, the park cafe. The playground to the right, a theatre of many languages, including one nearly lost. Press on to Stamford Hill, or take a walk by the canal, where many houseboats bravely moor and brood the swans.
We had a beautiful walk
Beautiful park. Take the walk from Hackney Marshes up through Millfields park/Walthamstow Wetlands/Springfield and finish up here for a drink. Perfect in the summer!
Lovely space and playground for kids basket ball court and the old water works. Café too.
Lovely little park....good stop off from towpath on River Lea. Excellent cafe with great food & coffee all day 24/7!
Very beautiful park, I didn't even know that park was there until I came across it. Worth visiting.👍👌
Nice place. With a cool skate park
Awesome place made by awesome people
Kids loved it and had lots of fun.
Though always good to take with some extra activity in case the older kids want to free play
Great local park with cool playground, cafe, skate park, and an inclusive community project. Be careful after dark.
Beautiful track
Nice location right next to the River Lea
Good skatepark and the graff work is cool.
Nice little cafe and the Beam engine is beautiful
Well worth a visit
Nice place, water canal look and lots of people around there 👌👌👌
Sunny cosy sport ,family and dog friendly green park .
Great for bike riding, also near the canal
Used by the locals great little green
Lovely park, good place to go for a run. They also sell great ice cream.
Lovely park with nice playground for children, picnic area and cafe.
Worth checking skate park and graffiti artists at work.
Beautiful park and eye catching scene. Well maintained, worth a visit
Very welcoming cafe just off the River Lee. Besides tea and coffee also serves alcohol. Seating in and out.
Lovely park, can have barbecue etc...... family day out , couples day out for every walk of life 💚💚💚
Nice and quiet park.
Great place to stop on your way if you are walking/cycling the Lea canal
Good relaxing place. Beautiful flowers.
Local green area to relax and do some sports. Also the outdoor gym is amazing
Great little local park with a cafe which will keep the kids amused!
Best place to relax and play sports. From Michael a Park View Ranger football player
Lovely day out with the kids, 2 small complaints, there are no swings and there is quicksand in the toddlers playground.
Great for running and exercise in general. Body weight lift and other weight lifting equipments available outdoors
A very warm welcome please to be.
Great cafe, very friendly owner with a great sense of humour xx
Nice park to jog in plus nice friendly cafe.
It's ok. Play equipment is a bit basic and mundane planting schemes but quite relaxing and peaceful
Such a lovely place!
Perfect very relaxing and some good enjoying time place
Amazing place to chill with other mums whilst your kids are off playing. Love the security of this place.
Such a nice park I only just started using.
Tucked away in side roads behind the station. It was not too busy and I was met at the door and given instructions how to collect my order.
My kids love this place, very nice playground and amazing for biking!
Lovely park can imagine nice family walks along the canal
Fresh coffee, sandwiches and soft drinks.
Tasty meals, good coffee, friendly staff. Recommended for families and dog lovers!
Love that park amazing place to make some fireworks
A nice park with a cafe that serves quality food. There also is a canal which runs along side of it
Great park, well looked-after by conscientious park-keeper, cafe owner and Friends group.
I played in this park.in the 1940s. it was called markfield road recreation ground .then. I lived at 91 CROWLAND ROAD UNTILL AUGUST 1949. I AM NOW 83. LIVE IN BILLERICAY ESSEX.
Nice and peaceful park to walk around after school hours
Love this park quiet but friendly great cafe and a steam powered pumping station
Very nice place where to meet friends, family or going to have a break.
The road going to it is dusty and noisy because of work in progress.
There is a coffee shop, toilets, playground for children and a lot green space.
Great cafe. Lovely owners. Wicked skate park behind with loads of graffiti to look at.
There are football piches and great walks nearby in lea vally
Nice park, shame about the terrible food at the cafe, otherwise I'd come more often.
Great for hiking, sightseeing and picnics.
Interesting place to visit especially if you go on a steaming day
Peaceful, plenty of benches, kids can play safely or bike along the paths

Nice peacefull park in the middle Tottenham. Sat there in the sun this morning at 8.45
Nice park. Good playground.
A popular park close to the river Lee. worth exploring.
Impressed I was. Looks like a GOOD venue for a wedding
Nice cafe. Skateboard Park a little secluded.
Great outdoor space to get away from the hussle and bussle of the city.
It's a fairly large park for family and friends including sports
A fun and nice park to walk
Only been once, lovely park
Great place I loved the environment ♥
Local park with play ground for children and Beam Engine museum
Very clean area. Close to the canal. Children's playground and rugby field.
