Reviews of Seven Park Place by William Drabble

I don't give 5 stars, but this place deserves every single one. We were sat at the bar, a nice setting and atmosphere, before our meal and had a great cocktail, very smooth and tasty. Once sat at our table we have picked the wine pairing with the 7 course meniu, the food was delicious and perfectly explained as well as the wine pairing that complemented the food. The service was absolutely excellent and without a fault, we have expressed our gratitude for a very well job done, would not believe the staff has only 3 weeks there. All of this over a 3h45min experience in a very nice and cosy environment. Highly recommend, it is worth every penny.

Absolutely perfect. The ambience was very smart and comfortable, the service and staff were elegant and attentive, and the food was just outstanding. I particularly liked the foie gras and the banana parfait - the parfait reminded of banana fritters I had as a kid. I really loved this restaurant and I will definitely come back again. Thanks so much!

A seven course celebration of Britain's finest produce.
Turning a French fine-dining menu on its head, The Menu Gourmand, was cooked entirely without meat. It was bliss with every bite.
The star of the show, A Pithivier of Artichoke stuffed with Duxelles Mushrooms took the fungus I adore to another hemisphere. Out of the two desserts, the Whipped Vanilla Cheesecake with Strawberries and Crumble is a keeper. One I could wake up next to for the rest of my days.
Aside from the genius cookery of William Drabble, the wine pairing was spot on. Incredible service from Matteo and the team made the evening one to remember. Five stars for Seven Park Place.

Visited here for lunch using a gift voucher hoping for the same standards of service one would expect from a 1* Michelin awarded restaurant. On arrival we were pointed to a table, offered water and then left for a good amount of time whilst wondering what might happen next. After being handed a wine list to mull-over for a while, still having little explanation as to what's going on. Eventually our waiter arrived and asked to confirm the voucher details linked to our booking. Afterward he produced a little card with a set course menu for us to choose from. We made our selection and he asked if we wanted any wine, to which we said no but we were not offered any alternative such as soft drinks/juices etc. The first dish was a pre-starter gazpacho which was great. However, as I was still eating, my partners bowl was taken and she was also told "Let me take this as your starter is now ready". I carried on eating and had pieces of cutlery being laid around me for the upcoming course which was a bit uncomfortable. Despite this the starter was as enjoyable as the gazpacho, as was the main/dessert. But the pace of delivery was just all over the shop. This is the bread and butter of the Michelin standard and I found the service highly unusual and definitely not to level we came in expecting. I don't know if this was because we were deemed less important for being a voucher paying guest or if the service in general just isn't that good. Nevertheless, we wanted to add a tip (as this wasn't included on our bill) but this wasn't acknowledged sadly. As a whole, despite feeling the food was certainly enjoyable - the overall experience would be easily forgotten.

Very enthused staff
Changed my booking as I got into London early. Arrived at 1200, first problem, reception were taking an age to book clients in and there were no signs directing di ers to the restaurant.
Eventually found my own way into the restaurant. I was first. And staff were clearly not ready for me as they were in an archway chatting and took quite a while to eventually see me, saying that, this was the only negative in a very good experience.
The venue is gently decorated in reasonably subtle decor.
The menu choice was always going to be the Gourmand.
I started off with three amuse bouche followed by a surprise extra game soup, which was superb.
Each individual course, served at a perfect rate, was well presented and beautifully flavoured.
I was interested in the fact they did meat fish meat which was unusual.
I am not usually a particular fan of cooked apple, but my goodness the apple tart was quite sensational.
The mocktail was one of the nicest I have ever had.
Toilets were small but beautifully presented.
Staff very attentive and chatty
Great experience

Last night went for a meal at @sevenparkplace in the @stjameshotelandclub , a lovely little hotel near Mayfair, we had to have the Tasting menu as that's the only menu available on the weekend, The food was fantastic and full of flavour the first course which was Lobster was probably the best Lobster I have ever had, the service was friendly and very helpful, (gave us a very good wine choice) the restaurant not being that busy still had a lovely and relaxed atmosphere, all in all I would 100% recommend this place its was a fantastic evening.

Superb!! The best fine-dining restaurant in London! Each dish is carefully and perfectly cooked. I was astonished by the quality of courgette fritters, how can they fry them so delicately!? Great service and atmosphere as well. Visit here annually and they never disappoint me!

Apart from my venison main (which I suspect is because I’m not comfortable with rare meats other than beef), the food was incredible. The courses in between were divine, with the artichoke soup being my highlight of the night. The scallops were the best I can remember I’ve had. My passion fruit soufflé dessert was delicious but so enormous in size, I could only manage 2 bites. And yes, the soufflé fills the entire dish down to the bottom! The staff were fantastic bar one, due to his cringe worthy attempt at being pretentious. Expect intimate settings, maybe slightly too intimate for some as there were a few awkward moments with staff hovering too close. Overall, great food and we will be revisiting. Prices reasonable for the standard delivered.

The staff are so welcoming, friendly, polite and make you feel so amazingly important. They go above and beyond in their customer service. The whole meal was exceptional and the drinks were fantastic. By far the best restaurant experience I have had in a long time.

This was an exceptional lunch, the food was fantastic and the service was everything you would expect from a fine dining experience.
Currently the dining room is the club library in the basement while the main room is refurbished although this work should be completed by mid November. This is still a lovely space, nicer than many with just 9 tables the same as the main room.
The food is full of fresh flavours making good use of seasonal vegetables and contrasting flavours.
We started with an amuse-bouche of Cream of Jerusalem Artichoke soup which was as rich and smooth as you could possible possibly won't. A starter of fresh slightly marinated pan fried herring with apple chutney and Savoy cabbage was delicious as was my companions Pumpkin and Sweet Potato soup although calling it a soup does it an injustice. Mains of Roast Cod and Duck were both excellent and again the parcel of Savoy cabbage served with the duck was rich and bursting with flavour.
Then came the rather devine puddings banana mousse covered in chocolate served with caramelized banana, amazing.
The petit fours were fantastic (and unlike another review I would say keep them coming) the coconut marshmallows to take away were devine.
I have discovered my new favourite restaurant.
Will be back soon

Lovely building and great restaurant interior. Very intimate and the lighting is perfect. Staff very friendly and not at all pretenous or snobby.
All dishes were beautifully presented and very tasty. Go ready to eat as it's a lot of food!
Space is to be redone and moved to lower level and work is to begin in a few months. Visit soon!
Highly recommended.

I would like to thank all the staff for the lovely experience you all gave me and my granddaughter on Saturday. Wonderful food and atmosphere and you were all so very helpful and friendly. We both enjoyed it so much something nice to remember for my BIG birthday. The card and little gift were a lovely thought and I will keep them although I don’t need reminders. I would certainly recommend it to anyone wanting to celebrate quietly, a special day. 🤗👍🤗

Wonderful experience in classic modern British style of cooking ! I love the soufflé here ! Also the starters are light and delicate ! The main course are hearty and a lovely glass of red wine will cut through it ! Beautiful experience

A beautiful restaurant hidden away down a side street, the atmosphere is very intimate and the staff very knowledgeable and attentive. The restaurant is cosy and well decorated, but the best thing is of course the food. Each course was very tasty and we never felt rushed at all they even ask if we wanted to take a break between courses which I thought was a nice touch. I would also recommend the wine pairing as this worked exceptionally well with each meal, but the Sommelier is extremely knowledgeable and would be able to suggest any of the wine they have on offer. All in all a lovely evening and I am looking forward to visiting again.

Some pros and cons so ended up with a 3-star rating. On the positive side, the ambience is lovely and service is by and large decent (though not superb for an establishment of this level). Food was a let down for both of us (we both found all the courses too salty; dessert was a tad too sweet and flavours could have been better balanced overall).
Was surprised that they don't offer a vegetarian option on the menu for their set lunch - but if you ask for it they do have one vegetarian dish for each course available. Just pray that it's something you like as it's your only option!
Overall, a decent enough place for meat eaters who like their food quite salty, and if you've not had much exposure to the world of fine dining, you should be reasonably happy with this place. But wouldn't be back as there are in fact much better options around.

My wife and I stopped by for lunch. It was a fantastic experience. The place is fantastic down to the smallest detail. Their bar is a sight to behold. Following our lunch, we were invited to visit their kitchen, where all food preparation takes place; it is enormous and immaculate.

It ‘s been a splendid experience! Everything was just perfect!

One of the best tasting menus we’ve had in London. Lobster course was especially exceptional but all were superb. Service also excellent. Great for a special occasion. Surprised it’s not more well known. Will definitely return.

Lunched with friends at this comfortable, Michelin-starred restaurant near Green Park. Very quiet at the moment, which I liked. Various menu options available but the three course set menu with wine pairing provided excellent value for food of this quality. Service was unobtrusive and pleasant. Not our first visit and definitely not our last.

An interesting & Happy luncheon experience in London,
food was great more like french style I guess, staff was helpful, cleanliness was ok, price? Its London it is expensive
The only think why I gave 4* it is because I found a little bit dirt in my tea cup, I am not tht fussy, I just clean it by my self
Overall, its quite interesting place and experience, will I go back?? Maybe...:)
W.
Individually the food was ok to good but somehow the combination felt quite heavy. The bread also felt like days old bread. Fois gras, pork and venison was on the better end and the snacks and consumes were a bit of a let down. The tables are also super close so felt a bit cramped. We were not wowed but it also wasn’t that bad. Staff were lovely. Would give 3.5 stars if possible.
E. E. H.
Absolutely incredible food in an amazing setting, cannot fault anything - from the service to the cocktails to the food itself!
x.
order delivery. Try to ask if they can serve some bread, but no serve. Ok, it's fine. But i can not accept the restaurant doesn't put any cutlery set.
Taste a little worse than setting in.
J. R.
Great experience! The food is very tasteful and done very nicely. William Drabble at Seven Park is a hidden gem in town. :)
E. L.
All dishes were delicious and the staff was very polite! Recommended!
E. F.
Cozy lounge area, friendly staff! If you enjoy art you would love it even more!! Def a Hidden gem

Fries are delicious! Burger is not good at all. Cheesecake has too much lemon. The fries are really good though.

We had a great lunch here today. It was delicious. Best chocolate desert and lobster soup. My partner had delecious and tender beef with mash patatoes. Also the lady who served the table with the waiter were very kind with us even though we were there with Virgin experience vaucher. Highly recomend.
G. C.
Food was outstanding as was the pairing wines...and couldn't not mention Alessandro waiting expertise
P. A.
Best food experience ever. Amazing food and flavours and the loveliest staff.
A. V.
Highly recommend, simply incredible! Went for the 2 course lunch menu and both the starters were delicious. The pork cheek dish mains was outstanding, rich, tender and with perfection in flavour and taste. (The Salmon mains dish was also great but nothing compared to the other dishes). The staff were super lovely. Alessandro and Nona gave superb service and so friendly. We will definitely be back again to try the famous 7 course tasting menu. Thank you!
J. H.
Outstanding meal here. The staff is friendly. Must try!
D. C.
Went for the three course meal with wine matching, food and wine was amazing as was the service.
A. P.
Great experience. I would expect that people like me using vouchers would be treated differently but no, great experience. The pork cheeks were out of this world.
B. G.
Had dinner last night. We both opted for the seven course gourmand menu. It was superb and very course was delicious. My stand out was the John Dory and my companion, the lobster. This is a seriously good restaurant and the room is lovely. Wine list excellent and our sommelier Nono was a delight and her recommendations spot on. This is one of the best restaurants in London.
P. A.
Service almost impeccable. Atmosphere lacking. Food pleasant and beautifully presented but rather uninspiring in the taste department. One or two courses were great but little to make us go wow. Wine paring with tasting menu OK but not great... I've had much better.
P. M.
Obscenely good food. The scallops starter was rich enough to be a main course. NOt been back in a while , must save up! We had a Spanish wine called Toro during the main course and I have tried to find it online, superb.
C. L.
Very nice restaurant with pleasant atmosphere. Extremely welcoming. Beautiful food and first class service. Would go again and highly recommend.

Wedding anniversary present from each other
Excellent service
Truly exceptional cuisine
A beautiful memory ❤️
M. K.
Food was as excellent as I’d remembered from years ago, but service was just bare minimum, so don’t think it deserves its star. No attempt to make the lunch more special than any other restaurant. Not a premium experience which is a shame as the food is fantastic.
Z. L.
Fabulous 3 course lunch today, lovely service
J. F.
The welcome was real, the food was out of this world!! Our Sommelier was outstanding... he nailed every course with the perfect accompaniment ... I would not hesitate to recommend.... we’ve booked again for Christmas. Bravo !
M. L.
Absolutely fabulous. One of the best dining experiences in London. The decor is amazing with roomy tables. Service is faultless with great knowledge of food and wine. The food makes you smile and salivate at the same time. Outstanding.
R. S.
One of my favorite restaurants in London. The service is perfect since the space is so small and intimate. I did the tasting menu and they were nice enough to accommodate for my shellfish allergy on the spot. All great dishes and the petit fours at the end were lovely. Great value for money (for a Michelin star place at least!) :)
C.
A perfect lunch with wine pairing in an intimate dining space. Excellent service - just the right balance of friendliness, with professionalism. I'd highly recommend for food and wine lovers. We'll be back.
M. H.
Fantastic food here with the chef really working hard to produce some interesting dishes. In particular the steak here was outstanding and I had a white truffle infused ice cream that was out of this world. Decor is very smart, in keeping with the rest of the hotel. Bar area is also very nice and has some great cocktails on offer. Service was top notch, friendly and helpful. Will return!
C. B.
Visited the restaurant here, William Drabble at 7 Park Place, with a Virgin Experience Days Voucher. The food was good but not up to the standard I have enjoyed in other Michelin starred establishments. Dessert was the best course. The atmosphere was good and the staff friendly.
P. B.
Lovely venue serving good food and drink.

We enjoy going out. Last night we visited this delicious restaurant which we didn’t know before. We passed a delightful time there with fine dishes and a courteous stuff and a great chief cook. We put this fine restaurant in our list and we will certainly come back soon. Highly recommended.
S.
Top quality restaurant, food is made very interesting by the range of ingredients and techniques the chef uses. The service is exceptional too. Will definitely go back again. Catered for our vegetarian requirements very well.
M. J.
Absolutely brilliant... Brought my brother for his birthday. The girls were lovely.. We had afternoon tea and a game of scrabble and were well looked after. He even got a chocolate cake birthday surprise which was really sweet... Would definitely recommend this venue.
D. D.
We ate at Seven Park Place on Valentines Day, and the restaurant is just absolutely delightful! With only 9 tables, you really felt special, and the food, wine and service matched the elegant, luxurious decor. Excellent value too. We will be returning for Valentines lunch again this year, and cannot wait!
Z. F.
Absolutely brilliant... Brought my husband for his birthday. The girls were lovely.. We had afternoon tea and a game of scrabble and were well looked after. He even got a chocolate cake birthday surprise which was really sweet... Would definitely recommend

Ate here without really planning to having been for a drink at the bar first. There wasn't anything vegetarian on the menu, so I asked the waiter if they could do something - they offered a salad to start, followed by a mushroom risotto. Yawn yawn yawn. Is that all these fine dining restaurants can ever do for vegetarians? It wasn't even a particularly good mushroom risotto either - cheap uninteresting mushrooms (including the now boringly ubiquitous shimeji). Had it been made with genuine wild mushrooms - morels perhaps given the time of year - I might have forgiven them. I had made a better mushroom risotto myself at home a few days ago - with porcini - for a lazy Saturday lunchtime. Do I get a Michelin star now?
I hadn't really looked at the prices when ordering and was quite taken aback to see I'd been charged £55 plus service for these two very unimaginative and basic courses.
I think this is probably the worst value meal I have ever had in London.
O. B.
Had their boardgame themed afternoon tea.
The sandwiches and scones were exquisite, the service attentive.
But the sweets were a real disppointment (save the looks) - varying from tasteless shortbread to dry sponge on some of the items, to uninspired chocolate and absolutely revolting marmalade on others. Only the marzipan covered battenberg cube and the toffee chesspieces (on top of said drab shortbread) save the day.
Also they only refill scones and sandwiches once, which is a bit stingy (the sandwiches are tiny).
If it weren't on sale for January and I had to pay the full 40 quid I would have been very annoyed - this is a michelin star restaurant after all and I expected so much more.
I. Y. H.
This was a pretty impulsive decision week three into Easter break. A friend from home was on exchange in England and girly English afternoon tea was decidedly apt. My housemate saw this 20GBP deal which I reckoned was pretty worth it, what more at a one Michelin star restaurant. We ordered the set for 3 and there were one too many scones but no regrets !
J. L.
Delightful food and the sommelier was exceptional really explained the wines and where they came from which paired perfectly with each course.
L. H.
Food and paired wines are amazing. 3 course lunch with wine is only £52 - great price for Michelin starred food.

(Translated) Celebrated my birthday. Great menu. Both the adults and the daughter liked all the dishes. 8 meal changes and compliments before and after dinner. A perfect combination in seafood, fish, foie gras, mushrooms and venison. Attentive presentation, unobtrusive service. Wine premium support per person is high in price, but we were satisfied.
