Reviews of Westminster Abbey Precincts - Dean's Yard
Amazing venue for my daughters confirmation. The sheer Size of the Abbey was a lot to take in. Just beautiful and overwhelming. Stunning.
It was an honour and a privilege to be invited to the Abbey to celebrate the Royal British Legion's 100th anniversary. A truly magnificent building and very special to be in the presence of the Queen.
Lovely experience to go and see Westminster Abbey, Had a great time and a beautiful place to come visit! Recommended for all to come and see, masks are optional, disabled friendly, great time! 😊
Once again a wonderful experience at the Abbey. So much history and some extraordinary statues, side chapels and memorials. One is the Founder of Tottenham Grammar School, sarah Duchess of Somerset. In the next chapel, a scene with a woman being protected from being stabbed with a lance. All human life is there?!
The history here is incredible and the staff have some amazing knowledge too. However, the poor accessibility and lame excuses for it ate a great pity.
Magnificent piece of sublime history. Spent a day walking around enjoying every alcove and detail of this priceless gem of Christendom.
Took a tour with Verger Alice who's knowledge and love of her Abbey was splendid and enlightening. Great decision. It's so easy think we know everything we need to know about history. As an old world weary architect and keen student of history I was astounded how little I actually knew. Learned so much and ended up with a deeper more passionate love and understanding of Westminster Abbey.
If I could add an extra couple of star ratings I would. Can't wait to do more research before my inevitable return.
Amazing medieval cathedral where many kings were crowned and many Royals got married. With its own subway station it is perfectly accessible.
If you don't have the money to purchase a rather expensive ticket to visit the cathedral then you may ask to pay your respects and light a candle. You will then be able to access part of the church and still get a rather phenomenal view.
I've been there many times times and I am always in awe to worship here.
The Royal church with gothic style, a very beautiful and sacret place indeed. You can book to do a church service on Sunday to experience more than just a normal tour or come for a daily service on mid day ard 12.00 (except Sunday on 11.15 am). Pls. Check visit guide during the covid 19. Come and pray to the lord, whom will hear your prayer.
The Hidden Highlights tour was really excellent, and it was a privilege to be able to visit these normally closed areas with Scott, head of the visitors’ team who made it a very relaxed yet stimulating experience.
Loved it .Londoun tourist information deptt is so helpful .
Really nice place, security staff are friendly and not overtly pushy. Go in for free at the front if you are a worshipper, or if you want to go around the entire Abbey and have a look in detail - pay the admission fee.
Very nice place to visit in London
A wonderful place to visit.
Well worth stopping to look at the ten 20th Century martyrs carved here. The martyrs include Martin Luther King, Elizabeth of Russia & Archbishop Romero.
Visiting Westminster Abbey. Totally beautiful historical place. Give yourself time to absorb it all and don't forget to look up ...and down.
Very nice place to visit. Costs about £18 to go in but you can walk to Westminster Cathedral about 15min walk away which is free.
Absolutely amazing place to visit, from Royal Weddings and the burial place of some of the most important people in our history as well as amazing architecture.
A bit expensive but a must-see for all history lovers and even more so tomb-chasers (kings, queens, famous politics, scientists but also poets are resting there).
Nice place in the centre of London, surprisingly quiet. A good place for contemplation.
Pretty neat. Lots to see. Don't miss out on my friend Will.
It was full of history that makes people wonder. Some sections of the church were closed to the visitors which was the only dissatisfied detail..
Stumbled onto this location during Remembrance Day. Wow, what an experience! Wonderful people and beautiful grounds.
This place is absolutely stunning is definitely worth a visit
Beautiful historic. Wonderful seeing this building we're so many things have happened.
Fascinating place steeped in history, well worth a visit
Amazing Architecture BIG THANKS TO ALL THE LOVELY PEOPLE WHO WERE PLANTING POPPIES
Nice place to to kill a few hours if you're into British history
A must visit in London. Sir Stephen Hawking is buried there
It's visually stunning...especially seeing it lit up at night
Beautiful place to learn history and pay respects
I had the unusual privilege of being one of only 10 visitors to the Abbey last Friday morning at 0930. So quiet and peaceful and cool - I remained until 1445 and left with a strong feeling of being connected with history.
Lovely
It's a nice precinct, but the signing is very confusing. The entrance to No 1, the register office, is through No 2. Easy to find the site thankfully, since it's literally attached to the side of Westminster Abbey
Great. Amazing area with boundless history.
The gate staff were very helpful, to my son with special needs. Thank you
beautiful just sitting looking at this lovely place. we sat and had a picture watching this fine architecture
A very special experience attending a service here. The music is superb.
One of the most beautiful cathedrals in England. Also home to the final resting place of many renowned personalities through time.
Great place, so much history.
Wonderful experience. Thank you for keeping such care.
What a beautiful abbey
Fantastic place to visit in London.amazing
Beautiful building, worth a visit
Great place to have your vaccine. Very kind of the Abbey authorities to offer this most beautiful space
An beautiful and historical oasis of calm, though currently not always open to the public .
A lovely little bit of tranquillity right in the heart of London! It's a nice place to just come to for a quiet moment, away from the hustle and bustle of London life. The surrounding buildings associated with Westminster Abbey are quite architecturally striking too.
Nice view of the abbey from here. Good photo op.
An agreeable and peaceful green patch surrounded by some suitably atmospheric period buildings.
Perhaps of more interest to those of an historic bent exploring the Abbey precincts. Certainly warrants a look-in if thereabouts.
Poignant reminder of the fallen on Remembrance Sunday.
Magnificent. Just stand and feel history come alive
Great place to visit. I enjoyed my time here.
Beautiful green square in the heart of Westminster, with clerical offices, school and meeting spaces associated with Westminster Abbey. Serves as scenic cut-through from Victoria Street to Great College Street.
Wonderful place to visit
Went to pay my respect to all the fallen
Beautiful location amid Westminster Abbey and associated shop and cafe. I believe it is the venue for occasional open air cinema too, which we'd have liked to have seen.
Lively yard near the Westminster Abbey, often used as the passing way between the old town streets (where the big Church shop can be found) and the Westminster Abbey or the Houses of Parliament. Cosy space, surrounded by the famous historic buildings. Come and visit yourself!
There is also the "Barclays" bank near the Westminster Abbey and St. James Park as well as Westminster underground stations further on.
Passing By and Always Delighted with the scenery
Looks like a painting
And a lot of stories.
Greqt architecture with so much history. Check times for visiting....

Went for a wine tasting in Church House. Lovely setting away from the bustle of Parliament Square.
One of the most iconic historic sites in London. Well worth the money to go in.

Lovely place.
Try the Benugo cafe inside the Deans Yard. The coffee is really good and the service is excellent as well.

Exciting
Beautiful architecture that definitely warrants a visit.
A rare find unless you know how to find this place - beautiful memory
It is amazing how there are no tourists here, in the middle of London!
The courtyard has got building equipment in a corner which spoils it a little at the moment.
Can get crowded at times, but good tourist spot overall.
Great place to visit the history is well told

(Translated) Excellent gem of British Gothic architecture. The history that the walls and chapels of such a famous abbey keep between coronations of kings and queens and the supulture of no less than 19 monarchs and their spouses, as well as famous characters from universal history, is impressive.
(Original)
(Translated) Westminster Abbey comprises most of the rest of the historic area of the Westminster Monastery or Abbey. He is known to Westminster School members as Green. It is a large, fenced square, closed to public traffic, mainly green, on which students have long acquired exclusive rights to sit, read and play games such as football (there are rumors that it was invented there). For several centuries, until the beginning of the 17th century, the square was one-third of its present size, because in the south there was a boarding house, which was a granary during the monastic times.
(Original)
