Small free carpark with paths through the woods to various locations and view points, one track leads to a public house the hook and hatchet with good food. The paths are not disabled friendly as the routes are on uneven ground and grass and several sloping areas, muddy when wet, cross country powered wheelchairs might find it hard going, hand powered only on dry days with strong helpers. Great for dog walkers only one poo bin at carpark entrance. Free map by main carpark sign.

Beautiful place to come and enjoy long walks. Parking area is not big, so when we came, it was already full and we needed to drive a little bit further down the road where we parked just next to another entrance.

One of my favourite spots. Loads of walking. The kids loved seeing the sheeps grazing.
They sculptures are amazing and we went to see my long time friend Mr Woody the shepherd.

Very muddy (Jan 2021) - you will need boots. Small carpark that gets crowded. Lovely woods and walks and interesting sculptures. Great for children to run around.

What a find! Only 10 miles away too!! Car park is small so I think next time we will go early but so many lovely trails to get lost in! Very good 3 hours out in the countryside today

Excellent spot for a walk. Free parking in small car park (with a height barrier). A collection of clearly signed walks.

Wow what a rural retreat. It's beaituful all year round. Parking is easy, either at the Hook & Hatchet (lovely pub), or alternative parking up the valley nearer the woodland side. Entrance is via your usual country code kissing gates, with signage for conservation etiquette. The woodland is stunning for bluebells and other rare treats. The fields are actively used by livestock, sheep mostly, so look after them! The views are beautiful overlooking rolling hills. A great little place to get away from it all.

Lovely open space for walking well behaved dogs. Out of the way for normal park users so this place is kept very tidy.
