Reviews of Debdale Park
M. S.
Only walked around a small part of it. Struggled to park, signs tell you to park on the outdoor pursuits car park, which is only small so I would imagine it gets full very quickly during school holidays or at weekends. Facilities seemed quite good. Bowling green, children's play area and a cafe (didn't go in).
A. W.
First time in this gem on my doorstep. It's a great place for all the family. Walking through the woods or playing tennis. Boating or walking the dog. Well worth a visit
R. A.
Love Debdale Park!
It’s a little bit (well a lot actually!) of countryside in a big city. It’s a break from the hustle and bustle of life and a moment of peace when you visit Debdale.
There’s so much to see here, reservoirs, water birds, heroes wood, playground, cycle track (Fallowfield Loop passes here), eco centre, coffee shop, community hub, flora and fauna, wildlife, tennis courts, skateboard park, bowling, loads of space to picnic (take your rubbish away please), a Mac Donald’s, just a short walk to the Donkey Sanctuary and two large golf courses.
Best using public transport to get here as there’s not loads of space to park.
Well worth a visit.

Great place for the kids to play, adults to chill and the dogs to run topped off with a reasonably priced ice-cream. We took ages from 1 to 55 and we all had a good time. Park is spotlessly clean

Great place for walking riding dog walking or just relaxing

More than there appears to be...
Debdale is a bit a hub on a network of other hubs. There are trails that lead to other parks, Reservoirs and golf courses. The facilities aren't high end, but just about adequate.
The main park does have basketball and tennis courts, bowling green and there is also a boating club on the Lower Reservoir. You can actually do water sports there like windsurfing and boating, but no jetski's! Did I mention a Reservoir? So yes, the park has two - the Upper and Lower Reservoir. There is a trail to walk between the two, which leads to the world famous Fallowfield Loop! 😉
The Fallowfield Loop cuts through the park and you can get to Reddish Vale, Highfield Country Park and even all the way to Chorlton!
So if your a jogger, enthusiastic walker or just looking to get some excercise there's plenty to explore.

Beautiful oasis, much bigger than you would think. Great dog walk with stunning views.
Lots of space for all.
Also home to a donkey sanctuary.

I had an excellent day out in choosing Debdale Park a huge expanse of loveliness and a great specimen of man and nature working together.
Lots for children to do, excellent for cycling and other field games. Plenty of shade for those of us who need to be in the shade.
All in all a great day was had and I'd recommend Debdale as place to go.
T. K.
Perfect spot for broad wide life styles. Can be from a walk in the park with a dog to a swimming with boats and canoys thingy, you can also feed the ducks.
R. G.
Great kids play area, great for walkers, cyclists, runners and also pushchair friendly. Also has a tennis area, skate park, cafe and other activity area
So fortunate to have this gem on my door step
A. M.
Really nice place to spend a day with family. There are huge parks for picnics or simply to sit or for kids to play. People can ride bikes on the tracks, or even run. It is very peaceful and generally quiet. There are some play areas for children too. The views are nice.
A. C.
Great Park for a stroll next to the reservoir, which can be walked or cycled around also McDonald's nearby, but Friday Saturday Sunday there's a little take out coffee stop that supports the upkeep of the park which is signposted.
C. B.
This is an awesome place. I'd never been, had no idea it was as large as it is. There's entry of walks, lovely gardens, kids play area and it backs on to a reservoir
L. C.
Love this park, great play park for the kids and a fab walk round with the dogs !
Also water sports available - great to watch if you’re not brave enough.
A. J.
A very unassuming park that has a lot to offer. Love the dye garden and the cafe there.
d. e.
Beautiful park, pristine and clean. Excellent facilities. And the ice cream van is mr whippy
J. C.
I've been going there as man and boy 60 years.
I can only speak highly of a large park where you can enjoy a lovely view of the reservoir. At the same time enjoying the usual amenities of a municipal park
G. K.
Beautiful 💗 lovely gardens, meadows, play ground for kids, lots of fresh air and activities.

Nice place to go for a walk you can even walk around the lake there wich is part of the wayersports activity centre near there. There is a bowling green there. A garden of remembrance and a little outdoor gardenp centre with a small cafe that sells hot drinks and snacks and some seating there to sit and drink your brews.
A. J.
Great Park for all the family you can take the little ones to the play area, walk in the gardens, feed the ducks and even visit the cafe.
K. B.
Didn't get to explore fully as was pouring down today but will definitely be going back. Flowers were lovely and had motivational messages or educational facts strewn about which was nice.
A. P.
This is a very nice park. Pretty big with several fields and gardens. We brought our dog here for a walk.
E. H.
Nice Park and boating lake. Really good for dog walking. There is a nice playground and toilet facilities but it's a bit hit and miss when they're open but it's near a McDonald's so you've not got far to go if desperate.
M. M.
Great place to walk.
Family oriented venue.
I. S.
Lovely large park with a watersports centre, donkey sanctuary, football and tennis areas etc
W. J.
Be nice if our population was evolved enough to respect what little nature we have left.
What is wrong with these people who litter, fly tip and graffiti?
This park could be much more beautiful with the respect it deserves.
W. B.
Beautiful walk for the kids, dog friendly ♿ Beautiful colours this time of year 🎃🍂🍁
J. a. f. G. (.
We had a lovely day here. We're brought a picnic and relaxed in a beautiful shady spot. The kids rolledd down the hills, ran in the grass, and played in the positive. It's great for prams and wheelchairs as well.

A nice and relaxing walk, would recommend especially with children. Has a ice cream van and park. Recommend bringing bread for the young ones to feed birds. Has a sea cadets close by for those with an adventurous side
J.
Beautiful park. Lots of things to see and do. Great for family.
J. S.
Had a nice walk around the lower reservoir the path was over grown with bushes and weeds and has not been maintained. The rest of the park was lovely and the children's play park was good
K. “. L.
Nice park, good to stroll around.
P. G.
Nice little park, can easy spend an hour here catching Pokémon and eating ice cream. The reservoir is beautiful, the birds are nice to watch. Hungry? There's a McDonald's right next to it.

A. L.
Lovely park not far from my friends to go and have a nice walk with the kids. Great as entrance is next to McDonald's if you would like a snack.
H. P.
Wonderful place to get out and go for a stroll.
A fantastic Dog walking experience around the lakes. There's no dog bins, so expect to carry it for a while.
There's a play area for the Children and an Icecream Van. Plenty of places to sit, relax and enjoy the views.
A fantastic place to visit during lockdown.
L. H.
Nice large park. Something for everyone. Play area for children, paths to ride or walk, basketball ball area and bike ramps. Also there is a large lake accessible. Ice cream van usually there in the spring, summer and autumn. Mc Donald's around the corner and easily reached by bus.
S. A.
Beautiful kids park and for families
S. T.
Great place for children. Lovely park. New cafe open set in Nice surroundings. Benches and tables and bike rack.
M. R.
Really great park, enjoyed it
B. M.
Took the kids here today after school they loved it, the kids play area has plenty to keep them occupied, an the public toilets was finally open to the public but myself personally I wouldn't use them unless I really have to
C. L.
Great Park, lots of bins around which is important. Plenty of routes you can take and great for doggies
Y. W.
Pleasant park, lots of open space for kids with shaded lawns to relax.
q. t.
I walk here every day and it has been my saving grace over lockdown. Bit littered in places but my dog loves it and it's a nice spot of green in an urban area.
B. S.
Great park nice walking and excellent playground for kids of all ages!
A. W.
Park and Gardens have improved somewhat over the last few years, you can see there has been some investment and lots less litter and scrotes bowling around in black bubble coats in 24 degree heat.
A. H.
Very enjoyable especially hero's wood
M. H.
Excellent park for dog walks
P. B.
It's beautiful if it snows, during spring + summer and during fall😍. But just the things I like about it is that it's a calm and soothing place you can go to, to clear your head, walk with someone special😉, bring your kids to the park, hwve a picnic or just go there and see the view. The park is amazing and honestly, I can't wait to go back there again because the memories I have there is just amazing and fun😁. Like when I was in high school, Wright Robinson, during this term me and my friends and a couple of others volunteered to help the head teacher and a planting company to plant trees and it came out successful with a bit of dirt here and there and falls😂😂, but as I said that's just one of the memories you can make there. So why don't u go and have a look there during a beau weather in spring or summer, because you will not regret it😁
S. H.
Decent enough play ground for the kids.
Nice walk round
You can enjoy a good couple of hours here
C. H.
I grew up in this area and debdale park for me has always been a beautiful place. Big golf course at the back, two big lakes one which is home to an angling club who have invested alot of money to make it better, plenty of space for dog walking and long walks, mcdonalds across the road, play park for the kids and a popular nursery for littlens with amazing and freindly staff. Also home to a donkey sanctuary.
K. M.
Me and my daughter enjoy our walks. Shame about pitch and putt. Again if not getting used??? Good green area on our doorstep
S. H.
Went at 10am to walk the dog a few dog walkers in the park but it wasnt crowded at that time on Good Friday. Got a place in the car park which is only small it is opposite McDonalds. When we left at 11.30 more people had come to the park.
A. h.
Great place to take the kids and dog to run off lots of steam. Nice reservoir to walk around but the path is narrow may not be suitable for buggies wheelchairs and can get a bit overgrown
h. a.
Beautiful large park - mostly come here to see the reservoirs in sunset. I saw that people can actually windsurf ✌
A. B.
Nice walk. Pity there's no circular walk.
M. W. B.
This is a very large nice well looked after park the only problem for me is the area that it is in I know there's nothing anyone can do about that but i wouldn't want to walk around there on my own. It's close to the bus stop and there's a macdonalds close by. There's a large lake and it's great for dog walking. It's definitely one of the better parks in the area and is lovely in the summer
m. i.
Not much parking space. The lake is surrounded by trees mostly but very big green field as well as loads shades too. Fresh roses trees been planted... not a bad trip anyway.
S. J.
The kids play area is even better for them now
B. W.
Great walking round the reservoirs.
D. E. V. D.
Beautiful lake to relax.
N. M.
Great park, it's huge and has lots to explore. There is some really amazing wildlife in there.
P. M.
Really nice park with great fun slides and play for the kids
G. R.
Beautiful location. Never knew it had the Nature Centre can't wait to take the kids.
A. F.
Lovely park in summer and winter, take the dog a walk there often as we live nearby. Plenty of paths to walk even though it's not massive, and one which goes to part of the reservoir so the dog can go swimming which is great on nice days in summer. If you have kids the park for them is amazing...it was redone a few years ago and there is always kids in it. The only downside is the parking...there isn't a lot which isn't normally a problem but when it's really nice and there's a fair on it fills up very quick. Other than that it's my favourite park and has bee ever since I was little.
k.
Joined the bowling club to help pass time plus it's also a nice walk with my dog. Unfortunately the eatery shut down and definitely needs a place to chill with a open fire in winter months.
A. “. x. N.
Shame this park used to be beautifully maintained with flowers animals a golf course. Shame the council no longer feels it's important to invest in our leisure parks & facilities. Still a nice park great for kids clean play area. Brilliant for a brisk walk or jog & dog friendly with plenty of dog bins.
D.
Nice park with a big playground which is good for my little one. It's always busy and there is a little ice creme van that parks up
J. C.
Great Park for throwing a ball for the dog but the path around the reservoir was incredibly muddy. I know it's the time of year but a more substantial path wouldn't go a miss
K. B.
We went for my grandson it's his 1st birthday. Perfect for social distancing. Had a great party for the children. Once party was over we cleansed up and went home . Iff you are going to buy an ice cream take your card it is no cash. One thing for the council please groom the park its looking a little scruffy.
D. T.
Carnival advertised was the overstatement of the century 4 rides for under 6s
.. But otherwise the park itself is huge and what is expected 😁👌 worth a visit
B.
Great place to go walking with the kids . Lots to see and do . Has a lovely cafe .
D. O.
Good for a stroll, a jog or just a day in the park with family. Nice lake as well, which gives it a more nature feel.
s. C.
Relaxing wonderfull scenery nice cafe recently opened behind the old house
Worth a visit
L. L.
Well maintained, lots of paths, public toilets, loads of places to sit or lie. And if you're lucky there's usually an ice cream van!
V. K.
Great and loads of where is space to walk around there was a play area for the kids and we even got to enjoy a lot of time playing tennis. The litter bins were overflowing and there wasn't any food trucks but there was a McDonald's nearby.
D. G.
A well planned open space allowing a number of activities to happen here including tennis, jogging, basket ball, table tennis and skate boarding. Leaves you happy, healthy and with a sense of belonging
D. H.
Beautiful green area
K. M.
Play area needs some attention and the car park is pretty small but it's nice for a walk around especially if u have a dog. The reservoir is good for your dog to cool down in the summer and a great place for the kids to feed the ducks.
K. “. F.
Lovely big park with a children's play area, big lake and wide open green spaces. Great for having a stroll around or out with the dogs! I still haven't seen all of it, so there might be things in there I've yet to discover!!!
S. D.
Lovely park. You can walk around the reservoir or around the park. Nice clean children's park. There is a carpark
P. P.
People seem to think it's a rubbish bin when the sun's out but it is a good park.
V. M.
The new refurbished play ground is excellent for the kids they love it. There are also lots of areas for them to explore and the reservoir is very picturesque, the whole park is lovely given the location you wouldn't expect it! It gets a little scruffy during times when the fairground is on we just avoid
M. T.
This is a great park and always has plenty of space in the carpark. Lovely walks, open fields and a nice playground area for the kids. My kids especially like the little skateboard area with ramps.
J. F.
Really nice well kept park area. Lovely place with lots of open spaces as well
K. x.
Lovely open space & park, lots of fun for kids love the orchid & flower gardens. You can feed the ducks see lots of squirrels & nature. The park is well maintained & the kids love it. Lovely clean park & picnic area. We spend most sunny days there in the summer holidays.
N. M.
Nice place and children's play area..toilets need a revamp or at least real good clean.
J. W.
The park is very enjoyable and well kept. I extended my visit by walking along the cycle path passed the school (Wright Robinson) and through the estate then taking the footpath, to the right of Fairfield Station, which goes between the two sites of Fairfield Golf Course. At the tee junction turn right along Kings Road and return to Debdale Park. About 3 miles.
C. E.
This is very well-equipped park set within a large urban area, the grounds are gigantic and it features a large play area for small children as well as tennis courts, a football pitch and bowling green. Also has a reservoir for boating that is perfect for walking around.
D. W.
Free parking and lots of space. There is an outdoor play area, tennis courts and large field.
It's right next to a Macdonalds so great to take the kids on a nice day.
G. H.
Nice park, good for dog walking but needs more places to park
M. I.
Wonderful place to relax. We had our lunch there on the grass like a picnic. Nice place.
M. A.
The park is very nice. The map to the park (google map) does not show the parking area. It took me stright into the Park. I was in a lot of trouble
J. B.
Lots of lovely walks for me and my boy's (grandsons and dog)
S. T.
Big grass area, with children's park, bowling greens, tennis courts, reservoirs. Also there is a small orchard and herb garden
P. A.
Two large lakes, boating and fishing areas, lots of play areas for children, trees and shrubs of every variety. The scenery is stunning and relaxing
a. b.
Great for kids and walking the dog
J. H.
Lovely walk and wildlife
P. C.
Great open space, nice friendly park. Lovely walk around the reservoir
P. S.
A lovely place to walk the dog or just walk. I did a bike ride round the park.
A. R.
always walk my dog there at weekends , she loves all the different smells in the park 😍
M. W.
I love this park is just the right size and have few different parts. So eveyone can find a space for them self
T. B.
Lovely park. Beautiful spacious setting and varied equipment in the playground.
J. M.
First visit and I was very impressed to see what it had to offer all ages .... plenty of space for events ... could do with a little more seating ...but it is a great inner city green haven.
D. R.
Great afternoon. Took both dogs and had big open areas to run free. Lovely park and mostly level so great for disabled. Everyone was friendly and convenient parking.
T. s.
It's a beautiful park. I want to give it a higher rating but the amount of rubbish that's laying around really lets it down :( it's a great walk with your dog's or if you just want to get out and about for a walk.
C. H.
Grew up visiting Debdale seen the changes over the years. Still a lovely park to visit. Plenty of places to see in one place the reservoirs, kids play area, little hidden places for Children to explore.
B. M.
A great open space in an urban environment. There is a small, well located car park, which is just opposite McDonald's Restaurant.
M. A.
Lovely park 😊❤
A. S.
An excellent suburban park., ideal for all ages and dogs. Large, well cared for open spaces and gardens. Childs park and bowling for older visitrors.
There is also an occasional travelling Fun Fair on site. Some great walks that can also take in the adjacent reservors, Donkey Sanctuary, Abbey Hey allotments, Kings Road to Audenshaw, cycleway built on old railway line. Parking close to McDonalds. Recommended!
S.
I captured the most beautiful sunset of the year there
G. O.
Is a very nice place to relax 😌 👌
Is a beautiful place to spend time with your family and friends
S. S.
My favourite park.I've been going there since long time. Love the lake side too.
D. R.
Nice place to have a walk with lots of friendly people to talk too, also lots of areas to play games and a park for the young ones to play, there was an ice cream van for refreshments, the only downside shame that the litter bins was overflowing.
P. P.
It's a lovely park but needs some TLC
Y. H.
Sat nav took us around the back way. Ended up bumping and rocking down the back lane to get there. Not great for parking. Play area locked while being refurbished. Reservoir a lovely place to sit and relax.
S.
A very good and wide play area. Best for walk. Great environment
N. M.
Lot off adventures here good back when I was younger with the animals just ashame the local residents drunk sit in the park drinking
M. S.
Nice place to walk and visit occasionally
Not really a place to relax or meditate
Too busy and rowdy at times
A shame
J. H.
It's a lovely park for a walk with the dogs, they have now officially turned the back reservoir into a fishing pond and the idiots that it brings flying at you on the shared footpath/road at about 40mph when you've got kids and dogs is unnecessary, was miles better place before someone's greed to make more money became a factor on here.
T. J.
Debdale park in Gorton Manchester lies just of the main Hyde Road. Pleasant walks along paths and woodland any time of year so you see the changing seasons. The best part is the lake. For easy access to this go to the small carpark opposite Macdonnalds and from the entrance, turn left down a short dirt track (not accessible by car) and within minutes you're looking over a stunning lake, which if you have a couple of hours to spare you can walk around. Take heed of the no swimming signs as this lake is deep and can be dangerous but the views from its banks can be stunning.
J. K.
Well kept park and gardens. Play area for kids was good and very clean. Now, if they could just ensure the sun shines when we go!
T.
The new refurbished park is brilliant kids love it. Toilets there as well and playing court. A small walk McDonald's near and the boating lake a lovely place to visit.
P. L.
Love this park been going for years as a kid playing and now as an adult fishing . Lovely place to just enjoy the sun or having picnics and fun with the children
A. S.
Love this place, a peaceful oasis so close to the busy town
J. O.
The park has a special place in my heart. My mam, God rest her soul, took me for walks around the park when i was a baby. It's a lovely place.
R. S.
Great Park for running or walking. There is a playground and a lake. Lovely park
A. A.
Nice park
M. S.
Great park, has a bit of everything. Tennis court, skate park, playground and a reservoir 👍🏾
A. A.
Is nice and big park to go to with kids or even on ur own.
A. M.
Parking is limited which meant we left the car on a street nearby. Lovely walk though and wheelchair friendly.
S. H.
Gorton normally gets a rough ride but I must say the reservoirs and yacht club are really picturesque.
If you've never visited don't make assumptions in the summer the place is vibrant and full of life and in the winter months all though a little quieter it is still worthy of a visit.
A. S.
Great for kids and adults alike playground lots of walking or sit and watch the world go by.
P. D.
