I've walked on these Fields since the early 1990s when I moved to Chorlton. I used to take my children to play there. Wild places are so much more exciting for children. It's rare to find a place in a city suburb where we can see how beautiful a place can be when things are left to Mother Nature.

Trees in leaf and bud. A couple of dry weeks have allowed the ground to dry out at last and the damage caused by the contractor's heavy vehicles and excavations has healed thanks to the local vegetation returning. Wonderful place for birdwatching.

A beautiful and diverse green space that is an asset to the community of people and wildlife that benefit from it. A lovely place to go for a stroll or a picnic any time of day. Chorlton's hidden gem ❤

One of the few places in the middle of the city where you can go and completely forget that you are in the middle of the city, and feel close to nature instead. For those of us who struggle to get out to rural areas, this is the place to visit and let the kids experience all the wildlife that this wonderful "oasis" has.

Not huge but a lovely open space kept au natural, sometimes overgrown but always beautiful. Walking routes around the space and through the middle. More a nature reserve than a park.

Beautiful little spot so far untouched by developers. I hear someone’s trying to change that and build on the fields. What an absolute loss that would be! There’s a campaign on the go to try and stop it from happening and I hope they do well.

Beautiful bit of green space. Great for picnics and exercise. MMU are currently trying to bulldoze it apparently. Hope they get stopped from doing so!
