Reviews of Brandling Park
P. D.
Before the construction of the city centre by-pass, Brandling Park, now just a leafy suburb with attractive Victorian/Edwardian housing and gardens, was a proper park with a large paddling pool which attracted many people with young children, including myself. The by-pass cut right through this sweet little arcadia, much elegant housing, the pride of Newcastle's approach from the north, being destroyed with it. The motor car has a lot to answer for, and, as the demise of private motorised transport becomes more likely, future generations will be entitled to ask why on earth was Newcastle mutilated in this way and what was the point of it all?
"Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got. Till its gone.....".
(Joni Mitchell).
Brandling Village has been designated a conservation area by Newcastle City Council, rather late in the day one might think.

Lovely place to chill, nice and clean, plenty of things to do

Peaceful. Ex bowling green. Nice and quiet for kids to play.

Great for a family day out or a large meet up. Brandling Park has a playground for children and a large open space for picnics or football. The courts allow for basketball and tennis without people walking through your game.

Lovely place to stroll around 1 mile from the city centre .The winter leaves could be tidied up c'est la vie.

Nice Park
clean and nice to sit and have a picnic
t. 3.
A small, well manicured park connected to the much greater spaces of Exhibition Park and Town Moor through an underpass.

Nothing in this park at all apart from a bowling green which isn't used and a few nicely spaced benches, it is more of a pass through so it is very quiet lovely to sit there on a nice day. One picnic bench is available but to be honest this park is directly attached to exhibition park by going through the underpass so really if you're looking for somewhere for the kids this is the wrong place.
E. C.
Just a little park compared to the much larger Exhibition Park through the underpass. But nice to spend a little time in, with some benches and a picnic table to use.
For Pokémon Go players - it is a nest that's different from the one in Exhibition Park and has an EX Raid gym. So worth popping into.
Cyclists coming from Exhibition Park go through fast on shared paths, so watch out for them.

A lovely little park: there are no facilities but the shops / cafes on Clayton Road are a stone's throw away.
