Reviews of Eldon Square Multi-Storey

Good place to park. The top car park has brilliant views
P. G.
Easy to park in and direct access to eldon Square from level 1.
The lift has been out of order for 6 months. It makes it very difficult for people with pushchairs and wheelchairs to make their way down. People have to use the roadway to get up and down..... Not very safe.!
R. B.
Easy to get to
The parking on the roof at the top is best. Lifts to John Lewis. I don't think the lifts on the ramps are working
M.
Great centre of town car park, good price as it’s council ran, only complaint is that the centre path on the twirly bit has countless curbs so walking down with an pram or wheelchair is difficult when the lift is out of order.
Easy check in/out system though, I always use Apple Pay and it’s so fast.
B. P.
Free after 5. Park on the roof lift takes you directly into John Lewis. And you get a view
B. B.
Decent price for the centre of town. Usually spaces. Can be a bit tight. Have to go up a few floors before finding usable spaces - the lower floors tend to be full of permit holder, disabled and electric car spaces. Having said that, if you have an electric car, there are plenty of charge spaces!
Joins on to Eldon Gardens so you can walk straight in and around Eldon Square without getting wet if it's raining 👍
R. S.
As car parks go, who doesn't love a great long spiral of a thing with parking spaces all the way up? Great architectural design.
It's almost unheard of to be unable to find a space and its proximity to John Lewis and Eldon Square is a win-win.

Different varieties of products and services. Closing time is very ok for people who closed late from work to still get to the location
N. M.
Great place to park and the prices are good my only gripe is that if you pay on a card they debit your card with a days charge and when you check out it credits your account I’m still waiting for it to go back into my account I think it’s unfair if you are on a limited income
Z. S.
Great location for parking if you are OK with driving through the ciry centre. Quite reasonably priced too for location.
W. H.
Old fashion car park and the car spaces are small for todays vehicles.
B. M.
Eldon Square Multi Storey is conveniently close to the shopping center of Newcastle and all it's amenities allowing for shopping to take place without too many of the usual problems associated with that activity.
J. B.
Good shopping centre. Good shops. Fair prices if u haven't been try it
S. W.
Very expensive during the week if you want to go shopping. Weekends you can buy an all day ticket. Always parking spaces on the roof and a lot easier and safer to get out of your parking bay.
L. U.
Can be a little difficult to get to with the one way systems in Newcastle and the spiral nature can make it a little tricky to maneuver into and out of spaces. When it's busy visibility can be an issue.
However it is very well lit with plenty of space. Plus part of Alive After 5 scheme so free parking on evenings. Great for access to all of the City Centre.
a. C.
I only give it a 3 because there's not to meny spots and the pay machine could not be more completed if they tryed
D.
It's a car park, you can get dizzy on the way up and the way down. Some good views.
R. K.
It's £2 per hour cheaper to buy day tickets. When buying using a card you need to be careful, I was charged day while I stayed less than an hour. It's a bit confusing to use a card. Other carpark are 50 or more cheaper than these one. Just check the nearest one if you are not staying long.
R. B.
Actually I used the bus station. Good terminus.

I have never been to Newcastle before & from Orkney it’s a huge change. I was panicking so much & just wanted to go treat myself. The gentleman in the parking could see I was getting anxious & I had no idea what to do. He came over & asked if I needed help, I explained & he was absolutely brilliant with me. Gave me directions to Waitrose, even spotting my blue badge & to add to my visit the parking was free. On my return he recognised me, asked if I’d managed & explained just to drive straight out. Thank You so much it was very kind & brilliant service.
P.
It is expensive but if staying in Town for more than 5 hours, its worth parking on floor 10 or above.
J. C.
I never struggle to get a space and it’s part of the park after 5pm scheme. Convenient for Eldon Square. Spaces are a bit tight and it can be hard getting out if it is a bit busy. But I left my car there overnight to pick up the next day without problem which was very convenient.
J. M.
It's a car park! Expensive but convenient for Eldon Square. Contact less payment is convenient.
P. D.
I had to go the Centre for Life today for my vaccination. For the last 20 years I have used the Metro to reach the City so my experience of driving in the City centre is historic. My knowledge of the one way system is almost non-existant. As usual I went to Callerton Parkway to catch the 10.16am train for Central Station which is the nearest station to the Centre for Life and my most important appointment for 11am.
To my consternation I found that the parking fee had increased from £1 to £1.20. No big deal you might think but I did not have a 20p piece, nor any smaller denominations. My tender of 50p was rejected so I resolved to head into town in the car and pray I would find a parking place and would not be too late.
Needless to say, all available space at Claremont Road was taken, although there were many reserved places for Gold Card holders standing empty. Becoming increasingly concerned, I headed along Queen Victoria Road for the Strawberry Place car park which I found to be fenced off. I could park, however, in the adjacent street which had a limit of one hour only. I had no idea if this would be enough. However, the meter demanded £1.30. I tendered£1.50. The 50p piece was rejected. Two kindly workers donated 30p to hopefully resolve the issue, only for this offering to be rejected too! In a state of desperation and the sum of £2.00 poorer and 11am rapidly approaching, I left my car without a comforting piece of paper on the dashboard and hurried off to the Centre, which premises I reached with a minute to spare. The people at the Vaccination Centre were brilliant and their calm efficiency helped to smooth my ruffled feathers.
To my relief my car had not attracted a parking ticket; however, I needed to buy essential food, namely fish, from the Grainger Market.
I turned left down Gallowgate, left again for Percy Street and left again for Eldon Garden multi story car park, surprised not to have met a one way system and pleased not to turn right and plunge myself into the Eldon Square parking complex.
After all the anxiety, Eldon Garden was a heaven of peace and tranquillity which I embraced with the utmost thankfulness! The payment instructions were easy to follow, I used my card to check in, and later, having made my purchases, checked out again and paid £1.07p. A small price to pay. I wish I had considered this option at the outset.
I'm 78 next month and don't welcome a lot of excitement.
Hopefully, my supply of fish will last until this lockdown is over!
PS The 5 stars are given to the Eldon Garden multi story car park out of gratitude.
K. V.
The car parking meters are now in fewer locations so there is often a queue for a ticket. Less customer friendly than before.
C. L.
Plenty of spaces, does get you dizzy driving up the floors. Download the app to pay for your parking its much easier
A. S.
A goog and big car park. But unfortunately the lift was out of ordet.
E. M.
Almost always you will find a spot to park there. You can pay by phone. Good car parking place.
B. D.
Actually it was eldon gardens car park
M. J.
i parked and paid easily
C. F.
A good location for central Newcastle shopping. Like most multi storey car parks, a little expensive
M.
Great place if you want to park a car.
I don't have a car.
Great place.
m. p.
What's can say it's a place you park your car
D. L.
A bit expensive as our fantastic city council has started to charge us Blue Badge holders £1-86p per hour!!?? 🤑🤑
A. A.
Directional signs are available to find you way in the square.
J. C.
I mean it is a spiral car park. Head to the roof and across the bridge for better parking.
T. C.
Good priced parking for the centre of Newcastle, how ever access is difficult in most modern cars as very very tight entry and exit. Great fun going up and down tho, the kids absolutely love it.
s. p.
Was a good.lift was not working.
d. h.
Useful city centre car park with easy access into Eldon Square shopping centre.
Downside is awkward entry and exit from and back onto Percy Street.
J. K. D.
Tooo big. And efficient one. A very spacious car park
H. T.
Nice flat rate for sunday parking but go early as places can be taken up pretty quickly!
S. W.
Typical carpark within Newcastle depends on day or time as to weather there is spaces available for you good thing is it's right next door to Intu Eldon square shopping centre reasonably priced and you can park here for free after 5pm
K. T.
It's a car park, with a lift that is often out of order. Not much more to add.
P. B.
The best parking in town, into the heart of Eldon square always park on the top roof and make trips to the car to top up the bags in the boot! Great view of St James from this roof top vantage as well
S. A.
I visited this car park on a weekday to advantage of the free car parking after 5pm. It is connected to Eldon Square at John Lewis. If paying for parking it is quite expensive. Their is lift if you have pushchairs/wheel chairs.
L. M.
Easy parking and easy access to shops
M. M.
Sign newd making clear about disabled parking
A. P. J.
Lots of spaces to park
R. L.
I do not use the car park as it is not near the shops that I go into, I believe you have to pay even if you have a blue badge.
S. L.
Handy car park for city centre shopping. For a family visit it is cheaper to park for a full day that it is to use public transport.
M. C. S.
Good spiral car park with a lot of space. Best of all it's free after 5 p.m. Only negative would be it is not a 24 hour car park
A. I.
Like the rooftop parking with easy access to Eldon Square. Don't like people who can't reverse, trying to reverse park in the round car park on the way up to the roof. Seems dangerous to me.
I. S.
Right in the Hart of the city free after 5 but a pain to actually get in to with the one way
R. S.
Loads of space now and for a quick click and collect it was only 33p to park for a short while.
G. E. (.
Perfect location & seems to be safe place to leave your without having to worry it may be broken into etc.

It's a car park in a 'helter-skelter' spiral formation until you get to the top, then it becomes a rooftop car park.
