Reviews of Leazes Park
b.
Lovely park located a short walk from Newcastle city centre; next door to the Royal Victoria Infirmary (Hospital) and St James's Park.
Good size area with plenty of places to walk. A boating pond with plenty of birds, ducks and swans to feed. Little cafe and public toilets near the pond. Bandstand and kids play area near the back of the park.
All in all, a nice park to take the family or a perfect place to take a stroll.
J. R.
Lovely park, loads of space for people.
Came here this morning to do parkrun with my friends.
Great for place to bring kids, walking, cycling, running and sitting by the lake that is there.
There a basketball court there, swans and geese as well
I would recommend coming here for a walk round the park which I next to st James park football stadium.
D. G.
Great park, amazing views. Lovely Tower Cafe rely care about the environment around the park encouraging litter picks in exchange for a free hot drink!
Disabled/ accessible toilet been out of action for months. As a support worker who brings service users to the park rather a major inconvenience as some of my service users are wheelchair users. This is a city council issue. Newcastle City Council hope you're taking note!?
d. l. J.
Peaceful walk with the bonus of seeing some geese.
J. H.
Nice Park to stroll through. Public toilets are available, clean and well maintained. There's areas built for playing sports and plenty of wildlife to view. Sad to see trees being cut down and the derelict house is an eye sore (should be demolished) would make a nice area for trees to be planted. There's a lot of drug use in the park and it's so visible on a daily basis. Nice Park yet again people spoil it!
P. R.
Lovely park. Always full of the wonderful, friendly people of Newcastle. Tower Cafe is also a great part of the park. Always leave feeling better than when you arrive.
N. H.
Decided to visit this park after couple of years, used to spent there everyday when kids were little. It was huge disappointment visiting it again, older kids play park is cordoned off as it’s unsafe to play, little ones playground needs refurbish plus half is cordoned off to. It was a huge disappointment for kids that wanted to play there after a while, shame that park that’s based in city centre is not maintained…
A. A.
The park is beautiful, has plenty of animals in the water, ducks, geese, pigeons, rats out of the water 😳, either beautiful, pleasant environment for family, or alone, I recommend, right in the center of Newcastle ... visit
N. E. S.
It is a well maintained place for you to spend some time outdoors. The lake and the ducks are the main attraction point of this park. There is a tower cafe just next to the lake for you to have a cuppa to stay warm.
G. H.
The park is always a great scene for a walk, run and socially distanced catch-up! The cafe is quite convenient as well for drinks and snacks.

This park is an amazing place for friends, family, bird watcher and everyone else to hang out and chill. There is a big pond in the center of the park which beautiful ducks and swans and many other birds! It has many benches where u can list to songs and enjoy the weather and the park and be blissful! Also people can sit besides the tree's shade and read books and have a small picnic with friends and family! It total it is just perfect ❤❤❤❤
W.
Really nice park with a lot of ducks on the pond. We even saw a green parrot!
H. M.
Perfect for a great walk!! The birds surrounding the water and in them are cute!! Calm area!
R. B.
A lovely city centre park, home to my favourite park run. Overlooked by St James Park.
L.
Perfect size park for a walk or run. Perfect for a smoke with your friends; perfect as it has a small lake.
I. H.
Real gem in Newcastle city center and very peaceful. Great for the kids.
R. G.
Lovely park. Big and quite clean. Calm and lots of places to rest and even do fishing. Overall a good place to relax and spend a day
P. L.
Fantastic park very close to the centre of Newcastle. A great space to relax.
D. E.
Always a lovely park for a walk, grab a snack or buy seed for the geese and swans
D. K.
Beautiful park, but strewn with broken glass, which is very dangerous especially for children. Also the children's play equipment is often in disrepair, and there are sometimes gangs of young men ambushing, beating and mugging other young people at night.
C. O.
Lovely walk, nice coffee at the little cafe and feeding the ducks and pigeons.
P. R.
Wow this is a little gem given it's location. Just spent time in the RVI hospital and having this park across the road was fantastic to escape to for an hour every day
H. G.
An accessible, well maintained and park within walking distance of the town centre. The plentiful open space and the well distributed but not overwhelming foliage makes for a pleasant aesthetic experience. Tennis courts and rowing on the lake offer some variety of activity. All in all a good day out for the family.
M. S.
Well-maintained and perfect park for a walk or run. Near to the newcastle city centre.
c. h.

R. l.
Lovely place to clear your mind If you are struggling
k. I.
Not very well looked after, kids park needs a renovation. Didn't get to try the cafe so can't comment there. I'd say saltwell park is better.
Positive, I like the idea of litter picking then you get a hot drink. Great encouragement 😊
M. S.
First time visiting and it was lovely especially sitting by the lake
M. D. (.
I like this park, it's close to my apartment. I come here to meet my friends!
A. R.
A great area to see the ducks and swans, great to take the kids. A nice little cafe near the lake. The playground is good but needs a little work.
S. M.
Fond memories of this park with family .
Still holds character & charm ,just needs some investment in areas..
Hopefully the Saudi Arabia contingent will see the possibility of resurrecting .sadly the cash starved council try their best too !!! 🙂

C. D.
By far my favourite park that I've been to in the northeast. Plenty of open grassy space, a nice lake to sit around with plenty of ducks and geese. Also it's a pleasant walk around the outside through the trees. It has a certain calming nature about it, which is often missing in the more popular Saltwell Park.
A. M.
Great little park close to Newcastle City centre. Lake with lots of bird life. Kids play park. Basketball & tennis courts. Good cafe. Picnic tables & benches. Lovely place for a stroll.

It's a nice place to have a picnic and feed the duck.
Walking distance from Newcastle town centre
M.
Fantastic to see a public park well used by everyone, shame some can't be bothered to clean up after themselves, says more about them I suppose. Grab a bin bag from the cafe, fill it with the rubbish and get a free coffee!
B. C.
Great Park for picnic and a bbq

(Translated) Lovely park to relax for a while. Enough benches to sit or relax on one of the grassy fields. Bring your own food and drink, because there is nothing for sale in the park itself.
(Original)
Heerlijk park om lekker even tot rust te komen. Genoeg bankjes om even te zitten of anders lekker op 1 van de gras velden. Neem wel zelf wat eten en drinken mee, want in het park zelf is niks te koop.
