Car park is really busy at the moment, one in one out sort of system, we have a blue badge so we're able to nip to the front. If your dropping off you get stuck in the traffic getting in too so give yourself extra time. It is the easiest car to use whence it being busy. Fruit and veg store has loads on at the moment too there!

I needed to visit the emergency eye clinic whilst visiting the North East and found the whole experience very positive. The only criticism I could make was the slight lack of waiting patients updated but the device was very good. The parking was a little fraught as drivers were queuing but I managed to find a Blue Badge space. Just before leaving we had to register the car's reg number with the main thing reception desk which allows free parking. As it was our first visit we were unaware until another Blue Badge holder explained what to do. Anyone visiting and parking in the disabled bays should take their badge to the reception to register their vehicle so that the barriers will recognise the vehicle reg number.

Great safe car park very easily accessible for the hospital. Also used frequently for Newcastle United home games at the walking distance St James Park football ground. Not happening currently due to pandemic of course so no match day or evening parking at the moment. (December 2020(

Bit of a queue to get into car park , was nearly late for my appointment, best to allow a bit extra time when visiting the hospital

Car parking is becoming a problem as council have removed parking outside hospital on road. Visited and found large queue to get into multi storey, fortunately got into car park further along where old RVI buildings were demolished. Think it is only going to get worse in the future.

Had an MRI today in radiology department, my radiologist was called Cersa (I apologise if that's spelt wrong) what a lovely guy, kept me updated all the way through. Barely felt my injection. Couldn't of been nicer and more upbeat. Thank you :)

Only reason I'm knocking it down is due to the work going on. This makes it hard to manouver the wheelchair through meaning we have to sometimes squeeze through the queue for the vegetable stall outside. Not good in a pandemic. But can't fault staff in the hospital always helpful.

My experience at this hospital was very good and the doctors explain thing to you and are very helpful..only one thing was a&e and xray receptionist when booking people in need more training in dealing with service users they need customer service skill because they not very welcoming which is not good for the hospital in whole as they represent RVI. But otherwise I would recommend it this hospital.

The most important thing is a car garage with an hourly service that you can park inside the hospital.
