Nice Park good to walk around

This is a beautiful park that I do love. It is very well maintained and litter is picked there daily, leaving the park green and wonderful. I would love to rate it higher than I have. But, the sickly sweet stench of cannabis is very overpowering. I can't remember the last time I walked here without smelling it. It's very sad to see drugs being openly dealt and smoked in and around the park too. And a little intimidating to be honest.

Well maintained, beware of open water though with children, as there are streams, canal. Park areas for small children and large climbing frames for older children. Lots of natural wildlife in the shape of squirrels, ducks, swans, robins, small birds. Might even see a crayfish! Its more of a park for the residents that live around it whereas Abington Park is made for visiting.

Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain are moving across the landscapes, over the prairies and the deep trees, the mountains and the rivers. Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air, are heading home again. Whoever you are, no matter how lonely, the world offers itself to your imagination, calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting – over and over announcing your place in the family of things.

Victoria Park runs along the railway line and a canal. It has quite decent play areas, including a football field, a basketball field and a couple of children's play areas with soft surfaces. Apart from a couple of stone artefacts mostly flat grass surfaces with paths. OK but thats about all.
