Reviews of Lace Market Car Park - Nottingham City Council
Y. L.
Right in the heart of Nottingham. Just a few mins walk to high street.
Not suitable for big car as tight space. Price is acceptable because it’s really convenient.
N. K.
They have a good deal for evening parking but classic narrow spaces which make it a pain to park and not the best for low cars
V. D.
Quite close to city center but exiting the car park while evading tight corners without scratches is a bit tricky. Sigh of relief when you completely come out of the building. Payments are seamless with cards.
v.
It's handy if you want to park in the city centre, However be careful its very tight in there.
A. H.
Good location for city centre. A bit tight for large cars. Prices for short stays high but gets better over 4 hours. Clean and tidy.
C. R.
Deducted a star because it's a little expensive, but very secure and clean. Plus the lifts always work!
B. H.
Cheaper car park if your visiting the arena. Park here, walk out the driving in entrance side and turn left, walk through the expensive car park to the arena!
M. S.
Easy to use, cheaper than ncp if going to motorpoint arena, only £8 after 5pm through to 2am, 500 spaces, got cameras and was clean, what more do you need from a car park
T. B. B. M.
Ok as far as car-parks go. Wasn't too expensive easy access to the centre of Nottingham.
M. L.
Pricey and cramped. Big cars will fit but be warned. We spend a few hours, 2-3 and it's £7.
On the other hand, it's very central and right next to the center and shops/food.
L. A.
Hold your nose walking up the stairs, definitely being used as urinals. Secure parking close to the bars.
C.
There’s plenty of cameras for peace of mind, easily accessible & clean! Parking machines have good instructions on how to use. £19 for a 24hr period not to shabby at all
R. T.
Another brilliant evening out in Nottingham visiting winter wonderland in the city outside Town Hall.
J. H.
Very tiny and tight car park. Slight struggle to get a golf around inside of it
T.
Reasonable prices, but very tight to manoeuvre around in.
P. U.
Nice to see some parent and child spaces. Useful if you have alot of children's buggys/carseats. Very close to shops. Good lighting. The contactless payment didn't seem to be working today. Spaces ok but not the most roomy space if you have a long/big car 🚘 Prices a little steep. Starways clean and no bad smells. Would recommend.
S. B.
It's a car park and great for parking a car. Good value as well' but it's a car park.
Don't go there if you are not parking a car.
No good if you are going there to buy a sofa, new dinner service, a tailored suit or if you are looking for a fine dining experience.
H. A.
Definitely a car park, authentic wee smell and all
W. D.
Well I suppose it’s a car park so how many stars do you give a car park? Actually, yes, I can think of a five star car park (Oxford Westgate) and the Lacemarket car Park definitely isn’t one. I reckon I am a pretty proficient driver in a not over large car – just average – but the turns to go up and down the levels are too tight I think. Certainly made me keep my wits about me. Still, when I came back to the car, it was still parked, and what more can you ask of a car park?
R. S.
It's a car park and you can park your car here so it does the job. The spaces appear to be a bit tight compared to others, I have a regular saloon car. ANPR system opens barrier when you leave so we didn't have to insert payment ticket to leave, this was handy. It's clean and tidy, well lit and has plenty of disabled parking. It's quite expensive. We stayed for just over 8 hours and it cost £14. This may be the going rate, but there are plenty off other options to consider.
A. W.
Nice car park very easy to use clean and good position. Perfect for the ice stadium pricing is reasonable in comparison to others. Easy to get this car park confused with the NCP on Stoney street which is not so good and very expensive.
T. W.
What with the new road layout approaching from Broadmarsh (as was), actually getting to the entrance requires a major detour from the previous route. You actually have to drive in the opposite direction! Also, the tricky tight entrance remains and can easily cause damage to your car even for the most careful of drivers. I suggest using the left hand barrier, which is a little more forgiving. Once in, the car park is well located for city centre shopping. As with all city centre car parks, it's a bit pricey in my opinion.
J. S.
Pricey relatively speaking, but secure and central to the Lace market. Easy payment system, loads of levels and spaces. Not so easy to find the entrance, quite tight and winding to drive around.
L. M. (.
Easy to park and very clean. Arrived for 1 night stay in a city under much construction decided to park there. Was tired in morning when leaving with family and was thrown by loss of parking ticket but great customer service and understanding from the team in particular Stefan meant we were on our way quickly. Thanks :)
R. F.
Great location for city centre access and not too expensive. Like most multistorey car parks, it is right getting around something to be mindful of with largest cars
C. K.
Tight turns in between floors but good location 👍
T. M.
Entrance could be marked better as it's almost a side road but the parking facilities and prices are competitive for the area. We'll lit and central. There was even an employee stationed by the pay machines as we left which was excellent to see.
T. K.
It's a carpark....spaces oké, but cars need to park in the middle of their space. Several payment stations where out of order. Can enter and exit from the side door. Areas clean and tidy.
L. B.
Location is great, but it's expensive.
I was confused at the barrier when no ticket was offered on entry so put in my payment card which opened the barrier. Then there were no instructions about how my payment would be made. The signs said to use tickets at payment machines but I didn't have one.
Turned out I needed to put the payment card in the machine at the barrier again on my way out and use my pin.
D. H.
Good car park. Great pricing compared to Stoney Street. Always park here in Notts.
A. S.
Not too expensive for right in the city centre short walk to everything
J.
Good location, and good entry system that works on anpr with an app. Beware though, the spaces are very small and not really designed for bigger cars.
P. W.
Good position for Motorpoint. Poss 5 min walk. I was a bit concerned about walking down dark streets at night.. However its lit up for the whole distance.
E. C.
I find parking in Nottingham a pain in the back.. This one is expensive but close to center. Good if cheaper options are taken. If you do not want to waste an hour (clock time) going around the city and risking a ticket for entering different surveyed car park to discover they are full thisay be it.
D. W.
Lots of spaces, well lit and clean. Prices are reasonable. Parking spots are tight, not much room to get in and out of a parked car
B. F.
Very central and a good enough charges for the amount of time we were there
T. K.
I travelled here from Manchester so my view will be based on experience there... And what I can tell I wish we can have something like this in Manchester cheap convenient absolutely perfect location for whatever reason 💯 4/5
a.
From reading all the reviews about this my expectations were low but it wasn't that bad. Considering there aren't that many car parks in the centre of Nottingham this offers ample parking, is open 24 hours and was reasonably priced. It's location makes it good for trips into the centre but also it's only a10 minute walk to the Motorpoint stadium. Parking spaces are just wide enough. All the lifts are out of order when we went so stairs are your only option at the moment!
D. A.
Well located, easy to find. Pay on exit. Can't really want more from a carpark... Could be cheaper. But felt reasonable.
A. f.
Good location to park, close to shops etc can be abit busy sometimes and prices are slightly high.
A. L.
Good central location, close to plenty of good shops, pubs, clubs and bars, and surrounded by plenty of great restaurants. The carpark itself is tight in anything other than a small hatchback but have seen Range Rovers and big estate cars parked here. Theres often plenty of spaces and parking charges are average. The main thing that lets it down is the lack of cleanliness and smell in the stairways.(Please click "like" if you find this review useful)
J. N.
Good place to park nice area 👍🏻
S. S.
If you like parking your car next to a homeless man in a sleeping bag, witnessing his drug deals, and surrounded by all of his worldly possessions then this is £12 a night well spent. I left my car here on three occasions due to a lack of other options in central Nottingham, and all three times made me feel very uneasy. It isn't clean here, the stairwells are used as makeshift urinals and you will certainly feel uneasy leaving the car park alone in the evening. You need your ticket to pay on exit in order to use the exit barrier, so providing you are certain that your car is locked and you left nothing inside it then at least your car is safe.
L. B.
Decent sized spaces for a city center car park. I could get my truck around and parked up no problem.
Easy to locate and operate. But very expensive.
L. A.
Top floors have recently been repainted and renovated.
Prices are quite high.
Automatic number plate recognition on the way out saves some time.
C. J.
Well located in Nottingham. Easy access to shops, restaurants, pubs etc. Tram stops outside for onward travel. Well lit. 1 lift out of order and stair well reasonable for a car park. Very reasonable parking charges. But not very keen that there is always someone begging at the pay machines. He wasn't aggressive but can be scary if you are female on your own.
L. K.
Its in a good place. I have a Nissan Qashqai and has no trouble with the parking or the size of the spaces and I am very much, a plus size woman.
C. M.
Fine carpark bit narrow but that is to be expected in a city centre car park, I will say that one problem is that as it is 24hrs the homeless population does like to take shelter there. I have never had an incident with anyone and I full sympathy towards their situation but at 11 at night as I have to get my wallet out it does make me uncomfortable. Hope fully the operators of Lace Market Car Park can get in contact with Nottingham City Council to provide them with the help they need.
E.
Plenty of car spaces but parking can but tight if you have a big vehicle, also it will be a struggle for large SUV and vans to fit due to low roof. Spaces for bicycles and motor bikes on 1st and 3rd fall
C. H.
An old car park, right in the centre of Nottingham. Prices are reasonable. No lifts if I remember correctly, just stairs. Not many paying machines. It's ok but a bit old and shabby. Still, it's a car park, it does what you want it to do, and it's well situated in town.
C. T.
Nice car park to park during the day bit expensive for 2 hours it's 4.40 and then over that up to 4 hours its 6.70. Get there early enough plenty of spaces.
D. C.
Quite a tight car park for those with larger vehicles but secure and well priced parking makes it worth while
e. D.
This is a very tight carpark that you have to drive in . It's very busy and you have to drive up loads of levels to get a space it took me until the 12th floor to find a space
R. W.
The location is amazing for the south or east part of the city. Particularly the hipster part - with the good cafe and restaurants and the nice bars. The parking spaces are very small and the turns are quite tight but if you pay attention you will be ok. Be aware that the signposts around the city to this carpark are poor and you exit in a slightly different place to where the entrance is. Worth it for the location but as a car park in general it is ok but not as good as the q park.
K. C.
Tight as hell!! I hate it when you feel like you will scratch your car going round the carpark. This is well placed on the street but once inside, some spots are ludicrous to park. Close by to the tram if u need to use it but not my first choice to park.
M. P.
Very good parking and very cheap as well
L. c.
It's a multi storey car park...lots of spaces for disabled. Collect a ticket on entry and pay at machine on way out. Not much to say other than it's not attached to any shopping centre you have to walk or take the lift to the ground floor. Cross the road towards the lace market great if your a fan of Cath kidston as it is a 5 minute walk. Not so good if your mobility is limited though.
S. C.
A bit tight for the bigger vehicle, but very well placed for all in and around the Lace Market
j. p.
We stayed at the lacemarket hotel and there was no sign on entering to advise on discount so we had to pay full price!
K. B.
A good central location to park close to the town centre and many good bars and places to eat. Can be very busy however as you can guess but a good tip is to go to the lower floors after entering as almost everyone just continues upwards and doesn't try the spaces near the exit.
L. S.
Nice little car park near to work . A bit tired looking next to the new up market broadmarsh but nevermind
A. O.
OK place to park your car but gosh the car park spaces are quite narrow (maybe compare to SE England). That can't be change now, or is it?
Z. Z.
Very tight ramps if you have a big car. Reasonable prices for city centre.
M. B.
Great car park with after 6 pm rates for gigs and sports events. Have used this now for 10 years and it's a little on the tight side and it can take a while to get out. But if you pre pay for your ticket it can be a blessing.
D. P.
Easy to access very popular so had to park at top on 12th level. Urine down stairs in pools so take the lift. Homeless guy sits there regularly which is no problem but if your not expecting him can jump.
N. T.
Sensible price, easy to get in and out of (try not to coincide with start/finish times for events at the arena), good Central location for most city centre shopping and food. Inexpensive overnight parking.
L. M.
Little tight as the woman driving the red people carrier into the place proved to her own dismay and expense. Not sure how she got wedged into the position I saw her in or why her wheels were pointing the wrong direction entirely to get out of the pickle she found herself in but I left her to her own fun and games as I was running late.
Meanwhile when I found a space large enough for my meagre ford fiesta I had to shuffle back and forth 5 times to be able to firstly let my passenger out of the car and then myself. A further 5 point turn was required to exit said parking space.
I can only assume that the person responsible for measuring the spaces used a Honda Goldwing motorcycle for reference of average vehicle width. These, contrary to popular belief are in fact ever so slightly narrower than the width of an average car with both doors opened just enough to allow anorexics to exit.
J. J.
Good facilities. Prices are expensive though I only visit Intu if a can't go elsewhere and the price of parking is a major factor. Councils need to stop driving customers out of the city with what can only be described as a cash cow. It's counter productive and they know it. Our high Streets are turning into wilderness's where all that's left are estate agents, bettng and charity shops. Polarising stores into shopping malls kills off the outskirts footfall and the result is Urban decay. The first antidote is to rid town centres of both council and private parking "profiteering".
That will attract more footfall and better profitability.
S. W.
Decent enough car park overall. 4 hours cost me £6.40 during the day but that's equivalent to others in the city.
Went to Watford with work last week and 4 hours cost me £4 there so it can be cheaper.
O. D.
No lace in sight… thoroughly disappointed. However it provided a narrow space for my car in the meantime
G. W.
If your a stranger to the area the roads will be difficult but the facilities were good and easy to use
A. A. B.
Good location and secure parking
The price tariff is very high
But the deal £7.50 seems good if you park early morning between 6 -9am and exit before end of the day
L. M.
Tight to drive round and tight spaces, we paid £4.40 for a few hours so not awful and it's well placed for the shops
R. F.
Handy car park for city centre and ice rink. Not cheap.
G. M.
Spaces are quite tight - if you have a large SUV or long estate you might struggle to get into a space. Never known this car park to be full, however, so you might just need to go to an emptier floor.
J. C.
I prebooked but the downside was that it took ages to get out after leaving the arena.
R. “.
Prices are a little high and its an old fashioned car park very tight spaces but i use it because its the right side of nottingham for ease of access for me
C. O.
Not a bad car park but we found that the shop mobility had coned off loads of spaces and we had to find others and then use lifts.
O.
Reasonable prices, short walk to city centre. A bit awkward layout but lots of spaces
R. R.
Very good location. Actually it is in city centre.
New cage for motorcycles - great idea. My bike will be much safer now.
O. C.
Love the food from here. Bungable ready meals that are much more like home cooking than a supermarket microwave meal. They were really good with my little one in store too.
J. S.
Not the cheapest of car parks but it is a clean, safe and reliable place to park your car. I have used this place many times over the years. I have also recommended this place to others.
H.
Centrally-positioned & not too expensive - a good choice when visiting / shopping in Nottingham.
G. C.
Parking close to the city centre. Parking spaces of a good size, but it can be a bit tricky to navigate the different levels if you have a large car/Suv. Otherwise its just fine.
F. C.
Huge parking with tiny parking spots. Paid £4 per one hour. A reasonable price given us location (at lace market, close to ice arena)
t. b.
Parked here taking my girlfriend out for a meal. Safe carpark just get my t5 van under the roof lol I'd defo say knock one diget of the end of the night couple beams on way out are lower then entrance
m.
Some machines were out of order which was irritating.
Convenient location however, and the pricing was reasonable compared to competitors and similar businesses in other cities.
No real reason not to reccomend this place
N.
Plenty of spaces for family cars, disabled cars and motorbikes. A bit pricey, but this is right in the middle of Nottingham and very easy to get to to.
b. c.
Handy car park in the city centre but a bit of a struggle with the one way system to get to it. Reasonable city centre prices but the parking spaces are quite small, don't go in there in a large suv.
T. H.
I always use this place but I think there has been a price increase I was there for 5 and a half hours and was charged £10.50 I think this is too much
K. M.
Good for concert venue parking. Reasonable charges, lots of room. Close to city centre. Look out for the trams though!
J. G.
Strategic location. Discounted tie ups with various nearby businesses. High capacity. Aromatic urine smell on staircases. Insecure pedestrian access.
D. M.
Quick easy parking
D. A.
It's a car park, not much more to say about it. Wasn't too expensive for a city centre car park and it is one where you pay on the way out, so you only pay for the time you've been there.
J. H.
Spaces are ridiculously thin!!! Time to update guys... But safe and clean
A. N.
It's a carpark just off the street, you pay money to store your car there temporarily while you go visit friend/family or shoplift or whatever your into. why are you reading this review? Its a car park.
A. L.
Easy to find and use. It would have been 5 star if I could have Pre Paid so not having to Queue after the Gig we watched had finished
A. P.
Tight as heck but it's fine and cheaper than the rest in the area
S. M.
One of the easier nottingham car parks to find and park at. Next to lace market, arena, Hockley and slab square. Good car park to get to it all. Not as expensive as some either.
P. J.
Very busy, popular, well located.
A. C. B.
Convenient but quite expensive
M. A.
Decent parking structure. Pricing seems high, but location is decent.
P. B.
Not cheap but then nowhere is in central Nottingham. Very central location, can pay with cash or card and pay station is very well lit and very public so would feel safe even late at night.
m. c.
Ideal if staying in the ibis hotel as it's just across the road , about 10mins walk to city centre
J. B.
Secure and resonably priced
G. N.
It the most ideal car park if you have a big car. Good location for nice bars and shopping.
J. W.
Great location. Tight if you've got a big car. Quite pricey. Always park here for the location.
S. B.
Clean enough, decent location. The spaces are tight for modern vehicles and it is often very busy.
C. S.
Plenty of space on the higher levels.
F. L.
Conveniently placed but tight parking spaces and narrow ramps between levels. Avoid if you have a large car.
S. X.
Incredibly tight corners. A pita to move the car around, wouldn't recommend any large vehicles to park here
R. W.
This town centre car park is easy to get to and has a easy to use pay machine and the spaces are easy to park in
C. S.
Great location but high tariff for a couple of hours stay
c. h.
Easy to use - staff on hand if needed
P. J.
Easy parking but you'll have to queue to pay if you use it for the motor point arena.
F. C.
A bit pricey but convenient parking
M. L.
Good location. Clean. But built when cars were smaller.
s. c.
Nicely organised
P.
Great staffed car park with lots of spaces right in the centre of the city.
E. H.
Very clean, usually quite easy to find a spot and centrally located.
J.
Great location, not great prices. £6.50 for just over 3 hours. Can pay by card/contactless
A. P.
A clean central carpark 👍🏼 Well lit place 👍🏼
D. H.
It's fine as a car park. Though I'm not sure it's still there anymore
R. M.
Spaces are a bit small but ideal parking for getting into Nottingham City Centre. Could do with a bit of a refurb.
A. L.
It's a great location right in the heart of Nottingham
S. H.
Really expensive. Use the park and ride if you can.
S. R.
Parking can be a little tight, and coming back down to exit in a bigger car can be interesting.
m. c.
Ideal if going to lace market theatre. A little tight on bends if you have a large car.
L. H.
Really tight, bit hairy at times going up the ramps to the exit in a larger car
L. A.
Very tight if you've got a big car, good central location
K. R.
Just a bit expensive
L. P.
Standard car park. Can be difficult to manoeuvre a car around as its a bit tight especially if you have a longer car.
L. F.
Nice and clean ,easy to park and a 2min walk into the center of town ,
J. S.
Pretty good car park, nice and close to center of town
D. C.
Very convenient car park in the centre of Nottingham, just wish the prices where a little lower
N.
A bit scruffy. Note that motorcycle, motorbike parking is FREE in the car park in the designated area.
B. M.
Secure and well lit. Feels like a safe place to park
A. A.
Nice car park but very tight
L. T.
Great parking for the hockley area, always found a space even at peek times.
S. C.
Typical 70s car park. Old dirty and needs a dam good jet wash!
C. K.
Secure car park, pricey compared to others in the evenings. Also, attracts beggars in the pay station area
F.
An average car park, bit disgusting and not the nicest place, also quite expensive but could be worse
S. L.
I parked my car in Lace market car park. And I travelded Nottingham by Tram.
N. C.
If you have a big car be careful as you exit as it is quite narrow....
K. K.
Excellent
L. B.
Fairly expensive as far as it goes, but it's not a terrible place to park your automotive vehicle.
Z. J.
Small spaces,
R. W.
It's a car park! Handy if you drive a small car!!😀
C. M.
Tight car park. Avoid if you are not a confident driver. Short walk to ice arena and shopping.
D. W.
Closest decent car park to town but busy and cramped. M&S drop off here.
B. C.
Tight corners - but you can get discount from the parking fee by going to a film at the Broadway
F. M.
Convenient to the places I was visiting. A bit on the pricey side
G. P.
Very tight car park, but good location
C. '. H. N.
Car park, no tramps has lifts only slightly smells of urine

W. S.
Ok if combined with visit to Broadway cinema as you get £3 parking otherwise expensive

T. J.
Easily accessible and very convenient parking in the centre of Nottingham.
A. B.
Great location for Motor point and cheap all day parking
O. F.
It's tight, but the evening rates and 24 hour access make it worth it.
C. F.
It's a car park that charges way to much for evening visiting, it was a Wednesday night, no shows on , come on !
R. D.
Close to everything, a lot of places since it is a bit less known. Problem is the queues during commute traffic
P. S.
