Reviews of West Park, Long Eaton
J. C.
A really lovely space to take your dog or simply go for a walk, especially when the sun is shining. There's a cycle path, a running circuit and plenty of open space to enjoy. There's a playground, skatepark and also a cafe, but opening times vary for this. Still a beautiful place, and a bonus that it's not far from Long Eaton town.
d. j.
Visited yesterday(29/08/22) with the kids and were shocked on how much this park has to offer. Wether its watching the rugby or cricket or letting the kids play on one of the many play areas. There is a tennis court, bmx track , skate park, basketball ball court, a wet play area where the kids can have fun and get soaked. We didn't do the nature walk this time. Small cafe located near the play areas which wasn't badly priced and stocked you usual snacks and drinks.
I couldn't take photos of certain areas due to privacy of other families etc.
A. M.
Great open space for people of all ages to enjoy. There are different activities on this site swimming pool, high wire adventure, football pitches, playgrounds, skate board area, tennis courts and a children's water park.
a. b.
Lovely clean park with an actual concrete skate area as well.
During the main summer months there is also an outdoor splash area with a shop selling ice creams.
M. D.
Very beautiful park for a walk with plenty of activities for those who love sports. I recommend it😁😁
B. J.
Very large park, lots of paths, popular dog walking spot. A bit soggy in winter but otherwise great!
L. M.
Wonderful park. Plenty of space for all. Cycle lanes, skate park, splash pad, two play areas, football areas, cricket, bandstand, brook running through it. Cafe, tennis court, nature reserve in the park, beautiful foliage. Toilets, changing areas, benches dotted around
D. B.
The park itself is very nice , great walk around for all of the family. And is well maintained , Some area's could do with attention like the skate Park has some characters in it with some inappropriate music being played .
T. J.
Been coming here for several years now both as a gym member and for martial arts training
The pool is good, the usual good supply of work out machines, the martial arts class is excellent and the staff are always very friendly
Got me out of depression after my dad died and helped me shift the excess weight my comfort eating had put on
I've dropped from a 55 inch waist to a 42 inch waist
Definitely worth a look if you're interested in getting into something new
B. R.
Great flat level walks. Not massive area but nice to walk dog around. Nice play area for kids and a cafe open for drinks and light snacks. Big plus, free parking.
I. L.
Nice place for a walk with the doggo’s. Be careful of muppets walking in the cycle lane if you’re a cyclist. Sat morning fun run is very busy so avoid this time if lookikg for a quiet walk
P. T.
Big open space with plenty to do, skate park, kiddie play area, cricket club, tennis club etc.
Bonfire night was awesome.
D. M.
A great park Which serves the Long Eaton Community. Well kept and a lovely open space.
It was actually also designed to act as a flood plane to protect the town. Look out for the banks and moats around some of the site. Not sure about late night activities in some of the more remote parts?
P. M.
Huge outdoor space. Popular with dog walkers and runners. Small cafe with outdoor seating. It has facilities for rugby, cricket, football, tennis, swimming, and even a baseball pitch has been marked out.
P. K.
Lovely park, play areas, splash pad, skate park, sports pitches, lots of lovely landscaping, easy path all the way round, free car park. Toilets and coffee shop in the middle of the park.
K. H.

K. W.
Great green space, for walking, skate, children park, nature ect.

We arrived on a very hot day and the park was very busy. The park was clean. Only reason not 5 stars is it would be nice for additional seating up near the park
l. b.

S. P.
I watched my son play rugby. Fantastic atmosphere and great music. And seen a beautiful sunset as we was leaving
s. b.
Well maintained beautiful park. Perfect for all the family
Q. K. (.
This place would be wonderful were it not for the tyrannical madmen who roam the place in council vehicles as if they own the land, pretty sure there are far too many of them and not enough work. Have fun. Sept 22 The place is still my least favourite open space in Long Eaton.
D. A.
Great park. Lots of space and open facilities. Would recommend for a stroll.
C. M.
Very nice park for all ages. My dog goes there daily he loves it! They do a weekly park run on Saturdays. Lots of sports clubs play on the grounds. Lots of space for all. Plus nature reserve there too. Two children's play grounds and cafe.
P. W.
Nice grounds to walk on, lovely flowers in the soring/ summer. Some dog owners do let dogs walk off leash who are not very nice sadly so best to ask if friendly before letting your dog or family approach them! Bit thats the only downside. Lots of events held there nice community feeling
p. b.
Great outdoor space with plenty to do for kids
M. W.
Gorgeous park, had a fabulous lunch just over looking the park on a pristine spring day, absolutely perfect
c. p.

Suitable for wheelchair. Out wheelchair user loves visiting and uses the park too !
T. R.
Excellent place for dog walks or walks without a dog. Nice circular routes so you don't have to come back on yourself. Path all the way round so ideal for pushchairs, wheelchairs and people not too sure on their feet. There is a lovely cafe there but it's closed at the moment (December). There are a couple of parks and a splash zone which is open in the summer. Also toilet facilities. Free parking as well at West Park Leisure Centre.
T. J.
Fresh winds, cold and bracing. Wet and a bit muddy underfoot when off the paths. Great open space.
J. D.

H. T.
Went for a walk a few months back and a park run more recently. The park run is a dream with flat surfaces and long straights. Managed to smash my personal best. West Park has a lot of other sports including cricket, rugby, tennis and football. Great for cycling also and ample room to wander around. There is also a leisure centre on sit with a gym and swimming pool for the fitness fanatics.
S.
Great place to spend time with the children. 2 play areas, splashpad water park and a cafe with toilets.

L. A.
A great day out with the children, a nice cafe fantastic play area & little skate park it's just the toilets that let it down but I suppose it has them. The splash pad is also brilliant in warm weather.
D. J.
Really lovely place to visit my first time will be back again superb
J. D.
Lovely park with attractions to suit most people. Play areas for children, skate park, tennis, cricket and rugby. Cafe open every day.
K. B.
Bring a picnic, ideal family-friendly park. Update, must admit sum areas needed a bit ov a tidy up n Y do dog friendly people think its ok 2 leave there "deposits" behind? The garden team have enuf t'do wivout clearin up "un-friendly" deposits... End of rant.
p. c.
Tidy well maintained park for cycling and dog walking
S. L.
Very nice park and walk around.
D. O.
Nice place to relax. It can be very busy sometimes.
B. D.
A nice park, with car park facilities, cafe, bandstand, skate area, parkrun, exercise machines, and some big open areas of grass.
j. s.
Always enjoy a walk in West Park. Always clean, well patronised, plenty to see and games to watch. Cricket, rugby skate park and good cafe and toilet facilities. Not a huge place but good for a couple of hours saunter. Not too far to walk into shopping area. Bonus is free parking.
A. A.
Big open green spaces in the middle of suburbia. The varied amount of activities and life you can see here refreshes the soul on a summers afternoon. Also has park, splash pad, skate ramps for the kids and cafe and toilets for the grown ups. Makes me smile every time I walk through.
R. D.
First visit to West Park. I'll be visiting again. Great place for families
r. M.

There are also indoor and outdoor tennis courts and a skate park. There is also a bandstand which is lovely. There is something for everyone on this park!
P. G.
Very pleasant open space to visit, nice to have such a relaxing place to enjoy, couple of activities on the go including a park run and a tai chi class
T. B.
We went in the May half term with our 3 children and the water park wasn't open, but we still had fun playing in the other parks and we enjoyed our picnic under the trees. The place is well looked after. Just a shame in the heat the water park wasn't open as we had so much fun the previous time we went.
J. B.
Well taken care of park which is great for dog walkers and joggers alike. The swimming pool and facilities are very clean and well looked after.
According to my friend Andrew Sinclair, there's a tree missing.
C. S.
A great, well kept park with plenty to do for the whole family.
There's a cafe for refreshments near the splash pad water park for kids. There are BMX ramps and a skate park as well as tennis, bowling and playgrounds.
Football pitches, Rugby pitches, cricket pitches and a baseball pitch can all be played on when no organised sports are taking place.
C. “. L.
Has 2 parks. One for toddlers and one for older kids. Not much for babies to play. And dangerous when wet. As a mum I was slipping and falling over on the play area. And the water splash area wasn't on when it said it should have been. Lovely to take your dog for a walk or a park run.
A. D.
Fantastic golf course that has changed beyond expectations since it was transferred to private ownership. If one of the pay and play courses in the region and getting better month on month. Great value for money that presents challenges to all levels of golfer.
D. D.
Visited with Belper Rugby Club for my son's match against Long Eaton and we were all made to feel very welcome.
The club house is brilliant, with a great selection of food and drinks including hot drinks and alcoholic. Large TV's showing the football and the staff serving were very friendly.
Good luck in raising the money for the extension of the club house.
S. M.
Beautiful and well designed Park with range of footpaths. Good for family outing. There is a lot to do for all ages. Good for taking dog for walks. Also play areas for young ones. West Park also has swimming pool and centre for indoor games and gym.
K. W.
More like a water park !
D. W.
Good park... Lots of space ... Lots of sports there ... And there is also a cafe where you can also get ice-cream ... There is a scatepark and 3 play areas one of which is a splash pad where kids can play and get cooled down... There is also a tenis play area and lots of exercise equipment around the park.
T. L.
Great park and the play areas are great for children of all ages, including the water park bit.
The toilets were disgusting (when open) and didn't look like they had been cleaned for months.
R. L.
West Park has lots to offer with its splash pad, playground, skate park, outdoors exercise equipment, cricket and rugby grounds, as well the leisure centre and pool. The iconic bandstand is also quite memorable in an almost nostalgic manner and pleasent relief to find in the rain.
L.
A very huge park with tennis courts, bowls club, splash park, and skate park.... So, plenty of things to do for all the family..... Skate park is open 24/7..... There is also a kiosk near to the kids swings etc... Where you can get hot and cold drinks and snacks..... I was going to get a cup of tea , except the queue was hellish long... So, I didn't bother..... It's a HUGE park.....!!! Also has a leisure centre at its main entrance.... ☺️☺️
j. w.
Huge place, called in whilst passing, nice walk, childrens park is good, little cafe area to buy drinks/ice creams. Will return.
R. H.
It was a nice park for my friends daughter
C. T.
Fantastic. The water park is wonderful. The long Eaton brass band played which was glorious
j. n.
Good wide open space, walking ,jogging, dog walking, children's play area, amateur football, cricket and rugby teams, sports centre, swimming pool flat parking.
G. J.
Nice open space, play area's & skate and bike park, cycle lane marked all around the park plus a leisure centre, so the kid's have a good few hours running around then go for a swim.
D. W.
Lovely open space for all to enjoy. Great play areas for children with lots of things to play on zip wire roundabouts swings etc. There is a splash park area with a series of interactive fountains, water cannon, water spouts and sprays all on a non slip surface within a fenced off area very safe and so much fun. The park is flat and has a series of adult exercise equipment set around it. Ideal for cyclists, runners children on bikes and scooters or just for a leisurely stroll. For the more adventurous there is a skate park which is very popular. There are some spectacular trees and we love to visit in the autumn to collect conkers of which there are plenty. With ample free parking what's not to like?
E. W.
A lovely day on the park! Lots of people enjoying the park. My older kids loved the splash pad whilst the younger ones enjoyed the park. There was quite a few plastic bottles lying around on the grass despite there being plenty of bins! My older boys started to pick up and bin what they could. The staff in the cafe could have been a little friendlier but it was 3PM on a very hot day. Perhaps a free drinking fountain would be a good idea too if they are going to impose a minimum card spend as there were kids there without drinks/cash.
E. B.
A local resource we came to really appreciate in lockdown. Has loads of resources, including a well used skate park, cafe, cricket and rugby grounds. It also serves as a flood plain, so while not great to visit after heavy rain, it stops the surrounding area from being flooded. A keystone of local community.
F. P. (.
Great place to walk the dog but needs to be more lit up at night the whole way round the park. Overall nice place
R. Y.
Very nice park
J. P.
Wide open spaces. Room to play and run around. Cafe and toilet facilities. Very green.
M. S.
Had a great time at the splash pad. Grwat for kids on a hot day
S. S.
Great if you are looking for all kinds of sports including Baseball ⚾
j. b.
Great park for the kids to scoot around. Some lovely little play areas and skate parks. Enjoyable place to walk.
P. ?.
Lovely large open space with free parking. I sometimes use the gym here. Ideal spot for kids to play, cafe & toilets at the park also splash pad. Nice area for walks & its also possible to follow the canal to trent lock. Cricket, bowls, rugby & football greens too.
C. L.
Nice park, Spent a lot of time here as a kid playing on the park, as a teenager playing/trying to play football with my mates. Good skate park, football pitches, tennis courts, cafe, splash pad, park for small kids and park for older kids. Only thing knocking 1 star off is the drunks/drug users sitting under the bridge at the broad street entrance. Never bothered me though to be fair so don't let that put you off. Nice place to spend a few hours in the summer
s. a.
Nice park to walk your dogs and enjoy with the family
J. K.
Nice and clean, all dogs on leash. Good for kids to run around and play sports. Could not find a play area so they may not have one
K. D.
Beautiful park very well kept and lots to do for kids ashame the cafe isn't open more often but I understand why during cooler weather
M. T.
It's a lovely park. Great to just walk in. Great children's play area and skatepark area. Flat to ride bikes on the bike path. And a small nature reserve at the top to walk around too. Not to mention the leisure centre and loads of open spaces. A great find.
S. B.
Love west park, and the cafe, plus toilets open, yay
J. M.
lovely park especially this time of year with the trees colourful. something for everyone very good play area and cafe.
m. b.
Free parking but it does get busy. Ideal circular walking route which is good for running/cycling. the park has a multitude of things taking place. Rugby, football, skate park, indoor tennis, dog walkers, runners, kids play area and cafe. not to mention a community leisure centre that offers swimming and gym - that's why the car park gets full. But parking is free and it's easy to navigate around. Also easy if you're in a wheelchair.
E. W.
Lovely park, great for dog walking off lead with plenty of field space for running. Nice parks for kids (2 separate for different ages) and nice cafe (when open in summer). Water park great for the young ones.
G. P.
Nice park lots for the little ones to do. Good rugby club nice place for a beer on a sunny afternoon.
H.
West Park is a lovely well kept park, the residents of long Eaton should appreciate it and are lucky to have it. It is one thing the local council have done very well with, let's hope they don't plan to cut back on ground staff or even worse sell it off or contract it out. It also seems to work as a flood plain in heavy rain so at least they couldn't build houses on it. It's a very nice park, sometimes you get the odd group of alcoholics but they are friendly and harmless.
j. k.
Nice big park to walk around with basketball court and kids playground I the centre, next to a cafe which opens in the summer
D. B.
West Park has something for everyone. The children's area is very popular, almost too popular at holiday times. A very well kept and interesting park. It is a park well worth that longer distance to travel. Even has an indoor swimming pool. It is one of the best parks in the area. West Park and Bramcote Park are definite complementary venues to visit on the same day.
C. S.
Lovely wide, open space for playing games, with cricket pitch, croquet lawn, skate park and other play areas. Splash pad, cafe and toilets too.
J. H.
Extremely big open space with a variety of different activities such as cricket, tennis, football and many others. Also there is a skatepark and a very large children's play area that includes a splash park for when it's hot in the summer.
Also West Park offers a gym and an indoor swimming pool at decent prices.
Great for dog walking and many other outdoor activities.
J. H.
A great park with a good community feel, lots of active sports clubs that make use of the space that peacefully Co exist with dog walkers. Good amenities for children with a play park and splash park for the summer. Limited skate park. Tennis, football, softball, cricket and rugby pitches.
S. W.
Lovely Park. Plenty of space to play sport, walk the dog, Cycle , Jog. Very well cared for by the Council 🙂
M. A.
Great play areas for young and older kids. Enjoyed coffee and cake.
E. S.
Good for a walk. Play ground for children. Skate board, football, cricket, bowling & a natural walk. Café in summer. A bit busy at weekends and during lock down.
S. G.
A truly excellent park. Well used by families, runners, team game players and dig walkers.
Static keep fit equipment is provided along with many sports pitches: football, rugby, cricket and baseball. Great splash pad and play equipment for kids near a decent little cafe. Fox Covert nature reserve is worth an explore.
K. H.
Good walk with the dog and my youngest son
E. A.
Kids' play facilities are excellent; dogs have numerous large areas to exercise; cafe and toilets clean and accessible. Will be returning!
T. V.
The crown jewel of Long Eaton and the best reason to live here.
Rugby, Football, Cricket, Basketball, Tennis, Baseball, Skateboarding, BMX, playground, Park-run, fitness circuit, bandstand, Bowls, dog walking, splash zone, playgrounds, ice cream.
It’s just ace. And the majority of it is free and within walking distance of most of the town.
J. H.
Nice park to walk around, with the option of stopping off to use the exercise equipment, dotted around the entire pavement. Unfortunately, the addition of cyclists being allowed on half the path, spoils the enjoyment of walking with the dogs and children and they do pass at some speed. Whilst the paths are well maintained, it is sad to see so many of the old trees being removed and the new ones not being adequately protected from the vandals that frequent the area. The addition of the cafe was a welcome thing to have, but it is seasonal opening, so in winter time there is no welcoming drink to look forward too. Lots of activities for sport, football, rugby, cricket and tennis, including a nice play area for the young children. The outdoor bowls green is still there, but the golf and croquet area is long gone.
D. P.
a large award-winning park used by different sports teams eg rugby, cricket, croquet, and joggers, walkers, cyclists also town events such as bonfire night. There is a tree trail and a Friends Group. Good free parking. Good play area and skate boarding area. Cafe and toilets sometimes open. A suggestion for enhancing the Park would be to consider some wild flower areas (signed as such).
C. M.
Fantastic place, lots of activities to keep the whole family entertained including splash pad and various playgrounds to suit children of different ages and abilities. Well maintained gardens and flowerbeds, nice place for a relaxing walk. Standalone exercise equipment for adults (possibly teens) to use with instructions clearly displayed. Café and toilets. Leisure centre next door.
T. T.
Lovely walk around the park, great splash pad for the kids in the summer, skatepark and play park. Nice little cafe for coffee and cakes, ice creams etc. Small woodland walk for dogs.
J. K.
Everything for a day out with the kids.
Play area for young children plus older children great new splash park.
Bowls for the older person.
Skate boarding park. Tennis Courts.
Great for picnics or a quiet walk.
Great Park in a busy Town.
J. H.
One of Long Eaton's most outstanding assets is West Park. It is a beautiful and sizeable green space which boasts an excellent children's play area and splash pad. It is also home to three cricket clubs, a bowls club, tennis club, baseball clubs and a skate park, to mention just a few of its attractions and facilities. West Park Leisure Centre is right next to it, and there's ample parking. If you are new to the area, I would recommend it as a nice place to go with the family and your dog for a nice walk and a picnic.
H. a. D. B.
Large council-owned park to the west of Long Eaton. Lovely to walk around at any time of year. Small cafe open in the summer. Cricket, football and rugby clubs. Large Leisure centre with free parking. Cycle routes around its perimeter. National Park Run site. Ruined a bit by irresponsible dog owners, leaving land mines everywhere.
C. B.
Lovely place next to the canal and old lace mills, wide open spaces and well kept
2.
Very big and spacious park. Multiple walking routes, with a small lake and playing fields scattered around. Also has a cemetery and a big free car park which stays open 24/7.
T. 8.
Recently moved to long Eaton with my partner and were very happy to find this place. We had a fantastic time lounging in the sun watching the world go by and having conversation with people passing with children and dogs. Makes living here much nicer knowing we have access to such an amenity.
s. f.
Best park for miles , dog walking , joggers, mums and kids at the large play areas , cafe , park kept in fantastic condition a lot of hard work from the council here 👍
B. M.
Huge park, has lots of open spaces and activities on offer. Great place to walk the dog.
Y. S.
Nice people at skatepark...very busy but the entire park is nice for walks and exploring i really love the woods i highly recommend them if you're looking for an adventure
J. D.
Very nice open park. Children's play area, splash park and fit trail for all abilities. Bike/ scooter/ skateboard park. Cricket, rugby clubs based here. Café close to play area not always open. Well worth a visit
C. W.
Nice for walks and running. There is two play parks, a splash zone in the summer to play and cool the kids down in. A skatepark too. Tennis in and outdoor. Also features activity trail. Always a cricket /football /rugby on to watch. Can get a bit flooded and rubbish laden.
J. J.
Nice place to go for a walk, well kept. Lots of open space for walking dog and a small wild area for some additional interest. It's close to me but looks like plenty of parking there. Has events throughout the year and a small food/drink outlet on site.
C. S.
Great Park, very large open space, dedicated skating area, dedicated cycling lane around the entire perimeter, cricket, rugby and football possible. Great place to walk dogs.
V. B.
Great flat park for kids to cycle with a decent play area
P. M.
I've been teaching Krav Maga here for 15+ years. It's a decent centre with good facilities. And a decent gym. The staff are friendly and helpful. And the Krav Maga class is excellent 🙄
L. C.
Beautiful park which caters for a variety of different sports throughout three seasons. Popular with dog walkers as well. Well cared for and different areas for everyone to enjoy. So lucky to have this park on my door step.
D. C.
Worth a visit and a nice place for a stroll.
M. B.
West park in Long Eaton is a jewel of a place to visit no matter what time of year. I have 2 small dogs and to walk them around the perimeter is enough exercise for all of us. There are tennis courts, football pitches, a skateboarding area, exercise equipment etc. Plenty of picnic benches and seating areas set in beautiful surroundings. With ample car parking available you can spend as much time as you want here. Its lovely.
M. C.
I'm new to the area and my partner recommended we went there, I'm so glad we did. What a great park!
First off its huge, and great if your into running as there are many different routes around the park all on a nice flat plan, plenty of shaded and greenland areas.
There is free parking.
A short walk into Long Eaton town centre and a few steps from the canal.
S. M.
Lovely park to sit in the sun and grab a drink from West perk cafe would totally recommend taking a picnic and going to the splash pad with loved ones
R. B.
Decent sized park and well kept. Outdoor gym equipment you can use for free if you are into fitness. Good sized car park, good to play with the kids or walk the dog.
R. G.
Nice tidy park, easy to get to, loads of play space and a cafe in the centre.
L. B.
A really beautiful green space in the middle of Long Eaton with great facilities, including a children's play area, tennis courts, access to the canal and stream, playing fields, Park Run track, running/biking/walking track around the perimeter, cafe and toilets.
Everything is well maintained and looked after, it's lovely in the summer when the flowers are planted in the borders and everybody can picnic on the grass.
D. C.
Grand-children love the park, they also like the playground. Cafe and loo's on the site. Excersize stuctures are dotted about the park that all can use which are free. At the playground there are seating and tables were you can have a picnic. Worth a visit.
L. B.
Nice local park, good for walking, cycling exercising and playing sports on. Lots of things to do for kids, they also sell drinks and ice creams.
L. R.
A great park in the heart of Long Eaton. Plenty to keep the family entertained...skate park, childrens play park, tennis courts, outside gym trail, splash pad and cafe (in summer), nature reserve. There's usually always some activity happening from the local park run at the weekend to marching bands practicing in the summer. The park is rather large with a decent concrete path going around the perimeter making it accessible to all including wheelchairs, bikes, scooters, pushchairs and joggers!
N. H.
Lovely park, we're very lucky to have this on our doorstep. Lots of things happening, sports particularly plus there's a Cafe
L. Y.
Great park for all ages. 2 lovely parks for children to play on, splash pad, BMX course, basketball court etc etc. We enjoyed a family picnic there. Nice little cafe too.
T.
So big it never feels crowded. Lovely park with everything you need. Lots of space to play or run the dog, play parks, sports facilities, or just watch the cricket.
L. G.
Great little walk with park, skatepark, etc for the kids. Decent parking too. The toilets and cafe are a bonus nowadays too!
K. B.
Wide open spaces, mostly flat and two park's for the kids. Splash pad which is great fun. Skate board park. Good parking and nice reasonably priced cafe. Nice place for a picnic.
R. H.
There is so much in this park! Multiple playgrounds! A splash pad! A leisure centre with indoor soft play! Probably other stuff I didn't notice!
L. H.
Lovely huge park well cared for cafe play areas 3 cricket clubs bowls tennis rugby croquet skate park leisure centre tennis ..
C. C.
Visited the splash park with 6 children - they loved it. Plenty to do for children of all ages. Gardens (and areas around town)- yet again our gardeners have excelled themselves.
L. W.
I love west park. I've lived here all my life and have never thought about it from a visitors point of view! Skate park, lots of space for games, cracking play areas and splash zone. For me though, its where I love to run. The parkrun course is marked out for anyone wanting a route. Oh, cafe near the kids area too which has always been handy and toilets. Not entirely sure of opening times
R. N.
A lovely large park. Everything was excellent.
M. P.
Great place for children. With playpark and splashpad.
b. b.

L. N.
Great place! Clean, tidy, very well cared for. Loads of play equipment, bike/skate park, cafe, toilets and splash pad. A lovely walk, place for picnics or outdoor exercise (even has equipment!)
M. B.
Large open space, children's play park with football/rugby pitches. A Café and toilets available. We attended the annual Bonfire & Fireworks... very busy but family welcoming!
A. S.
Great open space. We were at the rugby club where lots of children have fun every Sunday morning. Also clubhouse has nice teas and bacon cobs
S. B.
Great play area and open spaces to explore. Also a nice little cafe and toilets.
H. D. L. C.
My home town, beautiful park, great facilities. Perfect for the whole family including our four legged friends 😊
A. W.
Great park for dog walking. Many cricket clubs here plus baseball and of course Long Eaton RFC. A water holding/flood prevention facility so in flood times the back field is likely to be under many inches of water. Has a small cafe open during the summer and a water play park for kids on hot days. Has a sun meter but that never seems to be working!
E. S.
great park. great accessibility
C. “. S. D.
Nice park. Although very generic. We went to a cafe there and it was a very generic expensive greasy spoons cafe that just happened to be located in a park. Wouldn't recommend as a first choice option
B. L.
Nice place for children to run about take your dog for a run very clean and tidy the council do a excellent job keeping it looking tidy for visitors
F. v. H.
Great park. Path for walkers and cyclist around the outside of the park. Circa 1.5 miles long with and option to half it, if that's too much. Small, basic cafe in the middle with a well appointed kids playground and water play area. There is a 5 a side outdoor pitch and two tennis courts and a pretty new skate park there too. A few cricket teams are based here and long Eaton rugby club use one end of the park for their teams. Plenty of open fields for dogs to run, eat picnics and play games, fly kites etc. Nature reserve at the far end can give you a small wooded area as a dog walk option which includes an elevated section on the flood defences on the edge of the park. Smashing place really, only let down by the under developed cafe, which could be sooo good if only they tried. Recogmended.
P. S.
Good parking, lovely open space and a great Leisure Centre
B. K.
Good sized park for distanced dog walks plenty of open space and flat for a run, good range of apparatus in kids play area
L. H.
My kids love the park and the splashpad. Though the water is on and off not constant. Which can get a bit annoying for the kids. Nice cafe too if the queues can be a little long.
e. s.
Mostly accessible
Lovely place to take your kids
A. T.
Well kept park with great tarmac paths, cafe, toilets, sports facilities, a nature reserve etc. Gets a bit busy but it's big so never too bad.
K. F.
So well equipped
Plenty of space for distancing
Great childrens play area
Other stuff is closed at present but with such a massive park it doesn't matter
Enjoy
T. W.
Great place for kids of all ages to run around having fun with their grandchildren! Enjoy a wonderful picnic together, swapping gifts and playing footie... just don't kick the ball into the stream - DOH!
J. S.
Been going since I was a kid. Look the dog for a walk on my last visit. The fields were completely waterlogged so that was interesting.
I'm baffled that the whole place is so well kept considering it's in long eaton. It's absolutely vast to boot. Will be going more often.
R.
Some folks will move to long Eaton because of this park. It's where to be, it's well kept and safe . Lots of facilities, leisure centre, many sport fields, football, rugby, cricket and tennis . A
skate board park and more. Free car park too. My home town.
S. W.
Beautiful park. Long Eatons greatest asset. Love to see it being used for so many activities. Our dogs vet so excited and enjoy running around.
A. P.
It was a great park years ago...it's not too bad now..but the History has gone..but it Free to walk or run round. But mind the idiots on bikes..& some times there are yobose I think there are cameras now....good..
S. W.
Clean, lovely to take 🐕the dog for walkies there. Can be quite busy at times. Also is prone to flooding during winter/raining times.
J. B.
A great park with lots going on! Baseball ⚾️ softball, cricket 🏏 football ⚽️ martial arts 🥋, running 🏃♂️ skatepark , tennis 🎾 table tennis 🏓 live music 🎶
J. A.
Large kids play area and splash pad. Outdoor table tennis. Cafe next to playground(Not the cheapest). Skate park. Tennis and football/basketball courts. BMX trail. Food Covent nature reserve. Large playing fields. Long Eaton Rugby, cricket and football events. Fun day events throughout the year. Leisure centre with gym and swimming baths. Outdoor gym circuit. Tree trail along the paths to follow. Dogs are welcome. Majority of activities are free, underated local day out.
M. L.
Large park for kids and dogs to run around in.
Cricket pitch.
Bandstand.
Play area.
Football pitches.
Tennis courts.
Bowling Green.
Walking distance of long Eaton Town centre - is that a good thing or bad thing?
D. R.
Park is really good..alot to do for the kids...but the cafe by the park the manager in there is ridiculously rude and has no people skills at all. His attitude stinks and shouldn't be in a fast pass environment if he can't handle it. Will be making a formal complaint to the council
W. S.
The place where childhood memories are made. Best managed park I know, great for sports people or the giant walks. With access to the leisure centre and parking all around this is the place to visit throughout the year.
L. C.
This is a brilliant place for the whole family. Lots of open space for picnics, ball games etc. Toddler park, splash pad, skate park, outdoor exercise equipment, beautiful trees and flowers, and a great cafe.
E. M.
Well laid out and a great experience. Much better now then under Erewash Council total control. A good place to visit with family or a simple stroll.
M. W.
Lovely park for walking dogs and just for a walk on your own. Water park for the children at least two different play parks for children. Would recommend to anyone.
A. M.
Great place to walk. Lots for kids to do, but in serious need of TLC. Unfortunately lots of dogs off leads so had to stop taking my puppy as training her with dogs constantly running up to her was a nightmare.
P. W.
Great Park, plenty to do
D. C.
Nice well kept park. Plenty of space for all sorts activities. We often use it just for a stroll, broken up by the exercise equipment scattered around the paths.
J. M.
Lovely well kept park with a lot of pokestops to play with! Different play areas and parks for all ages as well and the dogs loved the walk!
F. S.
Beautiful huge open space with football pitches, rugby, tennis courts, bowls a park area for both smaller and older children, a splash pad, basket ball court, cycle paths and plenty of Pokémon spawns, gyms and stops.
C. G.
Wonderful park, great facilities. Great for families and dog owners alike plenty of room for everyone.
b. a.
Brilliant, enough things to do!. To fill a day easily. Take a picnic as food from the cafe can get expensive for people living on a tight budget, which most families are now days. It's got all the makings of a cheep day out for the whole family
R. B.
West park is amazing people are friendly it's a dog friendly park.it also as a cafe NOTE this is only open from spring till the end of summer. At night the park is well alight around the tarmac path.would recommend anyone to visit.

Lovely park and walk....such a shame the splash pad isn't open as it's 29°c
A. C.
Good park well lit on several paths at night
L. H.
Beautiful park with lots to do! Football, rugby, tennis, skatepark, two play areas for older and younger children, splash park, basketball plenty of open fields!
A. P.
Includes a play area, under sixes play area, toilets and a cafe (only open at certain times), a splash pad, skate park, tennis courts, exercise equipment, events site, a band stand, and what I can only guess is a type of obstacle course. I'm not convinced this list is exhaustive. There is almost always staff emptying bins and keeping the place tidy. Can get rather waterlogged.
D. Q.
Brilliant open space.
Ideal for learning to ride a bike, rollerskate.
Lots of things to do.
Skate park, splash Park, playground and much more.
Oh, parking is free! 😀
R. M.
Loved the splash pad. Just one small criticism, the timing of the fountains Could be tweaked a little especially for the little ones, too long between and then too short. It caused older children to dash at the fountains and could see an accident happening.
M. C.
Always a favourite with the locals when the weather is good
R. T.
Sun was out, lots of people enjoying the space and was looking well maintained and litter free. Great walk with the dog.
P. W.

P. J.
Nice place West Park but being ruined by the parks division constantly chopping the trees down. They have just cut down two of the largest trees this week, why nobody knows apart the obvious backhanders taking place for logs for Christmas. Erewash council are a disgrace for allowing this to happen.
B. B. T. S. t.

Love Westpark, so much variety for the children, play parks, splash pad, BMX/scooter jumps, football and field sports and tennis courts, cafe is handy, no need to vandalize the zip wire 🤔..... Just wish others would respect the space, litter and illegal substance smoking at 10am on a sunday morning...no need for that.....wish they'd keep it private in a mates garage rather than a space where children are present...maintenance staff have their hands full to keep the park in a super condition.
S. E.
