T. W.I used to really love cuerden, but it now seems as though they dont want families to enjoy the park! Nowhere to excercisethe do, the grass doesnt ever appear to be cut, even in the picnic area.

G. H.There are a wonderful collection of walks through many ancient trees and routes surrounding the river Lostock or leading to the lake. Some muddy paths to be expected so bring boots on wet days. The whole park is maintained by volunteers. There is a new eco cafe which is extremely friendly with inside and outside seating both overlooking the views. Food is high quality - the cheese and potato soup was very filling and sizeable! The meringues are massive. Dog friendly and quick pleasant service.
L. K.We went down shady Rd to that carpark couldnt do a loop walk as a bridge had broke and found a lot of dead ends so u had to go back on yourself and take another option but the paddling at the end was fun kids loved it take a towel and have a paddle x

J. H.Difficult to rate it as 'just' a picnic area. If it was just that you would give it 3 stars for not enough tables, a walk up the hill to the loos, and too many dogs after your food... but as a park and picnic area combined you'd give it 5 stars because there is the beautiful park all around you, the stream and ford to play safely in for the kids in hot weather, and the great community atmosphere that develops on summer weekends, with the whole field full of families picnicking. It is a super dog friendly park with a big dog walking community and this picnic area is at the central hub, so if you don't like dogs this is not the place for you to go - and vice versa!

R. 7.Plenty of benches and plenty of room for people. Lovely spot near to a river where kids & dogs can have a splash around. Plenty of bins too which is important!
