We went to feed the swans and duck, the bridge is beautiful in night time and park is always clean. Sunset time is amazing. It is available big playground for kids with sand and free half swimming pool and many swing of different types. There is also tennis playground and you can use car park with fee.

Beautiful green area. Lovely place to sit and feed the ducks, geese and swans, and watch the world go by. Readipop is ongoing at the moment at Caversham Meadows and it is lovely to see lots of activities here and also listen to the music from the festival.
As you can see, I am having a lot of fun in the attached pictures.

Beautiful park for a calm, peaceful walk on a sunny day
I. S.
This place has been an absolute life saver during lockdown. Having this on our doorstep for our daily walk was absolutely incredible. My favourite part is the geese who have little babies in the spring and will actually feed out of your hand if you train them a bit. Gorgeous views, loads of nature, what a gem in the middle of a town.
M. A.
On a sunny day I would recommend families to go there. Small park for picnics and bbqs
Paddling pool was out of action but added bonus when it is.
Take some bread with you to feed the ducks. And small play area as well for smaller kids. Overall very good place. Parking is ample and pay and display via app.

Beautiful public park by Thames River. There are quite few benches that are facing the river and then facing south, so plenty of sunshine to enjoy while having a snack, watching the swans and ducks. Great for a walk or jogging. There are bookable tennis courts and a playground for kids. It is also possible to cross the river in the pedestrian bridge.
C. L.
It was Jubilee Sunday there was a tent installed by Salvation Army for Churches Together but for everybody. People brought picnics. Problem was I think the cold kept people away. Later there was music and hymns.

A piece of solitude in the middle of a busy lifestyle. I love walking or running along the river occasionally. It's worth stopping to take in the scenery.
J. B.
Great play park for small children with lots of activities including a large paddling pool. There is also a huge grass area for playing on.
S. W.
A pleasant small park on the north Bank of the Thames.
Sports pitches and a play area.
Home of the Reading Beer and Cider Festival and the Readipop music festival.

A cool picnic spot with a play area for the kids by the shores of Thames!!!!!! A variety of swings and the sand play area makes it a heaven for the young ones!! The bridge that connects connects Caversham with Reading makes it easily accessible by foot or road!!! Reading station and town centre is 10 mins by walk!! The meadows got a set of tennis court as well!! In short a place the entire family can enjoy the nature with a lovely breeze and with lots activity options around!!!
R. W. M.
I live here, on the houseboat Marge which is located on the Thames.
It's a good park with plenty of space for kids, families, joggers and people just walking.
It's also very near to Reading Station so if you're at a loose end come on by
K. W.
A charming park on the River Thames. It has a number of nice paved paths, a playground, loads of well maintained green space, a swimming pool, bathrooms and a great looking foot bridge.
M. W.
Very nice place for a walk 👌Even if it snows it's beautiful all year round 😊
K. M.
It's very large playground and recreation grounds. Lots to see and do, from walking along Thames and over the footpath bridge to swings, sand pit, slides and climbing frames to a paddling pool in the summer (although it would need some TLC before they reopen)
Y. T.
Provides you nature walk with ducks, geese and swans.
R. C.
Lovely walk with great views of the Thames valley across to Mapledurham. Only drawback is lots of mums with their prams in the way everywhere you go!
K. P.
Lockdown. Everyday walk to and run in this meadow, 1 hour. Perfect to run riverside of the Thames. Swans, Ducks and less people
S. O. P.
A very nice park area for kids and families. The pool is shallow and great fun for the kids. The playground is clean , well equipped and fun for kids of all ages. The sand is clean and free of dogs.
D. C.
A place for everyone, great fenced play area for toddlers which seems to be well maintained. There are football pitches, tennis courts, walking trails which stretches along the river and can be very therapeutic for the distance leisure walker.
Christchurch Meadow is vast and littered with different seating, so one can always stop and watch the grass grow,or have a picnic.
I don't know if fishing is permitted but there are some cool spots along the river where one could cast off and idle the day away.
Christchurch Meadow, is a place where one could find tranquility. Within the Meadow there are Islands one of which is a wildlife sanctuary, with tranquil space and there one can find or loose one-self.
And don't forget there's a lot going on on the river, within the Meadow. Eg boat rides, bed&breakfast barge's/boats, Cafe's and restaurants. Yes Christchurch Meadow can be a place that most can find a space for leisure. Also the beautiful swans must be mentioned.
P. J. (.
Lovely place to visit with lots of old Victorian buildings to see with great friendly people too
M. T.
Clean, scenic and plenty to do for all. Swimming pool is clean, bridge is attractive and easy to get to. Free parking would be nice.
O. H.
Lovely place with a lot of wild birds, swans and geese. Park is on the Thames riverside. There are a lot of benches where you can sit on and observe the nature
D. G.
If I were a runner, this would be my running spot
R. S.
Beautiful. Great for kids and for a gentle stroll along the river
I. T.
Very nice meadows near the river Thames , very beautiful place, I saw also some swans and this looked like fairytale.
A. S.
Busy on a sunny day, but a worthwhile visit
a.
Lovely place to walk alongside the Thames. Loads of birds around so you'll if you have a dog that likes to chase probably not the best place to visit, mine is quite happy on his lead luckily. Lovely play area for the kids and a large paddling pool.
Σ. Τ.
Amazing place you can rent a boat and go down the river for more amazing views!!
A. W.
Had a lovely walk along the river at Christchurch Meadows, in the surprising weather for February (sunshine and 13°).
J. O.
A nice park along the river Thames. Very popular with families on a sunny day.
M. S.
Fed the ducks with my grandson, very pleasant afternoon. Saw the new banksy art work too.
I. V.
Lovely weather in a park that is very clean and well maintained. When is full in days like this, the bins get overflowing.
D. b.
Lovely place to visit and relax with stunning views of the Thames along the way
N. P.
This is a busy park by the river, catering for walkers, runners, cyclists, sunbathers and people sitting reading in the shade. It's got everything. A big children's playground with a lido. Plenty of ducks and boats for hire. It's a huge place with plenty of space for everyone and it's maintained well.
A. M. l.
Lovely all round park, great day out for all, close to the river Thames
S. H.
Big nice open space... bust playground and paddling pool. The grass had recently been cut but not cleared so was tough to find a good spot to sit. Additionally the toilets are closed and locked which is a problem for an area that's people would visit for an extended time.
P. G.
A beautiful, river-side park with a fantastic play area for kids of varying ages, as well as plenty of space for those seeking quiet.
The paddling pool has just reopened.
Beware of the geese!! There are loads of them.
A. F.
10 minutes from Reading Central train station, on the Thames, large play park, playing fields, paddling pool, tennis courts etc also regular events - Readipop, beer fest, regattas and generally a nice safe place to take the kids to.
A. H.
Very well located in Reading area approachable by every one, have something to enjoy for everyone lined with row of majestic tall trees. Needs better keep up and maintenance particularly along riverside and kids play area.
D. J.
absolutely banging park, made better by Coffee In The Cube.
D. S.
Good and only place to get relaxed over the summer days
must visit place
Y. _.
A quite place
A. B.
Nice and well-maintained football pitch for the player but the down side is there is not enough parking close although you can park about 10 minutes away @ Hill car park.

M. B.
Nice place gor a walk or a picnic. Lots of bird life.
T. G.
Got some good Ducks here, made lots of friends 🦢🦆
I. Z.
I visited this place last Monday. Although the park isn't that impressive, at least it is on the Riverside so you can sit and watch the waterfowl and relax (if it's sunny). It also has a bridge you could cross the river with
S. F.
Take the Thames lane, parking limited. Step slow to river, walk to the left. Birds come quickly.
R. W.
Lovley area it was a joy to see such a large recreation area not yet touched by developers were children can still hone their football skills .
g. R.
Nice place family day out with kids
R. A.
Lovely park. Great for kids and adults. Gentle park and canalside walks. Tennis, extreme Frisbee a Banksy art work, swim/paddle pool realy great place to relax.
T. H.
Beautiful view,nice play area
J. P.
Nice tennis courts close to city centre of Reading. Convenient parking near by. Pretty children playing ground next to courts. Plenty of walkways along Thames. Needs pre-booking.
R. S.
Love it!!! Spent all of lockdown here!! Lovely fields, benches, river, ducks, so much space to distance and picnic!! No toilets or facilities as is just a huge open space but they have a brilliant kids park and a paddlibg pool (whenever it opens)
S. O. r.
Lovely scenery clean n tidy fresh cut grass lovely flowers play area swings slides sand pit canal ice cream van plenty picnic tables benches and some quiet places for a kiss and cuddle and toilets bathing if it tickles your fancy my girlfriend loved it
S. D.
Plenty of space on the grass to stay as distant as you want. Had to move our picnic rug once the sun started to go down as we'd sat in line with a tree so pick carefully if staying until sunset. Plenty of birds to feed - mostly geese some still with goslings.
S.
Pleasant for dogs, has a good kids playground, plus has a great pedestrian bridge over the river to the station.
C. J.
Really nice walk along the river. There is a big playground here for children as well as a nearby coffee shop. It is only a short walk onto the high street. The grass can get very waterlogged if there has been a lot of rain but if sticking to the paths it's fine. Good for dog walks and buggy walks
N. W.
When people think about beautiful Thameside towns, few people think of Reading. However, a visit to the Christchurch Meadows would change their minds, especially since the new footbridge across the river was erected.
Many facilities there for all the family too, including playpark, pool, tennis courts, and sports pitches.
S. Z.
What a place, pool for swimming awesome and it's free yeyyy...
K. “.
My favourite place for a walk.
J. M.
Lovely park, clean. Good for children families and dogs! Will visit again.
R. S.
Beautiful riverside park with childrens play area, lovely walks. Car park and close to Reading Town centre
E. C.
We love this park, its fenced off to keep children in and the walk along the river is lovely too
V. P.
Always nice and neat. Spent much time with child in there.
W. C.
Awesome bit of parkland. Open with lots of play areas and easy access to both Caversham and reading. Beautiful scenery and under the bridge you have the weir, and over the river is the new stylish suspension bridge for pedestrians and cyclists.
N. B.
We love this park, walking over the bridge is awesome and great views over the Thames. Christchurch Meadows is gorgeous in itself. Lido is great for kids and park is fantastic, sandpit is a bonus so take your bucket and spade! Great spot for a picnic too and public toilet available!
L. H.
Lovely playground. It has equipment by Sutcliffe Play. It also has a wooden boat and sandpit. It has a big green space for running around and picnics. Toilet and water play r closed.
Z. C. C.
Lovely, has acres of open space with benches and a paddling pool. It is on the banks of the Thames river so there are a lot of ducks and many different types of geese. Close to Reading Station. A nice place to picnic, also to exercise or just people watch.
C. B.
This is a beautiful place, with great views of 2 Oxford icons: Christ Church and the Thames. Perfect for a picnic. Our little one loves watching/chasing around the geese.
J. H.
Nice place for a walk and great play area for kids.
L. M.
Just outside Reading town centre you can get to this field by the river. There's a small park and water area for kids. We played rounders in the field and there are often people here with picnics. You can see boats go by on the Thames and walk the footpath a fair way if you wish to as well. Couldn't find public toilets easily but we didn't look very hard.
P. C.
Sparse furnishings but plenty of space
s. k.
A good place for a stroll or run, relax and even playing some games.
Has good views due to river Thames flowing in, beautiful bridges.
Has a park nearby for kids to play, which they would love it.
T. B.
Very nice area perfect for a walk
A. R.
Cheap and cheerful but always the best
k.
Great place to visit although it can be a bit boring afterawhile. Good place to have a picnic in and it also has a park, meaning that if you have kids, they will be able to play there. Concluding on, there are patches of fields in which you can sleep on for a tan in sunny days ect. Also has a big lake which is great to take pictures infront of. Has a big church with a memorial beside it. The best part is probably when the sun sets. You get a big wide view of your surrounigs.
A. B.
Nice setting by the Thames. Lots of people come here to relax on a sunny day. Good cycle and waking route with an attractive bridge across to Reading. Paths have a lot of duck mess. Big green space. Children's play area with paddling pool.
b. R. H.
Lovely park, nice children's playgrounds, beautiful walk along the River. However, watch out for geese with no fear of people and the inevitable goose/duck/swan poop all along the footpaths.
T. T. n. R.
A lovely large open grassed area to walk along the River Thames or sit on the benches & watch the boats and world go by. There are plenty of bins for rubbish as well as dog waste. At the Reading Bridge end there is a new and large, modern & gated play ground for children. During the summer a large barge moors here selling teas coffees & bites to eat. It's well kept and maintained.
M. W.
I have enjoyed this place for a number of years, lots of lovely views and an abundance of wildlife. So it pains me to say that I have witnessed on more than one occasion, dogs off the lead, attacking ducklings and goslings. This time of year (May-June) there are lots of young wildlife and it is becoming more apperent that people don't have control of their dogs. I love this stretch of the Thames and it's painful to see the needless destruction of local wildlife by irresponsible dog owners.
T. A.
Lovely 24 hour mooring, just across new footbridge to station and the wide variety of shops. Good children's playground with absorbing items, kept a visiting child happy for hours.
C. T. L.
Lovely place to walk and relax. Good for family, couples and friends.
A. S.
Great spot in the summer for all ages. Pretty much a towm centre location just opposite the station North entrance and across the Thames. Very fond memories spending childhood summers in the lido. Kids today still loving it
A. V.
Great location as it's on the bank of River Thames and close to the city centre. Beautiful path for walking along the river bank. Play area for kids and grounds for other sports. A big cat park is close by.
A. A.
Beautiful green, near the River...
Excellent landscape, with the yachts passing by!
It has a pool for the kids too!!! And various cool playgrounds!!!
Only one toilet near the pool though and children had to wait in line.
M. H.
A nice open space by the river Thames. There's parking across the road. The park contains a large children's park and a paddling pool open in summer months. There are hard tennis courts for public use. The meadows are near to the north entrance of Reading train station.
P. F.
Lovely open space by the river. I always enjoy seeing the birds and cycling along the towpath
R. G.
If it was not for the poisonous plant, coming out from the bench, that my daughter just touched, and that was a horrible stinging feeling with numbness, that would have been one of the best things I did
v. v.
Place closer to nature with children play area. Ducks, Swans and birds along boats are added attractions.
R. L.
Pleasant parkland close to the town centre and with an enjoyable walk along the riverside. Take the new footbridge over from just north of the train station for easy access to go and from the town centre.
J. A.
Best place for kids and family to play nearby river
R. L.
It's a meadow....with grass and trees and things....so l guess that makes it a success? Also tennis and play parks and various less meadowy things are available.
It's getting 4 stars purely due to lack of air-conditioning. It was hot as Satan's balls today- not the meadow's fault but nothing's getting 5 stars after that.
J. P.
Whittington's Tea Barge, Caversham - what great place to enjoy brunch or afternoon tea, super atmosphere. We had lovely sandwiches - for me granary bread brie and beetroot, for my pals toasted cream, cheese and celery and a ham cheese sandwich, followed by really light tasty scones, just wish I lived closer I'd be there every week.
k. w.
Lovely walk along the river with a beautiful night time view of the bridge especially when it's lit up. Close to town and has a child friendly park as well as a tennis court.
