Absolutely stunning. Perfect place to watch cherry blossoms in Reading
Free to visit. Can park inside the university is free during weekends or after 1700 weekdays, otherwise park outside on the road and walk a few minutes. I believe the only entrance is inside the university with a gate (direction is clear, no worries)

These beautiful gardens are not easy to find as they are tucked away in the Reading University campus. Entry is free, but only assistance dogs are allowed. The gardens are well kept and are a bit like a mini version of Kew. There is currently work on the paths, which will improve access, however, wheelchair users will need to allow for rough terrain.

Very pretty and peaceful! There are little labels on the flowers, trees and hedges of what the plants are, I think it's very sweet. It's open all the time, at first it was hard to find it but there are maps located through the uni campus which help.

Can't believe it took me almost 2 years to discover this beautiful space on campus. I love the abundance of flowers and trees that are well maintained.

This is a particularly favourite go to place for me. The garden is tended by volunteers. I visited on Easter Day and the trees were full of blossoms and the Fratiliries were in abundance. Just visit for the sheer tranquility of the place within Reading University!

After trying to find the Harris Gardens and failing on a number of occasions, I'm glad to have finally made it there today. Such beautiful trees and plants, neatly kept but naturally wild in places at the same time.
A hidden gem in the campus at Reading university.

Beautiful spot to just relax and appreciate nature or maybe have a picnic. Has enough shades to enjoy the sunshine without being too hot. There are people always coming and going but its quiet enough for studying too.

Just simply beautiful gardens and space to walk and great for picnics in summer. Not for cycling or scooters to preserve the well maintained areas as it is predominantly a quiet location

Considering I've lived in Reading for over 12 years, I only discovered this place with the family a few weeks ago. Loved it. It's like having a small National Trust site in your doorstep. Great place to go for a walk, get some fresh air and enjoy the gardens. With a visit

Beautiful garden with labelled plants, unique species, plenty of space but with sections private enough to be secluded from others in almost plant like rooms/ sections. Well kept and great for pictures
K. H.
Lovely garden with a good variety of plants. All very nicely maintained.

these tranquil understated gardens form part of the university and are open to the public.enjoy the impermanence of the cherry blossom, the quirky prickly monkey puzzle tree and in the far corner a gentle giant awaits you, the great redwood.

The University's botanical gardens that are carefully maintained. My toddler and I love walking here and spotting different flowers and the occasional geese. There is also a beautiful ring of cherry blossom trees in the spring.

Can’t find words to describe this place, a great place to escape from Uni hustle

Nice place to visit with copy and kids. Well kept. Small but should be ok for a nice walk in the park. Best part is it wasn't crowded. Tulips and trees yet to bloom for spring colours. Enjoyed

Beautiful place, even this time of year. Great that it's still open during lockdown. Ideal for a bit of socially distant exercise. No dogs allowed though (probably for the best as my dog likes to dig!)

Lovely, slightly tucked away garden on the university campus. It wasn't busy at all on a weekday afternoon when we visited. A few benches and lots of grass space to sit. Lovely plants and scenery, plenty of trees for shade or open areas to make the most of the sun.

A beautiful place to go for a walk. The best time to visit is the spring, when the cherry trees are in blossom. This garden has been well planned and maintained, and there is always something nice to see.

Free access to this little oasis in Earley is a welcome respite from daily madness.
On the site of Reading University, the students are also able to keep sane from the demands of their studies.
There are trees, bushes and flowers from around the world to be explored.

Lovely place for a weekend walk with your children. My suggestion: install Google lens and have fun learning about plants and flowers you have never seen before.

Beautiful garden to walk around. No dog allowed so can let the children running around freely without thinking bicycles and poo on the garden like everywhere else garden... and very beautiful flowers in warm season. Everytime I take children they are love running and climbing wood etc.

Idyllic corner of the university campus curated by the Grounds team, the school of Plant Science and a group of volunteers. Generally quite quite with a large selection of plants given the size.
