Excellent Park. Very big with good open rides for kids and open playing area with good activities. Spread sand area and different rides for healthy activities. Beautifully maintained and very and relaxing walk by the trees. Very fresh air and clean park for local and other communities. Highly recommended for kids and families

Pretty great park. It’s huge and has plenty of fun rides for kids. Also very unique there is ample parking for visitors.
Great for day out with kids, walking the dog, football, cricket etc

We attended a festival in the park, it was free entrance, with local bands playing music, there was a variety of food and drinks on sale. there is a large childrens play area on the park.

Great space, there's two play park areas, a basketball court, lots of green space and the leisure centre. In 2022 they're doing lots of building work at the leisure centre which restricts paring, and sometimes big areas on the fields are fenced off but still plenty of space for dog walking. (Also, there are lots of dog poo bins which is very helpful when dog waking!)
M. F.
Nice big park in Reading, good i bring in younger kids for play during good whether. Also has a leisure centre managed by better, need to take membership to access the leisure center facilities

A conveniently located public park in the east of Reading that not only is a park but has a lot to offer. There are indoor sports facilities and an outdoor track at the back of the main building. Large car park facilities are free. In addition there is cricket pitch, foot ball pitch, five a side football enclosure, a cafeteria, a library and large play area for the children.
It’s managed and kept in very good order. There’s a running track in the outer circle of the park with clearly marked distance measurements from the star to finish. There’s a bowling club in the Park.

Great park with lots to do. New playground equipment for the kids is a big improvement from the old set which was looking pretty run down. Also has a sandpit with equipment for smaller children. Path around the house edge of the park is good for running (quite flat) and also for kids on bikes. Small cafe near the playground does cakes, snacks etc but just takeaway at the moment. Always seems to be an ice cream van there as well!

Would have been better if parking for people taking part had been better organised. I had to leave before main events as parking ran out.

Went for the little Reading festival (local stuff) wether was good so sat down and had an Ethiopian dish to the sound of a local band, made a plesent Sunday afternoon.

Very nice park. Well maintained and clean and even though it was busy there's lots of space to still socially distance.

Came for the East Reading Festival. Nice Park, well maintained, and it's always good to see a public space get used.

S. D.
Big park with a great playground. Nice too for playing fetch with dogs..
M. A.
Fresh air, calm, relaxing. Places for kids, a library and sports zone. Oxygen percentage is high, so expect to become sleepy easily. Has many exists to different sides of Reading
V. A.
Lovely Park for local use. Nice place to jog or walk dogs and easy to get to.

This park in particular is a really good place to hang out me personally living in a household with is very near to this place sometimes makes the experience of going there very boring as I walk through there nearly every day ; however, it is still a place I enjoy visiting .In addition, (this may not be necessary although I would still like to include this) If you didn't know my favourite ride which was this wooden and metal thing (sorry I do not know what to call it) someone would spin the thing around while you and a couple others would sit on these metal seats and it would spin around which is really fun especially when they push it around really fast that you feel like your gonna fall off . Sadly this ride was destroyed and the space was used to rebuild the climbing frame and make it bigger. I don't know why they did this but it may have been that lots of kids and maybe teens and adults would get hurt ( I also nearly broke my noise but turns out it just caused me to have lots of noise bleeds but that stopped ages ago .) Anyways despite that one factor it is a good place to go especially to play sports since there is a huge amount of open field space and there are also football nets . Overall please do come visit this spectacular place.

Very good place with kids playground and football ground.

Good for day out with family especially if you have under 7 children. There is a fair going on at the moment and the rides are great day out on a weekend especially when the weather has been pleasant for a while. The shine is awesome 👌

A very nice park for a walk or to spend some time with your kids.has a full size football and cricket ground as well a x a proper Gym within. The cafe isn't that great however it provides basic services.Overall a nicely kept park !

Very nice park, has been a good community spot since the 70's. You will see a few odd people just standing in the kids play areas staring into space even if they have no kids but all in all it's a nice place on a hot summer's day
P. S.
Lovely park with lots to do
B. A.
Nice tidy park lots of greenery family friendly park
n. t. p.
Palmer Park is very full of opportunities for the little ones, big, full of tillia cordata trees (lime trees) that in the summer are sweet in smell and refreshing, you have to keep a open eye for your little one as you don't have a open field of view and you might loose him/her! Other than that, have fun.
PS : this Park has no public toilets!
E. T.
Good recently updated play area. Nice independent coffee shop offering takeaway cakes and food right by the swings. Open spaces for dog walkers, and plenty of parking.
S. D.
It was a lovely place that is bittersweet for us, as we said goodbye to two little boys we've fostered for the last year. Looked nice, and plenty for the children to do.
T. M.
Perfect place for a morning jog or family day out. There’s a cricket pitch, grass football, a tiny children playing area with couple of swings and a small slide. Peaceful landscape to have an outdoor family lunch with plenty of car park. There’s a compact gym with Olympic size race track.
g. b.
A big park and the centre is being remodelled
B. M.
Dropped two stars because the council expect parents to take their kids there and they have closed the public toilets. If these people had young kids of their own and took them to parks etc, they will know exactly what I mean.
J. S.
Nice park for kids. You can play cricket, football and various other games. Long jogging track for 1 mile approx..
a. s.

Best park in Reading if you have some crazy little kids! Has a brand new play park which is top notch, great little Library when Covid restrictions not in place, a sports pavilion with gym with a super little gym and plenty of parking
M. A.
Ample parking. Massive grounds and fields for play relax sit down walk picnic and added bonus of football Pitches artificial and otherwise with gym cycle and athletics track. Only downside is it needs refreshing up a bit as it’s getting old
And tired.
J. F.
Excellent for some fresh air on sunny day

I've just moved close to this park and I never miss a chance to take a morning or evening walk or run or just read a book under a tree in an afternoon or just head out to the park on a dull day to cheer yourself as there are so many people in the park doing different stuff ex. A found a group of people age 60 above practising martial arts. Happy to move in this neighborhood, the council has done a fantastic job
a. s.
Big vast park with multiple areas for children ride, a long walking trail, big car park, football and tennis court, a bowling club, a cafe which open randomly and a ice cream van often spotted beside children play area :) What I couldn't spot is toilets !
R. H.
A nice local park with loads of amenities. Surrounded by A church/community hall, and following the Great Western Mainline along towards the town centre, it is an oasis of green. It has space for playing football, table tennis tables, a cafe (not always open), tennis courts, and play structures for kids young and less young.
Y. T.
Nice big park with playground, easy to access to shops nearby.
D. M.
Lovely place to visit when the sun is shining. Lots of facilities for kids on both the London Road side and the Wokingham Rd sides of the park. There is also lots or wide open spaces to play ball games with friends.
O. B.

The walking/running route round the edge is nice because it has the distance markers

The parking is a big issue since greedy Reading council converted previously free street side parking on the Wokingham street to a chargeable parking. Now residents moved to Palmers Park. Shame on you RBC.
S. R.

This is the best local park we have and we love it. The only problem is that there are no toilets. Such a shame
M.
Nice big park. Has a play area, cafe and sports areas. There is also a carpark.
G.
Best park for exercise. One issue and grudge i have against is that one side of the path is narrow making it a struggle to run or cycle up. Especially when it's hot.
A. H.
Lots to do there for adult and children alike especially the climbing frames which extend at different heights, similar to a Go Ape experience.
R. D.
Always a lovely place to walk the dog. Just a shame that people can't clean up after themselves!
