Reviews of Ewart Recreation Ground

Good amount of green space to enjoy. The playground was enjoyed by our children and grandchildren

Not a regular visitor, but the Hythe Fete was held there and our singing group "The Melody Makers" were among the attractions.
There is a cricket club with a bar and coffee shop.
The site also has a small cinema which features popular films, but find more about the programme and tickets from
"Pebbles" in Hythe.

Love this park one of the best kept parks in Southampton.

This is a very extensive, picturesque and pleasant recreation ground upon which a number of sports can be played.

Smashing little park with lots to do for all ages. Hope the zip wire can be reinstated soon.

We're visiting family, first thing to say is just how immaculate this Park is. Not a single bit of litter, and the football pitch was very well looked after.

I have found this little park is ok but it's not for children aged 1 up to about 3 as some of the equipment is to big for them

I've always loved this park in summer, but was a bit disappointed today. Some items have been removed due to covid 19 and to encourage social distancing, but it made it very difficult to look after my very mobile 9 month old and my 2.5yr son. There's only one baby/toddler swing, and one normal swing at opposite ends of the apparatus. Trying to push the 2.5 yr old on the "big swing" whilst staying close enough to stop the baby chewing on or trying to climb out of the baby swing was EXTREMELY difficult. They've removed the basket swing (which I could have put both children in at the same time), but left the silly orange thing (it was much better when it was more horizontal like a hammock,as again you could fit 2 children on it). The zip wire has been completely removed.
Now, I understand that these measures are to encourage social distancing and although personally a bit inconvenient, there was still enough to do.
However, the maintenance is shoddy. Paint is peeling of the bouncy platforms, the rubber flooring in most areas is either crumbling or lifting and on one of the spinning apparatus, it looks like gaffa tape has been used to hold parts together. I won't be using this park again until some serious maintenance is done.

Lovely little park with plenty of space for walking dogs and a well equipped playground. A few slides, a small zip line, a climbing frame, and plenty of swings as well as some extra bits.

Close to the marina and Hythe village centre, so grab a takeout coffee and let the children run around. The play park has a good selection of play equipment and when I was there, a cricket match was taking place on the other side. Toilets are a short walk away.
